The Origin of The End.
When the shadows ignite, a call to the light.
When the light fades, the abyss to be made.
For time comes, yet at no waking pass.
If eternity finite, then forever will last.
The delve of the unknown, the unbound to rend.

What bellows enshroud, there is to ascend.

The time has come. The year. Another escape from a parallel reality. The summer was over and it was time to begin the academia tenure at Invectus Institute. For Freshmen, they would surely take in the splendor and awe of the amazing private plane before them, bags all packed and excited smiles on their faces as they leave their families and conventional life behind for a new glory and brave new universe. It was a luxury and a destiny fit for only the brightest of people. North America was the last stop, the order was the same every year. Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and then North America. Six different planes, all at its continent's respective sole pickup spot. Invectus paid for all fees for students to get to the specific airport. And then they would be en route to Campus, the world's most prestigious school that no one knows about. Heck, Camille had to admit... she still rather enjoyed the vibes of leaving the United States for the enthralling world that the planet didn't know existed. She boarded the plane with the North American students, looking around at the swarm of students on the rather sizable plane. Three floors, with each capable of holding about 500 people. Massive. Cam wanted to take in some of the students so she could potentially see who to make friends with... but she was more on about the fact that all the good chairs and sofas were taken by the time she got on board. Some nod at her, but no one keen enough to spark conversation. Unknown to her fellow Freshman, Camille had already visited Invectus over the summer, as she was summoned for "excluded" purposes. The plane trip was more of a courtesy now, as she had been through her Weaving and made a trip to Campus once before already. She'd already met the Dean, the faculty. Almost everyone. The pumping of her heart and thrill of the first time arriving is something that will be engraved in her memory and soul forever, as she was sure the upperclassmen feel the same about their first time. But, a part of her was also a bit envious. She would much rather have admitted with the rest of the Freshman and experienced the wonder as a mass with them together. Yet, such was the woe of not only being selected by summons, but being an Apex. Camille wasn't at Campus long while she was summoned early, but she managed to make a few acquaintances, one of them being a Senior. From what the senior had told her, being marked as an Apex was split into two notions: People either thought you were a rockstar, or people thought you were a boogeyman. For some reason, the latter stuck with Cam. She hoped that wasn't the case.

ed29bae9dba737a14bc35d2b7c564dd4.jpg

The plane takes off as Cam slides in her earphones and began to play music with her phone, letting the cool air and smell take her mind away from a summer full of fun. She lived the whole regular teen phase, going to a few parties, and swimming, the family trip with her mom who she adored, but being exposed to the lifestyle of Double I made everything else conventional seem so... mundane. She saw the look on her fellow Freshmen's faces, their eyes full of spark and awe in waiting to activate their Vis and become who they were destined to be. Cam almost felt more like an outsider than she already was. Why couldn't she just have been normal and came with all the other Freshman? She didn't know if she should mention her having her Vis already or not, all of the upperclassmen did too. All from completing The Weaving Freshman year, as various students show off and play with their Vis' on the plane, only to have flight attendants deliver hard smacks to the back of some heads for recklessly endangering the plane and concentration. Camille sifts through the crowd, as she lands her eyes on the one person she recognized. Farah was her name right? The senior she referred to that managed to give her some advice in the short time they met. Farah was also there for a bit over the summer, for the same "purposes". Seeing as how she was going to be a Senior, Cam knew she knew all the hotspots and layout of Campus.

"Hey Farah... you mind?" Camille unloads her things in the overhead bin and plops next to Farah Hawick, assuming it was okay to do so. Hopefully this really was a place of a fresh and new start, one that didn't abide by socialism of cliques and judgements. Where Seniors could intermingle with Freshman, where Mentifer and Pathifer could rejoice without some innate house rivalry. Though, Camille was a Vocifer. She remembered that Farah was a Pathifer, the Flame Sigil House. The ones who carried the Evoplasm in their very essence. Cam's Evoplasm was in her blood, she wasn't sure how it differed yet. She gained a little knowledge over the summer, so she knows more than her fellow Freshman, but she still has so very much to learn, and even about herself as well. Cam peered to see some upperclassmen whispering to each other while looking over at Camille, and already the feelings of being an outcast from her past were setting in. Her head had a slight twinge of burden as she sighed and shook it off. But, she didn't care. She was here, and ready. The Weaving showed her things that mere words could not consequence. Trying to void the attention on her, Cam leans in to Farah, whispering. "So... The Dean never told me... do I keep quiet about having my Vis already? What I do when we touch down? And... please please tell me... are we? Is the...? Is The Dive happening?" Camille asked with a wild adrenal gleam in her eyes, alluding to the hint of crazy that was in her blood. Where most would shun and condemn something like The Dive, Camille was a girl all for adventure and thrill. Though, it scared the absolute nerve out of her. She looks out of the window to see that they were flying over pure ocean, the captain and pilot speaking that they were almost at the epicenter of the world, where the equator and prime meridian meet. The location of Campus. She knew what was about to happen next... this was it, again! Should she warn the Freshman? The upperclassman all looked at them with teasing smirks for what was to come. Cruel. How Cam wished some upperclassmen would've told her to relax and that it will all be okay, as opposed to trolling and freaking out acting as if everyone on the plane was going to die. But upon Cam's early summon the past summer, she was literally the only Freshman on that plane, let alone the fact there were maybe a couple dozen students TOTAL on the early express. In a form of non-harmful hazing... they simply led her to believe she was about to die. Sounds morbid, but it was a damn good play. One she couldn't wait to cash in on when she was an upperclassmen. The damn Dive. Cam sighed and looked around at all her fellow Freshman who were about to probably piss themselves. She started to jitter. Nervously. With understandable reason.

Pilot: This is your pilot speaking, we are currently approaching epicenter where equator and prime meridian meet, the location of Campus. Please maintain your items and prepare for a new year at Invectus Institute!!! Prepare for land--

"Oh shit."

The plane abruptly drops, the students lunging their items and effects from their body to grab onto their chairs. Seatbelts and restraints of body lock into place as the gripped students go into a freak out. The steep drop suddenly rushes the Potents' stomachs into their chests, that roller coaster feeling as screams of Freshman and ever some older students begin to spread all through the plane. The ocean below becomes much much closer as the velocity of the plane becomes terminal. Cam grips the seat with all force of life in her body as she tenses up and squints for the heightened anxiety in her senses. She breathes deeply and hears the engine of the plane reach max sound as the ocean was getting larger, the impact very close. Freshmen scream and cry as some students troll while others comfort. The damn Dive. Camille grits her teeth at the coming moment of sheer terror, grunting through the noise in a solemn force. Cam bursts into a scream as the plane nears the crash of water, unknowing students meeting fate and the appearance of the grim reaper, as they probably wonder why it all had to end like this.

And then the water suddenly splits open, a whirlpool vortex forming around the plane in a tunnel like manner. And on the other end... another sky can be seen with a location. A beautiful and prominent location. Campus. They had arrived at Invectus Institute. The roars and cheers from the upperclassman ring forth as applause and cheers bounce through the aircraft. Cam takes a huge breath of relief and thrill as she peers out the window to her future home and lifestyle.
Pilot: Ha haaa... gets'em everytime... welcome to Invectus.

ii-jpg.421300

The plane flies into the waterfall below Campus, as it opens up to a docking station airstrip of sorts, the plane lowering its tires and landing with grace and skill. The huffs and puffs from hyperventilated Freshmen and Potents filled the place, with Cam in particular soothing herself by a faint laugh at the adrenaline of it all. She could only await to see the other potents from other planes demeanor once getting off their planes. What new friends would she make? How would she adapt to her new gifts? Would she be liked? The new year was here, and it was time to engage in a new beginning adventure of academic and extranatural exploration.

No one knowing this year would become different. The difference.

