Fandom The Only Way To Go Is Up! ~Character Applications~

Ooh, I'm intrigued! With so many characters I'm interested in, though, it's going to be tough.

It's a shame that Sanae never got to go on that Hawaii trip with Akira, now that I think about it. XD

Well, everyone is allowed to have up to three characters, if that helps? x3 And yay~! I'm glad it sounds interesting! I was worried no one would like the idea.

I have a terrible memory and have no idea what you're talking about. xD Honestly, pre-coffee in the mornings, I'm liable to forget my own name...

My memory might be foggy, too. I don't think you were there for that iteration.

To make way for the Akira x Sanae potential ship, I've decided to let the Char limit go up to 4.

Same rules still apply, you can have your charrie stay and catch up with the group.

Also Count Gensokyo Count Gensokyo I request a Cirno

Are therw limits to this Immortaility though? If there's none, then please nerf that immortaility to that of a human's mortality byt lengthened.

As long as a fairy's associated element exists, they'll respawn from that element (Cirno's is cold). That stuff is balanced out by their low intelligence in canon, though.

Why not put a limit to how much can she respawn?

Like for example, 5 respawns until she's permanently out of play?

Be real with me here.
How could you want this cinnamon roll to die?
IMG_3634.JPGI'm down with your suggestion, though.
Yo, I thought I might tag you here. I had some good times with this rp in the past. You up for it, or have you reached your rp limit? Sumirenko Sumirenko

Aaaack, you cruel being! How could I resist when there's a cinnamon roll above me--

All joking aside though, I usually don't cap over four, but seeing as one of the RPs I'm joining seems rather casual and another seems really slow/semi dead... heck, I'm down for entering here. The concept looks really fun.

Hm, now I've gotta think of some QTs of my own.

Probably gonna be one of these. It may be the choice that kills me ;w;

Futo and Kokoro
Yes

I was legit thinking about playing Futo now that I've been playing Genso Wanderer and Hopeless Masquerade lately. Coincidentally enough, Penny is the OP's waifu.

"I see. Then, maybe you should watch and consider the power of a living god...The divine power to cause miracles!"

Fandom: Touhou Project.

Name: Sanae Kochiya.

Age: In her mid teens (15-17).

Bio: (Short/Long, who cares?)

Sanae, Suwako, and Kanako originally lived in the Outside World (real life) at the Moriya Shrine. Sanae herself had inherited the power of her ancestors, who had become living gods due to the faith they collected by calling upon miracles granted by the wind goddess, Kanako. Unfortunately for them, the people of the outside world were no longer generating enough faith for their survival. In order to escape falling into a powerless obscurity, Kanako enacted a plan to send the shrine and the lake to Gensokyo where they could subsist on the abundant faith the inhabitants of that land were generating. Sanae had hoped to dominate the local Hakurei Shrine by intimidating its shrine maiden into submission with threats of her divine power and ancestry. Unfortunately, Sanae only provoked the Hakurei shrine maiden, and both she and the goddesses were soundly beaten. Afterwards, the Moriya Shrine and the youkai living on the mountain came to an understanding and were able to live peacefully with one another. As of late, Sanae has taken to youkai hunting as a means to hone and develop her skills and to keep any fears of her becoming youkai-like at bay.

Sanae is confident, energetic and dutiful, sometimes too much so, and tends to get carried away easily or have trouble thinking for herself. She also appears to be something of a geek, making references to pop culture and having knowledge of advanced scientific concepts. She's got a lot in common with your average teenager from the Outside World, considering her interest in things such as manga, extraterrestrials, the occult, and other popular fads...especially giant robots. As someone who grew up in the Outside World, much of Gensokyo seems strange and novel to her; she finds unusually great fun in exterminating youkai and solving incidents, seeming to view herself as the hero of a fantasy novel or video game. Multiple characters have noted that Sanae's dismissive attitude towards youkai and youkai power makes her too much like a youkai herself. The simple fact that she is adjusting to life in Gensokyo makes her an extremely rare case.

Equipment: A purification rod and several sealing amulets.

Normal Skills:
  • Knowledge of advanced sciencitific concepts
  • Innate spirituality

Supernatural Skills:
  • Flight: Sanae is able to fly freely through the use of her divine powers.
  • Danmaku (Bullet Hell): Have you ever heard of the term "bullet hell" before? Sanae, like many Gensokyans, has the ability to produce a great amount of projectiles at once in order to overwhelm the target with the sheer number of shots. Many users also add complex patterns in the form of spell cards to make dodging additionally difficult. These bullets are both physical and spiritual in nature, and they can perform both forms of damage at once. A danmaku user has the ability to fluctuate the lethality of their bullets, making them range from doing less than tickling the opponent to exploding upon impact. If a bullet collides with an opponent, it can bypass conventional durability to a certain extent and attack that opponent's spirit directly, which can make them grow fatigued, cause them to faint, or even kill them. Danmaku is not simply projectile spam, though; the attacks it is used for are often meant to have beautiful patterns and look very showy for observers. In the context of danmaku duels in Gensokyo, danmaku is used more as a "girls' play fight" instead of as a fight to the death. "If the bosses really wanted to kill the player, then a 10:1 bullet ratio wouldn't be necessary". However, in any serious situation, users do not adhere to the limitations of the Spell Card Rules and aim to maim or kill with their bullets. This means that bullets become overwhelmingly fast, beautiful spell card patterns are axed altogether, and attacks are meant to be impossible to dodge.
  • Possible Immortality: Given her status as a "living god" and her being a descendant of the earth goddess, Suwako Moriya, it's probable that she's immortal just like her.
  • Ability to Cause Miracles: Sanae is capable of invoking miracles through her godly heritage, and many of her spell cards are themed after miracles of various religions or odd events. It's mainly the manipulation of weather, and she also seems to use it in prayers for rain. The "miracles" that she can invoke are not related to good or bad fortune – they are merely events that have a very low chance of occurring. Before invoking a miracle, she needs time to prepare it proportional to how unlikely the miracle is. Simple ones can be invoked with a single word, while the most complex can take days. Theoretically, she could make make something with even an abysmal chance of occurring happen.
  • Abilities as a Shrine Maiden: Sanae is a shrine maiden, but of a different type than Reimu Hakurei. Like Reimu, she is capable of summoning gods, granting her some of their powers. While she relies on this ability much more than Reimu, she is only capable of summoning her patrons: Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya.

