In an honest service there is thin commons, low wages, and hard labor; in this, plenty and satiety, pleasure and ease, liberty and power; and who would not balance creditor on this side, when all the hazard that is run for it, at worst, is only a sour look or two at choking. No, a merry life and a short one, shall be my motto.

The burning sun in the middle of the clear blue sky beat down on the city of Luca with ferocity. Those that were out hastened toward the nearest piece of shade. The hot, heavy air weighted down on the mid summer day. Enki stood on the top deck of the Tangaroa in the shade casted by the captain’s cabin. The Tangaroa was docked at the city of Luca for Enki was looking for a crew. Earlier that day, Enki had gone down to the local tavern to post the job request and letting anyone to know they needed to head to the docks if interested in a job.

Luca was a unique city in many ways. It was the only place privateer ships could dock without an issue. As long as the crew behaved in the city, they could conduct their business. This sort of organization led to a large market and many merchants to flock to the city. Merchants would either buy stolen goods from the pirates looking to sell the items they had collected or contract with a captain to find an item(s) which they would sell to that merchant. Many of the merchants resold the goods that they bought with an increase in price to another nation, one that pirates would not be allowed to enter. They acted as a middle-man in the sense of trade. Enki had already obtained a contract from a merchant who was looking for a crew to find the Necklace of Harmonia. For whatever reason, Enki did not know. All he did know was that he was on a quest of his own, a search for the cup of Nanteos.

Against the wall near the door to the captain’s cabin sat Lemon. Enki honestly had no idea what Lemon was or suppose to do. All he seemed to do was eat. And what Lemon ate was various random objects he found around, at the moment he was eating some cutlery he found in the kitchen. Enki just shook his head and waited.

Aella felt like she made a terrible mistake. Why the hell would she ever take a job posted at the local tavern. It wasn't really like her to do something like this, but she needed money. And piracy was fairly good way to make some quick money. She arrived at the dock, an area that could only be described as busy. The bushel of men moving about and yelling filled the area. Along with the heat, it was unbearable. Ducking under two men carrying a large crate, Aella moved along to find the ship Tangaroa.

Althalos Caeronvar sighed as he realized the situation he was in.

He, a once proud and gallant knight-to-be, was searching the docks of a criminal-infested island in order to join a crew of pirates. Bloody. Pirates. Florent must be laughing right now.

The scorching sun hammered down on Luca like an angry god, as he was, quite literally, being cooked inside his own armor. Momentarily dizzy from the heat, he surveyed the area, before making his way.

Moving around a crowded area, with all the bumping and pushing around would have been a nuisance for most people. Luckily, Althalos was not most people as he walked around the docks quite quickly and freely, the crowd parting wherever he would go.

Being a fully armored goliath with a gigantic zweihander strapped behind his back would give an impression that he was a person not to be trifled with, else they might end up in an infirmary, or worse.

'Holy Ones, lend me thy strength.' he thought, scrunching up his face in disgust as a particularly odorous man passed by him. He had been searching for the Tangaroa for a while now. Apparently, he had been at the wrong end of the dock. Now he was making his way to the southern part, scanning every ship for any noticeable signs that would make it the Tangaroa.

The flyer says that it is a galleon, he remembered. He had no idea what a galleon was, but remembered hearing from one of his old buddies that a galleon was 'a ship bigger than the King's bald spot' so he remarked that indeed, it was pretty big.

The knight stopped dead in his tracks as he noticed a ship larger amongst the others,
Perhaps this could be the one, he thought. Looking up he saw a man on the top deck, standing in the shade for protection from the scorching sun, "Must be the captain", the swordsman said. His eyes drifted across, and he saw...

Is that a giant lemon? His eyes widened, before shaking his head. He would blame the heat on this one. Taking a closer look at the ship, the knight decided that this is the Tangaroa, because of the matching symbols on the flyer and on the ship's Jolly Roger.

For the second time of the day, Althalos sighed, this time out of nervousness as he looked on at the galleon. Debating whether or not this would be worth it as he stood still like a statue.

