Leo Davide

As the afternoon approached evening, Athena would hear the the knock at her door. Once she opened the door to let Leo in, he stepped inside. He took his boots and coat off by the door, not wanting to trail the snow into her home. "You're looking pretty, as always," he told her, placing a kiss on her cheek. He knew she didn't want to rush into things and he was far too laid back to push her, so the quick kiss would suffice. He noticed the roses she'd put into a pot. "Secret admirer?" he joked. "Happy Valentine's Day, Athena,"

Leo suddenly became surrounded by pets and that just brightened his day even more. "Calm down, doggies," he playfully said, trying to give each pet an equal amount of petting. Once he escaped the fluffy welcome, he brought his attention back onto Athena. "What would you like to do? We could go out for a meal or hang out here?" He would like to go out and make the most of the special occasion, but he hadn't counted on their being much snow. He didn't want to drag Athena out if it was too cold for her.

When Conor had left, Sinead remained in the lounge with Finn, Aidan and Carrick. She approached the piano, placing the music box Lucy had given her onto the closed lid, smiling fondly. She ran her fingertips along the paper sheet music, her face bittersweet. Maybe she could try to get her job back. The people there were always so nice and the customers appreciated the music she played for them. She knew she couldn't stay home all of the time else she would go crazy, again.

Sinead had heard Carrick's earlier respond to Conor and sighed. She knew she could never cheer him up, not just because they'd had a strained relationship, but she probably felt the same sadness he did now. She remembered months ago when the family had been playing hide and seek, then Carrick hugged her out of the blue and it made her feel better for a time. "We're all back home now," she told him and gave him a tight hug.

Sinead then sat on the couch and addressed all three of the young men. "So, what are you guys going to do this evening?" she asked them. She sent a glance towards the piano. "I've decided I'm going to go out and get my job back," she said, an excited smile now growing on her face. "Conor was right and I shouldn't be scared to pursue the things I love. None of us should be."

Alex had finished looking through her picture albums and was curled up on the couch reading a book when her phone rang. Upon answering and hearing Conor's voice she couldnt help the smile which took over her features. She agreed to meet him and moved into her bedroom to change into an outfit which better suit the weather outside. She looked in the mirror at her appearance and once she was pleased, she grabbed her bag and left the apartment, locking the door behind her. Alex much preferred living on her own at moments like this, where she could just get up and leave without having to answer any questions or make up any excuses as to why she was heading out. The light snow made the walk to the clock tower enjoyable for Alex as she loved the snow and found the city to be beautiful while covered under a white blanket.
Alex stood at the clock tower waiting for Conor and nearly jumped out of her skin when she felt something hit her square in the back. She let out a loud gasp before spinning around quickly, her eyes immediately landing on Conor laughing not that far away from her. She shook her head but a devilish smile took over her lips. She bent down and picked up a lump of snow so quick that if one was to blink they would have missed the moment entirely. Alex sneakily rolled the snow into a ball as she waited for Conor to come closer, when he was in perfect distance, Alex threw the snowball at him and watched as it hit him in the chest, she doubled over in laughter at his surprise. Alex took the last few steps towards him, smiling as she did so "Well that was some entrance" she teased with a smirk.

Nicolo greeted Angel and Lorenzo as they both entered the room. He hadnt seen Angel since that night in the restaurant and while he'd never admit it, Nicolo had missed the man being around. The last three months had been weird not seeing him hanging around. In the last three months, Nicolo had gotten to know Lorenzo alot better and he had to say, he was impressed with the man's business skills, he seemed to know what he was doing or what the best plan of action was, which in this business was always helper. Nicolo sat quietly in the meeting, listening carefully to everything that was said, taking mental notes of the important details so to remember everything for later. He sat back in his chair comfortably as he looked around the table, his eyes focused on his father as he began to talk about a potentional problem with Dimutrus "Idiots" Nicolo muttered more so to himself than anyone else. He found it hilarious how small gangs tried to cause competition with the Romano's, its not like it worked out great for anyone before.

Lucy had been confused when Sinead said that she had an idea, and was hesitant to know exactly what the idea was as she was practically dragged down the stairs against her will. Lucy hung around at the bottom awkwardly, letting her hands wring together nervously at what her sister was scheming. James' voice sounded from behind her however and she turned quickly to see him. Now smile was placed on her face, unsure if he was actually happy to see her or not. Before she had a chance to answer his question, Conor was already there calling them to his office.

Lucy's eyebrows furrowed together in slight confusion but she walked with James to Conor's office silently. However, Conor did not join them like she had expected him to and instead he locked both James and Lucy in his office. "Did Sin put you up to this?" Lucy called after James snapped at him, but when she was met with no answer behind the locked door, she sighed. Turning to James as he explained that he was about to talk anyway, Lucy nodded her head. He offered her a drink and that was something Lucy definitely couldn't say no to, her nerves were shot and this conversation was going to make it more difficult.