"Behold the elegant Noh play
of the reborn Menreiki!"

Fandom:
Touhou

Name:
Hata no Kokoro

Age:
She's technically 1300+ years old, but has developed her sense of self only recently.

Bio:
Kokoro is a youkai who was born from the sixty-six masks of Hata no Kawakatsu. It is unknown when she first came into Gensokyo, but she was largely overlooked until the events of Hopeless Masquerade. Kokoro went berserk when she lost one of her precious masks: the Mask of Hope. Unable to regulate her own emotions without all of her masks in place, the menreiki was forced to steal the hope of humans, which made the Human Village decline into a state of hopelessness. Luckily for them, the various influential figures of Gensokyo became beacons of hope through fighting and earning popularity, and eventually forced the rampaging youkai to calm down. It was then Mamizou Futatsuiwa taught Kokoro how to separate herself from the masks and feel emotions for herself. Ever since, the childlike youkai has set out to meet new people and learn how to express herself even more.

Kokoro has a quiet, childlike personality. She has a keen interest in the world around her and loves to ask questions. But talking to Kokoro is a very strange experience to those who aren't used to her idiosyncrasies. You see... her face hardly shows any amount of expression at all. Kokoro can be happy, excited or even crying, but her face will still retain its neutrality. The only way to tell how she is feeling is to look at the mask beside her head- it changes according to her mood- and to pay attention to her body language.

In addition to this, Kokoro's innocence makes her blunt. She simply doesn't understand what does and doesn't offend people most of the time, so she has a free tongue that can put the people who talk to her into uncomfortable situations.

While she might be quiet and odd, Kokoro has a passion for the arts (particularly the stage) and she embraces her craft with passion. Kokoro loves to go "people watching" so she can learn how they move and act; she's darn good at it, too. Now, if only she could copy their expressions...

Equipment:
All sixty-six of the masks that are her life source, her spear and fans. she also has fireworks as an attack in HM for some reason but--

Natural Skills:
- Kokoro is an actress. Even without her manipulation over emotions, she can be very convincing.

Supernatural Abilities:

- Just like almost every other youkai in Gensokyo, she has the ability to fly.

- Also like most of the people in Gensokyo, she battles with danmaku (energy-based projectiles arranged into hard-to-dodge patterns) and spell cards (stronger versions of danmaku). Very rarely is this power used with the intent to kill, as there are very specific rules set in place, but in a dire situation the power is increased as needed.

- Kokoro is a tsukomogami; a kind of youkai whose life force is tied to an object or a series of objects. In her case, these are her masks. Kokoro's wounds will regenerate given time if her main body is hit, but if all of her surrounding masks were destroyed, it could mean potential fatality.

- Kokoro's signature ability is her control over feelings. Each of her masks is imbued with the power of an emotion, and they will impress that emotion onto both the holder and the people around her. This can be somewhat spastic when Kokoro is not actively controlling herself, as her masks will always reflect what she's feeling at the time, and affect anyone that's nearby accordingly.

When I first encountered this chick at the end of Marisa's Story Mode I was like;

"Woah shit dude, who dis?"

Then she turns out to be looking for a 'mask' of some sort and it then clicked on me; This might be the final boss. Afterwards, I got recked by her on her 3rd Phase(Foxy Mask over here) over and over until I got the pattern. Then the LAST phase got me over and over until I accidentally learned how to use Skill Cards in game(Master Spark for days, yo) definitely a fun fight. Took me an Hour and a half though.

Ahhh yeah, I can definitely relate to that. Mostly because I steadfastly refused to play on any mode but Hard in HM back then. I wasn't even that good at it; I did it because one of my friends (the one who initially got me into Touhou) insisted I'd never be able to beat a Touhou game on Hard or Lunatic. So I sat down. I was DETERMINED. I got creamed by Mamizou and Miss Cool Cape until I finally reaped the fruits of my efforts... reaching the part where Kokoro was.

Then I shit you not, after the beginning dialogue, when she's supposed to do an animation

The game

froze

I don't think I touched the games for a month after that lmao. I have a working copy now, but I'm sure as heck not trying hard again. Either way, even though she's a lil' shit for freezing on me, I love the little mask child <3

Might I just say, I'm one of those writers who finds it ever so much more enjoyable to utterly destroy a character in the book, just because I know everyone will hate it that they died... XD

unless they have good purpose for surviving trough the storyline, but that's a different story... Also, hi! Good to see you again!

That's a bit powerplay unless they agree, no?
