Lissa
Lissa glanced at the window, at the rain falling down. It matched the mood in the house, for sure. Melancholy and sad. Crossing her arms across her tiny chest, she looked back at Vienna as the girl began to speak, and Lissa nodded in understanding. "Sometimes life does that for you, though, and you don't get a choice." She said softly, in reference to getting sucked into a whole other life.

Vienna gave her the okay to come back, and Lissa was surprised at the relief she felt. Nodding, she turned to her plate to grab a piece of bacon, chewing it quietly and quickly. She was just about to open her mouth to say she'd be back when it happened. It was a flash of a vision, but it brought on no lessened symptoms than a full one. Darkness swooped across her vision, and though she didn't lose consciousness, she grabbed hold of a nearby chair to keep herself from falling over. A dark figure in an overcoat and a tophat. "Shit." She choked out as the vision cleared, and she realized she was still in Vienna's kitchen.

Jerking her head towards the front door where Luna had gone outside, she glanced back at Vienna for a second before pushing off from the chair and bolting to the front door. She yanked it open, coming almost face to face with Luna and the undertaker. A moment of silence passed, and then Lissa's grip tightened on the door. "Who are you?"

Vienna was right in what she said, eating that fast did indeed give her a stomach ache. Luna huffed as she got fed up with the aching and turbulent feeling in her gut. She rubbed her stomach in a circular motion as she puffed away at her cig. She just wanted the feeling to go away. She glanced down at the ground, seeing grass at her feet. After glancing around, making sure nobody was around, she stopped down and grabbed a fistful of grass and quickly chewed on it and swallowed. After a few moments she still didn't feel any better so did it again. Grazing always worked before how was it not working now? She quickly gave up and simply stood there smoking.

As she stood there, thinking everything over again and again, trying to make sense of it all, she suddenly got a bad feeling. The fur along her shoulder blades and neck erected as she glanced around, suddenly noticing a strange man in a hat and coat with a cane walking towards her, clearly. She watched him closely as he then went to go past her. Luna Fang, not having a good feeling about the man simply slipped in front of him to block him from entering. "Why's that, bub?" She asked in her usual stoic tone, one black eyebrow raised in questioning. She could tell the girl Lissa was behind her and she ignored her for now her stare directed at the man in front of her. She didn't like it. And despite not knowing these people, she still felt a sense of duty to protect them. Not like a pack or anything but... still, worth protecting.

The moment he made to pass by the tall woman, was the moment a burst of activity disrupted the sleepy rural morning. Rain collected upon the brim of his hat, dripping off against the overcoats lapels, not betraying any emotion which might've hidden behind his stern features. He looked to the pink-haired female who joined them, standing in the doorway of the home with a question on her lips. Keziah unbuttoned the cuff of his left wrist, pulling the sleeve to display the three numbers 4:16, "Names Keziah Iscariot, I'm here for the young Miss Fray over an incident which occurred last night. People are telling me she was seen with one of the culprits." The Undertaker's cold, pale blue gaze flickered between the faces of both who had confronted him. "It's business of the covenant. Unless you know where Mr Brankovich went, then I should like to see him immediately." He narrowed his eyes slightly and lifted his silver-topped cane till it was millimetres from the Luna's throat. "Perverting the course of justice is a death sentence for everyone involved, I would have to ask you move aside so I can speak to your friend." The voice rumbled, retaining a monotonous quality. In another life, it would've perhaps been seductive -- excluding the aura of menacing intent.

"Nobody shall be hurt ... unless you decide to do something idiotic between the both of you." He neared Luna's face till they were nose to nose. "That applies mostly to you, wolf." Again he sidestepped Luna, making a beeline to the open door; looming over Melissa in a silhouette of coat and hat -- the latter of which he removed from his head in a respectful sign. A scar had marred over the skin of his eye, almost in the shape of a key if not for the odd slant. His scent was of metallic overtones to freshly dug soil and pine trees, "I'm quite good with seeing if people are lying." Keziah began towards Lissa, bending at the knee till it was inescapable. "Would you like to say something to me? Or is it something I'd like to see? Now, I would like to see Miss Fray. Do I repeat myself again or are you satisfied with that?" The Undertaker slowly cocked his brow, almost patronisingly.

A lot of things had happened for these people and the appearance of one of his 'sorts' was certainly not going to be welcomed with open arms. They never did. An Undertaker did his job, they buried the dead and acted as a barrier between human and nothing of the sort. Between religion and blasphemy. Between a million things which may've ruined the world, or saved it twice over. Alas, their numbers dwindled. Who wanted to be an Undertaker? Only the damned. Such responsibilities and a death of servitude didn't quite draw people in nowadays.

His desire to be outside was smothered by the discomfort of being noticed, of being recognized by the public, after that fiasco at Augustus's party. Indignant at his reputation being soiled by the likes of a lowly, seemingly barbaric werewolf and outshone by a younger vampire at his very own party, he had left town with seemingly no explanation and without a trace. It didn't help that Judah too, could feel the fear and tension in the overall town atmosphere; the humans here were terrified. A monster was lurking in their very streets, a ferocious beast that wasn't restrained society's values. It bothered him to think himself as a monster, a savage, but then again, who wouldn't be? There wasn't a doubt that the people believed it, there wasn't a doubt that the vampires believed it, there wasn't a doubt that Vienna....believed it...

But did he believe it? That was a question Judah couldn't answer. He had grown up with this alternate side of his, this wolfish, ferocious side---to him, it was natural. But then again, what is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly, wasn't it?

Which is why he had turned to Luna and told her to forget about it, it wasn't a good idea anyway. With a hand on his neck, he went back to the bed as Luna turned around and left him, a signal that she understood. Judah was left once again on his own, bothered by his own constantly overthinking brain. He sighed and climbed back into bed, his mind troubled by all these thoughts, his heart conflicted between his care for Vienna and his large disdain for witches, despite now knowing her own grandmother was one, and she wasn't that bad. He pulled the covers over him, suddenly fatigued, as if all the worries, regrets and problems had decided to prop themselves on his shoulders, a sensation he should've been used to by now if he had followed his father's desire for his eldest, strongest son to be alpha of a once formidable family. He lay down, hoping the sleep would help. Help make all these burdensome things go away; the regret, the bittersweet memories of family and a dead friend, his conflictions over Vienna...
But even as he drifted off into a troubled slumber, even he knew in the depths of his mind that sleep did not help if it was the soul that was tired.