Taking the glass he offered, he sat next to her on the couch, keeping a good distance between them. He began to clarify that he was happy to see her alive and well, which eased some of her trouble mind. At least he wasn't swearing her name and telling her that she could rot. He began to talk about the things he thought he would say to her if and when she would return. Her father having welcomed him into the family was new, she had not known that Emmet had done things...not that it would have made a big difference in her decisions. Lucy was in the wrong for what she did, but at the time it was the best thing for the family.

Their eyes met and she bit her lip slightly, knowing that these questions were going to be once again difficult to answer. "As I told Conor in the Lounge...I didn't leave out of grief...in fact I really haven't given myself time to even do that. I left out of fear and for the protection of this family. That fucking no good prick Angel had once again gotten to me James." She gauged his reaction and spoke her next words carefully. "He had planned that whole party out and used me as a someone to hide behind. He had taken me the night that I went after Sinead and basically told me that if I didn't follow his order, he would kill father. " Lucy's head fell, disappointed in her own stupidity. "I didn't tell you or anyone else for fear of killing my dad. But that's exactly what I ended up doing in the end, leading him to his death."

"I stayed away because I knew that if I were to come back, he would have tried to use me. In that moment of time, those many months ago, I was weak. I was having suicidal thoughts, depression...I just needed to get out." The blondes eyes moved to look up at him for a moment. "I didn't want to leave any of you, I love you all so much that I thought I was doing what was best." Lucy grabbed her glass from the table and took a long drink before shaking her head. "But I know I should have said something....if I would have, my father would still be here."

Finn had been discussing things with Conor when Sinead had suddenly fetched him. Raising an eyebrow, he heard Conor call both James and Lucy to his office and wondered if they were putting them through some sort of relationship therapy. Shaking his head silently, he watched Sinead stay behind and head towards the piano, her new music box sat on the piano's closed lid. When questioned what the guy would be up to, Finn looked around at Aidan and Carrick, before saying. "I don't think we have much going on today." He was about to ask what her plans were when she spoke about getting her job back and how she couldn't be afraid anymore.

This made Finn smile and he nodded his head in encouragement. "If you get your job back, it would definitely give all us lonely blokes a chance to get out of the house now and then hmm?" He let out a laugh, looking at Aidan and Carrick. "I'm glad you finally decided to conquer your fears Sin, this is a big milestone for you."

Conor was taken by surprise as he felt the sudden impact of the snowball hitting his chest. When they reached each other, he grinned at Alex's words. "I do like to make an entrance," he informed her. He then wrapped his arms around her waist, briefly lifting her from the ground, before kissing her passionately. It wasn't that he resented being the head of his family, but he himself was still so young, due to turned 22 in just a few days. He was doing everything he could to make sure his family stayed safe and all the while keep their businesses running smoothly. He just needed some time to himself once in a while, and when he found that time he would grab it and put his all into just unwinding, even if for only a few hours. When his father and even Vinnie himself had first done this, the two were only in their early twenties. Neither of them were in such a personal and devastating war at that time, so they had years to grow into their roles. Conor didn't even have his own children yet, but at times it felt like he had that kind of responsibility.

Conor released Alex and looked down into her eyes. "Please tell me you love snow, because I kind of have a soft spot for it and I find it awfully romantic that it chose Valentine's Day to arrive."

James Porter
kllll-png.355742

James listened as Lucy began explaining why she had left. As soon as she mentioned Angel's name it dragged up James' hatred for that sick fuck, one that had been allowed to leave the forefront of his mind on account that Angel hadn't been in the city for some time now. James didn't speak yet, letting Lucy continue. The man had a good memory, so when Lucy told him Angel took her the night she went after Sinead, he knew exactly which night it was as it had been an important one for the couple. "Wait, so the same night we patched things up... The night we agreed you wouldn't lie to me, that you would tell me everything - no matter how bad - you went ahead and lied again? No matter how serious, I said." James was trying to speak calmly, but the disappointment was evident. To know she might have helped lead Emmet to his death was quite hard to take upon first hearing the words. He looked into his glass for a time, studying the clear liquid as he tried to see reason and to put himself in Lucy's place. It was difficult for him to do it. But James reasoned with himself that was because they were two different people. Lucy had a family who she'd had all of her life, he hadn't had that. James had mostly been a cold and detached man, Lucy had more emotions - more fear. It wasn't out of the question that she reacted to Angel's threats differently than to how he would have. The thing that really hurt was that she still didn't tell him the truth, whether he could have done anything to stop Emmet from being killed or not. Chances were that Emmet would have been killed sooner or later, but still.

James placed the glass down on the coffee table and twisted slightly so he could look properly at Lucy. When she mentioned she'd had suicidal thoughts, he cast his mind back to finding her holding the piece of glass in her hand that night. Whilst she had been staring trance-like at the sharp object, he hadn't even picked up on what was going through her mind that night, he was grieving too.

