Angel reached into his pocket, moving for another cigar. Placing it in his lips, he re-ignited it with his zippo lighter. His eyes then scanned to Fortuna and Monte. After taking a brisk inhale of his cigar, he spoke. "Miss Stella, I think it'd be best if you did the negotiation with the Duilios and just took some soldiers with you. If i'm anywhere near that spineless goon, i'm gonna' blow his brains out." His eyes moved towards Monte, gripping the cigar in his fingers. "I'll take Monte with me to do some 'home improvements' on Sinead's place."

“Vinnie, I assure you we can look after ourselves. Martzel, Ander, Danny...even Jona and I. Our place is safe...Trust me, if anyone comes after my home, it won’t go unpunished.” Her face turned stone cold. It became very apparent why she was the lady in charge of the Azarolas. “And on the smuggling, it was looking as if we were being skimped. I’ve got the situation under control. You should watch after yourself though, Vinnie. The tree falls where it leans. Be careful you don’t create a self-fulfilling prophecy” She walked over to the cabinet in the corner and took out two glasses and a wine glass. “Wine?” She poured one for herself and tilted the bottle towards him. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you as well. Some of your boys have been causing trouble...I don’t appreciate that.”

"Yes, that does seem like the best course of action." Fortuna said with a nod of agreement upon hearing Angel's words to her. Smoothing out the wrinkles in her dress as she stood up from her seat, she flashed the only other two people in the room a peaceful, closed-eye smile. "Well, I suppose I should get going now." She told them, turning heel as she sauntered her way over to the door. "Good luck, you two." She gave them a wink, laughing softly all the while before she left.

Giorgio followed alongside Conor to the designated corner. With his sister now out of the way, he found himself able to relax ever so slightly. "Look, I've got nothing against you," he admitted in hopes of lightening the mood. "If I did, we wouldn't be just talking now, would we?" Even so, he was wary around the Sullivan. "Still, I can't help but feel disappointed. I expected you to have known better." He cleared his throat. "All I want is the safety of my sister, you can surely understand this, correct?" Giorgio asked, trying to be as assertive yet reasonable as possible. "But forget about that. Let's hear this story now." He wanted to know what had transpired earlier in the evening to bring Conor and Alex together.

"Oh, well, it sounds like you've got this place under control... and the smuggling," Vinnie replied, with a slight hint of sarcasm in his voice. "And when you step outside of this place, will those four be with you? When I say things are personal, I don't just mean your business. I mean you," he gravely told her. "You don't need to worry about me. If something should happen, I always have backup plans." He watched as the young woman walked to the cabinet to get some wine glasses. "Just a little, thank you," he reluctantly accepted the drink. He wasn't planning on staying around much longer, especially as he didn't have patience for the general crowd that occupied the bar on a Saturday night. When Maite mentioned some of his men had been misbehaving, Vinnie didn't even try to hold back his scoff. "Which boys and what have they been doing?" he seriously asked.

Conor Sullivan

Conor stood with his arms folded, feeling a little patronised by the way Giorgio started off talking to him, but choosing to remain silent to fully hear him out. Sinead and the others often did tell him he didn't give people enough time to explain themselves. When the Italian asked for the real story and then stopped speaking for Conor to answer, the Irishman unfolded his arms so he could speak more openly.

"I think you need to relax a little before you start to sound like my old ma!" he said, referring to his mother. "There's nothing much to tell you, Giorgio. I was outside earlier and I saw your sister walking out on her own. There'd been a man shot dead and a bakery set on fire around the same time. I have sisters myself, one of them younger and she's so sweet I just want to protect her all the time. So anyway, when I saw Alex on her own, I couldn't help but step in. It turned out we were both heading to this casino, so we agreed to walk here together. We'd not been here for very long at all when you saw us, so I hadn't had time to break away from Alex's company." He shrugged his shoulders, almost challenging Giorgio to argue with the explanation. "I wouldn't hurt your sister, and I wouldn't expect your family to hurt Sinead. Whatever our families think of each other, our younger sisters are innocent in all of this."