She decided to clean up, Vienna went into the cabinets and get two bowls with lids, she decided to put all of the food into the containers and then she put the lids on. Vienna put the rest of the containers into the fridge and washed the dirty plates. Vienna looked around and cleaned off the crumbs that were on the table. She wondered when her grandmother would be home, she hadn't seen her for two days. Vienna knew that her grandmother was always gone, practicing her witch craft, but she never knew that her grandmother would be gone for so long. What if something happened to her? Vienna didn't want to think like that, her grandmother was an old and somewhat powerful witch, so she knew that her grandmother could take care of herself. Vienna let out a soft sigh, knowing what she was about to do next was something she would regret.

Vienna found herself making her way up towards the staircase, she looked to the door and saw that Lissa was speaking to someone. Probably asking Luna who she was, since the two aren't aquaintained yet. Vienna shrugged her shoulders and went upstairs. As she went up, her heart began to beat quickly, she was afraid. Not of Judah, but of how he viewed her now. Vienna opened the guest bedroom, where Judah was staying and she went in and closed the door behind her. She saw that Judah was asleep, she let out another sigh of relief. Vienna was glad about that, she made her way around the bed and sat down. She tried to regain her composure and gather her thoughts right, so that when Judah wakes up, she doesn't go blank.

Vienna walked around the room and began to pace back and forth, wondering what she should tell him. This was also his fault as well, he never told her of what he was as well. Vienna didn't know what to do, but she kind of guessed that it was both of their faults for not informing one another of what they were.

Vienna hesitated to touch him, he was still the same Judah that she knew. She just didn't know why she was so afraid. A rush of confidence went over her and she gently touched the side of his face. Vienna brought her hand on her lap and waited for Judah. "Judah," she said softly. "I'm sorry...I understand that what I did last night is unexplainable, but I shouldn't have kept this from you for so long." She said softly to herself, hoping that Judah could at least hear her a bit. Vienna didn't know whether he was awake or not, so she decided to just start talking and hope that he was listening.

Lissa
Lissa knew this wasn't her home, and it wasn't her place to call the shots. Not to mention, with her mini vision and the slight nausea still left over from it, and the not-good feeling she got from the man in front of her-- she knew she couldn't let him in. She moved the door some so that she could stand in the doorway, crossing her arms over her chest again. She narrowed her eyes at him, watching him get almost nose to nose with Luna.

He called her wolf, and the look dropped from Lissa's face almost instantly. How did he know? Trying to replace her look of surprise with another narrowed-eyed gaze-- and failing-- she simply craned her neck to look at him as he approached her. He removed his hat, and her eyes were drawn instantly to the scar on his face. "I'm not lying." She told him, which was the truth; she hadn't said anything yet that wasn't truthful. Looking at him as he leveled himself to her height, she tilted her head to the side. "I don't know who those people are." Which, to be fair, was also not a lie considering she just met them the night before.

Hearing Vienna behind her, it took everything in the pink haired girl to not turn around. She heard Vienna ascend the stairs, and was silently grateful. Lifting a brow at the man in front of her, trying to take him all in, mostly out of curiosity. She should have known better, considering what she'd already gotten herself into. "What are you?" The words escaped her before she could stop them.

Luna Fang kept her gaze stoic as the man spoke, describing himself as an undertaker. She frowned slightly (which simply involved her lowering her eyebrows slightly) still severely disturbed by the man. He didn't smell good. Almost like the dead. It made her anxious, not that she showed it. But he seemed interested in Judah, something she was concerned about. What was he going to do?

"Not-" she started before the man suddenly pulled out a knife, a silver knife that shone in the rain as he flicked it close to her neck and calling her "Wolf". Her eyes widened in shock. He knew? How? She could feel the blade's heat resonate, the skin on her neck beginning to feel hot. Luna's black brows furrowed in anxiety. She had experienced silver before. There were small round scars along her neck from a wicked device she was forced to wear for years during her time as some kind of freak in a show, a collar with silver studs along the inside so whenever she moved or the collar was yanked the studs would dig into her skin and burn it.

Suddenly rather alarmed, Luna only gave it away with a raise of the brows and the shrinking of her irises before she swiftly moved aside. Almost like she was under a spell.

Judah Brankovich

Your worst battle is between what you know and what you feel.

The sleep wasn't deep.

But then again, troubled sleep rarely ever does go deep---they're always light, barely on the surface of the deep. Why? Because deep sleep meant peace, stillness, like being submerged into the still, yawning, vast sea. Troubled sleep had to be light or else it wouldn't be troubled, now would it?

Thankfully, there were no dreams this time. Or should he say nightmares? Judah thought back to the dreams he had had before, the ones with Julia in them, his family, even Veronica, and Vienna. They weren't sweet, comforting dreams, that was for sure, but he couldn't really classify them as frightening, unsettling, nightmares.
In one hand, they were bitter---flashbacks of people and memories he did not want to be reminded of. But on the other hand, he couldn't help but realize the only reason why those same people kept filling his dreams was that they each had an impact on his life. Good or bad, it didn't matter---each person was unforgettable in their own way. Maybe that was why he was sick of being reminded, because he knew good times never last.

So, it took no big effort for Judah to be pulled out of that light slumber, especially with his hypersensitive senses. His ears fuzzily picked up the soft thuds of slender feet as they thudded their way across the small chamber, as a rather nervous way too. Then, a gentle, tender hand was placed on his cheek, though it was rather cold--=awakening him even more. He didn't have to open his eyes to know who it was---his nose already having picked up the overwhelming dulcet aroma of Vienna ages ago. Then he heard her speak.