"I know it's selfish, but I guess I'm just disappointed that you lied to me again. I can't tell you your father would still be alive had you acted differently. Angel is psychotic and would likely have found another way to kill Emmet. I understand that he left you with little choice and you were afraid. Whether or not you thought I'd have been able to stop him, you should have just told me the truth. I would have at the very least been able to share your burden... It might help you to know Angel hasn't been seen around the city for some time now." James looked Lucy in the eyes and sighed. "Have the others accepted you back?" he asked her. The last thing the Sullivans needed was bad blood between each other, not if they were to remain strong. "I know Sinead missed you a tonne, and Carrick seems dejected too. I think it would help them if they knew you were going to be sticking around."

Lucy saw and heard the disappointment in James as he responded to her confession as to why she left and why she was gone for so long. "I realize now that it would have been easier on myself and to everyone if I would have told you...And I'm sorry that I chose to keep it from you, even though I promised I wouldn't lie anymore." Lucy murmured the apology, her eyes peered into his own. When news of Angel not being around was announced, her brows shot up. The man had told her that he wanted to paint the whole town red with blood and he had disappeared...just like she had. It pleased her that the man hadn't been seen around.

"Well, even if he were to return...I think I'm prepared if he decides to try and use me again. I did a lot of growing up in New York...terrible city, its like hundreds of Angel's running around in those parts." She shrugged her shoulders softly, the expression on her face staying neutral. When he asked about the other's accepting her back, Lucy let out a sigh. "Conor and Sinead have...it took Sinead a little of convincing, but she was angry with me, as she should be. The poor girl was miserable during those months I hear...."Lucy shook her head softly. "Carrick hasn't said a word to me yet...I'm sure he is going to be the one I have the most problem with, we weren't as close before...but just like everyone else I abandoned him."

Lucy looked down as Lady yawned and stretched out her paws on the ground beside the couch. Lucy reached a tentative hand a stroke the dogs fur. "I knew she was a perfect match for you." Lucy remarked as she looked down at the pup. "Thank you for watching over her and taking such great care of her while I was gone." The dog leaned into her touch but remained laying where she was. Lucy decided to address the elephant in the room at that moment. "What about you?" She looked up at James and retracted her hand, grabbing her glass and taking another drink. "Despite your emotionless shell, I can see that I have hurt you more than the others...do you accept me back? At least as a friend?" Lucy didn't want to push her luck to think that everything between them would go back to normal.

"I know that I have a shit ton of making up to do for everything. But I never stopped thinking about you or this family. Thanksgiving, Christmas...New Years, they were hell without you all."

Alex smiled "oh I know that" she commented in relation to his entrance. When he slightly lifted her off the ground Alex let out a surprised gasp, which quickly faded when she felt his lips on hers. Alex briefly wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him back, a smile on her face when they pulled apart. Since Conor was the new Sullivan boss she knew that he no longer had any real fear of the two off them getting caught. She knew that she should still be fearful of her father finding out however since she distanced herself, she had started to live her life as though she was a normal girl from a normal family and not the daughter of one of the most powerful mob bosses. Alex had no fear of the Sullivans hurting her since she was seeing Conor and while her father had other enemies, the Sullivans were always the ones she was too fear and now that Emmet was gone and Lucy has disappeared, Alex didnt see the point of being scared anymore.
When he asked about the snow a child like grin spread across her face as she put her arms out by her sides "I love the snow" she stated excitedly. A twinkle played in her eyes as she looked up at him "The snow and being here with you are definitely making it the perfect Valentines day"

Sinead Sullivan
jk.png Sinead beamed at Finn's encouragement. Since he comforted her during the fallout of her father's death, she'd been closer to her cousin. He reminded her of Conor and sometimes she would seek Finn's comfort now so as not to burden her older brother too much with her troubles. She knew how much pressure Conor was under now. "If I get my job back, you're all welcome to get out of the house and come see me at the restaurant. It's got a dress code, though. Not like the Emerald. Honestly, some of the men who drink there need a wash," she joked. She nodded at the mention of her conquering her fears. "Thank you," she softly told him. She then forced herself to stand up and wave to the guys. "I'm going to head off now, so I can at least get there before peak time and speak to Mr. Buchanan. Byee!"

When Sinead put her coat on, she felt the weight in left left pocket and reached her hand inside to feel the gun that had been left for her, presumably by Conor or James. She sighed before fastening her coat up and leaving the house. As soon as she reached the end of the driveway and was sure nobody was watching, she reached over the waist-heigh wall and buried the gun deep within some shrubs. She would retrieve it when she returned home. Whilst she knew the weapon was for her own protection and she wasn't afraid of it, she was scared of taking someone else's life and the punishment that would follow.

After a brisk walk, Sinead made it to the Lakeside Restaurant and was happy to be greeted by the manager himself. Mr. Buchanan had been aware she quit the job because of her father's death. He always kept the position open for her, none of her replacements ever being as reliable, but he was still surprised when she showed up tonight. Sinead was pleased to see very little had changed. Most of the same people were still working there, with the exception of Steve, one of the waiters. It turned out he'd quit and was working in a nearby bar instead. She was glad he'd left as when she rejected his advances last October, he'd been both clingy and snappy with her in the days that followed. But she didn't need to worry about him now because he was out of there. When Mr. Buchanan told her she could have her job back, she gave the surprised 60 year old man a tight hug.