Benny the Detective took his merry time getting to wherever this crime had taken place. From what the chap could recall it was a fine cocktail of mercer and arson. Sounds like a mobster's dirty work to be honest. Possibly removing a rival business from the scene and all that cliché crap.

A thirty minutes drive and the Englishman was already at the scene of the wrong doings. The corpse was still laid out on the ground, yet awaiting to be taken to the local morgue. He happened to be positioned right next to the bakery that got taken out not too long ago.

Ben stepped out of his vehicle. An officer of the force easily recognised after a flash of a police badge and soon Ben had bypassed the restrictions set around this scene. He took a look at the husk of a bakery to assess the damage. Good ol' fashion fire is clearly to blame here. But right now it's about finding what had caused this blaze in the first place.

The fire in the bakery had by now been put out, leaving much of the building's interior burned and blackened. The damage was mostly superficial and the building safe to enter. One of the firefighters explained the fire was started intentionally with nothing more than some gasoline and matches. There had been nothing fancy here, just a basic case of arson.

Sergeant Thawn would be able to tell the Detective and Lieutenant that the baker's death appeared equally simple. Witnesses had seen the victim leave the burning building before being shot twice in the head, with the killer fleeing the scene.

If this was the work of Vincenzo Romano, it would be one of his most basic and public hits to date. Perhaps it was a distraction or he wanted people to see this one - to get the message. Who could be sure?

The three men were then joined by a police officer who had been communicating with the CPD over the car radio. "I've just heard there's been a murder over at the Whistlers Jazz Club. Some unidentified guy had his throat slit inside the dressing room belonging to one Sinead Sullivan. I was expecting a quiet night tonight..." he trailed off.

Dylan remembered the two men that were approaching them from the bar. They had eyed sinead in a suspicious manner, which he could only assume they were the men the boss of the sullivan gang sent to protect the girl. However, he was slightly surprised at the way she acted towards the two. It was a rarity to see her lash out, but it was understandable given the circumstances that had found her. He wasn't quite sure how to respond to Sinead's comment about the blood. He knew the scene would no doubt cause her to experience PTSD. He instead let the comment hang in the air, despite the heaviness it brought about in the air. after some time passed, he asked her: "Do you need somewhere to stay, or do you want to be taken home?"

Luca Piero D'Angelo
Luca could be seen hanging outside the Emerald Irish pub, holding a cigar on his left hand. He should had been at the Sullivan household but he had wanted to get a drink from the place, after all it was the one place he could really come to, controlled by boss gang. He threw the cigar down before going back inside.

Luca sat on one the table before waving a waiter to come over. "
a thabhairt dom deoch,go tapa?".
He had to sigh when he saw that she didn't understand him, after all he barely knew how to speak Irish, a language he should had been really good at but he has had trouble speaking it. "My bad, I meant to say bring me a drink, fast."

Lloyd nearly jumped when he felt Danny's hand on his back. He'd expected his friend to return to his duties, and as such, Lloyd had sat in the booth, eyes half closed and half asleep.
"Dammit Danny!" He yelped, as wide awake as he could be once again. Listening to Danny he nodded.
"Monte can piss off tonight I suppose. I don't have much inclination to stay for him. With Vinnie around he seems to have more important matters at hand." Lloyd gave a lopsided grin, standing, though he swayed slightly. While he felt alright, Lloyd wasn't sure if the swaying was the weariness or the booze. He clapped his friend on the back. "Thanks for the offer Danel. You know I'd never miss a meal."
As if to highlight his sentence, Lloyd grinned and patted his belly, though no stomach offered to protrude through his shirt. The man could eat, but his metabolism worked as hard as it could to work off any weight he gained, and as such, despite Lloyd's disinterest in regular working out, he was fairly muscular and fit. After Danny nodded he sat back down, watching his friend briefly speak to Vinnie. He supposed he should have been somewhat interested in the conversation, but he found himself dozing off again.

