The Oddity

Ace walked down the hall of the school his mind on the mission that had been set before him and the oddity of it. He marveled at how odd the job he had received was, and he wondered to himself why the one who hired him would want him to kill a child. It wasn't like kids were hard to kill so why hire a professional for such an easy task. Well to say the boy was a kid wasn't exactly accurate he was a 19 year old male quiet, shy, a book worm. So why the question replayed in his mind as he memorized the kids face from the picture he revived "well he doesn't look like much I doubt he even has a car" Ace said out loud not paying any mind to the multitude of students around him.

It wasn't long before he reached the office he pulled out the kids schedule and found the name of the teacher he was supposed to replace. It was the late art teacher who died not to long ago, his late wife was a librarian here it seemed Mr. Some odd name he wasn't even going to try and pronounce he meet the receptionist who was a cute 20 year old with blonde hair and green eyes who seemed to be very happy go lucky and flouncey a good combination since she was well endowed. "I'm ace I'm your new art teacher" he said putting on a charming smile for the flouncey girl who nodded eagerly and presented him with a map of the grounds and class syllabus/schedule. He walked into the hall heading towards the classroom that was to be his for the duration of the job and he thought *ugh I hate kids maybe I'll just cut the brats breaks or somethin*

Ace reached the classroom without incident and began unpacking his things and straightening the room for his new students who would arrive momentarily *good thing I was an art major in college* he thought as he finished unpacking his things he leaned against the desk his leather jacket covering the twin pistols he always carried with him

Luke tried not to make eye contact as he walked through the hall. He kept his head down and shrunk into himself trying not to gain the attention of the taller and more athletic kids wondering here and there if they saw him. He didn't ignore them though, sometimes waving if someone caught his eye only for them to look away and whisper to their friends. He always felt a prickle of embarrassment when they did that, but he didn't make a comment about it to anyone else. He was a small boy, much smaller than the boys his age, and he guessed that that was some kind of signal for everyone within a 10 mile radius to gang up on him. It didn't help that whenever this did happen he didn't stick up for himself. He liked to pretend that if he didn't give them the satisfaction that maybe they would leave him alone....it didn't work of course, but he liked the thought of it,

He turned a corner and glanced down at the paper in his hand. It was crumbled around the edges and it took him a moment of fixing it to try and see what he was looking at. he narrowed his eyes as he stopped and looked around wondering what would happen if he didn't find it. Room 190. The paper said as he grinned to himself finally. It was only a few moments away from him and he had a few minutes to himself. He looked back towards the cafeteria and shook his head. He wasn't hungry and even if he was he didn't have the money for it. He sighed to himself and didn't question it only cursing his father. he shivered as he thought of the week before and how he had kicked him out. He still could recall the moment he had snuck out and pried open the creaky door and never looked back. He wondered if his father was still looking for him, but he put it out of his mind mainly to calm himself.

He began walking again this time getting closer and closer to the door until he walked through it. It was empty--almost empty-- as the first thing he spotted was the man inside of the room. He blushed immediately and turned away only to slide past him near the desk and whisper a quick hello. Luke tried not to say anything about his sexuality to be honest. He knew he was different from the other boys his age and he didn't need to add fuel to the fire anymore than he already did. He was good looking and that was Luke's greatest weaknesses about this school. Almost every person was some sort of a s=model in their own right and Luke hated it. He was a plain joe and he wished that he were different. Sitting down at his desk he didn't say anything. He unpacked his bags and pulled out a thick book and tried to scan the words cursing himself as nothing came to mind.

((OOC: whenever my character thinks something I put it in ** is that acceptable))

Ace saw the target scrawny little thing looked like he hadn't eaten much either. *Damn I'm supposed to off the kid not make friends....but I suppose the closer I am to the target the easier he will be to get rid of* He turned to the boy but stayed leaned against the desk "what's with the huge book, you realize this is art class right?" He asked not sure what the giant English book was for he sighed and reached into his bag the tip of his right pistol glinted ever so slightly in the light it shown only for a second but it was enough to raise questions.