After sharing a glass of wine with her colleagues, she decided to head off back home, her first shift was a few days away. When she left the restaurant, she set off walking, admiring the beautiful orange sunset on the horizon. It was usually only a 30 minute walk, but she was having to be extra cautious now the pavements were a little slippery. She was being cautious as she walked, making nobody was following her. She couldn't shift the feeling that she was being watched. Though that usually came with the Sullivan name.

James bit his lip and nodded as Lucy apologised for lying to him. She went on to say if Angel did return, she'd grown up and was prepared for him this time. "Oh, I hope so, Lucy, because he will return, the only question is when. So it's important we all remain open with each other should he try anything again."

"Conor was never going to be anything but welcoming, he's doing much better than I would have given him credit for," he told her. "Sinead was bound to have a breakdown and I don't think you staying would have prevented it. Your mother got her the help she needed, though." Carrick never said much about what he was feeling, which James wasn't about to judge him for. He figured Lucy would need to approach her youngest brother directly.

James smiled when talk turned to Lady. He watched as Lucy stroked the dog and heard her say they made the perfect match. "She'd a good dog, Lucy. Needs lots of exercise, else she can be a pain in the ass. It was a pleasure looking after her whilst you were gone. She'll soon forgive you for leaving her - especially if you have treats," he joked.

James' smile faded when Lucy asked him the questions he'd been expecting but putting off answering. He nodded his head in agreement when she said she could see she had hurt him. "I missed you like crazy. I'd never experienced this kind of heartbreak before and it took a lot of me to shut away my feelings. I told myself I no longer loved you and I locked those feelings away so I could focus again. I thought I'd done a good job of it, but now here you are and all I can feel is... the feelings I thought were gone," he tried to explain. "I don't want to spend our days avoiding each other and being awkward around the house. Of course I will accept you back. I don't know what you've been through in New York and what changed for you. I'll learn to understand if you have put our relationship to sleep, so if you just want to be friends, then it's better than nothing," he told her. It seemed like she'd moved on during her time away. Whilst he knew he'd have to get over their relationship all over again, he would settle for friends rather than nothing at all. It was the only way he could support the family. James blinked away any potentially forming emotion. He realised that despite everything she'd done, he still loved her and wished they could somehow be together again.

Lucy listened silently as James spoke of his feelings on her leaving him. Confirming that she had hurt him in a way that caused him to change into the man he had once been before they were together, the man with no emotions. He missed her and from the words he spoke, it sounded like he still loved her and wanted to be with her. When he finished speaking, she stared at him for a long time, trying to remain as expressionless as he. She noticed the blink he gave her and knew he was holding back. After another long moment, Lucy let a small smile form on her lips, a small dimple revealing itself on her cheek. "I mean, friends is better than nothing...but I would be lying to myself and to you if I were to say that I would be happy with being just that." There was a little flirty hint to the tone of her voice and she smiled a little wider.

"I had sworn to Conor that I wouldn't lie again, I have to put trust in you all. So I am being honest with you now..." Biting her lip, she took a deep breath through her nose before speaking. "I thought about you every single day. I had needed something to get me through the harsh days. I had arrived in New York and immediately my luggage was stolen. My money and clothing gone. I needed quick cash..." Lucy wasn't sure how James would react to Lucy being with other men, while she was away. It wasn't for love, or even for her own sexual desires..Lucy did what she had to do. "I worked at one of the gentleman's clubs when offered a position there by a woman who found me sitting in the pouring rain. I did things I am not proud of, things that are not proper of a woman...but I never ever let you leave my mind. Now if this is the deciding factor in our continuation of the relationship, then I will understand if you want us to remain friends..."

Lucy looked him in the eyes and the smile fell from her face, "But I don't think I will ever be truly happy without your love..."

Giovanni "Angel" Gambino

Angel had left the meeting after discussing the Casino deal, telling Vinnie to keep him updated on the issue and if he should "give the man an offer he couldn't refuse". He stood, leaned against a lamp post, waiting. He had since grown accustom to the weather, wearing a heavy coat and warm pants. The snow continued to fall around him, happy couples, clearly enjoying their holiday of love, walking past him.

He could see her out in the distance, clearly not spotting him yet. She looked happy and content, which almost made him second guess his choice to intervene himself into her life again. As she got closer, he could see the features on her face that he had once memorized. She hadn't seemed to changed a bit, which caused him to relax slightly. Once she was within a couple feet, he decided to speak. "Hello, Sinead." He had no urge to hide the fact that he was waiting for her, stepping off of the lamp post and slowly walking closer.

