The Ninth Realm

It gets a little sad ;-; But, the saddest I've watched is Clannad.

So.... I can't really grasp the style of the rp. I mean besides the magic schools, what time period we are talking about? Technology, morals, people... Interest check thread doesn't really tell much..?

Or is this because it is casual?

[edit] If so I can simply go with fantasy medieval.

The king seems to be a hella nasty person..."last school to remain alive wins" :)

Uh it's basically medieval fantasy I suppose. There's no advanced technology or weaponry like tanks or guns, just swords and whatnot. What did you want to know specifically for morals? And as for people, it's mainly just the teachers, Father Zoro, headmasters or other students really.

Morals... well, stuff like how is it that everyone is fine with the bloodshed? Doubt people would go put themselves in danger for some petty reason. Are the students just that devoted to their schools that they would gladly die so that their headmaster can be the next king? Then I get the feeling this will get pretty dark.

Well for some there might be loads of loyalty whereas others are simply trapped here. Pretty sure it was stated in the lore that one cannot leave the city

As Gemmy said, they're basically all stuck there. As for those who accept this all happening, it would mostly be those who've suffered the low life expectancy of non-royalty or something, victims of high crime rates, etc., all just looking for some way to let out their desire to see blood shed to please their anger. Those who don't accept it are trapped there, and those who don't accept it but want to live have to kill, or else they'll never leave Nayuta alive. As for those who sent people to Nayuta to study magic, they also knew this would happen and was given the option to withdraw their student(s) from Nayuta shortly before this all began. Those without a family of some kind though, were basically left with no way out of Nayuta. Nobody really dares go against Zoro's orders and wishes though, given he's kind of like a god with his magic; enough to construct Nayuta by himself, and that says a lot if over three thousand highly-trained students can't break out of that city with how high its magical defense is.

~Just a reminder: When the RP starts, please, please, please don't ignore others, or have a whole scene with only two people (Like, 2 pages worth). I've seen this happen in almost every RP I've been in, and it's one of the reasons RPs die out/get boring. (I feel like I'll wake up to pages on pages of posts and have to read them all >.< But I can deal with it, so no worries, lol.)~

This. This right here. Oh my gosh. Happens to me with every. Single. RP. I've ever had. I second this motion.

@Kiyoko Tomoe

Thx, you cleared up a lot of things. This rp turned out much darker than I thought it would be but I like it :)

Also, I am fine with the weaknesses and will draft a CS some time today and then will start the conversation. For now, I am thinking blazing sun magma-ish (hope that would not turn him completely useless with those weaknesses).

Lol, same here. It is solvable with posting order but I haven't seen anyone use it on RPN *sigh*

I would prefer you prepare a Cross-Light character (energy or holy arts, your choice), just in case Harbinger doesn't get a character for there so that we have a balance of characters. If you want though, go ahead with the blazing sun magma character.

If energy includes potential and kinetic energy (as in physics) then its good. Is it similar to silent step?

Energy is similar to silent step in the sense physical capabilities are heightened and the user performs mainly physical combat, though it's more of a hit until the opponent's beaten kind of style, as opposed to Silent Step which focuses on precise strikes to cause maximum damage with minimal energy wasted. Also, energy includes creation and slight manipulation of electricity/lightning. That's basically what energy users can do, though I suppose some sort of electromagnetic field that allows slight manipulation of nonliving objects with some kind of electrical charge. That electrical charge could be produced by taking energy in the air and making it electricity as it's placed within objects. That'd basically be two or three levels below forbidden though, forbidden magic being level ten, and the average maximum level of magic a student can produce being something that's debatable between being level six and level seven. Wouldn't be out of the question though, just it would be such precise control of magical energy that it wouldn't be your average magic and would be a little draining compared to most magic.

@Kiyoko Tomoe

Ok, I fine with Cross-light then! Just to be clear, by energy you mean only magical energy (which is sort of everywhere), not energy as a broad term. Right? They cannot lets say, use thermal energy (cool down the room and use that energy to do stuff) or anything else..?

Energy they use is basically a mixture of magical energy and energy within their own body and within the air. They can't directly use energy within other things and other living beings, and because it's a mixture of magical energy and regular energy, they can't really control enemy magic or anything. They can however, play support for somebody who's building up some sort of magic.

Also, there are seven types of magical energy, and no magic energy just exists in the human realm. Each of the six types of magic has their own type of magical energy, and there are six realms for those energies. Magic is performed when a user draws their magical energy from a storage within themselves and shapes it. That storage slowly replenishes itself by drawing more energy from the seventh realm, which is where all magical energy gathers, and makes the seventh type of magical energy. A person can only normally access one of the six magic types within that energy though, which is why people don't perform more than one type of magic, or a combination of two types of magic.

Zoro on the other hand, has figured out how to separate that seventh magic and use each magic energy separately, or combine them if he wishes. That's why he's considered to be like a god, becasue of his extreme magical capabilities. It's possible for anybody to access all types of magic though, but it's extremely difficult to figure out, leaving only Zoro's able to do it at current time.

Sorry, went a bit further explaining than was needed. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for a character though.

Well, I'm working on some of the pre-kingdom lore, so when I get it done I'll tell you so you can check the lore tab. I plan to get in more than just pre-kingdom lore though, like perhaps any wars and whatnot that may have occurred after the war that ended with the founding of the kingdom our characters are all from.

Ko-Chan is good at coming up with lore ^^ Oh, yeah, I wonder how Plushie is doing with the CS?

Pretty good. I know Plushie's at least there and working on it, given that they asked a question regarding their character about an hour ago.

That's good.

Also, @Harbinger , I'm just tagging you so you don't forget. I can completely understand if you're busy, though.

Looking at all the CSs, it appears we have some experienced and talented roleplayers. I'm excited, this is gonna be a good one.

Everyone else's character sheets totally blow me away @.@ You guys are a totally different brand of RPers compared to what I'm used to!

Neither do I xD The only thing that will hold me back from posting is school :P Once I come home then I'm ready to go!

Guys, this is Bub-Chan.

@Mrs Bubbles

xD She just created her account today, so I brought her here so she can start RPing. Although she's not online, she says she wants the second Snowfall student position.

Also, don't mind me, but I really want to start soon >.< All of you made really good CSs and I can't wait to see them in action!