Kitty Avera

Kitty made her way briskly down the pavement towards the Fox's Den, her short heels clicking all the way. She bumped into a man, which almost sent her notepad and papers tumbling to the ground, but she clutched them tighter to her chest and continued on her way. She was supposed to have been at the bar nearly an hour earlier, but the rookie she had been mentoring had gotten lost on his way to cover the bakery fire. Directing him through the correct bike routes alone had taken almost thirty minutes; it would be a miracle if he actually managed to make it to the scene before that muckraker from The Slanderer published an article running everyone's names through the mud.

She normally preferred to relax after work at the Whistler Jazz Club, but a colleague had advised her that if she switched her spot to the Fox's Den, she might be able to "make some friends," and, although, he hadn't elaborated on what he meant, she could only assume it had something to do with the piece she was writing on the escalating tension between the Italian and Irish factions. Still, she hated to give up the serenity of her favorite club. She could already hear the music from the new bar a few doors down.

Just as she got in front of the window, a group of men running down the sidewalk knocked her to the ground. She managed to catch bits of their conversation as they passed, and if she heard correctly, they were saying something about a body in the Whistler.

Kitty huffed, "Maybe this has all been one giant sign I'm going in the wrong direction."

She gathered her things and pulled herself to her feet, but she hissed when she felt a sharp pain in her right leg. She pulled her skirt up a couple inches to reveal a nasty scrape and blood on her favorite stockings. She carefully made her way into the bar, hoping someone would have a first aid kid or at least a handkerchief to tie around it until she got home.

Kate Henderson
Scarlett-Johansson5.jpgKate had been on a relatively interesting date with an honest and decent man; a doctor named Winston Ford. They'd been in the jazz club watching the band play. Whilst the conversation had been flowing, he was far more serious and boring than she was used to. She thought he was the kind of man she needed, but apparently not. She blamed the Sullivans and Romanos for this - they'd introduced her to more interesting men. Regardless, she had been willing to give Winston a chance. She didn't have to tell him anything about her criminal record and he didn't need to know. But then there was a scream and it turned out Sinead had found a dead body. There had been a murder backstage. The was pretty much a mood killer and the final straw. Winston couldn't leave soon enough and she couldn't refuse to leave with him enough. She wouldn't be seeing Winston again.

Kate had a few choices of where to spend the rest of her night and she decided she was blaming Vinnie for the commotion at the jazz club. Therefore, she would head to Sullivan's pub instead. When she entered the pub, she stood next to Luca and ordered a glass of wine. She then looked to the Boss' right-hand man and smiled at him. They knew each other but didn't often converse together. "Good evening," she greeted him. "Is Conor not around? I was hoping to pass on some news to him. I just left the Whistler Jazz Club... someone's been murdered there and Sinead stumbled right into... it," she explained. "You'd think she'd be used to this crap by now," she remarked.

Sinead Sullivan

Sinead looked to Dylan and quickly shook her head. "No, I don't need anywhere to stay. I have my own place--" she began, but remembered her house key was in her handbag which was in the centre of the crime scene. She figured her things would have to stay there as evidence or something like that. "That's very kind of you, but I can find my own way home," she assured him. "I could do with the fresh air," she added. "You go back inside and enjoy the rest of the evening with the others. I'll be back here tomorrow, refreshed and ready to sing again," she firmly told him.

Sinead suggesting she walked home alone would probably seem like a bad idea, but Dylan wouldn't have chance to argue before a car parked up nearby and one of the Irishmen who she'd earlier dismissed got out of the passenger side to approach them. "I've just spoken on the phone with your old man," he told Sinead. "He said you have to get in the car, right now, so we can take you back to your family's house. I don't want to cause a scene, but I'm not to take no for an answer." He glanced to Dylan and gave a friendly nod.