Conor smiled when Alex confirmed she loved the snow and being with him made the day perfect. He was glad that Alex had moved out of Vinnie's place as it gave her some distance from the man and his business. He always knew she'd be happier if she wasn't living under the same roof as the bully. "Come on," he said, taking her hand and leading her to the gazebo by the park entrance. The was a dry bench in the shelter of the gazebo, so he sat there next to her. He placed his arm around Alex as he watched the sunset create a beautiful orange glow across the snow-covered grass. "I have something for you," he began, reaching into his pocket. "I'm not proposing, so don't worry about that," he quickly assured her. He removed a small rectangular box and handed it to her. When she opened it, she would find a silver necklace with a rose-shaped pendant. "Happy Valentine's Day," he told her."

James raised a curious eyebrow when Lucy suggested friends would be fine, but she wouldn't really be happy with just that and he did share a reluctant smile with her. Judging by the flirty hint in her voice, she was suggesting she wanted them to be more than friends. He wasn't sure if they could go back to what they'd had before, not when he was now feelings a little guilty for what he was holding back from her. It hadn't been relevant when he thought they were just going to settle for being friends, but now he realised he might have to come clean too, just for the sake of transparency.

Before he had chance to speak of his minor issue she began confessing something to him. She'd beaten him to honesty, this time. He frowned when she mentioned she'd had her belongings stolen in New York. Then she explained she'd worked at a gentleman's club and done things she wasn't proud of. He didn't like the idea of her being with other men in that way and he couldn't help but show it on his face. "I'm sorry you had to do those things to get by and I hope none of those men hurt you," he told her. He was taking what she had told him much better than both of them would have expected. "It's not a nice thing to hear, but I understand and I'm just glad you've told me."

When she told him she wouldn't be happy without his love, he nodded his head and allowed his features to soften. "I'm happy to try again, Lucy." James let out an apprehensive sigh. "This wasn't relevant until you just said you still wanted more than friends, but as we're being honest... I've slept with three women over the last few weeks. None of them meant anything, at all. I'd accepted you weren't coming back and I went back to their places after nights out. I know I wasn't being unfaithful, but I should still tell you."

As Sinead walked, she was more cautious about what could be happening behind her that she hadn't really noticed the man waiting ahead of her until it was too late. When she heard the man speak her name, she gasped. She recognised Angel's voice and her eyes widened as he stepped into view to approach her. "Giovanni?" she asked. Her mind was cast back to their last interaction, the day he told her he couldn't see her for a while, which she took to mean he was ending things with her. She folded her arms and looked him in the eyes. "I didn't think I'd see your face again," she told him, trying to sound as stern as she could despite her naturally sweet-sounding voice.

Since Angel had left her, she hadn't felt the same, not in her heart. As far as she believed, this man used her and then discarded her, not giving second thought for the heartache he left behind. She'd tried to believe he had done it for her sake, but then he never came back to try set the record straight. He just left her to crumble. "I suppose you were hoping not to see me again, huh?" she asked. "I don't know if you will even care, but you really hurt me when you called me that day. What did I ever do wrong to you?!"

It felt good to come clean about everything that she had done in New York and at first, she had expected him to be angry. But when her responded in the exact opposite way her brows shot up and wondered what was up. Her eyes stared at him for a moment, surprise evident in her features. They softened slightly when he said he was willing to give their relationship another try and a small smile formed. But once he revealed a little secret that he had, it fell from her face almost immediately and for a moment, she felt a fierce wave of jealousy.

He was right, he wasn't being unfaithful to her. She had been the one to walk out on him, leaving him to believe that she was never going to come back. He had to force himself to believe that he no longer loved her. Lucy had expected that he had found someone new, hoping that they would be nothing of importance to him. He confirmed that they weren't but the truth still stung. Lucy looked down at the ground where Lady was laying and bit her lip, trying to find the right words. "Well, thank you for being honest with me as well.." She paused briefly to meet his eyes and sighed softly.

"I want to make this work, because we both deserve some sort of happy ending. And since Conor and Sinead are the ones who locked us in here...I would say that we have a good part of the family backing us up on this. You don't have to let all your walls down now, I would be a fool to think if things would just go back to normal and that we would pretend that none of this happened, but I just want to let you know that you don't have to hide your emotions around me again...and I won't hide mine or anything else for that matter."

Alex smiled as he took her hand and walked alongside him to the gazebo. When they sat down on the bench, Alex leaned into his side, looking out at the snow falling outside of the shelter of the gazebo. She found it to be a beautiful sight and there was noone she would rather share it with. When Conor spoke she turned her head to face him, a quizzical eyebrow raised as he reached into his coat pocket, it raised even higher when he produced a small box. She half expected him to get on one knee until he assured her he wasnt going to. She let out a little laugh as she took the box off him. The one thing Alex didnt like about opening presents was being watched, unsure as how to react to gifts in a way that made the giver happy. So as she carefully opened the box she wore an embarrased smile. However the embarrasment left her face as she saw the necklace. She stared at it for a couple of seconds in awe before taking it out of the box with a massive smile on her face. Alex handed the chain to Conor before turning her body slightly so her back was to him and she lifted her hair so that he could place the chain on her.
When the chain was secure, Alex dropped her hair and turned back around hugging Conor as she placed a passionate kiss on his lips "Thank you, it's beautiful" she said, the awe was still present in her tone as she spoke