Alice had seen the request at the local tavern. She was desperate for a job, and it seemed like piracy could be her only option right now. The short girl sighed. She should try to look at it from the bright side. Being a pirate meant that she would explore the world, and make new contacts. Learn new medicine, maybe even find a legal job. That is if she wasn't killed or put into jail.

The short girl looked at the ship. It was bigger than she had thought it would, and it was a lot more decorated than she had expected a pirate ship to be. Alice looked at it in awe for a moment, before trying to find the way onto the ship. Someone, who was presumably the captain, stood on the deck, although she couldn't see for sure, as the person was under the shadow of the captains cabin. While walking onto the bridge connecting the dock and the ship, she couldn't help but notice the statue that seemed to be looking at the boat. It looked weird and out of place on this island.

Once on the deck, the little fairy walked over to the man by the captains cabin and... some sort of lemon creature? She tried to ignore the lemon thing and looked at the guy.

-I wish to speak to the captain, she said. I have heard that he is looking for crew members, and I wish to apply as a doctor.

@TurtlePower

Kynerith was to say, more then excited when she returned to the tavern one night, to find a flyer looking for crew members on a pirate ship. Kynerith of course always played her music at the local taverns in Luca, and needless to say, Kynerith loved the attention, they over her. Her music, her instruments, her voice, though she made sure to always leave a bit earlier before things got to heavy or heated when the pirates had to much to drink.

But what she didn't love was pushing her way through loads of giant, smelly filthy pirates, she may not have a home, but at least she bathed... These are the thoughts that ran through her head as a rather fat man pushed her rather harshly as he moved through, nearly sending her to the ground , but instead just was pushed into more people. After receiving a few angry cuss words, a few more pushes, she finally made it to the deck of the larger ship. She guessed this would be the one since it was biggest.

She stepped up on the deck, rather a bit nervously, almost tripping over her dress, her striped tail now swished irritably, and she strode towards a shorter girl and what seemed to be the captain and a- Kynerithes step faltered as she took in a literal giant lemon? Must be her since everyone else seemed unbothered by it, her bright green cat eyes focused back on the two people and she approached them, standing next to the girl. Kynerith decided to say anything to avoid interrupting.

"WHO THE HELL YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"

"THE ONE WHO MADE SURE YOUR MOM DOCENT-"

*CLANG*

Where there are pirates, there are always a bar fight, one of Luca's Inns being "The burn Crab" just at the end of the south port near the city heart and as it seems a fight has begun for a very stupid reason we would all declare. Markov a walking red Draken from the Eastern clan has just knuckled a man with his steel gauntlet right on his left cheek as teeth and cavity where rip from the powerful hit and as we all know RED scaled drakens are very well know for being....short temper....the reason for this debate to begin was for this human of low stature to knock down his mug of ale to the ground and refuse to get Markov a other and this CLEARLY made him not so happy causing him to impact the man on his cheek and from there....all hell broke loose.

People yelled as mugs flew over hitting some one on its way and soon the chain reaction started,people began to fight at random each smashing tables and throwing other strong men like birds.Markov would grab the man who knock down his mug and with just one hand he would hurl the small man threw the room knocking 3 more as it came to the ground. It was all confusing as one punch lead to a whole chain reaction in the inn,some even charged towards the red giant and doing there best to tackle him down smashing him against the table behind him but this just made him even angrier making clear black mist/smoke slowly expelling from the sides of his mouth. But as fast the fight started it began to end as 3 guards from the inner city furiously open the dual wooden doors and began to yell out and this just made MANY scatter away.

Markov as he saw the guards enter he would see the people in the inn begin to scanter,he would stand from his prone position and jump over the front desk as his wings would close around him like a cloak making his way to the back door and escape....buuut on his way he saw a small keg of what seem ale...well...um...no one would mind "Borrowing" it. With no second thoughts his strong left hand would grab the small keg and carry it outside from the back,he open the door slow to maintain low profile and walk outside.