This whole experience was a little much to take in. She felt out of place among the crowds of other students, mostly because a good number of them looked to be from families who were better off than her own. And they all seemed so comfortable with thought of flying...Jacquline had only done so once in her entire life, and it was to get to this airport to go on another, much bigger plane. She almost felt nauseous, tugging slightly at her sweater sleeve. It had been a little chilly back in Washington, but she was starting to wonder if she would really be needing it as it was a little bit warmer there, and probably on the plane too, but, it was too late to change now. Anyway, she boarded the plane when everyone else did, finding herself on the second story near the middle, not that she was really paying attention to where she had been going. In all honesty, she was just following the directions she had gotten from on of the older students. "Go to the second floor," he said, "You'll fond a better seat sooner." He had been laughing a little when he told her that, but Jacquline ignored it for the most part. She found it a little creepy though. Reguardless, she put her two carryon bags in the over head compartment, one a bookbag ad the other a case for her Xbox. No way was she gonna leave that at home.

Once she had taken a seat and gotten settled, she pulled her phone out from the pocket on the left side of her brugandy sweater dress. She was gonna listen to some music, maybe play a game during the ride, figuring it was gonna be fairly long, when a voice caught her attention. She looked up to see a boy, another freshman by the looks of it. He was smiling awkwardly, giving her a little wave when he noticed he had grabbed her attention. "Mind if I sit here?" He asked, "You look the least intemidating." Jacquline had to chuckle, nodding a little.

"Go for it, but be careful with the bags up there. Important stuff," She said, shifting a little so he would be stepping on her feet as he stored his one of his bags. He smiled, a little less awkwardly this time, sitting down after a few moments with his laptop.

"I'm Todd Overcash by the way. This is pretty cool huh? I've never seen a plane this big, and honestly, I don't know how it can fly." He laughed a little to himself, earning a slight chuckle from Jacquline. "Oh hey, I like your phone case! You play?"

She looked at him like he was nuts. "What? Play? No, of course not. I only bought this overpriced D.va case because she's pretty." She paused, hoping her words were sarcastic enough. Though he looked as if he believed her, making her raise her hand to stop him from talking. "Yes of course I play. I'm Jacquline Montgomery, it's nice to meet you." A silence would grow between them after introducing themselves, Jacquline settling in once again to read a book and listen to some music. Todd was minding his own business, occasionally asking her something, most of them about either her apperance, or what kind of stuff she was into. Jacquline was sure what he was trying to do, but she answered his questions regaurdless, even if she didn't really know the answer. Like the questions about the school. Her and her mom couldn't really find anything out about it, and it wasn't one she applied for, and as far as she knew, she wasn't qualified for any scholarship that would get her into a top teir school. Their conversation was put on hold when the captain's voice came through the intercom.

Normal stuff, look out your window, oh the plan is falling. Wait. "OHSHITWHATTHEHELL???!!" Her and Todd looked to each other very breifly, before their voices joined the other students screaming. On one hand, it was kinda fun, she lived rollarcoasters. On the other, she could see the water getting closer and closer. They were all gonna die. That was it. Great, and the worst was to go as well, drowning in saltwater. Jacquline was terrified, and as they reached what she assumed would the place of impact, she shut her eyes tightly. But the impact and what should have been a rush of water didn't come. Instead, people were laughing at the freshman students, and even the pilot seemed to be laughing at them. She looked to Todd, who was trying not to vomit by the looks of it. Jacquline was trying to stop hyperventilating.

But, as breathless as she was, once she laid eyes on the school, she was just, awestruck. She was ignoring the loud cheers of the upperclassmen, her eyes fixated on the building which appeared to be an architectural marvel. She didn't really know what to make of it, and she didn't get to look at it ling enough before the plane was swallowed by the area underneath it. Behind a waterfall. Todd got up and grabbed his stuff, and left as soon as they were allowed odd the plane. Jacquline on the other hand remained seated for a moment, waiting for herseld yo stop shaking. She wondered if any of the other freshmen had reacted the way she had. She also wondered if this was their way of hazing? By the way everyone had reacted, the older ones at least, she came to the conclusion it wasn't. Anyway, she finally got up after a few moments, grabbing her bags from above her head, and getting off the plane to join the large crowd of students outside, ready for whatever adventure awaited her.

JUNE DO
status: could use an explanation

location: if only he knew
interactions:

THERE WERE LITTLE THINGS THAT JUNE HATED AS MUCH AS FLYING. BEING KEPT AT ONE PLACE FOR HOURS, SURROUNDED BY ANNOYING PEOPLE, SHITTY FOOD ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT? JUNE WASN'T THE KIND OF PERSON TO FLY THAT MUCH. HE HAD DONE IT MAYBE SIX TIMES? MOST OF THOSE TIMES WHEN HE WAS A LITTLE KID TOO. HE WOULD ALWAYS FLY TO SEE SOME DISTANT RELATIVES WHO WOULD ALWAYS TELL HIM HOW MUCH HE HAD GROWN. JUNE DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THESE PEOPLE, HE WOULD EITHER SMILE AWKWARDLY OR DECK THEM IN THE FACE. AFTER THE INCIDENT WHERE JUNE HAD PUNCHED SOME MOM'S COUSIN'S HUSBAND'S LITTLE BROTHER OR SOMETHING WHEN HE TRIED TO KISS HIM ON THE CHEEK, JUNE WAS NOT INVITED ANYMORE. GOOD, HE DID NOT EVEN WANT TO BE IN THERE.

HE SAT NEXT TO A WINDOW AND SOON ENOUGH, HE WAS SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE HE DID NOT KNOW NOR CARED TO GET TO KNOW TO. JUNE DID MAKE A PROMISE TO HIS MOTHER (NOT THAT IT HAD MUCH VALUE) THAT HE WOULD TRY AND MAKE FRIENDS. HE PREFERRED TO CALL THEM ALLIES. OTHER THAN THAT, HE WAS NOT THE MOST INTERESTED IN PLAYING AROUND WITH OTHERS. SOME CALLED HIM INTROVERTED, HE CALLED HIMSELF INDEPENDENT. IT HAD BEEN A DAMN PAIN IN THE BACK TO TRY AND CONVINCE HIS PARENTS THAT HE SHOULD LEAVE. AT FIRST, THEY OPPOSED THE IDEA, BUT UPON REALIZING THAT JUNE WAS BEYOND THEIR REACH AND THIS 'BOARDING SCHOOL' TYPE OF EDUCATION COULD DO GOOD FOR HIM, THEY AGREED. NICE, FREE TICKET OUT OF DETROIT.

HE WAS FEELING A BIT SLEEPY AND LEANED AGAINST THE WINDOW. HE CLOSED HIS EYES AND WAS ABOUT TO DOZE OFF BEFORE THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM STARTED TALKING AND BEING NOISY. HIS EARPHONES WEREN'T HERE, HE HAD MADE THE MISTAKE OF PUTTING THEM INSIDE HIS SUITCASE. FUCKING IDIOT, HE WAS. FLUTTERING HIS EYES BACK OPEN, HE CONTEMPLATED IF HE SHOULD JUST MURDER THESE PEOPLE HERE AND NOW AND DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES LATER. HE DROPPED THAT IDEA AND DECIDED TO READ A BOOK INSTEAD. HE DEFINITELY WASN'T THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED BUT THAT DID NOT MEAN HE DIDN'T READ. ANYONE WHO COMPLAINED TO HIM THAT READING WAS BORING WAS AN IDIOT TOO. YOU JUST HAD TO FIND THE RIGHT BOOK.