She was apologizing. Telling him she should have told him a long time ago and he knew she had so much more to say, but she was waiting. Seeing if that would wake him and get his attention.
And it did.
Judah opened his eyes and glanced at Vienna, then away as he began to sit up on the bed, letting her hand slip off his cheek. He looked silently at the blankets before him, a morose hint to his expression. Then he turned to Vienna, his murky blue gaze hard and questioning. "Vienna," he said, his tone almost hesitant to say, but he said it anyway. "What...what do you think this was? This friendship?"

4712e3037374415bb7f6b282287b8b65--demi-rose-mawby-beauty-girls.jpg Vienna watched as Judah looked peaceful in his sleep, she figured he wasn't entirely asleep. She could feel it, she knew Judah. She knew that when he was troubled, he couldn't sleep. Vienna didn't know what else to do except wait for him. She didn't want to try and scare him, she wasn't ready for another transformation. Vienna began to run her sentences/responses through her head, trying to order them correctly so that when he spoke to her she would be ready with an answer.

He finally began to come too, his eyes were trying to fixate on Vienna. Vienna could feel a rush of tears trying to make their way out of her eyes. Vienna looked away for a moment, taking in deep breaths. She heard him speak, finally. But all of the responses she had in her mind never prepared her for this kind of question that he threw at her. Vienna didn't know what to do or say. She had to think about it. She always knew they had a good tight friendship, but now it seemed that there friendship was at the edge of a cliff, and any little thing that is said or done can make it come crashing down. Vienna had to choose her words wisely.

"I always thought it was a deep enough friendship that made it feel real. I guess I was wrong right?"

"Now I ruined it...I believed that I got my hopes up for what it could have been turned into." Vienna added. Vienna was referring to her hopefully confessing her love for him in the future, but now she doesn't believe that it would do her any good. He was now thinking of her differently and saw her differently as well. She just hoped that he wasn't too blinded by the fact that she was a witch, well half a witch to be act. Vienna then had the courage to face him, face to face. "I am not asking you for your forgiveness, all I ask is that you still see me as the same girl you knew deep down. Not of what I am or what channels inside of my body. But who you know me as. Viennetta Fray, the girl who always opened her arms to you when you needed someone." She told him as she clenched her hands together on her lap, creating two tight fist. She was trying to hold her emotions inside of her. This took a lot for her to say, she didn't always like saying her full name and not to mention feeling vulnerable.

She was feeling emotional because she didn't know how to handle situations like this and also the fact that she might lose a friend. Or an only friend at that. Vienna broke off her eye contact with him and looked down at her clenched hands, feeling as her hair cascaded past her shoulders and brushed against her cheeks.

"What am I?" The Undertaker seemed genuinely amused, leaning in further till his head was beside hers, lips close to the pink-haired girl's ear. "The ghost of Christmas past." Came the whisper, pulling back the side of his overcoat and wrapping a hand around the handle of his revolver. "I'm an Undertaker for the Covenant of Saint Michael, we deal in situations of unnatural disturbance." He inhaled slightly and rolled his neck from one side to another. "I don't have time for some long historical timeline of events for what I am, or who I am." Keziah pressed the end of the gun's barrel beneath Melissa's ribcage; digging it into the flesh. He cocked the hammer. "Nobody has to die unless you continue to act like children." The dark-cloaked man kept a straight, grim expression. Irises seeming paler by the second, like the washed-out sky after a storm. "I want to speak to Miss Fray over an incident which occurred in the late hours last night. This incident revealed evidence that the supernatural exists amongst humankind, breaching security and trust of the worldwide community. Situations like this require discussion, re-education, fining, or if continued -- execution. I have full jurisdiction over the law and although more than one victim would be a tragedy, I have no qualms in turning this house into a bloodbath if it means I may speak to the young Vienetta Fray." He peered down into the green of the woman's gaze, "For I will cut off your trotters, and boil them." His tone had become an unnerving, quiet thing.

Keziah turned momentarily to glimpse Luna once more, facing back then to Melissa. "You both seem nice girls who just want to protect someone you care about, but that's not how it works." He began to push the revolver forwards as he tried to make Lissa back up into the home. "By doing what you do, this has just made my job harder. I wanted a nice conversation, to sit down and discuss something over a nice cup of tea. Hm? Doesn't seem quite the move now does it." The Undertaker glanced about the small ground he'd managed to gain and exhaled heavily with a small chuckle and shake of his head. "People who do not know me, soon come to understand I'm not a man to start playing games with."

He didn't like the delay. Often delays meant someone could escape meanwhile he had to sort out those who tried to hinder the progress. He really did hate it, knowing a longer chase was a possibility on the books. But he had a shorter patience than most, and irritation was growing by the second. "Now please do not misunderstand the situation, if either of you try to do something other than assist me in speaking to Miss Fray, I will blow the contents of your belly over the living room wall." Keziah remarked, then to the white-haired woman he added nonchalantly "And you will have to eat whats left. Are we clear? Get me Miss Fray and I shall leave without another word. Keep this up and there'll be another funeral to plan."

Lissa
Lissa glanced over at Luna, knowing the odd wolf woman had stepped aside for a reason. It was foolish to try and pretend Lissa had no idea what was going on, when obviously this man before her did not want to be trifled with. He leaned down and whispered into her ear, his dead serious voice giving her chills. She shuddered, not missing the flash of the gun as he drew attention to it.

Things changed when he pulled it out, placing the end of the barrel flat against her ribcage. She'd never had a gun pointed at her before-- ever. He cocked the hammer back and she felt her heart skip about five beats. She stared down at it, but when he spoke, lifted her gaze to meet his. He spoke in a very formal way, but there was one word she understood clearly-- execution. Swallowing heavily, her lips tightening into a thin line, she loosened her grip on the door from where she'd grabbed it just a few seconds ago.

He pressed forward, and Lissa backed up, trying to ignore the butterflies in her stomach. Luna hadn't moved, and Lissa knew what happened next would be up to her. She could continue to play dumb, and most likely die, and he'd find Vienna anyway. Or she could go get the girl.

Lissa didn't want to die.

