Vincenzo Romano and Conor Sullivan
Vinnie nodded as Alex offered her help. Despite his hatred for Conor, now he'd come to his senses he felt awful for his actions. Things like this happened often in business, but Angel was right, this was vengeance. This was all too personal to not affect even a man as ruthless as Vinnie. For all his brutality, he still had a heart and compassion, a deep love for his family.
Business would still go on. The war with the Sullivans would still rage. But this battle was not about business. That's why it felt so wrong. Vinnie looked around and dismissed everyone except his kids and Angel, telling the goons to wait outside. "As soon as I'm sure we can lift Conor, we can get him to our doctor," he assured them.
Conor heard Alex's apology despite the ringing in his ears and the pain radiating through his entire body. He wasn't able to think properly to even try working out her part in all of this. He was altogether confused and uncertain about everything. He briefly opened his eyes and attempted to make a sound, but nothing came out. Instead, he simply nodded his head. He saw her beautiful face but couldn't think anything beyond it, whether it was the face of an enemy or a lover.