"....well then i am gonna love it here...in fact i think i should go find a crew recruitment quickly before the guards see me,I really need to find a worthy ship that will serve long time and not some river boat....and i am officially a pirate now as i "Borrowed" this keg"

He said to himself as he chuckled and in fact as he did he saw the docks full of ships recruiting and he should find one worthy to serve,He began to take strong steps towards the docks with his massive iron blade strap on his back with its handle straight up. Something interesting and rather cute for Markov was his small white snake Pixy was coil around his horns on his head looking forward as he walk,on a side note the heat felt so good!. On his way to the dock he began to walk side to side looking for a worthy ship and in fact ONE catch his eye that seem to be getting interest by some already,a large galleon named Tangaroa and he remembers seeing this one in the inn he was! was big...and worthy ship! he nod and walk towards the plank with a empty keg-..wait empty keg?

"Gooooooooooood Day! Si- *HIC* I would like to be part of this crew! Y'arrr!"

He stated as he walk up the blank NOT drunk....like not he is not drunk he is OK don't worry he just drank a whole small keg of ale on his way.As he stumble up the plank he would stop behind the others as he stood on the plank looking around and would compliment.

"I would- *HIC* like to report a lose lemon on the deck!"

He mention clearly drunk as he would slip from the wooden plank and fall down directly on the water near the boat and it was a little high as you would expect,he landed with a clear splash and water pillar upward, not the best day now was it...and in fact good first impression too. After landing in the water he would clime up to the edge and grasp the stone sidewalk breathing deeply with wide open eyes from the sudden fall,He was shacking from the cold with the snake wrap around his neck "Im awake...."he whispered as he slowly began to stand up on dry ground and slowly walk up the plank again and this time MUCH slower and drying off....yea best first impression and as well a clear sign NOT to leave anything like mead and ale near him...

Lorena Milotus - Navigator

Lorena smiled excitedly as she traced her fingers along the inked writing. It was pure black, contrasting against the dirtied paper it was imprinted on. "Tangaroa" She whispered softly, "What an unusual, yet unique name." Suddenly, a chair snapped her from her thoughts. It landed literally above her, crashing loudly towards her left. Noticing a gigantic brawl in the middle of the tavern, she quietly made her escape. However, a tall brawny figure grabbed her hair. "Lass..care to have *hic* some fun?" Her white hair contrasting deeply with the tanned skin of the man, deep eyes of fury blazed at him. "Let go... or you'll regret it." She has had her fair share of problems with drunkards, her power will help her in this sense. "Feisty *hic*..eh?" Without even a moment's warning, Lorena created an ice ball within her hand. Thrusting it deeply in the man's gut, a loud scream filled the air. "Don't touch me again." She understood why men attacked her. She usually looked petite, delicate and weak, compared to other women. Not to mention her pure white hair which caught attention on it's own. Smiling proudly, she exited the tavern.

Her light blue dress fluttered softly in the wind, whilst she gazed in the direction of the harbor. This would be the first time she has gone sailing on her own, without a friend and/or a family member. That would be, if she got the job of course. "Only one navigator per ship" she thought aloud, as she began to hurry towards the beautiful ship, named 'Tangaroa'. She sincerely hoped her job was still open, this could be her big chance to go and explore.

Walking aboard the ship, Lorena smiled. A clean deck, a tall mast, more than she could hope for. In her past, ships were seen disgustingly dirty, moss and fungi explicit everywhere she looked, bacteria ran rampant in all areas. This was already, a promising start. Looking over the deck, a fresh breeze weaved through her hair. The sea, in all it's glory, sparkled countless shades of clear blue before returning to it's indigo state. A small collection of people caught her eye, previously obscured from view by the mast. Heading over, she sincerely hoped that none of them were navigators.

Sarah was sitting in the wooded floor of the ship as she look at her gun, its been years since they were adopted by some pirates and have taken care of now they are here in a new ship witch she and her twin serve the captain thoe she felt a little bore from all that was happening as she can recall, war,death,vicory,war,death,victory sometimes defeat everything is just going around and around as it sometimes made her puke on thingking about it as she lean at the wood and sigh as she close her eyes.