"Fine!" Sinead gave in. She knew she was better off with her family tonight, especially as she wouldn't be able to get into her own place without her key. She looked to Dylan and smiled. "Thank you for staying out here with me. These guys can take me home. I'll see you later," she assured him. It would be clear the two men were safe for her to go with. She then got into the back of the car and sat with her eyes closed for the journey home. She was going to punch Conor if he'd in any way caused that man's death by messing with Vinnie.

Luca Piero D'Angelo
Luca turned to look back at the person who had spoken to him, before he gave her a brief smile. "Evening Kate." He had to raise an eyebrow when she talked about the dead body found in the Jazz club, first he heard about. "Really a dead body in the Club?" He questioned.

Luca would had said something else but when Kate talked about Sinead, he had a look worried on his face before it quickly vanished. "I mean she has always been the nice one of the whole family, she wouldn't be able yo kill an ant if told to." While he was sugar coating it on that phrase, it was true that he felt that Sinead was the nice one between the kids of his boss. "While Conor, I think he left to hang out with someone." He wasn't here when Conor left so he wasn't sure about it.

Maite

“Angel...he’s been getting...close...to Jona. Too close. She’s told him stop and, well, you know how Danny gets. I’d rather not have a fist fight between my brother and one of your main men.” She sipped from her glass and leaned up against the back of her chair. She watched him, looking for something, but not knowing what it was yet. “And I can take care of myself...I’ll see you tomorrow at church? Goodnight, Vinnie.” She gave him a soft kiss on the cheek and left the back room. She drank the last of her wine and stepped outside through the back door. She needed a breath of fresh air...maybe even a cigarette.

What was Vinnie going to do? Was Danny right? Maybe they should leave Chicago...then again there wasn’t anywhere they could go. Then again, depending on how bad it got...they could find Terese. She took a drag and looked down the dimly lit alley. It seemed to stretch on for eternity. Deep in the inky darkness she thought she saw a cat slink through, but it dived back into the murky black. Terese, her little sister, shouldn’t get involved, but she didn’t know how far the Sullivans would go. It was just another worry to add to her list.

Danny

“If you’re real tired, I can take you up right now. I think we only have an hour or so left of busy service, but I think you’d prefer a couch to a wooden bench.” He smiled and held out hand to help Lloyd up. He motioned for him to follow, and walked towards the back door. Maite was out smoking, clearly thinking. Danny decided it was best not to disturb the lady while she was deep in concentration. At the top of a set of stairs climbing the side of the building, Danny jiggled the handle and opened the door of their apartment. A small cat ran next to him and started rubbing against his leg. “Yeah, yeah move.” He smiled as Ander sat, fast asleep in the armchair of the sitting room. The bottom of the apartment was used as a sitting room with the kitchen/dining room on the other side. Creeping up the stairs, he made his way to the bedrooms, and slowly opened the door to Terese’s room. She was fast asleep, cuddled up with a little bunny plush clutched in her arms. Pacified at seeing her alright, he rushed back down with a spare blanket for Lloyd. “Sorry if Jona and Maite wake you up. They’ll be getting everything ready for church.”

Lloyd Castellano
Lloyd nodded when Danny asked him if he wanted to go up then. He still felt woozy and the Azarola's bar buzz was starting to give him a headache. Lloyd gratefully took his friend's hand up, and sluggishly followed his friend, eyes half lidded as he yawned walking up.
"Damn I got tired quick. Not sure if it's the week or the alcohol hitting me." He grumbled, hand on the railing. At the top of the stairs, Danny opened the door and Lloyd walked in glancing down at the cat, who had instantly greeted his friend. Lloyd gave a weak smile, tempted to go pet the damn thing but deciding against it.
"I don't mind if they wake me. You know me though, once I'm out it's like trying to rise me from the dead." Lloyd chuckled, taking the blanket from Danny and wrapping it around his broad shoulders. "Thanks again. Don't know what tomorrow holds but I'm not doing anything so if you'd like I can help you clean up the bar a lil'. Where do you want me?"
He tilted his head, taking in the sudden silence in the house as opposed to the chaos he had just moments before been immersed in. He was definitely comfortable here, having stayed with Danny many times, though the majority was spent passed out against a wall or in a drunken slumber on the floor.