HE OPENED A COPY OF 'ELEMENTS OF MATHEMATICS FROM EUCLID TO GÖDEL'. JUNE WASN'T THE BIGGEST NERD BUT HE DID ENJOY SOME SCIENCE ONCE IN A WHILE. IT WAS THE ONLY THING THAT MADE SENSE IN HIS HEAD. HE WAS ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE BOOK BEFORE HE STARTED BECOMING REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. BEING 6'2, FLYING WAS NEVER REALLY COMFORTABLE PHYSICALLY EITHER. WIGGLING IN HIS SEAT, HE SOON GOT HIS RELIEF. JUNE HAD MADE THE MISTAKE TO NOT LISTEN TO WHAT THE PILOT WAS SAYING, HE DIDN'T CARE. OH BOY, HE SHOULd HAVE. WITHOUT ANY WARNING (THAT HE HAD LISTENED TO, THAT IS), HE FELT A PINCH IN HIS STOMACH THAT WAS STARTING TO GET WORSE. IT TOOK THE BOY A WHILE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS ENTIRELY GOING ON. JUNE LOOKED UP TO SEE HIS BOOK TOUCHING THE ROOF OF THIS PLANE. THAT WAS WHEN HIS BRAIN REGISTERED WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY WERE FALLING.

HE WAS IN SHOCK AND DIDN'T REACT IN ANY WAY. LOOKING OVER THE PEOPLE THAT HAD JOINED HIM TODAY TO ENJOY THIS DELIGHTFUL FLIGHT, MOST OF THEM WERE JUST BUSY TRYING TO HOLD ON THEIR SEATS. ALL OF THEM WERE WEARING RATHER BORED EXPRESSIONS. HE COULD SWEAR ONE OF THEM ROLLED THEIR EYES AND SAID SOMETHING AKIN TO 'WHEN IS THIS GOING TO END?'
WELL, NOT THAT HE HEARD ANYTHING THROUGH THE SCREAMS. HE COULD JUST SEE THE YOUNG MAN MOUTH THOSE WORDS.

HE BLINKED SLOWLY IN CONFUSION AND MADE THE MISTAKE TO LOOK OUTSIDE THE WINDOW JUST BEFORE THE HIT.

EXCEPT THAT THERE WAS NO HIT THAT WOULD CRUSH AND KILL THEM ALL. JUNE WAS TOO MUCH IN SHOCK TO SERIOUSLY PROCESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED. SUDDENLY, EVERYTHING WAS FINE AGAIN AND THE PILOT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT GETTING THEM EVERY TIME. THIS TIME JUNE LISTENED VERY CAREFULLY TO HIS WORDS. JESUS, THIS WAS GOING TO BE A LONG YEAR.

You have to understand that Joshua hadn't set foot on something rich ever since he was disowned by his mother and the only things that has any semblance of his previous life was some consoles that the orphanage could afford. And honestly, he didn't mind it at all. He didn't miss the life where he could get anything and everything. He was much more happier with the kids at the orphanage.

In any case, it meant that Joshua hadn't stepped in an airport in ages. And even then, it was only to accompany his mother when his father was coming back home from a business meeting. So really, there wasn't much for him to remember as he was guided to the boarding area along with a great many other students. He had managed to get into a conversation with an older student who just told him to look forward to the ride there - it was just as exciting as the time they will spend in Invictus. Whatever that meant. Joshua just smiled at student before being ushered up to a seat.

He plopped down on the window seat. Whenever he was at the car, he usually took the place beside the window. He liked watching the scenery pass by, and this would be his first time to be above the clouds so he was looking forward to it. He only brought a backpack filled with his clothing and some photos as his baggage, so really, he only had to store it by his feet. Though this also meant that he had nothing to pass the time with aside from looking outside the window and opening up conversations with the person beside him - who was more than happy to talk despite having been listening to music.

"Do you think-" He was cut off when the pilot began speaking - announcing that they were close and were arriving at school. Joshua decided to look out of the window along with his companion and then they noticed that it began to descend with the pilot cutting himself off. He blinked. Okay. This has to be a joke right? Okay. Okay. Okay. Unlike the person beside him, however, he didn't scream. Rather, he could not scream. He immediately went into shock as his brain went into overdrive.

Because there was no way in hell the airplane can pull up when it was going so fast and it was so big. Because they were just going to die - all of them. This was how his life would end, by a stupid malfunction from one of the richest schools in the face of the planet. There were so many other things he could do, but he guessed that... there was no other way. They were dead. The ocean came closer and closer and the moment of impact...

Never came.

Joshua found himself breathing again as he watched them slip into a vortex of water and it seemed like they entered the opposite world. He would have been convinced he was dead but he heard the other upperclassmen laughing and the pilot announcing something like he was amused. Despite him breathing, he could still feel his heart beating against his ribcage and he couldn't find his voice or the will to laugh in awe. Don't mistake him, he thought everything was beautiful and the school was just - wow. But damn he thought he was going to die just a second earlier and he still wasn't over that.

The other people had stood up and left with his companion patting him on the shoulder and giving him a thumbs up before leaving himself. Joshua took another more moment before he stood up and then walked forward nearly robotically with his backpack on his bag now. In his daze, he bumped into another student who had white - silver (?) - hair. "Oh, uh, sorry!" He said with a panicked town as his mind finally caught up with the fact that he was not dead and that he was at school now. "That was pretty intense huh? I think I'm still in shock." He said with a light chuckle as he jabbed his thumb towards the plane.

Diego Garcia

Interacting with: Camilla Hampton | OOC: i assumed the planes weren't organized by grade-- if im wrong lemme know

Another year.

Unlike some of the other people on the plane, Diego was not a Freshman. He was already aware of Invectus' presence on the earth unlike the majority of the Earth's population. The first time around, he was unnecessarily cautious of the place and kept thinking he was in some kind of simulation but soon he had to accept the truth; he was special. It was crazy to think thank now that he knew he was capable of extraordinary things he was limited by the school's rules. Even so, he was determined to be as strong as he could. He wasn't sure where the passion was coming from, but it was like he couldn't sleep without thinking about magic... thinking about all the possibilities.

Invectus was no normal school, he knew that yet he treated it like one. Diego had made sure not to get too close to anyone in the school while at the same time making sure his name was known in the school. That way if he needed something he could ask the people who knew him. To Diego, there was no need to make friends with these people. He was going to use the school's resources to learn more about himself and leave after completing all of his classes.

Diego took a seat in the back of the plane and leaned back, opening a book that he had brought with him on the plane. He didn't expect to fully read through it but it would be a good time-passer as he was not eager to talk to anyone at the moment. Just as he found the page he had finished reading on last a kid with dark brown hair and placed himself right beside Darius which made him slam his book shut and glare at him. From the looks of it, he was younger than him and seemed quite fidgety so he was most likely a Freshman. The nasty look didn't seem to scare the kid off so he raised out his hand to introduce himself and smiled.

"My name is Al-"

"No. I don't care. Get away from me, I don't want to hear your screams when we get to The Dive" Diego said, leaning closer towards him. There was nothing wrong with him and in truth, he probably could have told him a little bit about the school but he felt something wash over him. The stranger stood up hesitantly with a confused look, probably about the word 'dive' and placed himself close to the front of the private airship. Diego clenched his jaw with guilt as his eyes were fixated on the guy that walked away from him but shook it off with a sigh. He was no longer in the mood to read so he put the book in his lap and closed his eyes to sleep.

- - - - -

Diego's eyes opened widely as he began to hear the loud murmur of his fellow students and the plane start to lose altitude. Honestly, the experience was like nothing else and when he was on the plane for the first time around, he thought he was on drugs. Diego gripped his book tightly and smirked as the person who had introduced himself- or tried to introduce himself previously was screaming in fear. Diego had always found Invectus' had a puzzling way of screening possible students. Diego nodded with approval as he heard the voice of his pilot and his seatbelt auto-lock like it did every year. As the plane fell towards the body of water, a large inescapable smile was placed on Diego's face. While others were holding on to their seats for dear life or praying to whatever god they believed in, Diego began laughing for no reason which got him a few concerned looks.

If they can't handle this then they don't deserve to be here.

Despite the many conflicting interests he had with the school, Diego loved it. It was like nothing else in this world and the best part was that it wsa his. No one could take these powers away from him. Diego usually spent the majority of his summer training his most basic skills without supervision. It was mostly fundamental stuff but it was all necessary. He had also increased his workout load. Unlike a lot of other students, his power had very few applications that he knew of. If he could get physically stronger he would be able to his his abilities for longer periods of time with greater might. He was actually proud of how much he 'beefed up' during the summer and it was only going to continue during the school year.

