Fantasy The Penitentiary of the Gifted Ones

Ariel

The Mermaid Slayer
Supporter
A place where people who have special gifts are sent after committing a crime or breaking rules. A normal human couldn't very well punish a person with supernatural abilities, however, someone on an equal level could. There are two types of people: The Convicted and the Wardens. The Convicted are those who committed the crime and the Wardens are those who watch over and assist in the repentance of those who have wronged.

So, there's enough people to start in my opinion. More people will come and enter smoothly, after all it is a prison. So... here's the opening. Feel free to respond whenever.

~Once upon a time as I like to say...

Max looked coldly over the group of convicts. "I'd like to formally welcome you all to prison. Congratulations on screwing up. Honestly, did you really believe you'd get away with it?" Max tilted her head to the side, smiling without humor. "My name is Max. Do not call me Max. Call me Head warden, Madam, whatever formal way you have of greeting me but you do not have the right to such informality. And remember: This is my prison." She eyed them, challenging someone to retort. "I'd like to introduce you to Othni." Max waved her arm, gesturing to the bored looking man standing beside her with a camera. "If you act out, he will delve out punishment. Go ahead, I dare you. Othni is not to be underestimated. Now, I do hope you like your stay here. You should too. You could have been put to death. Silver lining right? Respect the Wardens. Follow the rules. Or else." Max strode away from the crowd without another word back to her post in the tower where she watched over them.

Kain sat on a bench in the yard so to speak. After listening to the head wardens words he cared little for, but one must learn the system to beat it. He knew for now he would have to obey the rules. Still he examined the head warden Max, as she called herself. Along with the other warden incharge of punishment. He examined him more so given one thing in particular. Although he knew not of its importance the camera gave of a hunch to its importance. Still he examened the others, as well biding his time.

"Hahahaha! Are you a moron!? You got caught because you accidently took an extra pack of gum from the gas station!? You got to be joking!" Nether said as he laughed his *ss off. "Shut it brat! What are you in for? Couldn't keep your damn mouth shut?" "Hahaha In a way....though I never got caught." He said with a smirk. "What are you talking about you are in here, so you got caught." "*sigh* I was...no, I am bored, after the things I've done it's hard to find anything intresting." He said with a grin before waving at the people he found boring and walking off in a random direction.

Genevieve looked around at the other convicts. Everyone here appeared to be stronger and more intimidating than her. Still, she looked at all of them like they were her puppets. A few sweet words was all it took to make them bow to her will. A smile rose to her face. Won't this be fun? Listening to the warden talk, Genevieve sighed. Jeez, could she be any more scary? Looks like the girl never loosens up. She would make a fine puppet... Such dark thoughts for this small girl. If one were to glance at her, you'd think she was just a shy young girl. If one were to understand her mind, they'd know how unstable she was.

Othni glanced over the group of rebellious individuals and didn't even bat an eyelash. People were always going to act out. It's how life works. He couldn't help but recall his time in the crowd, listening to Max's harsh speech when she was only 17. Even if she was seemingly unapproachable, she did care. Because she helped him become a better person, he'd gladly do anything for her. He glanced over at her fondly. To anyone else who watched him, he'd appear just as he was a few moments ago. But to Max who understood him, she'd see the care in his eyes.

Kain looked towerds his hand. Arcs of black electricity flowed between his fingers. Small flickers of strange white light pulsed onto his face. He thought to himself' there are many individuals here with useful powers. I have yet to learn how to absorb one abilities, but it would be a venture to seek out.' He said in his mind. A very dark presence spoke in his mind for those who could see in the spirit realm their would be a shadowy figure resembling the Reaper hovering beehind him. It spoke in a cold dead voice filled with ice' Such dark thought i hear from kain im starting to like this side of you.' Mortus said to him. Kain stood up from the bench proceeding to scout the yard out. He could see many aspects of the peison, but nothing that helped him yet. Kain walked along the walls edge running his hand along the walls. He came along a metel pipe, and stopped resting his hand on it. He sent a vary faint electrical pulse that vibrated along rhw pipe like echo location. He waited for images to come back.