Monte Romano
After the group's brief talk in the room,Monte watched his father exit the room, with a lazy smile on his face. His cigarette had been idly burning as they spoke, and now, as Vinnie left, Monte took a short puff, watching the embers light with an amused look in his eyes. Ask, and you shall recieve. He mused. He hadn't much paid attention to what was said, other than they'd be working a front against the Sullivans. Monte stood, grabbing his impeccably clean jacket from where it hung on the back of his chair, putting it on and buttoning it up as professionally as a man of his persona might. He cracked his neck, readjusting the weapons that had shifted in their holsters as he sat, and downing the remainder of his drink. Looking down, Monte frowned, flicking a speck of ash from his jet black jacket, and after a moment of inspection, he straightened, seemingly satisfied. He nodded at Fortuna, who smiled, heels clicking, a crisp, commanding sound as she walked away. Monte thought again to himself that she was a very beautiful woman, but despite that, even a dangerous man as himself knew he wanted nothing to do with a dangerous woman such as her. After pausing briefly to stare, moreso out of curiosity than interest, Monte turned to Angel.
"Home improvements, eh?" He chuckled, flicking his dying cigarette with an irritated look on his face. He cupped his hand around it, attempting to light it several times before rolling his eyes and smashing it between his fingers, sending a flutter of cold ashes to the ground.
"Damn it." Monte muttered under his breath. He had half a mind to light another one here and now, and though his hand was on another, he shoved it back deep inside his pocket, decidedly against it.

Kate Henderson

Kate took a sip of wine before smiling back at Luca. "Yeah, and I heard there was blood everywhere. It ruined my night, if I'm honest," she drily remarked. "Not as much as it spoiled Sinead's, though. The best thing that girl can do is leave this city. A sweet little thing like that doesn't belong here," she noted. It was true. To most of those who watched her sing, she would come across as a classy, decent and pure young woman. To those who knew better, there was nothing classy and pure about Sinead's family. Kate was happy to spend her time in the company of criminals, but all she saw in Sinead's eyes was a woman who was worth more than this city.

Kate hopped up onto a bar stool, facing Luca. "Sounds to me like you won't be seeing Conor for the rest of the night, then. I understand a night out with him can be long and messy, but I'm surprised to see you drinking here alone. Where's the rest of your morally upstanding gang?" she asked. Although she was grinning and clearly joking, she still expected an answer.

Vincenzo Romano

Vinnie couldn't help but smirk when Maite explained Angel was causing the problem. He couldn't believe he was being asked to get involved in the situation, but he would say something to Angel, regardless. "Tell Danny to lay off and leave Angel to me. I don't need him causing trouble with my men," he remarked. He knew his comments might not go down well, but he was being generous enough by this point. There were bigger situations for Vinnie to be in control of. "Of course, I will be at church bright and early." When Matie kissed him on the cheek, he smiled and gently squeezed her shoulder before watching her leave.

Vinnie remained seated until he'd finished his drink and eventually got up to make his way back into the main bar. He looked around to see who was still there, sending a knowing look to Angel and Monte. After getting the attention of his driver, the two men left the bar and headed to the nearby parked vehicle. Vinnie had intended to head over to the casino, but he'd done enough for one night so he decided to head home early, for a change.

Luca grinned at her before nodding at what she was saying. "While I can be worried about little Nead, I think it's better if I stay away from there, after all if we have me going there just to ask what the hell happened and who the killed the person? I don't think those who work there would like for me to cause a scene." He took a sip from his drink, rolling the water so that the ice could melt faster. "I love Sinead as if she was my own daughter but if she ever decides to leave us to pursue her career, I'm always gonna stand by her side, after all I'm one of her big fan." That was true right there, the main reason he barely went to any of her performance was mostly because his upstanding with the Romano's and their little groupie, who mostly spent their time there.