Ace pulled out his lunch and handed it to Luke "here you look hungry" he said as he wondered where all the students were then he remembered *O right the assembly that I wasn't going to attend anyway that's why there not here yet O well more time to figure out why my boss wants this kid dead* he looked at the boy quizzically and began wondering if this job was supposed to be a joke

Looking up slowly from his book, Luke smiled shyly and at first didn't make a comment. He suddenly felt self conscious about the huge volume in his hand, but tried not to let it show by slowly setting it down. "Oh, this is for my other class. We have to read it by next month, but I decided to start today." Luke took the lunch handed to him and blushed. "Thank you....You really didn't have to do that..." he looked away awkwardly and didn't make another comment until he remembered the assembly. Mentally slapping himself he groaned and clenched his teeth as he recalled the important announcement made yesterday.

He could remember the steely, metallic voice over the intercom as the principle--Mr. Simmons--called for a quick relapse of the school year. Slowly he stood up and began packing his bags quickly throwing a quick glance at the man. He wondered who he was briefly and why he had decided to give him his lunch out of the blue. he felt a prickle of guilt over it and took the plastic container and walked up towards the taller--he was even taller than imagined and Luke flushed at the height difference--and placed it on the desk.

"I really appreciate the gesture, but I have to get going. I forgot about the a-assembly and now I'm probably late and their going to kick me out--" he rambled to himself about the consequences and nodded to the teacher. Almost out of the door he looked back slowly and glaceed down at his shoes. "Did you want to come with me?" He tried to smile to assure himself that he wasn't nervous, but he couldn't get the feeling of of anxiousness out of the his mouth.

Ace looked the kid up and down and shrugged grabbing the lunch he walked to the kid putting it on his hands "sure why not I already got the classroom finished up anyway and its not like i have anything better to do" he said looking over his shoulder at the room to assure himself it was still mostly looking ok he took the boys hand and deposited the lunch in it "here you look like you haven't eaten in days and it's not like I was gana eat it anyway that cute secretary girl gave it to me I only took it to be polite" he said with a shrug.

Ace put his hands in his pockets and started walking down the hall slower than usual so as not to leave the boy behind. The auditorium was on the other side of campus or rather the school but because of its large size Ace called it a campus this high school was bigger than most collages which was odd since it sat in a fairly small town. The trees shown a brilliant shade of green as did the grace and the sky was clear and shinning a perfect bright aqua blue, the birds chirped incessantly as alway and some of the kids were playing hooky choosing not to go to rhe assembly as well *I hope they just skipped my introduction I don't want to have to talk to a bunch of annoying brats and squealing girls* he reached his hand up and ran it threw his mid-length black hair before starting off down the hall again his hands in his pockets and his eyes cold and blank giving away no emotion at all he could seem like a deadly and imposing figure to those who viewed him

Luke struggled to keep up with the taller gentleman with the plastic container with his lunch gripped tightly in his hands. With a small smile he tried to match the pace of the gentleman without seeming weird, but it was hard due to the fact that Luke was half his size and barely reached up to his shoulders. He looked around watching the other kids and didn't make a comment knowing that it would seem out of place. Looking at the clock on the wall he nearest to them he checked that it was, 7:49 AM, and that the assembly had been going on for about ten--maybe fifteen minutes. "I'm sorry, but what's your name? I'm Luke by the way. Luke Marshall. I'm sorta new here I guess if that's what you want to call it. I've only started coming since the end of the last semester, so I'm kinda....out of place with this whole school." He stopped talking to gasp for air knowing that it was odd of him to speak so much in such a short amount of time knowing someone. Especially his teacher of all people.

He didn't expect to make friends with anyone save for the young girl who had shown him around by the name of Madison. he forgot her last name and chastised himself, but shrugged it off knowing that he would see her again during lunch. Luke held the plastic container in his hand tightly. It had been three days since he last had something good to eat. His stomach rumbled and he worried softly to himself about the motel he was working/staying at. He was glad the manager had taken pity on him despite his hatred of the word and took a note to work overtime to show him his thanks.