Diego was the last one to get off the plane as most students wanted to get to the school as quick as possible or they just wanted to get off the plane. As the planes landed, more and more people filled the lot but Diego was sure to move up as to not get caught in the back of the crowds. Usually, Deigo made it to the school by himself but he stopped at the sight of a girl with blonde hair. The girl. She certainly had a lot of buzz around her name but Diego was too caught up with his studies last semester to pay any attention to her. Maybe placing himself in a position fo friendship would prove beneficial to him one day? Diego sneered at himself as he realized how out-of-character that sounded. It was like he was some evil-doer in the making. Diego gripped his duffel bags and walked close to the girl, stopping right beside her.

"You're Clarissa right? I think I've seen you here before" Diego said with a look of innocence on his face. He knew her name was not Clarissa but it was better for her to think that he didn't know her. He didn't want it to seem like he was stalking her.

She wasn't paying attention to the crowd anymore, just looking around lazily as she waited for something to happen, when someone bumped into her. She turned to see a brown haired boy, who apologized and explained why he had bumped into her. She didn't really mind though, it was crowded, and bound to happen sooner or later. "Oh no problem, I think everyone here may be recovering a bit," she said with a slight chuckle. Though with another glance around, she felt like that statement wasn't exactly right. "The freshman at least," she added with a murmur. Why the school felt the need to do that with no warning was beyond her, but Jacquline guessed it was just to scare everyone not use to it. She brushed some stray hairs out of her face, before looking back to the boy.

"I'm Jacqueline Montgomery, its nice to meet you," She said giving him a smile, "I'll guess you're a freshman too since we seem to be the only group shaken up about what just happened." A stellar observation he probably could have made on his own, but she was just trying to fill the void a little. The group of students was a little noisy at the moment, either introducing themselves, chatting about their summer or the place, or happily reuniting with friends they haven't seen since the previous year.

Again, she felt a little out of place, since big crowds always made her a little nervous, but she would get use to it soon. "So," she started, her attention once again on the boy, "Do you know anything about this place? It's pretty high-tech obviously, and I don't know what the hell that was with the plane, and I couldn't find anything out online." Which means he probably didn't either, but it didn't hurt to ask. "It's a little suspicious, don't ya think?"

Amelia

What can one say when they get up and take a step out into the world? Would one say they are afraid? Would one be ecstatic? Could they be jubilant... or complacent. Would they continue or take a moment to admire the unbelievable beauty of such an alien concept. All have their own ways to cope with the unknown. Amelia's was sketching on a tablet. Having boarded early onto the European plane Amelia found a very cozy and well kept corner. Settling in and taking the time to begin sketching she relished in the feeling of personal freedom. While never being confined at home she hadn't had the ability to explore the world growing up like her father and mother had. Their experiences lent to teaching Amelia but to experience it first hand was a lesson she couldn't miss. Hearing footsteps approaching Amelia looked up from her tablet to see a boy standing nearby. He didn't say anything to her yet looked over at her every once in awhile.

Eyes occasionally drifting up to him he seemed to finally notice that Amelia noticed him. Going back to sketching Amelia began to write out equations surrounding the blueprint itself. As if unknowingly waiting for the worst time to approach her the boy began to move. Looking up Amelia watched, her eyes no longer looking at her tablet. Approaching her the guy smiled and waved. Giving a "Hallo" Amelia stared for a moment before giving a small meekish wave. While not against socializing she wasn't the best company while traveling. She herself being a person who is either reading, writing or sleeping on a car ride to almost anywhere.

"Are you a freshman?"

Nodding Amelia went back to her tablet. She felt terrible ignoring him but she didn't want to socialize. However, his persistence paid off. Deciding not to ignore him Amelia lowered her tablet. Judging from the accent of the guys voice she knew he was from the homeland. Lightening up a little she actually fully acknowledged him. "Hast du einen Bleistift?" He asked. Amelia shook her head and held up her pen. "Ah.. Ich Hasse Pens" He responded before taking a seat near her. Feeling the plane shake for a moment he tilted his head before he realized what was happening. "Schnapp dir deinen Stuhl!" He called out before Amelia felt the plane shift. Before she could do anything it began its dive. Tablet flying out of her hands Amelia's eyes went wide. However, her new friend snagged it out of the air almost immediately.

As the plane leveled out once more Amelia grumbled. As fun as it was she hadn't had the time to secure her things like she should have. Looking over at him Amelia watched him hand it back. Taking it Amelia blushed "Danke." she finally spoke. After a moment another guy approached the two. "Austin, were all getting ready come on." The guy said to Amelia's now named tablet savior. Getting up he looked over at Amelia "Oh and nice blueprint by the way. Ill see you at some point." He said on his way out before turning around "Whats your name by the way?" He asked her. "Amelia" She responded.

There was always something so special about the trip to Invectus, and no, it wasn't The Drop, although that certainly added to the experience. Rather, it was the students themselves. After all, it isn't exactly normal for several hundred people of all shapes, sizes, hearts, and minds from around the world to show up at the same place at the same time with the same goal. Some were brand new; the poor buggers didn't have the slightest clue what they were getting themselves into when they took the final leap and clambered aboard that gleaming plane. Others were at least somewhat more experienced, having seen the whole show a few times before. Then there were the veterans of this particular game, the ones who had been through it all more times than they could remember. You could always tell the seniors apart from the rest of the upperclassmen by the way they talked. They'd lived through that terrifying, gut-wrenching drop enough times to relax on the way there. The Sophomores and, to a lesser extent, the Juniors always had this crackle of nervous energy hidden just under the surface. They were more or less certain they would survive The Drop, but it was still a little unsettling. Of course, every group had its own handful of outliers. The Freshmen who had heard about what was coming and acted like they were more excited than they were afraid, the Seniors who never quite got over the feeling of rushing towards the ocean at some 300 kilometres an hour. The ride to Double I really was an adventure in itself, and it was one that Farah wouldn't miss for the world.

She'd never been much of a fan of flying. It wasn't the height or the threat of plummeting to her death, she'd made peace with those particular fears long ago, but she never could get over the discomfort of being stuffed into a giant tin can like a handful of Sardines. For someone who tended to gravitate a little closer to others than most people, she really, really didn't like being forced to sit next to anyone. That combined with her more general hatred of sitting around for anything more than a few minutes at a time made for a pretty understandable dislike of the whole process. But her opinions about flying went out the window the moment she first stepped aboard the Invectus' triple-decker. The plane was incredible. It had seats spread so sensibly far apart that a normal Human could actually almost enjoy the luxury of personal space. It had a free-movement policy that seemed catered directly for its more antsy passengers. It had everything that should have been made standard in every plane a decade or two ago. Eight. That's how many times Farah had found herself slung across one of the plane's ridiculously comfortable seats. At least, she was pretty sure it had been eight. Frankly, it could have been twenty for all she knew. The trips had started to blur together after about five. Then again, the earlybird flights didn't really count, did they? The Drop was never quite as fun when there were only a few people screaming. In any case, this one was special. This was the trip. The last one. Barring anything unusual, anyway. That meant it was her job to make this one an interesting one.

Well, it was one of her jobs. The other one had just claimed the spot beside her. She hadn't gotten much of a chance to really get to know Camille earlier, but the two had hit it off pretty much immediately, and that seemed to be good enough for both of them. Farah greeted the freshman with a lazy smile and a warm "Sure thing!". Some of the nearby Seniors seemed a little less enthusiastic about the idea of sharing 'their' space with a newcomer, but Farah was quick to throw a few biting glances their way before any of them actually started to mutter. She'd never liked the pointless divides between the different grades. What difference does a year or two make, really? Besides, while the others didn't know it, Cam was likely more powerful than any of them. Or she would be, anyway. Soon enough. Farah turned back to face her nervous companion, meeting her eyes with an excited grin. "You really think I'd have bothered going all the way home just to bounce back here a few weeks later if we weren't doing The bloody Drop?" She gestured in a vague circle, letting her grin drop only a fraction before continuing, "And c'mon, you know how I'll answer that! This lot loves seeing new talent!"