Nodding slowly, she moved towards the stairs, her eyes on the undertaker. In a flash, she turned and fled up the stairs until she was out of sight, making her way to the top where she thought the others might be. Hearing soft voices behind the door there, she knew she was right. She knocked sharply a few times, and then threw open the door. "Sorry to interrupt." She told the two, as she awkwardly stood there, wringing her hands together. "Vienna... there's a guy, uh, here for you. Specifically asked for you."

Daliah Noire, eighteen years old and a "new" person. She swore to her parents that she would change and be a better person when they moved. Well moving day had arrived and she now stood in her new room in her new house in a new town. She hated the change, all of it was so unfamiliar to her, but she promised her parents she would try and that wasn't a promise she intended on breaking. She sat on one of the many boxes in her room and let out a huff of annoyance seeing her phone wasn't getting service and that they would have to change her service plan to one that worked with the area she was in. The girl tucked a strand of her beautiful, curly, brown hair behind her ear. Her almond brown eyes scanned the room and she decided to set up her string of lights for her wall around her bed and smiled once she had finished. The lights gave off a rather simple vibe, but she liked it. After spending a few minutes arranging her new room she got extremely bored and decided to go explore. She exited the comfort of her room and down the stairway down the hall. She made her way to the front door before yelling so that her parents would be aware of where she was going.

"Mom! Dad! I'm leaving, I need some fresh air!" she shouted and opened the door and stepped out of the building.

Once the female was out of her new home, she squinted her eyes. Her room had been much darker than the sun, it seemed to reflect off of everything outside. The brightness of the town made her want to go back inside, but she decided against it. Slowly, she started walking down the street and her eyes began to adjust to the natural light that illuminated the world around her. She got a strange feeling as she waled along the narrow sidewalk. Something felt off, there was something wrong about the town; she just couldn't put her finger on it. Maybe it was the fact that the birds seemed rather quiet or that there weren't very many people out and about. She figured that it was probably just early and the people liked to sleep in. She shrugged it off and smiled as a light breeze hit her and blew her wild curls back. Her smile seemed so pure and her eyes crinkled at the corners.

The silence around her allowed her mind to wander in thought. As she walked she started thinking of all of the fun she had in her old town. Like the time she went to the middle of no where with her friends and they just hung out and danced around until it got dark. Once the sun had gone down they brought out glow sticks and they made a little fire. They told stories and made jokes, they also played a little game of truth or dare and needless to say a lot of people ended up kissing which caused all of them to be confused about their sexuality for a few days. Then there was the time at the field where they all just laid down in the cool grass and gazed at the stars. It was a rather quiet night for them, only speaking a few times. Everyone except for Daliah and Andrew ended up leaving after about two hours. The two just laid there together, Andrew held Daliah so tight, she had never felt more safe.

Reality hit her and she was now angry at herself for thinking about him. Why was she wasting her thoughts on him when he clearly wasn't giving her even a second of thought. He didn't deserve even the slightest amount of her brain space. She started to calm herself down and looked around her. She was completely unaware of where she was and she sighed before mentally scolding herself for not paying attention to where she was going. She kicked a rock and stuck her hands in her pocket and continued walking in hopes that she would find someone who was able to tell her where she was.

The day was slow, clock hands taking small eternities to tick, the sun still high in the sky as if it hadn't budged an inch. Mortimer, halfway through his task of alphabetising his collection of books, had paused and began arguing with himself over the decision of how helpful it would be and whether or not he should put them under themes and genre. It wasn't long before he'd given up entirely and spent a good five minutes contemplating the importance of his existence amongst piles of sprawled tomes. He reached his feet, pulling himself up with the assistance of a nearby shelf to straighten out creases in his shirt, rolling up the sleeves over forearms but in keeping just below the elbow. If anything wallowing in unwanted grief wasn't the most productive activity he could've chosen. The Vampire was antsy, having not kept up with regular feedings and thus subsisting for a small while on mediocre animal blood. It never did entirely take away that gnawing hunger in the pit of his stomach; even thinking about it made his incisors ache. It would have to be tonight before he got too bad again and started losing function of intellectual thought.

Briarwood tucked the War and Peace volume under his arm, wallet stuffed in his back pocket accompanied by housekeys. He could do with a walk and perhaps swing by the cafe if it was a possibility, some fresh air would be good for his taxed mind and the growing appetite for blood. Locking up behind him, the Vampire drew a hand over his chin and huffed. Perhaps there was a chance he might even solve his issue over the system of how he'd arrange the library a little too big for his home. Yet asking him to throw any out would be heresy to such a creature who had dedicated his livelihood to obtaining knowledge for some unneeded use. It wasn't as if he could pass it down to someone. And he doubted anyone wanted to learn various forms of dead languages or read Moby Dick. Then again, it was quite a novel that rambled. One of the reasons he'd grown to almost like the modern day and age, was the new and accepted range of literary forms that excluded the awful Dicken's types. Sometimes it was better to just get to the point if possible.

His distinct figure wasn't hard to miss as he strode down the pavement, hair loosely tied back in addition to his smart attire and dawdling pace. A tall man, vaguely intimidating if not for his casual demeanour. Mortimer tucked his thumb into a belt-loop, moving past the residential area and further toward the centre of town. He'd lived in Redwood for the better part of a century and it was practically impossible for the Vampire to get lost even if he tried. But with the admittance, he felt that perhaps in the next decade or so, moving house could be on the books. Mortimer hadn't travelled much since after he returned home, 1919. The escalation of war and decrease in the kindness of humanity had made the old creature wary. When he joined the Great War, what they were told would end all wars of the modern age, Briarwood hadn't been prepared for what happened. Witnessing the birth of modern warfare with machines, men, and chemicals. He called it the last war with honour, for come the second, there was nothing but weak men sitting on the shoulders of the strong.

Amidst his distracted thought, he noted a figure walking the opposite direction as himself, Mortimer hesitating when he realised it wasn't someone he knew. A resident from out of town he supposed. Even after the time he'd spent in Redwood, there was always a surprise at new faces appearing. Nevertheless, he began to suppose it was quite the location for supernatural beings and humans alike. Normally youth, however, preferred cities -- at least that hadn't changed in the time he'd been alive.

