Nora

As much as Nora didn't want to tell Yuu about her memory loss she finally had to. She was having memories that apparently didn't happen in this life, and this became something Nora couldn't handle on her own. She needed help remembering her current life AND her past life! Thankfully, Yuu was an amazing person and partner. Every day he helped her remember something new and eventually she was able to recall most things from her life. They attended college together, shared friends that they had in the last life, and stayed together after graduation. They were still together after a year of Nora being thousands of miles away at school, Nora knew she loved him and cared for him. She also knew that he shared those feelings. They had their last life to thank for meeting each other.

By the time Delphina and Raven ended up getting eloped Nora could remember that they were friends, though her body was still healing from the crash and she wasn't allowed to fly. They looked so happy together. The wedding even made her cry! Would Yuu and Nora end up getting married? What did their life look like if she never got her memories back? If medical school didn't work out it wouldn't be the end of the world. At least she had Yuu and her friends.

How long had she been living with Yuu now? Four months? It flew by, and the thought of having to leave him again for medical school broke her up inside. She was put on a six month hold from school due to her health. Thankfully all of the bruising and swelling went away, the fractures and breaks finally healed so she could move normally again. And her memories were almost back. Honestly? Life for once seemed perfect.

Yuu was running late at work so Nora busied herself to make sure dinner was ready for him. However, when the power went out and the room went black she froze for a minute. Quickly she fumbled to pull her phone and flipped on the flashlight. "There's not even a storm..." Nora sighed quietly and walked into the bedroom with the fuse box. As she flipped open the box she noticed the switches were all in the on position. What was happening?

Suddenly sharp cold steel pressed to her neck and she froze. "You weren't meant to live like this Nora, you're disturbing the timeline. I must put an end to what you and the others have. Something my predecessor failed to do." Just as the cold steel bit into the sensitive skin of her neck a car locked outside. The lights flickered on, the voice and whatever was to her neck was gone. Her heart pounded as every synapse in her brain fired, every single memory from her past lives and this one piecing together perfectly. Gently she touched her neck to find that it was indeed bleeding slightly from the cut of the blade.

Everest

At first Everest didn't leave Jason's house. How could Viola do this? Everest and Marisol did this for a living, it happened every now and then that a woman went back to their shitty partner. But Viola was smart, over the course of the week she had done things that affirmed she was done with him. So Everest begged her, he pleaded her, and he ended up getting dragged away by security. Castor posted his bail, thankfully it was low because of Everest's service to the community and his reputation. Once he got back home though he was completely heartbroken. The house was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Viola wanted nothing to do with him again, Marisol and Castor were gone, and he couldn't possibly bother anyone else.

Everest did his best for the next few months to pretend he was okay. He poured the rest of his being into his work to hide the fact that he was empty inside. A few of the wives had even asked him on some dates after he successfully proved their husbands were cheating low lives. So he tried, gave it a good old college try, but his heart just wasn't into it. Everest only wanted one person and he wasn't enough for her.

The new morning routine was writing out a message to Viola before deleting it. She chose the life she wanted and Everest wanted to respect her choices. His protests didn't mean anything to her anymore. The spare room was converted into a home gym where he spent all of his free time, having buffed up quite a bit. So when his phone quit playing his music and started to ring Viola's ringtone he stumbled over his weights on the floor to reach the phone to pick up.

He'd like to say he never thought he'd receive a phone call but the statistics of women in her situations told him otherwise. That didn't mean he wasn't going to be there for her. She needed him and he'd drop anything for her. Immediately he threw a t-shirt on and ran out to his car, and sped the whole way over to her. Viola sounded hurt and every time he replayed her words in his head his foot pushed harder on the gas.

Once there he hopped out of the car, left it running, and banged on the door to the large home. "Viola are you okay?! I'm here, let's go!" His heart was pounding harder than it ever had, he was considering breaking down the door to get to her faster.

Castor

Living with Marisol was his dream come true. She had always been his best friend, so whatever she wanted to do with the house he didn't mind. He got her a nice car so she had transportation while he was at training, he got her front row tickets to every game and proudly showed her off. Coming home at night used to be terrible, but with her? He couldn't wait to come home. Before her Castor ate out for every meal, had an empty refrigerator, had only paper plates and a few mugs for the k-cup coffee maker he had. The house was barren, so he was happy to let her decorate to her hearts content. Hell, he even gave her a card linked to his account. Giving her a good life was something he dreamed off and now it was reality.