Any further discussion was cut off by the pilot's usual warning, and Farah couldn't help but shift a little in her seat as they moved ever closer to The Drop. She'd always wanted to see what it was like to float around the cabin as they fell, and now would be her chance. The problem was always the automatic restraints that clasped everyone down as the plane nosed down, but, with a little help from one of the more tech-savvy students, she'd finally found a way around that annoyance. How, exactly, it worked, she had no idea. Something about delayed sensor timing or... Well, something. As the screams and subdued laughter started up yet again, Farah gripped her seat with a strength she didn't even know she had, the whole falling thing was a lot scarier when you weren't strapped to one of the most expensive planes in the world. Finally, just as the luggage that hadn't been secured quite well enough to resist the tug of rushing air seemed to come to a stop in midair, she let go, kicking off the floor as she did so. She hung there for maybe a half-minute, surrounded by a mix of shocked gasps, horrified screams, and encouraging cheers, before drifting back to her seat and relaxing once again as the straps shot into place.
She'd never been so fucking terrified.
It was incredible!

She stumbled out of the plane more than a little dizzy, practically draped across Cam's shoulder in an effort to confirm which way was up. "Now that was fun!" She called between bouts of laughter. "Hey, careful who you hang around with, arright? Stick with the wrong people for too long and that might actually start to look like it was a good idea!" Her gaze darted away from Camille's, locking with that of a very angry looking flight attendant. "Ah, shite. Gotta run, good luck out there! I'll catch up with you later!" She raised a curved brow at Diego, stumbling to a stop a few metres from the two as he spoke. She'd seen him around a few times last year and heard a bit about him, and while she'd never actually met him, he didn't seem like the type to play nice with random strangers. Who knows, though? She certainly didn't have time to figure it out. She gave him a quick smirk, calling, "It's Camille! Remember the bloody name, eh? Give her a week and she'll be helping run this place if you ask me." and shooting Cam a pointed wink before scurrying into the crowd.

She really didn't want to hear another of the Dean's speeches about student expectations and role models.
Not this early in the year, anyway. He always gave nice speeches though, so nice, in fact, that it was hard to resist demanding more.

Joshua was glad that the girl didn't react too negatively - in fact, she didn't seem to mind at all! That was good. He'd had the displeasure of knowing some people who would punch you just because you looked at them wrong. He let out a chuckle and nodded as he looked around. "Yeah. Seems like the upperclassmen got used to it by now." He then wiped his hand onto the side of his pants. "Honestly, even without the thought of impending doom, the sheer drop down seems a bit..." He trailed off but it was obvious what he was insinuating. He wasn't sure if he still wouldn't go into shock when he returned for the next year. If he would return next year and not be dropped.

"Joshua Warrens . Most people just call me Josh. Good to meet you too Jacqueline." He replied in introduction. It would be good to have a friend in here - even if they just know each other's name. Honestly, Joshua didn't even know a single person in here. It was a wild pipe dream to expect that there might be someone in here that he knew of - but nope. This was worldwide anymore. "And yeah, freshman through and through."

With introductions done, they slipped into silence. He didn't mind. They only had to wait for the introduction term and... honestly, he didn't know what would happen. If this were any normal school, they'd just be ushered to a tour or something but maybe they did things differently here. Honestly though, he felt like this place was anything but normal. Great.

He was pulled back to reality when Jacqueline caught his attention. "Hm?" He listened to her question and hummed in thought. "Nope, I'm just as stumped as you. A friend of mine tried to find out more but..." Joshua shrugged to punctuate the end of his sentence. "I haven't even seen tech like this and it's really awesome." He admitted to her. "I mean, I guess it's a little suspicious that such an elite school doesn't have much info in it but maybe they have their reasons?" He replied as he rubbed the back of his head. Honestly, he didn't have much of a reason to feel put off by it since it does look pretty legit considering how there were upperclassmen and whatnot.

Camille had managed to focus in on Farah's words, her suggestion of relaxing and learning to embrace her new Vis bringing a bit of comfor to the anxious but excited girl. As the multitude of crowd and students were both recovering from the shocking drop and preparing for the oncoming rush of the beginning year at Invectus, Camille studied her surroundings immensely, as she saw Freshman and other students making friendly conversation and getting to know each other in fellowship and happiness, something Camille figured she should be doing at the moment. Instead, she opted for advice and experience. Familiarity she found with Farah would probably prove to be beneficial in terms of longevity at Double I. See? She was already thinking of it as Double I. Aside from slang, Cam knew she was going to absorb a lot of information and conversation from the senior, since they would be seeing each other numerous times throughout the year. Though, she couldn't wait to get settled and make some more acquaintances. Cam gave a slight pat of Farah's head on her shoulder, as they both lifted up to gather their personal effects and disboard the plane. Upon the heed of Farah's words about who she decided to hang around with in determining social status and influence, ironically enough she felt her shoulder press against a solid frame. She looked over to see another student stopped beside her, a rather well-fit boy. Cute, but seemed to gaze at her with a peculiar source.

When he called her Clarissa, she only laughed under her breath as she finished grabbing her backpack and luggage, shaking her head to the lad with a small smile. For him to have seen her before, he could at least have gotten the name right. UNLESS he was thinking of another blonde he met that wasn't Cam. Before the girl had a chance to respond, Farah looked a bit protective of Cam, yet dismissed the notion just as fast as she rushed herself away to assumedly her senior duties. She did manage to correct him on the name call though. Camille blushed a bit at Farah's compliment, but only nodding in a confidence that showed she agreed wholeheartedly. She then turns to the guy. "No sweat, if you did see me it had to be over the summer. I was here for a short time. But yes! I'm Camille, nice to meet you.....?" She asked in a run off tone for him to fill in the latter part of the request.

haptic_long-thanh-international-airport-_3.jpg

Cam gathered her belongings and with a gleeful face, proceeded off the plane and into the corridors of the Double I port for further information. There were a few signs directing upperclassmen to the Sophomore Dorms, Junior Dorms, and Senior Dorms respectively. She drags her wonder woman luggage behind her as the collection of students begin to pour into the port building for instruction. The Freshman were all being cast aside from the rest of the bunch, that would assuredly take them towards the upper levels of Campus where they could undergo The Weaving eventually. It was a magical process, and Cam could VIVDLY remember her fear, excitement, and anxiousness all wrapped in one big adrenaline rush as she had undergone the process to change her humanity forever. She could only watch with envy and also relief at the young crowd, her eyes particularly landing on a young man and girl who probably just made friends off the plane. She continued to scope through the Freshman, sort of trying to get the lay of the sort to see any she deemed could have potential. Yes, it was quite superficial to judge based on appearance, but with the body comes the aura, and people's aura she'd come to learn reveals more about them than any test ever could. Even now she could feel her evoplasm resonating in her blood, like a fluctuating battery feeling. She still didn't know how to process the learning of her ability. But she knew she had to cope with it, let alone being Apex.

They all fall in as the PA system would take over the sound of Campus it sorted the students where to proceed next. Camille just tried her best to blend in, and act as though she hadn't done the steps the other Freshman hadn't yet. She hid the illusion with a smile.

PA: All classes Sophomore and above are as follows: Vocifers please report to Headmaster Asa in the Heart of the Superplex | Mentifers please head to Headmaster Morrow in the North of the Superplex | Pathifers please meet with Headmaster Kinada at the Edge of the Superplex. After moving in, please proceed immediately to the gymnasium. || FRESHMAN, please remain where you are, the Provost will be down to address further instructions. Amelia

Mentions: Indirectly Everyone.