After taking another sip of his drink, he gave her a smile. "Sure I could be spending time with the Sullivan's and the boss, but if I had stayed there, I wouldn't be seeing the beauty that is Kate, isn't that right?" Okay sure he was flirting with her and sure he was 10 years older than her, but he just wanted to talk with the nurse, after all he barely knew her except for those very few conversation he have had with her. Angel stood up out of his seat, once again adjusting his coat. His eyes slid to Monte, he could see the eagerness in the boys eyes. Angels lips parted to a smile at the young lads enthusiasm. "Meet me outside, word is Sinead is performing tonight, so we should have plenty of time."

Angel moved through the bar, evidently less populated than before. His eyes were glued to the case of alcohol as he moved, although he knew there was no time for a drink. As he made his way outside, he made sure to grab his hat, which was resting on the coatrack.

Angel stood out of the bar. The entrance to the Den was covered in liter, broken glass scattered around the concrete. A slight drizzle had formed in the sky, a slight mist hovering over the asphalt. Angel crossed the road to his black 1946 Chevrolet Aerosedan. Posted up against the drivers door, he waited for Monte.

Alena had woken up from her nap and she stretched in her comfortable bed, under the endless amounts of fluffy blankets. Alena ran her hand through her hair and looked around before she looked up at the ceiling. This was strange, she listened, there wasn't any sound or noise in the house. She wonders if everyone had gone somewhere, so she got out of bed and tied a robe around her as she headed downstairs and checked out the living room, kitchen, the endless rooms, and the basement. No signs of anybody, not even most of the body guards. Alena knew that her father was out, whenever he goes out he takes half of his men along with him. Alena made her way back upstairs where she entered the bathroom that was in her room and she undressed and took a warm shower. Alena hated when they would leave without her or not even tell her if they were leaving. She shook her head and felt the water running down her body.

An hour later had passed and she went out and began drying her hair before she curled it. Alena made her way towards her closet where she pulled out a black dress that had a small cut opening near the thigh area. Her father hated it whenever she dressed like that, he said that she shouldn't dress with that much skin out. Alena never listened though, she slipped on the dress and her black heels and made her way downstairs. Her lips perfectly red, and her hair beautifully curled. Alena made her way out to the door where she got into the car and told the driver to take her to The Fox's Den. Alena liked eating there, they had good food and since she hadn't eaten anything, she might as well go.

It took the driver about twenty minutes to get there with the short-cut, she got out of the car when it came to a stop in front of the place and out of all the people she could have seen in front of the restaurant, it would be him. Angel. She admired Angel and she could tell that he admired her as well but on a whole different level. Alena looked down at her dress and tried to pick out any stains, and in other words she had knots in her stomach and a cold feet when it came to Angel. But she kept her cool and lifted her head high, "If it isn't Van-" She stopped herself. "Giovanni, what brings you here?" She asked him as she tried to pick herself back up. Alena stopped herself from calling him 'Vanni' which only she calls him whenever nobody is around. But she didn't want to embarrass him in front of anybody so she kept it professional.

Angel stood impatiently while he waited for Monte. This was the second time tonight he was forced to wait. Romanos loved to take their time and he knew this all too well. Sighing, he began to tap the bottom of his shoe against the road. Moving his left hand from his pocket, he inspected the time on his watch.

Angel aimlessly watched the cars and people pass, not really paying attention to his surroundings. He began to drift off into his growing thoughts as a car pulled up in front of the Fox's Den. Still half paying attention, he moved his eyes to the road below him. It was Alena's voice that snapped him back to reality. His head shot up, his mouth taking no time at all to form his trademarked smile. Boy, did she look gorgeous tonight. Despite Alena's attempt at appearing confident, he knew her well enough to see through that. "Just waiting on Monte. You know your brother, he probably found a mirror and got lost in his own eyes." He chuckled lightly, sitting up off the car.

