It hasn't been long since Chiruka has followed the crimson flowers. They seemed so fascniating, so beautiful, the flowers looked like they were colored with God's blood, so heavenly, yet so unfortunate. He could recall the day clearly, just like he could with any other day. How he got there though, remains a mystery. But Kawamizu is filled with mysteries.. Or so Chiruka thought. The trail of flowers seemed to last for eternity, until he reached the end.. The end didn't have much more but plain forestry, trees whistling in the wind and all wildlife seemed to be still. No birds were chirping as they were before he entered, and Chiruka himself seemed to just stand still, not daring to go past the trail he was just on. The forest itself seemed a little intimidating.
He turned around, his eyes continuing to be glued on the flowers, until there was something that seemed unusual about them. He furrowed his eyebrows, blood seeming to be dripping from the petals. He closed his eyes and he looked back, the flowers returning back to normal. He started to pace himself a little bit, going back towards where he was. He found himself at the entrance again and he sighed, seeming relieved that he got himself out of that.. whatever that was. The day wasn't like any other though. It had significance, and Chiruka was going to figure out that significance today.
He had woke up that morning, in an apartment of his own finally. Every day after that day when he was seventeen was like a dream. He couldn't believe that he was finally out of the clutches of his evil parents, and he wouldn't have to endure new bruises, black eyes, and scrapes. He could finally live on his own, but he couldn't find a day that was worth living. Yes, he would go out and have coffee, and watch movies on his own, but there was nothing else but that. No friends, no family. Nothing. He stared at the ceiling when he first opened his eyes, his arms quite stiff as he did so. He groaned softly as he turned over to his side, before getting out of his bed and starting his morning routine, washing his face, taking a shower and putting some clothes on. It never took more than an hour and a half, and he made sure of it.
After he took a shower, dried himself off and put some clothes on, he made up his bed, and he planned to make himself breakfast instead of going to the coffee shop. Spending an hour or so cooking was better than spending money for food that wasn't nearly as good. He grabbed his phone off of the nightstand and he made his way downstairs clad in a shirt, pants and socks. He went to the kitchen and he put his phone on the table, thinking he would make a regular breakfast, which just was eggs, bacon and possibly pancakes if he really wanted to make them. He sighed, grabbing all the ingredients out of both the fridge and the cabinet, before hearing his phone buzz on the counter. He looked over at his phone and he raised an eyebrow, seeming confused. He woke up early, and.. he really didn't get text messages because nobody was in his contacts, except for one person. He walked over to where it was, and he picked it up. It was an email, but from an unknown address. It seemed a little sketchy, but Chiruka opened it anyways.
'Hello, Chiruka. This is the Institution of International Psychological Experiments, or IIPE for short. The town of Kawamizu has been chosen for one of our psychological experiments, called the Pain Project. Now, now, don't get intimidated by the name, for it's anything but. It's an experiment that will connect you and seven other people through both physical, mental and emotional pain. Physical pain will be nothing too big. It will go from a prick of a needle, to doing much other things, and you will understand once you go through the process.
You were seen walking the path of the crimson roses, and yes, we have footage of it. It happened exactly February 24th, 2034, at 5:42 PM. You seemed to be in a rush, but you didn't seem to take much interest in the flowers, you might've looked at them once or twice, but you didn't acknowledge them. Hence you were given the Rose of No Emotion. The other people you will be affiliated with will be Roses as well. Now, since you've been chosen to be in this project, specifically by the IIPE, you should come to the facility at 1PM sharp tomorrow. And if you're not there, we will know.
You're a Rose now, Chiruka.'