Having seen the whole of the school from above Amelia began to gather her belongings. Grabbing up her backpack she finally managed to weave her way through the mass of people leaving the plane. Bumping into several people she nearly fell over in the mass of students but managed to stay on her feet and more or less exist with the mass. The mix of languages echoed all around her picking up on several she understood she began to smile widely. The feeling of jubilation swept over her and made goosebumps rise on her skin. Shivering lightly despite the comfortable temperature she quickly made her way out. Coming out she looked about to see people streaming every which way. Those that had been here before knew what was happening. Noticing the signs she began to pick out just how many were on the plane... no planes. Pursing her lips Amelia took a deep breath before noticing just how many people were also standing aimlessly lost.

Tightening the grip on her tablet Amelia decided to stow it away. Taking out her glasses she put them on before tapping the side of the frame. Normalized to multi-tasking the girl began to try and walk while using her eyes to navigate the smart glasses at the same time. Walking towards and through the port building Amelia heard the intercom blast. Stopping and looking up she then looked all around her before finally deciding to find a map of the complex. Stopping near the center she began to trace her way around to finally find herself and her location. Taking a snapshot with her glasses she turned around to nearly walk straight into a wall of an individual. "Steinmauer." Amelia mumbled under her breath as she began to make her way through the mass of freshman to find a place to wait.

She didn't like the fact he or his friend couldn't find anything else out , but honestly, she was surprised. "What if," she started, readjusting the backpack hanging on her shoulders, "What if we've been recruited for a super secert government agency hat uses the school a front?" She said this while glancing around to see if she could see anyone that looked like they might be a staff member, before looking back to Josh. "Welcome to secret agent school, you were apparently on some sort of government watch list." Jacquline was joking of course, she didn't believe it in the slightest, though maybe it would explain all the high end tech and secrecy. But still, very suspicious. Who knows, maybe he was right.

"Anyway, I'm sure we have nothing to worry about. I mean what's the worse that could happen?" She feels she might regret that statement later, but doesn't know why. "I wonder if we should ask someone in a higher grade? Someone might be willing to tell us something." However, if either of them would have acyully gone and asked someone, they didn't have time as the crowd began to split. She looked to Josh, shrugged, she joined the waiting freshmen. She was a little uncomfortable leaving her stuff in the hands of strangers, but she also knew she didn't have much of a choice. Jacquline just stood there in the crowd of newbies, waiting for length g to happen.

Marcus Itonomi

An entire school year since he had been summoned to this institute as a "special" being and here he was returning once more. At first, Marcus had never heard of the place nor would he have ever believed that such an outlandish and fantastic place existed in any part of the world. Yet, here they were and he was one of them.

Everything was going as expected. It was the same his first time around. The air was buzzing with excitement, everyone was chatting, the scenery was beautiful, and all the returning students had this look like they knew something the others didn't. Of course, this time around Marcus was included in the "knowing" crowd. Sure enough, the plane did its little nosedive and everyone lost their damn minds. Marcus couldn't help but burst out into laughter after they realized it was just a joke done by the pilot and he could care less how other people felt about that. If he found it funny, he might as well let everyone know rather than saying it calmly or them hearing about it from someone else.

______________________________________

Once everyone was herded out and given their instructions, Marcus wasted no time in setting the essentials of his room and heading out to find Headmaster Asa. He could only imagine what was in store for them now that they had a year of training under their belts. The thought of great challenge excited the young man like nothing could.

Joshua broke into a grin at the prospect of this being some sort of secret training facility that the government had. The prospect was just a bit silly and there was just no way it could be real. "If that were the case, I don't know what they want with an orphan." He let out the information so quickly that he hadn't had a chance to think about it, but he laughed it off and showed that it didn't bother him very much. He then broke into another laugh when she imitated someone as if she was introducing them to the school. After a moment, he had recovered and shook his head. "Yeah, like that'll ever happen." He said with a joking tone as well. He knew as well as her that it was all just a joke. And really, he appreciated it. He had been nervous about being in the school and finding new friends and actually passing the grade requirements - and it was only amplified by that little stunt earlier - so finding something to laugh about was certainly comforting to him. He was glad she was the one he bumped in to. Really, he was.

Upon being presented the question of what's the worse that can happen, Joshua's brain had already kicked into overdrive of a list of problems that can arise. He could spout off answer after answer - no matter how improbably they may be - about everything that can go wrong. Of course, there was the problem of failing the classes. And maybe even getting on the bad side of someone - maybe even a staff! Oh, this school could even be a- Joshua shook his head - which Jacqueline would have noticed but he certainly didn't think he did it in real life - to get rid of these thoughts. He can't dwell on them too much now. "Ah, yeah, asking an upperclassman would definitely help." Joshua replied, making a move to look around for anyone who seemed older but noticed that people were already scattering. Oh. He gave Jacqueline a shrug as well.

"Guess we're doing intros. Hope we get our answers." Joshua said as he placed his hands inside his pockets, nerves coming back slowly - creeping at the back of his mind. He had to turn his attention to something else. Can't keep dwelling in his mind for too long. "I hope I brought enough..." He murmured more to himself than opening up conversation. Yes, he had enough clothes for a week and a half and he was sure that laundry wouldn't be too hard to handle. Others seemed to have plenty of baggage; though, then again, he didn't exactly see them putting it in the loading bay so maybe there were some like him who had traveled light too.

JUNE DO

JUNE FINALLY GOT TO HOP OUT OF THE PLANE. HE STRETCHED HIS ARMS TOWARDS THE SKY, LOOKING LIKE A CAT. HE FINALLY SLID HIS ARMS BACK TO HIS SIDES AND PICKED UP HIS BACKPACK. SHOVING HIS BOOK THERE, HE EXITED THE PLANE WITH REST OF THE STUDENTS. PEOPLE LOOKED SO EXCITED, YOUTHFUL VIGOR DISPLAYING ON THEIR FACES. EVERYONE WAS GLOWING, EXCEPT FOR JUNE. HE LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE PEOPLE DID WHEN PEOPLE WAKE UP FROM A 4 HOUR LONG NAP AND QUESTION WHAT THEIR PLACE IN THE WORLD IS. WHY WAS THIS SCHOOL SO...EXTRA? WHAT WAS ALL THIS HASSLING AND FUSSING AROUND FOR? WERE THEY HERE JUST TO SHOW THEIR WEALTH FOR THE STUDENTS?

THANKFULLY, HE WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LOOKED CONFUSED. FRESHMEN WERE WONDERING WHAT THE HELL WAS UP WITH THIS SECRECY AND WHATNOT. JUNE WAS CONFUSED TOO. HE FELT LIKE THIS WAS THE START OF SOME CRAZY MOVIE WHERE THEY'D ALL BE LOCKED INSIDE AND SOME PEOPLE WITH WHITE COATS WOULD TRY TO DO ALL KINDS OF STUFF TO THEM. 'SUPERNATURAL' HIS ASS. SCRATCHING THE BACK OF HIS HEAD, HE EXHALED IN FRUSTRATION AS HE SAW PEOPLE ALREADY FLOCKING TOGETHER. JUNE DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM BEING BY HIMSELF. HE ACTUALLY MOSTLY PREFERRED IT. BUT HE WAS KIND OF AFRAID OF GOING THROUGH ALL THESE NEW THINGS ALONE. HE WISHED THAT HE WAS ALREADY A SOPHOMORE OR SOMETHING. HE WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE SO CONFUSED ALL THE TIME AND WOULD HAVE A SENSE OF FAMILIARITY SOMEWHERE.

WOULD HE ASK ADVICE FROM SOMEONE OLDER THAN HIM? OF COURSE NOT. JUNE HATED NOTHING AS MUCH AS ASKING FOR HELP FROM SOMEONE. IT MADE HIM FEEL WEAK AND WORTHLESS. AS THE CROWD STARTED SPLITTING, HE STAYED IN HIS PLACE. THERE WENT THE OLDER ONES. OBSERVING EVERYTHING AROUND HIMSELF, HE CLICKED HIS TONGUE TO HIMSELF. NONE OF THESE PEOPLE LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO BE MUCH OF HELP. JUNE ALMOST WISHED THAT HE WAS BACK IN DETROIT BEFORE CATCHING HIMSELF. HE WOULD NEVER GO BACK, THAT'S FOR SURE. LOOKING AT HIS WRIST TO SEE THE TIME, HE REALIZED HE DID NOT HAVE A CLOCK. HE LOOKED AROUND FOR SOMEONE AND SAW A COUPLE TALKING.

