Ok, just to let people know where I'm coming from, I imagined this RP to be something like Greek/Roman god simulator. The gods in those stories more or less f*ck up the entire world on a whim all the time. That's why we don't have an omnipotent, omniscient god but just powerful gods of one thing. As for your example of having a god of earth creating a giant earthquake, we wouldn't have the Odyssey without Poseidon constantly screwing Odysseus over.


Point is, major gods are capable of destroying everything but we always have a target, not the world in general...unless we're a god of death, that's what heroes are for. You also have to take into account that these powerful gods will have other powerful gods working against their plans. Instead of a council of gods, we have a loose truce among the gods, bound by the fact that if they step out of place, they can bet that several other gods will come swooping over to put them back.

Alright so I don't think my first idea would work well at all, but what about my second idea. Having a few people as just kind of heads of council. They may be slightly more powerful but its not like they are invincible and all knowing, you don't have to listen to them. Gods fight all the time and just because you are head of council or whatever doesn't mean you are going to win. It's more like you have the respect of the others because you have been around the longest or are a bit stronger than them.

Alright, time to throw in my two sense. Council of gods for that political intruige, gods gaining favors with each other so things they want passed get passed. Can't strip a god of godhood but can belittle them by making them do pointless and meaningless things. Finally, about the Odessy, Odiseous (excuse spelling) blinded Posiden's, that cyclops. There, my two cents.

Odysseus went to an island and blinded a cyclops that was Poseidon's son. The cyclops then cursed Odysseus using his father's name. Poseidon pissed that Odysseus blinded his son throws random storms and whirlpools and stuff in his way so that his journey home takes way longer than it should and he has to overcome a bunch of challenges and stuff to finally get home. All throughout this Athena who was always pretty chummy with Odysseus is helping him.

I quite like this idea of having the gods gain favors amongst themselves just to get their stuff passed, it shows how corruptible and flawed they are. I'm very tired right now, and if I'm correct in my assumption, I'm most likely going to be sick tomorrow too.

I actually like this idea. If my vote has any merit I would go with this one ~

Also what do our gods look like? Do they look like humans or aliens?

Well we're basing it off of an alien civilization so they most likely would resemble that of the aliens or just something they would come up with, they have no knowledge of other species such as them like us humans so having their gods look completely different then them would be weird. ya get me?

So sorry that I haven't been too active here guys, been really busy with other stuff and I will continue to be busy, busy enough to not be able to work on this until my schedule is cleared up. I'll be on RPN doing Rps but to the creation of the Rp it will take some time. Again I'm really sorry and I hope this doesn't make you lose interest.