Gankplank was beside Sarah as he was thingking the same this yet to the two of them he was 50% the youngest as he wish he was the oldest from the two of them yet now its a new dawn of a new day and he must be prepared from what is coming upon this ship he might die today but he will make sure he will die with honor to his new captain that him and his twin will serve with loyalty

"Oi...t'is must be the p'ace"the male grumbled, running a hand through his hair. The taverns had been quite busy today. People in and out. But everything seemed to slow when he saw that one piece of paper fall to the ground. Honestly the barmaid was left with an open mouth.

Saile had been in the city for a year or so now, an not once had she ever seen the man, the biggest drinker in the city, the man who never wasted a drop, leave before the evening rush. That was atleast an hour from now. She walked over and picked up the paper that had got him so eager. A pirate recruitment?

Saile sighed, taking a drink of his flask as he headed up. He was surprised by what he saw. A lemon, a drake, a knight, a beastwoman, and afew humans. He already knew this would be a fun time. Taking another drink, He leaned against the rail, examining the group,before looking to.the skies.

"I' back ye ol' ba'tard..."he gave a faint smile,drumming.his black nails against the flask

Sarah and gankplank look at the person who is talking "what in the devils name did he just said?" gankplank as as Cassiopea shrug a little "i dont have nay idea so dont ask me" she said as he hide her gun and Gankplank look at his twin sister before start plaing with his knife "welp since were new here we still cant trust anyone of the crew so the only one we can trust is the both of us" gank plank said "aye brother" said Sarah and she raise her left hand and wave it.

...Then again, if I joined, I would have explored the far corners of this land, seeing sights I would have never seen if I were to become a knight.

Curiosity won over honor and pride that day as Althalos finally made his decision. Might as well serve other criminals justice in my wake, maybe even meet worthy and capable warriors to fight.

As Althalos walked to the ship, he couldn't help but notice a few unique individuals grouped up with him:

A young, sweet-faced girl of short stature with aquamarine irises, wearing a dress that matched the color of her eyes. He noticed a set of elf ears poking out of her long, white hair, which was being blown by the (thankfully) cool breeze, a slightly worried expression etched on her face. Althalos cocked an eyebrow, 'A girl of her likeliness shouldn't be here' he thought, before shaking his head, he had been taught numerous times to never underestimate anyone.

A blonde woman with sharp and defined features, amber colored eyes that resembles that of a feline. This, along with the markings on her cheeks made him realize she was not actually a human. 'Is she, perhaps, one of the Beast Folk?' the knight thought, he had never seen an actual Beastfolk in person until now. She wore an olive-green dress with a corset matching its color. She's quite pretty, in his opinion.

A man with medium-length, sea green hair and eye (eye, as his right one was covered in an eyepatch), wearing a coat that was rolled up to his elbows over a long-sleeved tunic, along with leather trousers and boots. He was downing a bottle of rum like it was no tomorrow as he leaned on the rails, though saying something the knight didn't catch before doing so. 'Alcoholics, the lot of them.' Althalos sighed.

A fairy with short, black hair, looking just like the nurses and healers that healed his cuts and bruises way back when he was still a squire in the Order. 'Another girl, but this one seems younger.' He frowned, he didn't really like it that anyone and anything can join a pirate crew. He heard the girl apply for the position of doctor in the ship.

A redheaded lass sitting beside a brown-haired boy. The girl wearing quite revealing clothes and a bicorne as the boy wore pirate garbs and a tricorne two sizes too big. (Althalos swore they looked as old as the fairy) They seemed to be playing with their weapons.

A--'Drake!', Althalos tensed as he saw the draconian, he remembered these things cutting down his former brothers and sisters like they were nothing. He did see this draconian make an utter fool of himself earlier, but that made him no less as dangerous as the next drake. He would be ready should this lizard be hostile as he waited for his turn.

Zen crossed his arms as he stared at the flyer in the board, shaking his head slowly. It was an advertisement, all right. But for what, you might ask?

Piracy.

Someone was putting up flyers of a job offer to be a pirate.

He had to wonder just how STUPID someone had to be to put up flyers for that.

And he had to meet them. Anyone THAT stupid probably doesn't care about risks either. This was just the thing he was looking for!

"It's probably a trap."

Said one of the voices in his head.

"Of course it could be trap. But what if it's not?" He replied to it.

