"The year is 1718. Carigen is but a meager country, barely containing a populous of a million. However, the population is more than just human. The people of Swindale Village are terrorized by stories of what wanders the Windry Forest. Children are told to stay away from the dark shadows of the tall trees. Not only do they fear the dense brush but also the looming castle in the distance, the home of the late Marquis. The Marquis had died years ago, leaving no heir to rule in his place. Though the villagers celebrated for a time at the cruel man's passing, their joy was quickly stifled. Tales of dark figures walking the castle grounds was more than enough to keep the villagers at a distance. Often times screams can be heard echoing throughout the forest. Only time will tell what events will transpire in the little country of Cargen.
The supernatural inhabitants of Carigen are spread throughout the land, however the elite and high status members live in Karhaven Castle. Throughout the last millennia, supernatural creatures have been at war with one another. The battles were brutal and the casualties high . Eventually, there was fear that the humans would rise up against the creatures, so the Adonis Peace Accords were created and have been in effect. There was to be no fighting amongst themselves, and if a creature had a dispute, there were to go to the Adonis Facilitators. However, the peace is fragile and organizations are rising up against the Adonis Peace Accords. The land is uneasy and waiting for the proverbial last straw before all is thrown into chaos.
The Darkmoore is a secret group of supernatural creatures banded together to take on contracts from creatures and humans alike. They care not for the peace accords and only for their next payment. Money interests them partly, but they deal mostly in information and power. However, the tides are shifting and their leadership is being questioned from within. "
