Fantasy The Return of Corruption

Cross saw Arabelle approaching Katherine's room "oh hey Arabelle hows it going?" I was just coming to check up on Katherine. Nothing else going on hehe."
@Paint The Wind
"Check up? Or do a little more" Arabelle said with a smirk. "I just wanted to make sure she was alright. We used to be really close."

Kathrine had been staring at her legs, the deep wounds that had been caused from the silver dagger that was plunged into her legs multiple times had been healed into large scars now.

Kathrine's eyes flashed gold, a bright gold. Kathrine jumped at the sound of a knock, she hesitated at the door for a moment before opening it to Cross and Arabelle "Hey" she said somewhat softly.

"I honestly think I'm done with hero work after this. I want to settle down with Arabelle. I can keep doing my bounties, but the death marches will have to cease."
"What about you?"
Tyr shrugged. "I don't know, really. I tried to settle down. But then there was the war. You want to know something sad? I don't think that people like us can settle down. Sure I love my wife and my son, but when fighting becomes all that you have ever done, and then you just stop? It's scary to say this, but I think I needed that war. You can't just transition from about twenty years of fighting to two years of parenting that easily. I think I would have gone mad, you know?"

Arabelle smiled sadly at her. "I just wanted to check on you. Do you want some tea? I made some, I could bring it up here for you."

"Hey I saw you looking out the window when me and Ciri were training. So I came up here to make sure you were ok and if you needed someone to talk to." Cross turned to Arabelle "how about I get the tea. You two can talk in the meantime."

Ari understood perfectly. "Well there's a difference between fighting and death marching. I for one won't stop doing my bounties. I get my fix from assassinations and subduing. I'm referring to the hero work. King-slaying and the like. Have you ever tried blade-for-hire work? You never have to sink as low as the black market like I do, but you still get your fighting fix."

He put his hand on Tyr's shoulder. "At the end of the day though, if you need eyes and talons from afar, just get me and I'll help you with whatever."

Corvo walked diligently into one of the many local pubs in the vicinity. Though the one called: "The Bastard Dragon" peaked his interest. As he entered the establishment, Corvo had caught wind of several individuals in the background talking. Corvo took a seat at the serving table, next to the group of what seemed like adventurers.

There he'd heard the lines: "I don't think that people like us can settle down." Further peaking his interest into the man, and his comrades conversation.

"Excuse me." Corvo's deep voice seemed to echo towards the man.

"What do you mean "people like you". Are you all by chance.. Against Alreos?"

Kathrine pulled Arabelle in for a hug. She needed it, she hugged her tightly before pulling away. "Sure that would be great, thanks Cross" thanking him for getting the tea. She looked at both of them "I'm fine, really I'm fine" she lied with a smile.

"That's something I can get behind!" Tyr said, as they walked in the door to the pub. After ordering a mug of ale, Tyr, Ari and Vayne sat down in a booth. "So, what are you having to drink?"

Arabelle hugged her back gently. "You aren't fine, I can tell. You're scared and you're upset. Do you want to tell me about it? It might feel better to get it off your chest."

Tyr gripped at the handle of his dagger. "I don't think you would want any trouble, would ye?"

Corvo let out a genuine laugh, at the question appointed towards him.

"An assassin never kiss, and tells. But in your case." Corvo flirtatiously winked, "I just might." Corvo's smile, and cheery banter quickly subsided, switching to a more serious tone now, answering the stranger's question.

"I do not. No I haven't received a contracted target from the man - And I can't say I'm overly saddened. I don't agree with the man's viewpoints, and I take it you all feel the same."

Corvo nodded at the obvious hidden daggers from both strangers.

"May I join you all? I heard you on the way in talking about assassination, it's something I specialize in."

(Corvo was only playfully winking btw. lol)

Then Tyr looked over to see that there was a band playing in the pub. His eyes lit up as he saw that one of the men was holding a fiddle. "Hey Ari? I'll be right back. And Vayne, if you get drunk, go easy on the lad, okay?" Tyr said, as downed his mug of ale and then ran up to the stage.

(You know what I'm calling these next few posts the "Cross never gets invited" posts)

Cross placed the tea down in the room Katherine and Arabelle were in. "You two can talk I'll be outside the door if you need anything else."

Tyr snatched up the fiddle and jumped onto the table. "LADIES.. AND A-GENTLEMEN! I FEEL AS IF THIS PUB IS NOT IN THE RIGHT MOOD! DOES ANYONE ELSE AGREE?!" Tyr shouted, as the crowd cheered in agreement. "THE WHAT SAY IF WE SHOULD SING OURSELVES A LITTLE DRINKING SONG, EH?!" The crowd once again cheered. Tyr turned to the band. "Join in when it's time, 'kay boys?" Tyr twirled the bow in his hands before sliding it across the strings of the fiddle. He looked over at Ari and smiled in a way that said 'this is happening, no matter if you like it or not'. Then he started to sing in a welsh accent.

(I can sing this entire song without missing a beat. NO REGRETS!)

Ari stroked his small beard. "Hmmmmm." Assassins do have a code of honor like any other knight. It was just vastly different. Ari unsummoned his dagger. "Alright then. If you specialize in contract killing, what is your preferred method? We don't need another swing-happy dumbass."

Tyr ran up onto the stage. "Like that guy."
Corvo then returned his gaze on the stranger ahead of him. "A Code of Silence you mean, there is no honor in killing at the beckoning of others. None at all.."

"As an Assassin I specialize in all killing methods. For example take the man you just called a "swing-happy dumbass" for starters. As an Assassin, you must be able to sympathize, and play the role of any, and every personality, be it the silent, joyful, excitable.

As an Assassin specializing in one method will get you killed, which is why you need to specialize in every method.

Assassin's are actors in the end, we must play our roles diligently, and thoroughly to the very end. You must relate to your targets, find a common interest, gain their trust, then strike. That is what an Assassin's methods are, blending it to all aspects of the human psyche."

Corvo put his hand on his head, and laughed. "I'm sorry, I tend to babble about this type of stuff, I've been told I'd been a great teacher if this type of work hadn't been in my bloodline."

Bailey walked into the pub the boys and Vayne were at after drying her hair and putting Alex to bed. She immediately regretted her choice to join them. "Oh boy, what is he doing now?" She muttered, rubbing her temples. She looked at Tyr sighed.

As Tyr finished his song, he jumped down from the table and took a bow. Being a bard, he never missed a chance to show off his musical skills, and loved the applause. He handed the man his fiddle and sat back down at the booth. "So, did I miss anything?"

@Kylesar1

Corvo laughed at new sight. A man busting through the pub yelling at the top of his lungs for whiskey.

"Aye aye!" Corvo shouted back, beckoning for the stranger to take a seat with the group.

@ArcticVoid

Ari yawned. His ale was calling. "I want you to take another crack at that. This time in 10 words or less. You're talking to Black Assassin here. I know every assassin trick in the book. If you have another lecture, I don't have the time......Now I ask: What is your preferred killing method?"

@Kylesar1[/URL]
"Nothing. This guy is trying to give me lessons in Assassin 101 as if my ale has the time to wait."