When he got a call from Everest for bail money he couldn't help but snicker. Big bad Everest in jail for trespassing? You have to admit it's a little funny. Of course he posted bail for the guy and of course he told Marisol, but he didn't let the others know about it. Everyone was going through their own shit. Speaking of, Raven and Delphina got married. Castor dressed fancy for the zoom call and everything he was so excited for them. While he wanted to fly out there he couldn't because of his schedule, which bummed him out, but he was absolutely thrilled to see the two of them get married. It even made him think about wedding bells of his own.

Four months later Castor and Marisol were living their best life. Training had just gotten done for the day and the team finished with their meeting, so Castor grabbed his bag and fixed the fancy suit his tailor had made him. Usually after training he'd go for a dip in the river and swim around for a while to let out his scales, but today was different. "Castor have you proposed yet?" The tall dark haired mans face heated up as he shook his head. "Nah, that's actually where I'm headed. We're going to dinner tonight and I'm popping the question." Castor wanted to cook for her but the last time he did that he set the kitchen on fire, after that Marisol banned him from cooking. So he was taking her to a fancy restaurant to give her the custom ring he had ready for her. "Good luck man!"

Castor chuckled and waved goodbye to his friends as he left the locker room. As he approached the truck he swore he could see someone standing in the distance in the parking lot. It was a tall figure in a black robe and he was just standing there, almost like he was watching Castor. Castor furrowed his brows but ignored it and hopped in the vehicle. They were meeting each other soon for dinner soon so he quickly peeled out from the parking lot.

The drive downtown to the restaurant was a quick drive. It usually took months to get into the place but with Castor being who he was he managed to get the best table no problem. The restaurant had a candlelit table reserved overlooking the river for the pair of them, the whole thing was already planned out. Castor let the valet take his car before he headed inside and went straight to the bathroom. Quickly he splashed some water in his face, took a deep breath, and looked up at himself in the mirror.

The lights were off and the man who was in the black robe was directly behind him, only this time he had a scythe. "Who the fuck-" Castor turned around to confront the man but was immediately grabbed by the throat and slammed into the wall, his feet inches above the ground. Castor growled and felt his horns pierce his forehead and talons come out. Quickly he took a swipe at the man and he immediately jumped away from Castor and dropped him. "Who the fuck-" "Castor you've lived a life you were not meant to live. You and your friends are disrupting the balance of life, it is time for your cycle to end." Castor growled and made the connection. Reaper. "I'm not fighting with you. You leave us alone and let us live our life. A-And what do you mean cycle?"

His question wasn't answered though. The lights flickered on and Castor's talons and horns retracted. This was an issue. "Shit." Marisol should have been there by now, so he quickly exited the bathroom and walked to their table. His hand fiddled with the ring box in his pocket.

Marisol

Life had been amazing since she left for Texas with Castor. Never had Marisol, in any life, anticipated she would ever be the cute little gothic house wife but here she was doing just that. Well house girlfriend but that was okay. They got the house decorated and made it much more them, sure a lot of it was black but it was tasteful black. There were many days where Castor would invite his teammates over for dinner and she would cook for them and their significant others if they had one. They had game nights. It was nice... Things seemed to be going okay for the others as well. Marisol wished that she had been able to attend Raven and Delphina's wedding in person but it was so short notice... Raven's health also still seemed dire but at least they were happy for now. Being the girlfriend of a rising NFL star was interesting as well... especially when you look the way Marisol did. At first the pictures that circulated of the two of them made her out to be a witch basically but after a few months thankfully they were taken in a more serious light. It helped that Marisol had assimilated with the other NFL girlfriends, at least the group of nice ones. They all wore Prada and looked ready for a PSL at any moment but they were good people.

The bailing out of Everest was honestly hilarious and she made sure to get a few digs in but let it go after a while, she felt bad for Everest and often tried to convince him to move in with them until he could make a life here. At least down here he would have a support system now that Viola fell off the face of the Earth...