Conor laughed as he watched Alex opened her present. "It was worth buying that just to see your little embarrassed face," he teased her. He took the chain when she handed it to him and he carefully fastened it around her. He gently ran his fingertips down her neck and collarbone before letting her turn back to hug and kiss him. "I'm glad you like it, Alex," he told her. "I know we can't always see each other often or live like a normal couple, but I just wanted to assure you I am serious about us. I hope that some day soon we won't have to hide and we can be together without concern for what other people will say or do." He sighed, just wishing he knew how to achieve that. "I don't want this war to continue. You've lost your mother and I've lost my father. I'm doing everything I can to stop there from being any more casualties." Conor had found it difficult not getting revenge, but then he remembered the way Vinnie acted after trying to drown him - the man wasn't any happier from it, the revenge had done nothing to bring Gianna back.

James Porter

James noticed the way the smile fell from Lucy's face after his little confession and he wondered if he'd managed to put her off trying again with him. She eventually said she wanted to make them work and they deserved happiness, which admittedly made him feel relieved. "I would like to try make this work, too. It turns out I'm not as content without you in my life as I'd believed," he told her. "Conor and Sinead are hopeless romantics, so it doesn't surprise me one bit that this was their little plan." He thought about what she'd said about him not having to hide his emotions. "It's not just going to fall back into place and get back to normal overnight, but I'm happy for us to try. I'll do my best to be open about my feelings with you," he assured her.

James shuffled closer to Lucy and placed his arm around her, pulling her closer to him. "I didn't really say it before, but I'm really happy you're back now. I care for everyone in this house, but talking to them isn't quite the same and I certainly didn't want to kiss any of them," he joked.

"Nothing, Sinead. You didn't do anything wrong. Look," He kept his hands in the pockets of his jacket, biting down on his lower lip. "You have to believe me when I tell you, I never wanted to hurt you." He sighed lightly. He knew had hurt her beyond belief, it was made worse by the fact that he knew there was nothing he could do to makeup for that. He looked to the snow below him, before looking back up at her, defeat evident in his eyes. He shrugged, shaking his head. "I thought I was doing the right thing by letting you go. I don't want you to think I used you. I don't want you to think I don't care about you." He let out a slight chuckle, recognizing the irony. "Would you believe me if I told you, you are the only thing I have ever cared about?"

"Letting you go was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. The only reason I was able to do it, was because I thought it was best for you. You showed me a whole different perspective of life. To see that and then suddenly close the door is unbearable."

"When I heard about your father, I tired to come back, to be there for you. I didn't have the chance to. We were all sent away to evade the police. They flew me all the way out to Sicily to get away. I got back last night and the first thing I did was track you down. I wanted to tell you I still love you. When you left my life, you took a piece of me with you." He stepped closer, squishing the snow beneath him. "I know what I did was wrong and... Stupid. Maybe it was a mistake to find you again, but can you find it in your heart to forgive me?"

Aidan was quite shocked when Lucy explained everything that led to her decision to leave. He quickly realized that the the cause of Emmet's death was Angel's. As he suspected, it had something to do with the Romanos.
At some point, Sinead had an outburst and Lucy went after her. It wasn't long though as it seemed the girl made up eventually with their talk together.
When Conor left to do something, the boy stayed in the lounge, leaning against the wall. He watched as Sinead headed towards the piano, asking everyone what the plans were for the evening. "Uh..I've been thinking about going to the cinema today." Aidan answered.

A big smile grew on his face as she revealed that she would get her job back, "That's great Sin!." He exclaimed, praising her. Aidan loved his cousin and was quite ecstatic that she was facing her fears. Better late than never.

The young man watched as she then left the home.

As she surfed through channels on the television, Athena heard a knock at the door. "Who could that be?" She questioned her furry friends. The young woman got to her feet and headed to the front door. She opened the door to reveal a certain blue-eyed man. "Hey." The girl greeted, letting him in. After he removed his coat and boots, she turned to him, hearing his comment. Athena let a small smile appear as he kissed her cheek, the girl got lucky with him. Thena appreciated how respectful and thoughtful Leo was. It was a hard trait to find these days.

Her attention would soon redirect back to the roses in the pot with his joke. Athena chuckled, "Oh I don't know. Maybe it's Elliot." She joked. They both knew that the waiter three months ago had been flirting with her. What's even more amusing that it took Leo explaining her the signs of flirting for her to realize that the waiter had indeed, flirted with her. She turned her attention back to Leo. She smiled softly. "Happy Valentine's Day Leo."

The sight of the dogs and even Indie, the small cat rushing to Leo was an amusing sight. After giving her favorite furry animals some attention, Leo turned back to her. The young woman bit her bottom lip in thought. "Going out for a meal sounds like good a idea." Athena answered. She pushed her wild curls away from her face.
It was Valentine's Day after all and Athena didn't want to be stuck inside for the evening. She didn't want to waste this magical day away.

