Kenan let her legs dangle off the side of the pier while the ocean mist hit them. Her light green eyes were locked on the setting sun that was illuminating the sky with an array of colors. A small sigh escaped from her lips. Sunsets were her favorite, they gave her time to escape from the craziness she called her life. The sky slowly darkened as the sun made it's exit from the sky; leaving the bonfires to illuminate the beach. She sat there for a moment before pulling out her phone and sending a text out to her friends, Anyone up for a bonfire at Newport tonight? It was the perfect night for one.
Grabbing her cruiser she traipsed down the pier until her feet hit the pavement. Promptly she laid her cruiser down and took off down the sidewalk, weaving in and out of passing strangers. She loved doing this, especially when she pissed people off. The looks on their faces' as a hoodlum on a skateboard passed them by never failed to bring a smile to her face. She had a laid back, I-don't-give-a-shit attitude when it came to strangers. And she didn't. She didn't care what others thought about her, she didn't like parading around like someone else to impress strangers.
It didn't take long for her to find an open fire pit, it was early enough in the evening that they hadn't all filled yet. Popping her cruiser up she headed over to the pile of firewood, grabbing enough to get the fire going. She hoped. She dropped the wood down with a clatter next to the pit. Letting out a small sigh she glanced around the darkening beach before sitting, then laying down in the sand. It really was a perfect night, it wasn't to hot or cold out and the sky was clear enough for the few visible stars to be seen.