"Yeah, mhm. I have no clue what he has up his sleeve tonight, I'm just happy to not cook tonight. It is TOO damn hot." Marisol chuckled on the phone as she spoke with her mother and finished up getting ready. They were going to some fancy restaurant downtown and she was struggling to figure out what to wear. Her bright yellow hair was pulled into a sleek pony tail and tied back with a black ribbon while her makeup was signature cat liner and big eyelashes with black lipstick. Shoes were easy, black heels. The issue was the dress... Marisol wasn't ashamed of her prosthetic and Castor had seen it plenty but others always gave her gross pity when they saw it... but god dammit she was wearing the cute dress she bought for this date!

After finishing her prep and getting off the phone Marisol called a car to take her to the restaurant. As they drove she watched out the window mindlessly and hummed along to the music the radio was playing. That is until her eyes saw an accident on the side of the road and a man in black robes outside her window. "W-Wait stop!" The car suddenly slammed on the brakes and the driver turned around to her in a panic. "Did you see that?" The driver looked out his window and shook his head before turning back to her and shaking his head. "Oh." Marisol adjusted nervously and looked back out the window to see nothing there anymore. "Sorry, I thought I saw a cat running across the road. I didn't mean to scare you." The driver just waved it off and began driving again but as he did her windows in the back began to fog and writing appeared.

Marisol, you remember that right? The reason you we're never even supposed to have a second chance? Your life is throwing off balance and we will correct things again.

Marisol quickly wiped the window and turned her attention to the phone in her hands and prayed they got to the restaurant quickly. Thankfully it wasn't a long drive and soon she was heading into the beautiful place and trying to shake off her nerves from the incident in the car. She gave the hostess the name and was swiftly led to a table where her fear melted when she finally saw Castor. "Hi love."

Yuu

The past four months were hard but rewarding. Between him recovering from his addictions and trying to help Nora remember things again, they were in a constant uphill battle. But it would all be worth it in the end and that was what kept Yuu moving. Nora got a six month hold on her schooling so Yuu put in a request to put off his start date at Harvard and thankfully they accepted once he told them the story. Nora wasn't cleared for that type of travel or that amount of work to get back into yet so for now it was best to stay at his current job.

Delphina and Raven got married and it killed Yuu to not be there for them but was happy that they were at least able to join them online and Yuu was able to give Raven plenty of shit about making sure he was good to Delphina, even though he knew he would be.

Today Yuu was a bit late at work, it was the first week back for the players after a semester break so the practice was a little rough after the time off. Finally though he was on his way back to the apartment that he and Nora shared. He made sure that all of the boys had left the locker room before locking it behind him and turning down the hall of the rink heading out to the parking lot. Only as soon as he reached the door outside he realized it wouldn't open. That was weird... Yuu turned around and was met with someone slamming him up against the wall and glaring down at him from the inside of a black hood. "Time to fix this timeline little kitsune, you were never meant to be here anyways. Hope you got the most out of your extra time." Yuu let out a hiss of pain as something sharp began to press into his stomach but somewhere in the hall a door opened and the hooded figure went running away and the door behind Yuu fell open from his weight.

Yuu didn't take a moment he just held his stomach and ran to his car. There was only one thought; Nora.

Yuu was shocked he didn't get pulled over, honestly you would think his fear from the accident would stop him from being this stupid but apparently not. Once in the driveway he locked the car and went running up the front steps, opening the door and locking it quickly behind him before yelling. "Nora?! Are you here? Nora!" Yuu held a hand to his stomach still as he began to search the apartment. Finally he found her standing in the kitchen looking stunned. "Nora are you okay? What happened?"

Raven

Ravens health was falling apart quickly over the last four months but honestly he was the happiest he had ever been, sure his time was limited but at least it was limited with someone he loved. For a while he fought... he fought really hard but once the doctors decided to put him on hospice he decided it was time to just spend every moment enjoying his time that he had left. So they ran off and got married, made a fun time out of it, their friends joined them via webcam and honestly it was perfect. Raven wished he could have done more for Delphina and it wasn't the wedding day he imagined with her, but that wasn't what mattered anymore.