"Do you have any ideas of where we should go?" She questioned, wondering what his answer would be.

Lucy nodded and offered a soft smile as James said he would do his best to open up to her again. That's when he moved closer to her and placed and arm around her. Lucy allowed him to pull her close and she instinctively leaned into him allowing his warmth and familiarity consume her for a moment. When he revealed that he was happy that she was back, the smile grew wider on her face and she let out a small laugh as he joke with her. "I would certainly hope you wouldn't want to kiss any of them." She murmured. She couldn't help but wrap her arms around his middle and hugging him closer to her.

"So things have been calm around these parts now? Seems like that has something to do with Angel leaving. Hopefully he doesn't come back anytime soon." Lucy's hatred for the man was what kept her in New York for so long, she wanted to prove that she wasn't going to be under his control and it seemed to have worked if he wasn't around. "Oh I brought you back something from New York! But its downstairs in the lounge...." Lucy looked towards the locked door and shook her head lightly. "I can't believe they would lock us in here, they really are hopeless romantics."Rolling her eyes, she shrugged her shoulders. Lucy shifted and eyed the picture of her father on one of the side tables in the office. Her heart ached. There wasn't pictures of her family in New York, she had no reminders of his death. Now they seemed to be all over the home, she tried to think of positive things however, not wanting her negative thoughts to consume her. "My father would be happy with our decision I'm sure." Noting how he had mentioned her father had welcomed him into the family a few hours before his death.

Sinead let out a sigh when Angel told her she didn't do anything wrong. She looked past him when he said he never wanted to hurt her, trying her best not to fall for his words or let him off the hook so easily. She was glad to hear him say she shouldn't think he used her. She looked back to him so she could observe his face as he spoke. When he told her she was the only thing he'd ever cared about his words sounded genuine and so seemed the expression on his face. "I want to believe you when you say you care about me. It's just so hard to imagine how you could leave someone behind if you care for them." She bit her lip, thinking of how he wasn't the first person to leave her and now return. Lucy cared about her and she had to leave too, but now she's back Sinead believes her sister still loves her. Perhaps it wasn't impossible that Angel could be telling the truth too.

"Do you realise now that letting me go wasn't the right thing to do?" she asked him. "I'm glad I could show you what life should be like. When you were with me you were romantic, gentle and kind. You were Giovanni and that's who you should always strive to be."

Sinead bit her lip and quickly shook her head when Angel mentioned her father and that he couldn't come back to her when he'd heard. "It was probably for the best you left the city, because you wouldn't have found me anyway. I struggled with everything. I felt like my head had been ripped apart, I didn't know who I was at all, and I had to go to the hospital. It was the worst place I've ever been and the doctors were cruel; they made me feel like I was a bad person..." Sinead caught something he said and frowned. "Whilst I'm touched you cared enough to lose a piece of yourself because of me, I didn't leave your life, Giovanni. You left me!" she firmly told him.

When Angel stepped closer, Sinead folded her arms tighter and tensed her body. Then he admitted his actions were wrong and that he hoped she could forgive him. She let out a deep breath and relaxed, unfolding her arms and letting them hang by her sides. "So much has been taken from my heart that I have so much space for love and forgiveness. I can forgive you," she told him, biting her lip as she quickly nodded. "But you've got a lot of making up to do. How are you going to make it up to me?" she asked, a playful tone slipping into her voice.

"
Ah stop, I get awkward opening presents in front of people like what if I don't like a present, I cant prevent my initial reaction from being truthful and if someone spent the time picking out a present, I cant hurt their feelings" she explained.
When he explained his feelings and the sentiment behind the necklace, Alex smiled at him "I understand and I feel the same way, I love you and I accept the way things are" she said. "Maybe someday we'll be free to do what we want but while my father and Angels alive I dont see that happening soon" A hint of sadness crept into her tone as she spoke. When Alex finished speaking, her eyes widened as though she only realised what she had said "dont get me wrong, I know Im not on speaking terms with Angel nor do I really have a relationship with my father anymore but I dont want them to die, I just ... wish they were different" A slight frown came onto her features. "If that night was anything to go by, my family does not want peace, I think they thrive of war and while they havnt done anything yet I say the moment Angel returns from wherever hevi is, its going to be a hellstorm again. I know you wont but just please dont ever trust my father and dont ever underestimate him. He doesnt care who he stands on to get his way" The anger which Alex had felt that night became evident again in her tone of voice. She despised them both but deep down she knew she cared for them and did not want them getting hurt. What annoyed her the most was even after distancing herself and carrying on a normal life, their actions still somehow annoyed her and she knew it was only a matter of time before their actions began to affect her and her life again as well. Alex bit her lip as she realised that she had begin to ramble and tense up, she had told herself that she was over that night but clearly she wasnt. Alex took a deep breathe as she untensed her body "Sorry about that, clearly there's some issues I have yet to work out" she said with a sheepish grin "Im sure this is the last thing you want to talk about since I say you came out to get away from buisness" Alex leaned into his side again when she had relaxed herself again. "So tell me is their anything fun going on in the Sullivan household? Or have you done anything wild since I last saw you?" She questioned looking up towards him from where she was resting her head on his chest.

