Elentiya woke to a pounding on her door.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Suddenly, her mother's voice shouts through the door. "Elentiya Celaena Locke! You better be ready to go to school! It is your first day and you are over an hour late!" Her footsteps then retreat away.
Elie throws her covers back and darts around her messy room, getting dressed. She dons an oversized sweatshirt that hangs to mid-thigh, with converse on her feet. She scoops her satchel off her floor and darts out of her room and the house. When she is down the street, her body suddenly grows and expands until she is a huge timber wolf.
The wolf is the size of a horse, with a white coat speckled with grey. Its golden eyes take in its surroundings as it takes great steps. Soon, it slows as it enters the courtyard of the school. The golden orbs of the wolf flick to the two winged students in the middle of the space.