Luna Fang was too disturbed by all the noise and the amount of people in the house so opted to stand outside on the street. She still felt pretty sick so was chewing on grass in an attempt to soothe her stomach ache, despite the fact she had brought it upon herself by eating that much that fast. She could not control it. She knew what was considered proper by humans but mentally, she was still a wild and carnivorous animal that could not allow herself to grow hungry in the danger of never finding another meal. It baffled her that humans not only had plenty to eat most of the time but even dictated times of the day where it was considered appropriate to eat. Luna could not understand it, and frankly it made her frustration towards humans stronger. Of course they had enough to eat. They stole it from the earth. Granted Luna Fang herself hunted in the past but that was only when food was actually needed! She would have killed one or possibly two elk. Humans would kill the whole herd for nothing but their antlers. It made no sense.

Despite her mental turbulence, Luna Fang's face remained stoic and unchanged. However, she was brought out of her thoughts as a familiar scent wafted into her nose. Swallowing the grass in one swift gulp, she looked around as her nose twitches subtly as she sniffed around her. Suddenly she snapped her gaze to her right, noticing a man standing close to her. His sharp features and the sweeping black mane that hung over his shoulders were familiar. Luna Fang narrowed her eyes a little as she tried to remember where she had seen him. As she looked at him, she got another waft of his scent and it then clicked. He was the Vampire that had fought Judah the night before.

If that was not enough, he seemed to be eyeing up a younger girl with brilliantly coloured hair who Luna had never seen before. She frowned slightly, lowering her eyebrows subtly as she studied the situation, the white fur on her back erecting. She had to be sure...
"'Ey." She took a few steps towards the vampire, seeing that she was just slightly taller than him. Then again at 6'5 ft this was an uncommon occurrence given she usually towered over people. She forced herself to pretend her stomach ache didn't exist. She couldn't show weakness, no matter the situation. "Mind tellin' how you were fightin' with that... wolf before?" She asked. She knew her grammar was awful but she did not care, all she was doing at this point was trying to cover her sharp teeth from his vision, not to mention as to not alert the girl. It was bad enough that weird Undertaker knew what she was, she didn't need the whole fecking town knowing too!

The silence of the seemingly empty town was starting to annoy her. She needed some sound other than the chirping birds who couldn't seem to do anything other than screech in a highly unfavorable tone. She needed voices, people, some sort of interaction. Being alone was hardly ever something she enjoyed, especially not now that she was in an entirely new area. She looked around once more, a few of her curls hitting her tan face. Now that she thought about it, she was almost certain that the sun was shining down on her tanned skin that it made her look golden. Her friends had said it reminded them of a goddess and she couldn't help but to allow a grin to creep onto her face for a moment.

The smile soon wiped off of young Daliah's face when she remembered that she was quite lost. Just as that thought crossed her pretty little mind, she heard a voice. That voice soon turned into a person when she snapped her head over to face where she had heard the voice come from. Her almond eyes squinted a bit due to the sun being in her eyes. She soon saw two people and she raised a brow. The female that had spoken approached the man that she had just discovered. She couldn't here their conversation, she could just hear that they were talking. She contemplated interrupting their conversation to ask for directions. While she was pondering that decision, her mind began to wander. It seemed to do that a lot recently.

The place her mind wandered to wasn't the past, no. This time she was thinking of how insanely pale the two people were. She knew that people could be pale and all, but the sun here seemed like it would kiss everyone's skin. Maybe it wasn't always like this. Perhaps she had just shown up on a sunny day. Yet something still didn't seem right. She crossed her arms and stood with one hip out to the side while she stared at them. Staring was wrong, obviously she knew that, but she couldn't help herself. Then she began to wonder what they were doing. She began to make up some fake scenario in her head of all of the possible things those two could be doing. She rolled her eyes at herself and snapped out of her own stupid little world. She took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to approach them. As she started making her way towards them she spoke.

"Excuse me, can either of you tell me where exactly I am? I'm new here and I got a bit lost."

She felt stupid for asking the question, but she had no way of calling either of her parents seeing as she had left her phone at home. She tucked a strand of hair behind her hair nervously and fidgeted with her fingers. She was so uncomfortable and didn't know why. For a moment she actually thought about just walking away. She decided against it, seeing as it would be extremely rude of her after initiating the conversation. So she just stood there, playing with her fingers while she waited for an answer.

Mortimer was halted by the vaguely familiar, white-haired woman. He arched his extravagant brow handsomely, looking the girl over from head to toe. It took him a moment to decipher what she was trying to ask before making a small 'ah' and shaking his head. "I don't remember you from last night, unfortunately. I was only involved in the conflict because he was holding a girl by the throat. I don't know about you, but that screams domestic violence and I couldn't be a bystander. He evidently has some form of explosive behavioural issue which is far too complicated to get caught up in." Briarwood somewhat lectured, "It'd be best if you keep a close eye on him if you're friends." He threw nonchalantly on the end.

Daliah's interruption was welcome from the tense conversation; the Vampire turning his head downward to grace the golden-skinned girl with a polite smile, "You're in the old residential area. Places built around eighteen hundred if you will, but local history isn't the most impressive hobby." Mortimer adjusted himself, facing Daliah and glancing off behind her till those dark, redwood irises returned to her cherubic features. "Town is that way," He pointed over her head, "If you're looking for it that is. I'm headed there should you need help finding it." Briarwood offered. He again let his eyes flicker to Luna. "Are you going that way as well? Or is this your residence?" The black-haired male inquired, skin as fine as ivory. Not a blemish upon the entirety of his expression, which further contrasted his neatly groomed beard. "We could speak more if you so desire on the events of yesterday evening."

There was always something ethereal with Mortimer, perhaps from being alive so long, or perhaps due to his high-born ways of old etiquette and grace. Nevertheless, he was less of an Edward Cullen, and more of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Disarmingly charming when need be and certainly less sparkly. He stood broad-shouldered with a slighter waist, being no small man for his size and rather athletic. He'd been a soldier once and thus it made sense. Thankfully he'd not been turned immortal after years of gluttony -- what a tragedy that would've been.