Kitty sighed as she finished her whiskey. The Fox's Den hadn't given up any "friends" like her colleague had told her, but, then again, Kitty hardly knew how to spot an Italian in a room full of Italians. She thought she had seen Vincenzo Romano a little while earlier, but she had had no way to check to see if it had really been him. Despite not finding any leads for her story, she could tell the night was coming to a close. She twisted around on her bar stool and hopped down to the ground, making sure to land on her toes - the only conceivable way her night could get worse would be if she broke her heels.

She wove through the crowd to the exit, keeping a firm grip on her notes. There was a distinct possibility that bringing notes on gangs to a bar related to one of the gangs could turn out to be a risky move. She had no clue how a Romano family member would react if they saw her profiles. She ducked out through the door, and... of course Angel Masciarelli was outside. Part of her wanted to sneak away before he noticed her, but once she saw the other girl he was with, she couldn't resist saying something.

"Why, Angel Masciarelli, what a surprise to see you out on the town - and with a lady friend!" She extended her hand to Alena. "You should really get a chaperone, wouldn't want your reputation to be sullied, now would we?"

Alena gently bit the corner of her lip as one of her bad habits which at times can give the wrong impression. Alena looked around as she always does to make sure her surroundings are alright. Alena then made eye contact with him when he spoke, god he was handsome, a real work of art this guy. Alena knew it was wrong to flirt with an older man, but he was so much mature and different then the other boys that were close to her age. Alena had known Giovanni for quite sometime which meant that she did some investigations herself and found out all about his little running's with the police and how he started a prostitution ring. The horror, Alena didn't understanding how woman younger and older then her could sell themselves short for the pleasing of other men. It disgusted her and it made her mad at Giovanni, but what's in the past is in the past. Can't afford to bring it back up.

Alena gave a warm smile to him,"It seems so, but as we know Monte cannot help but make himself look too presentable." She told him as she pushed her hair behind her ear. "You-" before she could finish, a girl walked out. Kitty they called her. Alena had heard her father talking about her and she wondered what she was doing here. But when she threw that ball at Alena when she spoke, Alena was shocked. Now the past has been brought back up, which she hated. To be civil, Alena shook Kitty's hand before letting go. "How old do you think I look? I do not think that you should be interfering with who I associate myself with," Alena shot out to her but calmly. Alena's tongue was sharp and ready to fire, but when Kitty said that he was with a lady friend, Alena had blushed just slightly.

Angel's smile turned to a devilish smirk at the sight of Kitty. He rested his hand on the curvature of Alena's back. Not so much in a flirtatious way, but to reassure her. The last thing he wanted right now was a big scene. His prior intentions were to leave as soon as possible to get to work on Sinead's apartment. Angel cursed Monte in his mind for taking his sweet time, but relinquished the thought of beating him senseless the moment he exited the doors. "She's a reporter, Lena. Sticking her nose in other peoples business puts food on her table." Angel turned his attention to Kitty, he didn't want to provoke her, but his demeanor said otherwise. "This is Alena Romano, but i'm sure you know that already." He gave her a nod. "Here for the 'hottest scoop', Miss Avera?"

Kitty Avera

Kitty's eyes lit up, relishing the moment the girl stepped up to bat.

"I wouldn't dream of interfering in your life, miss, but I sincerely hope you're aware of with whom you're choosing to associate. You can't be out of high school yet, can you?" She wanted to say something more biting, but she held herself back when she noticed the blush on the girl's cheek. Antagonizing Angel might have made her night, but she had nothing against this girl, and she firmly believed that everyone had the right to make their own decisions, no matter what those decisions may be. It was only when those decisions affected others that they mattered. However, when Angel became cocky, she couldn't keep everything in.

"Now, Mr. Masciarelli, you know how I publish; not everything I know goes toward my table. Sometimes a bar is just a bar, a drink is just a drink, and a meeting is just a meeting. Can't I enjoy my nights off - and can't you be bothered to introduce two ladies who have never met?" She shot him a tight-lipped smile. Even if she wanted to form some connection to the underground, she had no desire for that connection to be Masciarelli.