"You could just kill everyone there and steal the boat." Suggested the other voice.

Zen shook his head.

"No. I don't know the first thing about sailing a boat. We wouldn't make it out of the harbor before it would probably catch fire. We'll go check it out."

He had to admit, anyone listening to him would be quite confused. No one else but Zen could hear the voices, and he could only respond to them by physically replying. To a normal person, it would seem like some guy in red Magick Armor talking to himself with a large sword and staff attached to his back. He grabbed the flyer and stuck it into his pocket. It seemed that it was close to where he was now, so he began walking down the pier looking for it. It didn't take long; it was the biggest ship there, and easily recognizable. He rubbed his hands together in anticipation and quickly ran up the gangplank to find himself a large slough of colorful characters, including a lizard and a lemon. Huh. Certainly not what he expected; but at least life had decided to give him a lemon, which he couldn't resist.

"Ho, there! Is anyone here the idiot who's posting advertisements all over the place? Because I require their attention immediately!"

Lorena relaxed and let out a soft sigh, realizing her position was not taken. She gives a small grin as she examines the others applying for a position on the ship. Each and every one was distinctly different, be it personality or appearance, they were all unique. 'Won't this be an interesting experience...' she thought quietly to herself. During her distraction, a tall figure caught her view. A man, in a full set of armour, tensed up as he stared at a nearby figure. Slightly confused, she decided to head over. "Excuse me, but are you okay?" she asked, with a puzzled but concerned look on her face. Examining closer, she noticed deep crimson eyes contrasting against the light silver of his armour. They were powerful eyes, as if they could pierce right through you. @AssaultAndBattery

He shifted his hardened gaze from the drake to the person addressing him, crimson eyes now focused solely on them. It was the girl in blue from earlier, asking him if he was okay.

"I am fine." He reaffirmed the girl as he visibly relaxed, "I apologize if I managed to make you worry unnecessarily." He easily towered over the small girl, yet she didn't show any signs of fear or intimidation. Althalos hummed, she was braver than he thought.

Enki

Location:Tangora

A number of people began to arrive toward the frigate passing the other crews for the other ships docked in the harbor. Looking out it seemed sort off stupid to hope for a crew with whatever riff-Raff that decided to wander to the Tangora.

"You're a real idiot." Sharur had decided it was the perfect time to perk up and comment on how much he dislikes Enki. If insulting Enki could be a sport, Sharur would have a gold medal. Enki guessed that being a servient war hammer for eternity would result in a bad attitude, but it didn't mean Enki liked it.

Enki moved out of the shade and headed down toward the dock to meet the potential crew.

"To all of you", Enki began "can apply in a one on one interview if you think you have what it takes to be a part of this crew. If not, better leave now then later."

It was best to leave a empty-ended threat to keep them on their toes.

Aella

Location:Tangora

Aella was the first person to be interviewed. She entered the captain cabin after Enki and took the seat across from the large desk. Enki himself sat down in the captain's chair before resting his one hand on his sword. He placed Sharur in the corner. Lemon came in own his own after Aella quickly running over to Enki and curling up under the desk to have a nap. He was worse then the cats on-board.

"Look," Aella laying down the truth, "I am just here to make money. I don't care about anything else, okay." A bit harsh, but completely insultingly truthful.

"What a wonderful personality." Sharur commented sarcastically. Both Enki and Aella jumped at the sound of his voice.

"Who said that?" Aella questioned. She sat up and moved to where the voice came from. It wasn't like magic talking war hammers were a common ordeal. It was very possible that Sharur was the only one of his kind in existence, and to Enki was probably best to keep his existence secret for now.

"Are you any good at sailing or have any experience?" Enki said trying to finish the interview and distract Aella.

"Um, yeah..." She responded only half listening, still intent on looking for the source of the comment. "Great, great, great." Enki wrapped his left arm around Aella's shoulders directing her toward the door and out of the cabin. "You're hired. Goodbye. Next." He said in a rush before slamming the door shut in Aella's face.