"HEY, WHAT TIME IS IT?" HE ASKED NONCHALANTLY FROM THE TWO PEERS OF HIS. THEY LOOKED LIKE A PAIR OF LOSERS THAT HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING IN THEIR LIFE. ONE OF THEM HAD PACKED PRETTY LIGHTLY, THAT HE HAD NOTICED. HE APPRECIATED THAT, JUNE HAD NEVER UNDERSTOOD THE POINT OF DRAGGING HALF YOUR HOUSE WITH YOU EITHER. LAZILY SHIFTING HIS EYES TOWARDS THE GIRL, HE NOTED THAT SHE LOOKED COMICALLY SHORT NEXT TO HIMSELF.

Diego stepped back in confusion as Farah flew by the in the crowd. He was positive she was a senior and couldn't help but grin when she made the remark about hanging around the wrong people. Compared to him, she was quite short so he was taken aback at first, not seeing her before. Diego made a mental note that he would have to do more... research about his fellow students, especially those who were considered smarter or better than the majority of the school. He had already promised himself that this was going to be the year where he took everything seriously.

Diego watched as Camille walked towards the school entrance and nodded to himself with approval. Instead of going the same direction as her, Diego moved eastward to where the crowd seemed to be dying off. Now that there were less people around, he was able to take in his surroundings more clearly. It was more beautiful than he remembered but then again, the world of normal human beings he was used to was nothing too amazing. Diego awkwardly dropped his bags on the floor and stood in his spot a few moments longer in silence which got him some looks by a passing group of Freshmen who were considering to ask him if he was in need of any help. The students passed and Diego's mouth opened widely, his youth starting to show when he let out a short chuckle.

"I am at Invectus now" he said to no one in particular. It had been quite a long journey here and he needed time to slow down. It was something he had done every year like a ritual to make sure he was always calm. Preparing to head to the school's main entrance, Diego turned his head to some voices calling his name.

"Yo Diego! Come on man, we gotta get to our dorms! The hell ya doing?!" the man said. He seemed to be at least a year older than Diego and more popular than him because he was surrounded by a group of at least four people. Unfortunately, Diego had no idea who he was looking at. He must have talked to this person last semester and just forgot about him. Diego frowned; if he didn't remember who he was, it probably meant he was too irrelevant for him to care. Diego stood in place and simply looked at the stranger with his frown of disapproval. The person who had shouted his name stood there in confusion and walked off with his friends awkwardly which suited Diego much better. He could think he was weird, it was fine. He spent too much time in his Freshman year trying to be sociable which proved to be a large waste of time. For the first time in his life, he was more concerned about learning more in school instead of ditching whenever certain circumstances didn't fit his preferences.

Getting to his dormitory proved to be quite easy, as he remembered the majority of the school's layout. His headmaster never made it clear if he had a roommate or not so for now Diego was alone, like he wanted. Diego placed his two duffel bags and one suitcase on the floor, beside his bed with exhaustion. The dorms didn't seem to change too much from last year and if it weren't for the fact that he didn't have to go to the gymnasium, he probably would have fled to the library. He scratched his head and lifted his suitcase, dropping it on the mattress before him. He opened it quickly and changed into different clothes as quickly as he could, in fear of a mystery roommate showing up. He was now wearing black shoes with black pants and a black long sleeve shirt that had Detroit in big white letters on it. He grabbed a a white sweater with a zipper and center, putting his hood on his head while leaving the sweater unzipped. He closed his dorm door behind him after cleaning up his mess and headed towards the gymnasium with interest.

Farah had never been more glad that she was so good at running away from her problems than she was right now. Outpacing one of Double I's security personnel was a feat in and of itself, even if they had been slowed down by the fancy flight uniform and the confusing crowd. But her run wasn't over yet. Ducking between the wild flows of a thousand busy people had unsurprisingly confused the hell out of her, and to say she'd gotten a little turned around would be a criminal understatement. She took a moment to find her bearings as the intercom came to life. A quick look around had confirmed she was near the heart of the Superplex, otherwise known as just about the farthest she could be from where she was supposed to be. Fantastic. She grinned at the dramatics of splitting everyone into their various houses before they'd even moved in. It wasn't like anyone actually cared too much about the whole rivalry thing that Invectus always seemed to be pushing. She didn't anyway, and neither did most of the people she'd gotten to know. Then again, seeing everyone treat their house like a sports team could be a bit of fun. As long as they didn't go overboard with it. She groaned at the thought of sprinting across the entire Hub again, but, having caught her breath and made sure both the messenger bag and backpack she'd slung a little precariously over her shoulder were secure, she took off through the crowd once again. It was a damn good thing she hadn't brought along as much as usual this year.

Actually, thinking about it, that wasn't exactly true. She had packed quite a bit this time around, looking to live her final dorm year in some idea of comfort, but not all of it had made it this far. A good half of it had mysteriously disappeared in the time she'd left it alone in the hands of the 'Capable Cargo Handlers of Gatwick Airport'. She really hated that bloody airport. She'd usually just take the train to wherever it was she needed to go, but with how tight a schedule Double I kept, not to mention Farah's own tendency to cut her timing a little too close for comfort, flying had seemed like a better option. Usually it worked out well enough, but, unfortunately, 'usually' does not mean the same thing as 'always'. Thankfully she did have at least a few changes of clothes and the bare bones of some decent bathroom supplies, but that was about it. She didn't even have a jacket. At least Campus itself never exactly got cold, but with how often Headmaster Kinada sent her down to The Bellows to keep students way more powerful than herself from doing something dangerous, she'd definitely have to steal someone's coat. Maybe her roommate's?

She still hadn't decided how she felt about that job. She didn't really mind playing guard, but it was a pretty depressing reminder that some of the students she saw every single day were absolute miles ahead of her in terms of their powers. She didn't hate Apex students, not at all, but she was admittedly a bit jealous of them. Besides, it wouldn't even take an Apex to outclass her. Her Vis was... Weak. There really was no gentler way to put it. Combine that with her less than earth-shattering powers and it was no wonder why she felt a little useless around them. Still, her Headmaster had found a use for the powers and skills she did have, and she was genuinely grateful for that. Granted, Kinada had probably meant for her to make those that visited The Bellows feel fear when they got too close, but Farah hated doing that. She usually opted for distracting the students into doing something stupid rather than dangerous, and, so far, it seemed to do the trick. Of course, the staff usually weren't too happy to find a bunch of their star students drunk beyond belief in the courtyard, but it was better than never finding them again, right? Speaking of the Headmaster, Farah had managed to catch her eye as she passed by on the way to her assigned dorm. She'd given her a short nod. It wasn't much, but it was an incredibly respectful gesture from the notorious rebel. The two tended to argue more than they spoke. 'Personality conflict' barely scratched the surface, but there was a sort of silent appreciation hidden behind those battles. They were like two parts of a coin, both watching over their fellow Pathifers in their own different ways. At least, that's how Farah liked to see it, whether or not it was actually true.

In either case, the gym was waiting, and as Farah joined the flow of people going there, she couldn't help but swell with a bit of excitement. This really was it. She was back at Invectus.

She cocked her eyebrow at the orphan comment, but kinda chuckled a little. "Secret school, no parents, you're like, two thirds of the way to being a superhero." All he needed now was a suit, and he could be be Batman. Pretty cool if he actually turned out to be a vigilante in disguise, though it was a bit sad. She didn't know what she would with without her mom, and growing up without her would have been hell, she could already tell. Anyway, he moved on quickly.

