"Hmmm, I think you've earned one of my secrets," Sinead told Peter, adding a wink.
Sinead noticed Peter looked a little awkward when she made her request. He didn't refuse and seemed willing to go along with it, so she didn't take it back. "Of course my little princess won't mind. Besides, she'd probably like to be held by someone else after being stuck with me all day!"
Sinead very carefully passed Savannah to Peter, making sure he was comfortable with it before stepping back. As she looked to him holding her daughter, she couldn't help but smile. Suddenly, she didn't feel quite so much like it was just her and Savannah against the world. She didn't feel so alone right now.
"Let's get these drinks," she suddenly said, motioning for him to join her in the kitchen. As she made the drinks, she kept looking to Peter to check he was doing okay and didn't want to pass Savannah back. All the while, the baby was contently gurgling and happily gazing up at the newest person to hold her for the first time. When the drinks were made, she carried them into the lounge and placed them on the coffee table. After turning on some music she took a seat next to Peter on the couch. "Thank you," she told him. She then looked to him in a way that suggested he could hand Savannah back to her now, if he wished to. "I think it's settled that she likes you. You passed Savvy's test!"