@Knight Nate @Astaroth Suzumiya @Yonsisac @SdrawcabDaer

Kynerith could only watch as multiple people piled unto the ship. There where all sorts of people and many races as well. Kynerith stressfully twisted through a strand of hair. Kynerith say down, her red life stalled to her back, and flute in a pocket. She sat down outside the captains cabin on the bench, waiting to be called or whatever. Kynerith stood as soon as the captain called "Next". Kynerith brushed off her dress before entering the cabin, taking a seat across the cabin.

@TurtlePower

Lorena nodded at the knightly figure's words, watching him relax his tensed stature. After a moment of contemplation, she asked "It's fine if you'd rather not talk about it, but why were you so tense?" She wondered whether he would lie or not, using her perception she definitely saw him staring at the Drake on the ship. It hurt her neck looking at the towering figure, she had to take a few steps back to examine his head. She had read many stories over vicious monsters appearing in the sea, nothing scared her that much anymore, including the figure above her. From another's point of view, it would look as if he was glaring at the young girl, but she knew better. @AssaultAndBattery

Noticing the beast woman from earlier, entering the captain's cabin, Lorena quietly prepared herself for the interview. She sincerely hoped she would receive the position of a navigator on this ship, her emotions would be downcast if she didn't. This boat was certainly one to be proud of, especially compared to the others around it. It was collosal in comparison to the measly ships below it, with a refined structure and decorations. She traced her hand along the side of the deck, it felt firm and strong, this ship would live for centuries... if given proper care. Smiling softly, she returned her attention to the knightly giant in front of her.

Markov stood with the others,sitting against the ships wooden railing with his massive wings wrap around him witch covered most of his body except his legs and head but as he relax he would notice the clad knight human staring at him for a moment,Markov just narrow his eyes towards him in a menacing way slightly disturbed being stared at,dose he have a problem,the hell is he looking at? for a human he look "strong"...for a peaty human, Markov did not enjoy being surrounded by Humans as where he comes from humans are just Inferior in the volcanic hollow of the east but at least there where some that where not,like the feline woman. After the human was distracted by a female he just puff and would look down and close his eyes taking a small rest as he waited for the interview. He dint know who would go next but he wanted to get this over with so hope he could go next.

@AssaultAndBattery

As he just waited Pixy would just be coil around his left horn sleeping, Markov just came here in search for a worthy trophy to bring back to his homeland to prove his clan he is a worthy draken especially being the son of Miralis "The Flame Juggernaut" a powerful warrior from the east so he BETTER not come empty handed or he would surely be executed of banish from the east....and as well he came here and take a taste of human society like his mother did who lived with them....he just hope what his mother said was all true of humans being "Gentle" creatures most of the time.

Enki

Location:Captain Cabin

Another girl entered the cabin after Aella. Enki had already shoved Sharur into a crate before her entrance, so he was less worried though Sharur was going to be in a bad mood. Enki gestured to the seat across from the desk, telling her to sit.

"Why have you come to join this crew?" Enki asked, trying to put an aura of confidence and leadership.

Kynerith sat down gently. Dusting the skirts of her dress, like it mattered what he was going to think. Her heart raced nervously, but her face remained calm and serious "I want adventure, to live my life fully, I don't care much for coin." She responded to the captain.

@TurtlePower

Vlad was resting below decks. He was laying next to his favorite gun, Tepes. He licked his lips as he slept. Thoughts of a beautiful woman ran rampant through his dreams. He softly uttered her name. "Mina...." he suddenly snapped awake. He was breathing heavily. He looked around the lower decks. Nobody else was around. "Just a nightmare," he told himself.

Enki nodded. He liked her attitude so far. By far one of the calmer, hard worker types.

"Well, we could definitely use someone like you a board." He reached over to shake her hand.

@DarknessSpirit

Euka005.jpg
Kynerith smiled, her ears perked up in excitment and her green yellow car eyes seemed to to, seeming like he was actually hireing her. She had thought she would e had to play him a song to prove her talent or something. She reached her hand over, making sure to grab his hand lightly to avoid digging her sharp nails into his, they were like human claws and could also be used as a weapon too, able to draw blood. Her hand rather warm since covered in fur. She shook his hand then stood. "Anything else?" She asked him, making sure she didn't just walk out.