Looking up and biting his lower lip he sped up quicly until he was walking side by side with the taller man. He made a soft noise and pointed towards the auditorium where everything was held and thought to himself about if it were locked already. Making a short note he ran softly and tried to pry the doors open only to be met with a soft clicking noise and the doors staying shut. He looked inside the small window as he stood on his tip toes and saw a teacher looking at him and shake her head before turning her back on him. He sighed and turned away looking for a bench to on and waited for the teacher to catch up.

"I just got here today and I'm Ace gana be your art teacher nice to meet you Luke" he said catching up to the kid *odd how short he is considering his age I mean what kind of kid is that short really* he knocked in the window and the female teacher Miss. Livingston turned her back on him as well and he gave her a death glare "stupid bitch wait till I....." he started but stopped himself as he remembering Luke "come on kid let's get in there he" said pulling out a set of lock picks it to less than 5 seconds for him to open the pathetic excuse for a lock they used on the doors.

"Hey you wana go in or just sit out here and eat you breakfast" he asked slightly conserned for the kid *consern Fuck I must be going soft I'm gana have to do something about that* and a smile fell upon his face as he looked at that bitch of a teacher *she'll be my next free of charge target* The assembly ended and he walked to the principal and traded a few words and he walked back to Luke "Come with me Luke your gana be around me the rest of the day" he said looking at the small boy

Luke nodded and looked past Ace towards the door with a sigh. He frowned softly conveying his options and at last smiled as he realized that he wouldn't want to be left alone listening to a boring speech about the new school year. He began to grin as he looked up to Ace--nearly having to look up towards the ceiling--and nodded. "Yeah, that would nice. I would actually prefer going to with you. Did you want to go towards the library? It's quiet in there and you could get some work done if you have any." he bit his bottom lip and tried not to look hopeful.

To him Ace was everything he wanted in a guy--or man for that matter-- He was tall, slick, and cool. Luke blushed as he thought about it and turned away towards the library as to not show Ace his feelings. Now that he thought about it he thought he should call Ace by his formal teacher name, but he knew that he would just forget it. Knowing that he would get the chance to hang out with the older gentleman warmed him and made him feel happy for no reason that he could identify. He sighe to himself internally and felt his chest rise up and then fall. Gripping the platic container in his hand he smiled and held it tighter as the thought of food made his stomach rumble.

Ace looked Luke up and down still unsure of what to make of the kid "don't you want to eat first" he said pointing to the container already annoyed at the constant growling of the kids stomach. He glared at the female teacher he planned to off later she wasn't to bad looking maybe he could have some fun first he thought as she walked past. He always did love the fighters and she would most definitely be a fighter he smiled a sinister smile before remembering Luke. He looked at the kid for a little "library it is I have some research to do anyway" Ace said with a shrug before slowly heading towards the library slowing to match Luke's step. The hall glowed a bright yellow as the sun streamed in Ace stops to look out the window and the bell rang and kids file into the hall all in a rush. Ace grabs Luke pulling him closer so there bodies touch the kids give Ace a fairly wide area to walk and it's obvious they were afraid of him. It doesn't take long to get to the library and Ace walks in taking a seat at a long table and waits looking at Luke expectantly.

While sitting at the table, Luke stares back at Ace before blushing and quietly opening up the food. The smell hit him and his mouth begins to water as the smell of Chinese food drifts into his mouth. There is a small fork onn the side of him, black in color and plastic, and he reaches for it before looking towards Ace. "Did you want some?" he smiles gently.

It didn't feel right to eat it all by himself without offering the man in front of him anything even though he had made it apparent that it was his to eat. He looks down at the food and stares at the thick noodles and the dark texture of the soy sauce and his stomach grumbles much to his embarrassment. Looking around no one else seems to be looking at them or for them and he wonders if the assembly is over. Glancing at the clock on the wall it seems as if it just started and Luke hopes that ir won't cut his class time. He still had a couple of summer assignments he finished and he was hoping for an early grade.