James ran his fingers through Lucy's hair and kissed the top of her head as she hugged him. He couldn't help but think perhaps things really could work for them and that there was still hope for him him having a future.

"Yeah, things have been really calm. It was unsettling at first, but now it feels good, like we're pretty much back to doing business. The Romanos have mostly stayed away and we've done the same, though it was difficult early on to refrain from carrying out revenge. Your father wanted peace and Conor's job is hard enough, so it was better not to go shooting every Italian in sight. It wouldn't have brought anyone back. It'll be better for both families if Angel stays away."

When she mentioned she'd bought him something back he was quite curious. "Way to tease me, Lucy. Telling me you've got me a present while we're locked here where I can't even get it," he joked. "I'll get Conor back for this, don't you worry."

Lucy turned the conversation to Emmet and James couldn't help but feel sad by the thought. There had been weeks leading up to the man's death that James had been convinced Emmet disliked him and didn't trust him, meaning he thought his days with the Sullivans were numbered. But then Emmet returned from his time away and accepted him. Most importantly, he accepted James having a relationship with Lucy. "I believe he would be happy too. At his birthday party he told me how much he liked the idea of us being together, so much so that he said he would happily call me his son-in-law." James had been touched by that moment with Emmet only to have it all ripped away from him a short time later.

Angel was relieved to hear Sinead forgive him. He stepped closer as well, reaching for her hand. He ran his thumb across the back of her hand, looking to it before looking back up at her. "Well," His eyes were now warm and inviting, a sincere smile upon his lips. "I don't know about you," he shrugged lightly, "but, what I really wanna' do is escape all the work tomorrow, pick you up in the morning, and spend the whole day with you. We can do whatever you want, but, tomorrow night I have something planned for the two of us." He pulled her in closer, shielding her from the falling snow. "I know I have a lot of making up to do. So i'm starting as soon as possible."

He wrapped his arms around her back, hugging her tightly. He rested her head against his chest, allowing her to feel his rapidly beating heart. He knew one of two things could've happened when she saw him. He was glad it didn't have to be the end. He had seemingly finished with Lucy, vaporizing every drop of innocence. She was now a shell of her former self. Now, for his new project, one that wouldn't be so temporary. While she was clasped against his chest, he couldn't help the sinister smile from creeping onto his face.

Lucy was surprised by this news, she did not know her father had gone as far as to think about marriage between the two of them. Biting her lip, she felt sad about the fact that he wouldn't be there even if they were to get married. He wouldn't be able to walk her down the aisle, or Sinead. The thought made her heart ache again. "He said that?" She asked rhetorically before smiling softly. "You remember when we were afraid he wasn't going to allow it?" She asked as she sat up a bit to look at him.

"Or when my mom walked into the room." Shaking her head, she laughed at that seemingly distance memory before reverting back to an almost emotionless expression. She wondered if James had thought about marriage like she had. "At one point...before I left, did you think you would marry me?" She asked tentatively , knowing it was one question that was probably off limits. Curiosity had gotten the best of her and she looked to him beneath her lashes, afraid of what he might say because she really couldn't imagine what he would say.

"Ah, Elliot," Leo reminisced. "With flirting as obvious as his was, I wouldn't exactly have called him a secret admirer," he teased.

When she asked if he had any ideas of where they could go, he pretended to think. "Hmmm. Are you hungry? We could get some dinner?" he asked. "I imagine everywhere is busy with it being Valentine's Day, but luckily, I'm your date. On the chance you'd want to go out tonight, I already booked us a table at a restaurant," he grinned. "And if you have a warm coat, I thought we could go for a walk afterwards. I find the city to be really quite beautiful when it snows. There's something clean and pure about it." All of the dark corruption is hidden.

Sinead followed Angel's gaze down to her hand and felt his thumb softly run across her skin. She then looked back up to him to see the familiar warmth in his eyes. When he suggested spending the whole day tomorrow together and that he had something planned for the evening, she smiled brightly at him. "That sounds like a wonderful idea. It's certainly a start, if you're going to come back into my good books," she half-joked. "Now I'm excited, Giovanni. Any clues as to what you have planned?" she curiously asked him, though she suspected he would tell her to wait and see. She didn't mind surprises, even if she hated the wait.

Sinead felt her heart warm as Angel wrapped his arms around her and hugged her. With her head pressed against his chest, she smiled to herself as she could feel his heart beating for her. She felt so warm and comfortable in his arms. She hoped he could help mend her heart so she could feel truly happy again. She wrapped her arms around his waist and closed her eyes. "I still love you, Giovanni," she whispered.