He took a step forward, each step on the pavement asserting confident assuredness of exactly where he was going. The Vampire, for once, desired he could turn into a bat and make it quicker, if not cartoonishly hilarious in terms of the overused cliche. Mortimer held his nonexistent breath and smiled again with a nod. "Well, the offer is there, ladies. I suppose it's good day." Bowing his head, Briarwood twiddled the insignia ring on his finger and hummed a rather jaunty tune -- some familiar folk song from days of yore.

Luna Fang kept very silent as the man explained the exact reason why he had intervened the way he had. He mentioned something about domestic violence. A concept that was still very alien to her. For some reason humans felt the need to abuse each other as well as animals. It made no sense.
"...Didnea see tha'." She frowned slightly, well as slightly as Luna emoted, which was barely so her expression didn't change except for the subtlest of movement from her brows. She didn't like this man. He gave off an aura that put her off.

She was about to grunt something else when the sound of the brilliant haired girl piped up, grabbing her attention. She seemed unfamiliar with the town. Luna scoffed internally, she knew that feeling. Lived here about a decade and STILL knew nothing about the town. It seemed to distract the dark haired man which Luna found a relief. Talking to her as if this was et problem, it wasn't her problem! She had her own problems. Call her selfish but that's what she felt. She was about to turn away when the man asked her another question, if she was going to move or if she lived at that house.

"No." She grunted before simply looking down at the girl aloofly. She was unsure as to what to say to her, given she didn't know her. When Mortimer mentioned her accompanying him, Luna simply shifted her eyes. Whatever was going on in that house was no concern of hers. "...Sure." She finally answered, still her in her usual flat tone. She didn't have anything to lose, right?

View attachment 420518 Vienna watched as Judah looked peaceful in his sleep, she figured he wasn't entirely asleep.

It took no genius to know what Vienna was talking about.

Of course; she was talking about love. Love for him, to be more specific, and it made Judah wonder how long exactly had she been feeling this for him. He watched her tell him her thoughts on their friendship, that she thought it was deep and real, to her at least. She had pitted her hopes too high---and it cut Judah to the core to hurt her this way. And for a moment, he thought that maybe he too would've felt the same way. In some other reality, some other time, he would've maybe felt the same way.
But no. Not after Julia...after Veronica...those two ended in disaster. What difference would this one make?

She wasn't asking for forgiveness. That was good---Judah wasn't looking for it. He didn't know what he wanted at the moment. Did he ever? All this time, he had been living for himself. But a little part of him, deep down, he knew, he wanted to live for someone else. But what she was asking for almost seemed impossible.
No.
He could see her the way she had always been---amazing, beautiful Vienna whose heart was bigger than the Atlantic Ocean, standing by his side when no one else would. That was doable, even with her cursed witch roots.
But what about him?
She saw his monstrous side, saw a glimpse of what he could do, saw just how unstable he was and could be. He wasn't steady as a rock like his father; in fact, he'd even go as far as to ask what she even saw in him to tell him she loved him. He watched her silently as she clenched her fists, as if frustrated with this whole thing, this whole mess, her soft brown curls cascading down and brushing her cheeks, trying to keep herself in check in front of him.
Silence.
Judah knew that if he didn't do something, Vienna would begin to cry. And he hated that, hated when girls cry; especially Vienna, especially when it's because of him. He thought back to the hints of her love for him.
Was it possible? Even after Julia? After Veronica?

Judah let his hand take her balled fist, his other hand going to her brown tresses, pulling her hair back over her ear gently. And then, as if pushed by some unexplainable force, Judah leaned over, slowly, as if he was almost hesitating to do it. His gaze locked with her lips, and in mere moments, his locked against hers, in one passionate but serene kiss.

It was golden. Judah almost felt liberated, as if this was what he had been craving to do for a long time. He didn't know what impulse had pushed him to do it---Vienna must be surely flustered, but enjoying it all the same. Judah felt the familiar wolfish push for this kiss to go farther, to let that drive lull him, but something stopped him.

His senses of pleasure may have been distracted, but it seemed his senses of hearing and smell were perfectly capable of hearing and scenting the newcomer. Suddenly, his senses could pick up the slight drop in the atmosphere; that tinge of death, almost of gloom. The tension thickened immediately, and Judah's hypersensitive hearing picked up the voices downstairs, hearing the slight cocking of a gun.

Judah stiffened, breaking away from the increasingly passionate kiss before it could go any farther, his gaze right at the door. He whipped the covers off him, muttering close to Vienna's ear,
"Enemy."

He hauled himself off the bed, not caring for a shirt and let his hunter's instincts take over; sneaking out the door and down the upstairs hallway, his footsteps light as a feather despite his large size. He crept down the stairs, hearing a portion of the conversation, sensing Vienna's friend Lissa, fear radiating off of her. Judah couldn't really see Luna anywhere, but at the moment, his focus was on the stranger. A tall figure with a hat, dirty blonde hair peeking out. The stench of death radiated off of him, which made Judah even more guarded. As he crept down the last steps of the stairs, his hard, cold gaze right on the stranger, he growled, his tone low and tense.
"Who are you?"

Nicola sighed as she sat in the small town café pouring over documents from her parents estate. She had spent the last few days trying to make some form of arrangements for the cash flow of the family. She counted herself lucky her uncle had stepped in to manage the various businesses in her parents portfolio for her since she had no idea where to even start with that side of things. Sipping her Latte, she checked her phone for any messages. Her brothers were at some basketball camp for a week so she was using the quiet time to get things under control once and for all, since she and her brothers had equal shares the cash had to go three ways.

Feeling like she was finally getting somewhere, she decided to take a break to reward herself. Putting the files away into her bag, she paid for her drink and left. Putting the files away in the car, she locked it and decided to take a walk around town, she had a lot of things to pick up anyway. Walking alone she could not help but think back to when she first moved back to Redwood. She could not help but feel a supernatural vibe in the air and it was not just her. As these things went she thought to some of the people she saw around town.