"Yeah, if like some answers." Like what is this place? Where were they on a map? What the hell was up with the plane, because that's not how planes work? She could think of a hundred questions, but was pulled out of thought when a new voice joined in. "Oh, yeah, one sec." The new boy was taller than her, but alot of people were going to be, she was already use to it. She got her mother's height, which was a bit unfair when her brother was a skinny 6'5 giant. Anyway, she took her backpack off, to dig through the pocket she had out her phone in, and pulled it out. However..."It's dead. Sorry man, I don't know what time it is," she answered, putting her phone back and returning her bookbag to her shoulders. She glanced to Josh, thinking he would check next, before she looked to the new boy.

He didn't look to interested in what was going on, or maybe he just confused to the point he didn't care? She had felt like that before, it was not a great feeling, but there isn't anything they can really do. "I'm uh, I'm Jacquline Kidman by the way, you a freshman too?" She was asking just to make sure, though she knew his answer was most likely gonna be yes. He could also be a staff member in disguise, so that was a fun little thought. Maybe though, it meant whatever was happened was gonna start happening sooner. She could only hope, her feet were starting to hurt.

Joshua let out a laugh. "My friends told me that I only needed to be rich and I'll already be Batman." Though, he never really opened up why he had become an orphan so people assumed that they just died and left him. Quite unfortunately, it wasn't that kind of case. If past was going to be taken into account - he'd be more likely to fall on the villain side with a tragic backstory. It was a good thing that he didn't actually have any sort of sway - or power - or else it might have happened. Might. He wasn't exactly sure how to feel about his mother leaving him to the orphanage and to eventually fend for himself without the help of the adult that had birthed him so he just shoved the thought aside. No use thinking about her, really, it just made him kind of sad.

He was just about to reply and tell her that whatever the dean would say would at least answer their question - but another guy had neared them and questioned them about the time. He turned to Jacqueline as she began to rummage through her backpack to look at the time from her phone but it was unfortunately turned off and didn't have any battery left. She had turned to him expectantly and he looked at his analog watch for a moment before looking at him. "Yeah, I'm not sure we're following Californian time." He said with a small frown. He let his arm fall down to his pocket. "Maybe around 8 am though?" Joshua suggested helpfully as he looked up. Honestly, he wasn't sure anymore. They just went through a vortex of water just moments earlier so this place might as well have a different time frame than the rest of the world.

He wasn't exactly sure how to describe the guy. He seemed like the most disinterested among all of them, and he didn't seem as shaken as the others from the Drop. But maybe that was because he had the time to shake it off since they've been standing around for a few minutes. More than enough to solidify yourself onto the ground and convince yourself that you were alive. Definitely. Though Joshua was only able to really calm himself down because he found someone to talk to. But each person had their own ways of coping. "Joshua Warrens." He added with a raise of his right hand when Jacqueline had introduced herself. It was only polite to tell your name to someone you might eventually be classmates with, right? Nevertheless, it was already out there and Joshua wasn't sure if the other guy would reciprocate their introduction.

HE REALLY WAS CONFUSED TO THE POINT THAT HE HAD STOPPED CARING. AFTER THAT DIVE, ANYTHING COULD JUMP OUT OF THE BUSHES AND JUNE WOULD HOLD HIS POKER FACE. MAYBE EVEN SQUARE UP AND GET READY TO GET HIS ASS KICKED OR SOMETHING. HE WAS STARING THE TWO YOUNG PEOPLE DOWN INTENSELY. THERE WAS NOTHING NECESSARILY THREATENING IN HIS DEMEANOR. HE WAS JUST THERE STANDING, STARING AND WAITING. THE GIRL REACTED FIRST, TAKING THE BACKPACK OFF AND STARTING TO RUMMAGE THROUGH HER STUFF. JUNE'S HOPES AND DREAMS WERE SHOT DOWN AS SHE REVEALED THAT THE BATTERY OF HER PHONE WAS DEAD. HE NODDED AND LOOKED AT THE BOY IN HOPES OF HIM BEING SMARTER THAN JUNE TO NOT LEAVE HIS PHONE AND SMARTER THAN THIS GIRL TO NOT TAKE A DEAD PHONE WITH YOU.

THE GIRL SOON WAS GIVEN A NAME THAT SHE DECIDED TO REVEAL TO JUNE. HE LAZILY SHIFTED HIS GAZE TOWARDS HER AS SHE ASKED IF HE WAS A FRESHMAN. JUNE WAS SURE THAT EVERYONE ELSE BUT FRESHMEN WERE ASKED TO LEAVE THIS PLACE. WHATEVER, HE WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION THAT MUCH TO HIS SURROUNDINGS ANYWAY. EVERYTHING IMPORTANT WAS HAPPENING IN HIS OWN HEAD. THE BOY NODDED TO CONFIRM HER SUSPICIONS.
"YEAH, I AM-" JUNE WONDERED FOR A WHILE IF HE SHOULD REVEAL HIS NAME TOO. DEEMING THAT IT'D DO HIM NO HARM, HE A ACTED ACCORDINGLY. "-JUNE DO. PLEASURE TO MEET YOU," THE BOY ANSWERED BEFORE TURNING TO THE OTHER KID AGAIN. PEOPLE WOULD OFTEN RIDICULE HIM BECAUSE OF HIS TRADITIONALLY FEMININE NAME. HE NEVER REALLY MINDED THE TEASING BUT SOMETIMES IT GOT REPETITIVE AND BORING. JUNE WAS AN OK MALE NAME JUST A CENTURY AGO OR SO, HE WAS NAMED AFTER SOME ANCESTOR ANYWAY. HE DIDN'T REMEMBER WHICH ONE.

THE BOY SEEMED RATHER CONFUSED HIMSELF TOO. NOW THAT HE MENTIONED IT, JUNE COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER WHAT TIME ZONE WERE THEY ALL STUCK IN. IT ALL SEEMED CONFUSING BUT HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH ENERGY TO START THINKING ABOUT THIS MORE DEEPLY. HE SCRATCHED HIS TEMPLE AND DID A DISMAYED CLICK OF THE TONGUE. IF IT REALLY WAS SOMETHING AROUND 8 AM, IT WAS TOO EARLY FOR HIM TO BE AWAKE. WELL, NOT EXACTLY. HE WAS PROBABLY STILL STAYING UP AT 8 AM AND SLEPT THROUGH THE DAY. JUNE WAS WHAT ONE COULD CALL A NIGHT OWL. HE NEVER SHOOK THE TEENAGE-Y HABITS OF GOING TO SLEEP LATE AND WAKING UP LATE TOO. IT BECAME A PART OF HIM. SOMETHING HE SHOULD WORK ON ONE DAY SINCE HE WAS IN SCHOOL AGAIN. IT HAD BEEN A LONG TIME HE HAD BEEN A SETTING LIKE THIS, MANY PEOPLE AROUND HIS AGE SURROUNDING HIM. HE WAS HOMESCHOOLED DUE TO VARIOUS REASONS AND STILL HAD DIFFICULTY TO INTERACT WITH SOME OF HIS PEERS. JUNE FELT A BIT BAD SOMETIMES, BUT THIS WAS ANOTHER CHANCE.

HE WAS ABOUT TO TURN AWAY BEFORE THE BOY DECIDED TO INTRODUCE HIMSELF TOO. JUNE BLINKED A FEW TIMES AS IF TO REBOOT HIMSELF ONCE AGAIN AND LOOKED AT THE RAISED HAND. RIGHT. A HANDSHAKE, NOTHING ELSE. HE DIDN'T HESITATE GRABBING THE HAND AND SHAKING IT FIRMLY. JUNE WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO SQUEEZED THE HAND OF THE OTHER PERSON ANNOYINGLY TIGHTLY, AS IF HE WAS OUT HERE TO ASSERT HIS DOMINANCE THIS WAY. HE DIDN'T THINK OF IT AS A WAY TO ASSERT DOMINANCE, HE ACTUALLY THOUGHT IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN A LOOSE AND SOFT HANDSHAKE. FIRM HANDSHAKES WERE THE WAY TO GIVE SOMEONE REASSURANCE, WEREN'T THEY?