Once they returned home though he was very bad, nearly bed ridden. They spent a lot of time watching films together and reading books. They cooked meals that he could barely taste but appreciated fully nonetheless. Today he was laying in bed, it was a bad day and he was having trouble even getting up to make it to the couch anymore. The TV in front of him was playing the Harry Potter films on repeat and the air purifier in the corner hummed softly. The noise of Delphina walking in made him sit up more on his pillows and give his wife a small grin. "Only if you have some with me Mrs. Ootori." As Delphina climbed into the bed he adjusted to wrap an arm around her shoulders and rested his chin on the top of her head as his free arm reached over to take his pills and a sip of the hot tea.

"How are you feeling love? Have you made any plans?" Raven knew she hated to think about what she was going to do when he was gone. But he needed to know she would be okay... that she wouldn't wallow for too long. Honestly he wanted her to take Castor and Marisol up on their offer. Move down with them for a little while and enjoy the heat and be near the ocean. It was a good idea... but he understood it was hard to talk about. Raven coughed a few times and choked down the pain to keep a smile on his face as best he could. It was any day now, he could tell. Honestly he was holding on to know she would be okay...

Viola

The day that Everest got arrested killed her. It KILLED HER. She knew he would be okay, he wouldn't face jail time, not after Viola screamed and begged and cried for her fiance to not press trespassing charges but... it felt like a finality. It felt like she closed the door on her friends, like that part of her life was now forever gone. But if that's what had to happen to keep her child safe then she would do it. Viola loved Everest and she wished things had been different but, this was the way it was. It would be okay.

That is until it wasn't. That current morning Jason decided to inform her that a child out of wedlock wouldn't look "good" and that he would not be allowing her to keep the baby once he was born. That he had a family lined up to adopt him and that now that she was showing she would be staying in the house 24/7. That finally broke her, she screamed at him. Called him every name in the book. Told him he was a shell of a man and an evil human. Said she would NEVER allow that to happen and that she would just leave, disappear. Ruin her repuation, make him look like a saint. Whatever he wanted. Apparently, Jason wanted her dead. So when she was mid out of the house with her suitcase, he shoved her down the steps and kicked her in the stomach before snatching her keys and leaving the house and heading who knows where.

Viola was in pain, writhing on the ground. Not only was she sure she had a concussion but she could tell something was wrong with the baby. There was blood and a lot of it. Logically she would have called 911 but her brain wasn't thinking and she just yelled for her phone that had flown across the floor to call Everest. It wasn't long before she heard the banging on the front door and she fought to stand, making her way to the door and pulling it open as she sobbed.

"I-I dont know what to do." Viola cried and threw her arms around his shoulders as the world slowly turned around her. Her belly wasn't big but she knew he had to be able to tell... "I'm so sorry, I just panicked and I knew I wanted you here."

Nora

It took a minute for Nora to come out of her daze and realize Yuu was in the kitchen with her. As soon as her eyes landed on him she instantly started to tear up and shook her head. "Someone was just he-Yuu baby what happened?" As soon as her bright blue eyes landed on him she could see the blood on his shirt and she instantly forgot about the cut on her neck. Quickly she reached underneath the sink and grabbed the first aide kit and walked over to him, opening it up and setting it on the counter next to him. "Let me look." Slowly she lifted up his shirt to get a good look at the wound, wincing slightly when it was revealed. "Did a pair of skates cut you or something? It's such a clean cut." It took a minute but she was able to stop the bleeding with some pressure and applied some disinfectant and a bandage.

After Nora washed her hands she applied a few steri-strips to her neck before turning back to him with a small sigh. "There. I didn't recognize the voice, but he said he had to end all of us like his predecessor failed to. He must be the new Reaper. Like, the guy in the black hood at Delphina's dad's house?" That's when it hit her. "Oh, I've got all my memories back. Thanks for sticking with me." Gently she kissed him before she reached for her phone. "I'm going to text everyone. I know everyone's got something going on and I don't want to call." Nora's fingers flew across the screen as she wrote out her group message to everyone. She warned them of the man in black and suggested they all meet up sooner rather than later.

"Shit should we go over to Raven and Delphina? Neither one of them are in any condition to fend him off." Nora was instantly stressed and panicked at the thought. "Yup. Let's pack some clothes and let's go." With that said the short brown wavy haired girl veered off towards the bedroom to pack their bags.