Othni remained in the main yard and observed the convicts. He wondered how many would try to escape, how many would act out. A caged bird always sings as I say. All so naive, it's like they don't understand they've lost. He sighed as he adjusted his camera. Oh, how I hoped to take so many wonderful pictures this year. A hint of a smile rose to his face.

Genevieve looked around and saw a guy standing away from the others. Gotta start somewhere right? She walked over to him and cleared her throat. "Excuse me, uh, dark person." She waved at him with an awkward grin.

@Lord Anubis

Mortus astral form floated from behind kain around the girl who walked up to him. The reaper smiled its skeletal form surrounded by darkness. One could physically sense him, by the hairs standing on end on a person's arm. Kain recieaved a minor layout of the pipe line for it did not extend far. He turned towerds the girl making eye contact with her. Mortus spoke in his mind' this one would do nicely for your first attempt she smells of a witch id be careful around this beauty!' It stated. Kain aknowledge its words his dark gey eyes looking inti her" yes?" He said calmly.

@Maxwelle

Genevieve shuddered feeling suddenly uncomfortable. "Get your spirit thing away from me." She could feel the discomfort emit from a source that moved around her. Judging by the way the guys gaze wasn't entirely fixed on me, she assumed it was his friend. "S-Sorry. It's just giving me the heeby jeebys... Anyway I was wondering if you knew much about this place." Tucking her hair behind her ear, she looked him over. Best keep your guard up eh, Genevieve?

Kain gave a humoured smile" id highly dought he would obey my words. As for this place well I'm working on that." Was all he stated mortus smiled even wider' she does not like my presence kain, but i do enjoy hers!' It said the equivalent of him liking his lips was a arc of black lightning in the form of a toung mimicking the gesture.

Mortus floated slightey away still watching with its hollowed eyes.

"Even if you asked? What kind of buddy-buddy relationship is that?" Maybe they were the kind friends that clashed in a friendly way. Genevieve shivered again. "Working on it huh? I don't know, those head staff people are kind of scary." Genevieve wiggled her fingers for effect.

Kain leaned against the wall sighing deeply. Mortus flowed into kain its presence dissapating from the area in a way. Kain looked up at the wardens tower, and could see faintly the head warden her pink hair pointing her out. Kain spoke still looking at the warden" i do not fear anything for that which i feared for has long sence left this world. I dont rely on emotions much they hinder logical judgment." Kain then looked towerds the girl" why are you speaking to me i know its not to just to speak to me every con has a motive what is yours?" He asked although he did not expect a answer nor a truthful one.

"She probably is going to try and use you to get out of here or she actually wanted a friendly conversation." Nether said with a smirk as he approached the two. "I wonder if these two can get rid of my boredom." He muttered to himself.

Kain eyed the newcomer not turning his head, but his eyes locked on. He looked away back to the girl" there are more plossible reasons for her conversing with me, but i did suspect those as well." He said calmly.

"Well, if we're stuck in here we might as well make the best of it. No need to get cross with me." She stuck her tongue out at them in taunt. "How else will it be fun?" She murmured softly. Her expression took on a dark edge but quickly vanished. "What are your names anyway?" She asked briskly.

@Peaceswore @Lord Anubis

"Y-You don't know me!? How!?" Nether said genuinely shocked especially since he has been on the news for his most recent terrorist attck. "I'm Nether Nobody, at my service." He joked. "I would tail you what I'm in for, but my throat would get dry before I could finish. Let's just say...I'm one of the ones you want to keep on your good side." He said smirking the entire time. @Maxwelle @Lord Anubis

Kain gave a slight grin" a con with a ego how unusual that is!" He said faking a sort of suprise. He pushed of the wall standing straight" my name is know to those privladged enough to know it. You may refer to me, as reaper know i did love this get together, but im afraid i must depart other things require my attention." He spoke calmly standing tall while walking away slowly. He did not care for these individuals, and by what he could tell the boy was not there to only talk. He gave of a feeling kain knew would cause trouble. That was the least he wanted to have attention drawn to himself from the wardens. All simply caused by a little pout from the boy. Kain made his way continuing to run his hands along the walls searching for another pipe.