Finding herself in a park hugged by the tree line, she could see it was early into the evening, but the sun had not set yet. Sitting down on a bench, Nicola opened a book and decided to enjoy the balmy evening and ready

The Redwood forests. A place of peace and tranquility, animals frolicked. It had been considered a natural reserve ever since the abundance of natural flora and fauna had repopulated it, vermin and hunters alike seemingly dying out and no longer appearing in the shaded pines and leafy ferns. Most small-media in the area had covered it, the more boisterous even willing to go a few feet into the forest to appear as though they were surrounded by the misty greenery. Few however did - it seemed as though something inherent, something deep within human instinct loathed the idea, and most hearts would scatter upon entering the lively woods.
Perhaps they could hear him when they stood a hideous false foot upon the land, hide-covered boots entrenched in the great earth.

1523426994414.png

1523427359281.png

Ori was patient. He hadn't been when he was young, he hadn't been patient enough to wait for the mist of the woods to rise when he had set out to hunt. It was perhaps this folly that had caused him to learn patience, to realise the power of it and perhaps where it was best seen. Or it could be the many years of silence in the woods - the woods tend to make a quieter soul of even the most boisterous personalities. Regardless, he sat on the edge of the border sometimes, so still and lifeless the birds would nestle in his branches - His eyes open by such a slight centimetre that no creature had seen the possibility of an animate monstrosity lurking between the gnarled wood of his frame. People watching, despite his more then negative ambivalence towards the living, was a past-time of his. Humans were...erratic. Animals can be relied on - despite the occasional neurological abnormalty they would stick to life, hunt breed and feel what they needed to carve out their place in the woods. Humans? They were lead by ribbons that would flicker around them, almost always dancing out of reach and only occasionally being grabbed by the most desperate to achieve. Perhaps this wasn't the best way of thinking - To see them as less then the others of the woods. Yet Ori felt.. discontent when comparing himself to them - for the majority of his afterlife he'd barely even remembered what he looked like as a human, and barely felt any trace of irrational feelings anymore. The only thing he felt was comparable was the anger- as much as he had calmed himself, his anger remained as human as ever, raging even now as burning embers.

So perhaps this is why he felt the need to mentally sneer at the park they had developed across the Redwood forest fence. Pathetic thing - trying to imitate the forest right next to it? Pah! It was comparing the scratches of a child to that of a masterful artist. The only thing it might have would be less birds crapping on him - something he could feel was going to be a current trend with the nest being built between his 'spine' and his 'neck'. Birds....

While reading her book, Nicola could feel a pair of eyes on her. Casually stretching to spy and look around
she could see nobody and this only served to un-nerve her. She thought about calling out but this would only
make things worse.

Maybe its time I head back home

She thought to herself as she put a book mark inside the book she had been reading. Getting up, she grabbed her
bag and made her way casually towards her car. Unlocking it, she put her bag inside before proceeding to start up
the car, the feeling of being watched still washing over her. Reversing out she did not even look back as she drove
casually towards her home.

Daliah watched as the man turned away from the woman he had been speaking to. She felt rather rude for intruding on their conversation. She listened as the male told her about where she was and she raised her brow at the way he spoke. It was definitely a bit odd, but she had no reason to be judging the male for having some intelligence. She took a moment to think about what he had said and watched as he pointed in some direction. She was grateful because that was exactly where she needed to go.

The young girl took a moment to think about the man's offer and figured there would be no harm in going with him. If something were to happen, she was almost certain that the town was so silent that if she were to scream it would alert someone and they would come to her aide. And despite her frail appearance, she wasn't too fragile and for the most part she could handle herself.

"There is a ninety percent chance that I will get lost again, so I think I'll take you up on the offer of going to town with you," her voice was sweet and her almond eyes began to wander his features.

The man appeared to be in his mid to late twenties. His hair was very long and black with waves that reminded her of the ocean and it seemed so soft that she was tempted to just reach her hand out and touch it. She had to stick her hands in her pockets to prevent herself from acting on her impulses. She then let her eyes wander his face and took note of the fact that he was ghostly white. She didn't understand how someone could be so pale, but she decided that asking would be very rude. Instead she flicked her eyes over to the female when she began to speak. Had the man asked another question while she had so rudely zoned out. The thought brought a red color to her tanned cheeks and caused her to look at the floor.