"Good side huh? Why would I know you? You famous or something?" She inspected him more closely but he didn't ring any bells. Of course, she didn't have the time to keep up with common knowledge of late considering most of her time was spent in a human prison for younger age people. Genevieve watched the other guy go, rubbing along the wall. "Ya got a wall fetish?" She muttered as she scrutinized his back. "Well, I'm glad, his spirit was creepy."

Othni watched a taller convict move along the wall, running his hand against the surface, apparently searching for something.
Looking for an escape? An upper hand maybe? He moved his way over to him and paused behind him. "What is it you're looking for?" He asked.

Nether sighed as he leaned against the wall. "Don't tell me I let my self get captured for nothing." He muttered before looking around and sighing. "Are we allowed to use our powers? I didn't see anything that would stop us. Which is pretty stupid if that's the case. I need something that can intrest me." He said mainly to himself, though he was loud enough for a few to hear. "Also, it's not an ego, I was on the news not to long ago, and I've proven a multitude of times that you really shouldn't F with me." He said calmly as he closed his eyes trying to think of something entertaining. He smirked when the warden appeared. He didn't have any intention of fighting just yet...at least...not yet.@Maxwelle

Kain stopped walking he held his hand on the wall for a few moments before retracting it. He turned slowly leaning against the wall while he looked into the wardens eyes" that temains to be discovered." He said. Mortus wanted to come out, and examin the warden. The last thing he needed was for mortus to stir suspicion. The words from the girl dis not bother him. However the boy from earlier seemned to attempt provoking him. While it would be nicw to rid the worls of another dark stain he needed to be patiant.

"Pick a fight with a guard then. I don't think you'll win. I heard people going on about some means they have of weakening our powers. Maybe it's in the food," she said with a smirk. Genevieve watched him struggle with his boredom. "Hey at least this place has a challenge. I heard the real stuff starts the second day." Now that she thought about it, she was rather bored too. Maybe, she'd find a new puppet.

Othni glared at him a moment longer before speaking. "If I were you, I'd just wait out your sentence. It'd be easier that way." Then Othni turned and walked away.

Kain gave a small laugh" im afraid nothing is ever easy warden." He stated calmly proceeding to walk along the walls like before. What others did not know, was that kain was storing energy in the walls for a single purpous although he suspected it would come to be onother purpouse. He stopped finding another pipe hidden in the walls. It was directly next to the wardens tower. He again sent small waves of electrical pulses. Not enough to trigger any electrical systems. Just enough to map out any metel or wired structure.

"I have no intention of eating the food they make. And...." Nehter stopped talking when he felt the electrical waves that went through the ari. 'So I'm not the only one with electrical powers.' He thought a smirk still on his face as he looked at Kain. He thought about downloading some information from Kain but decided he wasn't worth time. "I hope the second day get's here soon."

Othni became incredibly suspicious of the convict and headed towards the head wardens tower. Perhaps there is something she will want to do about it... At the very least I must report to her.

Max glared down at the group in the main yard with disdain. It was then she sensed it. Electricity moving about. Glancing down beside her tower, she spotted a convict moving about and touching the walls. How naive of you. You would have gotten away with it had you avoided my tower, after all my electric power wasn't as strong. Othni knocked and opened my door. "Madam..." he remarks. "Yes I know." "What would you have me do?" "Threaten them. Use an example if you must. Get the message across tomorrow." With a slight nod of his head, Othni left.

"Hey, not that I care, but you may want to cool it on the powers. Threatening or not these jack*ss don't like it when they are used." He said to Kain as got off the wall and stretched. He knew that he wasn't the only one that felt the electricity and was rather excited to see what would happen since the guards are not known for being the nicest of people.