Krystian would awaken from a deep profound slumber that was definitely needed since he did nothing all day but work his ass off at his very own indoor basketball court. Working on fast break conditioning drills, jump shooting drills, defensive drills, various sprinting drills, and making sure he made 500 made shots in a row and getting onto the free weights lastly--all of which was tiring as hell. He worked out for a good hour and a half and each minute felt like he was going to collapse on the hardwood floor, but he still pushed through and was sweating buckets after such a training that felt like torture; no wonder why he is known for his insane work ethic.
He hopped up out of his bed, still feeling sore from the rigorous training he put his body through, and then huskily grunted in pain and breathed heavily as he clutched onto his midsection with his left arm, also coughing severely. It was a bruised rib. The right side of his midsection would be darkened purple by a ferocious blow he sustained from his last football game against the North High Hawks; a competitive and a rival team to the Redwood Bulldogs. "I guess I should take it easier on the field next time," Krystian noted to himself with a deep-based suave voice, and a sweet chuckle that was light as a feather; Krystian would take injuries like this lightly but it would still give him a mental reminder to prevent injury whether it was from the basketball court or on the football field.
Being a star point guard and quarterback for basketball and football and being both team captain for those teams instantly gave Krystian a lot of pressure, and expectations, but in classy fashion, Krystian did not focus on the pressure and hype, and exceeded those expectations. A true high-school phenom athlete, and looking to be the "next big thing" in sports. But with Krystian, hitting the books was also a must, and many are surprised by Krystian's sharp intelligence since the stereotypical jock in movies, books, and TV shows are either a dumbass bully. But Krystian was far from that "dunce jock" who bullies for pure entertainment in television and books. He treats everybody with sincere respect. But Krystian won't lie to you and tell you that it is easy, balancing sports and school but he would still be able to pull it off like it was no effort.
Despite feeling sore all over his body and feeling a stabbing displeasing pain on the right side of his ribcage, he would still muster up the strength to walk over to the washroom while letting out a stiff sigh. On his way, he would check his phone and be surprised at the many text notifications he had received and it would turn out to be about some sort of party that was going on last night. He was not aware of the party last night since his phone was a constant distraction during his workouts, and he would always put his phone on silent and after his exhausting training, he would be too tired to even look through his phone. From the text messages, it must've been a wild night for everyone who is in attendance. And of course with wild parties there would be alcohol; a beverage that all of his teammates and friends try to convince him to drink, but sadly for them Krystian doesn't drink and tries his best to stray away from any alcoholic beverage, although it would be an exception if it was red, or any fine wine or if he was at a very special occasion/event. "Dang man, that's crazy. I guess it would've been dope to go that party and see a 'werewolf' and a few 'vampires'." Krystian let out a childish laugh at his own remark as he continued to read over the texts his friends sent to him from last night festivities of what happened, and seeing that he doesn't even believe in those things nor even scared of them he would proceed to childishly snicker. No disrespect to anybody who does believe in monsters and the undead and whatnot, but he just thought of it as stories to scare children. He has heard some stories of those very mythical creatures that lurked out in the night from his father since he was a little kid, but it was all for jokes and to make Krystian go to bed, and that's what they were, just mythical creatures and folklore told from generations that don't even exist.
He proceeded to enter into his luxurious and spacious washroom, and brush his teeth and wash his face. Maybe a small walk outside would do me some good, it'll probably make me feel more awake. Thought Adams as he dried his face off, he knew the weather wasn't the best since it was raining and all but he decided it will do him some good despite the current injury he has, and the current weather. "Alright, let's get it," Krystian stated to himself with a firm voice. He dropped the refreshing scented soft warm beige-colored towel that he used to dry his face with onto the sink's counter and turned off the lights on his way out of the washroom.

"Excellent, I see between us it should make for a rather interesting walk." The Vampire remarked, beginning to stride off, although halting momentarily to turn back toward both women. "Oh, I should mention, the names Mortimer. It's a pleasure to meet you both." He then motioned again in the direction of town, pinning the book under his arm whilst adjusting his shirt as he continued. "New faces are getting rarer to find you know, nobody really stays longer than they have to. It's a nice enough place, granted boring at times, but people around these parts usually busy themselves with silly stories about creatures of the night. The children especially. I wouldn't pay them any mind if I were you." Briarwood glanced back, specifically toward Daliah yet continued on.

"I'm sure this place had its fair share of witch trials, putting thoughts in peoples heads even now. I find it rather amazing how we view time, don't you? Only five hundred years ago, it was the Tudor rule. Five hundred years is a speck of dust in the terms of the universe. The progression from plague epidemics to antibiotics is among far the standing testaments of humans desire to push onwards and upwards -- no matter the cost to our environment." He chuckled nonchalantly, "Again, I must apologise for the rambling. Small talk was never a particularly big strong suit of mine."

Although Mortimer was evidently of British origin, the pronunciation of some words was off. Each having a peculiar twang of Germanic and French, making it harder to pinpoint his exact origins. Nevertheless, Briarwood was brought up speaking Anglo-Saxon and varied types of Middle English that clung desperately now, more or less standing against the tides of adopting the laxer American way of wording.

A good five or ten minutes of walking, and the town began to become visible. Shops slowly inhabiting the high street, fading out the further they were and increasing the closer they got. Although a quiet day, there was certainly more activity in the town-centre than anywhere else the sun breaking through the drizzling cloud cover for a moment to offer some respite from the solemn weather. Briarwood pointed off toward a nearby cafe. "Best place for coffee, the only place you'll get it. Take it or leave it sort of place."

4712e3037374415bb7f6b282287b8b65--demi-rose-mawby-beauty-girls.jpg Vienna felt a warm hand take her hand. She hadn't realized that she had made her hand into a fist and when she realized that, she quickly opened up her hand. Vienna looked down at Judah and took a deep breath, she needed to remain calm. She couldn't be afraid of him, he was still the same person. He just had another side to him that was a bit more 'spiritual' sorta say. Vienna didn't really see that the word 'animal' fit Judah's persona. As she looked at him, she saw that he was indeed still the same person that she knew and loved. All that was different was that he could transform into something else. Vienna loved Judah, and she knew that no matter what he was, she would always see him as what he was before all of this happened. Vienna couldn't ever imagine losing the one person who she held near and dear to her heart. She loved Judah, and she just wished that he felt the same for her. Vienna knew of the women named Julia, the girl who he would always mutter her name. And now she knew Veronica, his past lover. It was certainly a lot for Vienna to take him, and she knew that Judah would probably never be able to talk about what happened. Vienna also knew that she would be the one to try and bring it up, she felt like he needed closure, and talking about it might help him. She just wished that he knew that, instead of putting up this persona.

Vienna was sitting down next to him on the edge of the bed when she saw him leaning in towards her. Vienna didn't know what to do at first, so she hesitated, but surely enough, she stopped herself from doing so. Their lips had touched, it felt magical to her. Vienna's cheek's were as red as ever, and she could feel the warmth that was rising in them. Vienna had never been kissed by someone, period. This was her first real kiss believe it or not, that Judah took from her. Vienna wasn't compliantly, but a whole bunch of thoughts were racing in her mind right now. When her kiss with Judah was interrupted by Lissa, Vienna had gasped.

Lissa was talking about how there was somebody downstairs that needed to see her. Vienna saw the look on Lissa's face and she could tell that Lissa was afraid, Vienna got up from where she was but when she looked on the bed, Judah was already gone. All she heard were rapid footsteps moving away from the bedroom. Vienna walked pasted Lissa and gave her a tight reassuring squeeze on her shoulder.

Vienna walked quickly down the hallway and she looked down the staircase to where Judah was and the stranger. Vienna took a couple of steps down the stairs and stood behind Judah. "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" Vienna asked the stranger sternly.
