The Moon Prince

(It really should be fantasy....lol) You are washing the final coffee cup in your Coffee shop when you look out the window and notice the moon looks rather strange. As you are trying to pinpoint just what is off about it, you hear a loud crash in the dining area then the lights cut out. After a few moments a man appears before you.

Well, that could have gone more smoothly.

Edgar rose to his feet, brushed off the shattered glass off of his cloak, and adjusted the bandanna around the lower half of his face. Blue eyes pierced through the darkness as he search for the man he was sent out to protect.

The moon prince watched the young man from his perch in a nearby tree for a few minutes before deciding to throw pine cones at him. In his mind this was a perfectly reasonable thing to do. "Hey, FACE-HEAD" he called to Edgar, "Who are you looking for?"

With no regard towards the frightened coffee shop clerk, Edgar turned towards the newly broken window and in the direction of the young prince himself.

"Your majesty..." A courteous bow was preformed before the man leaped back out the window and into the tree above, sitting beside the Moon Prince. "I was called out to see you back to the palace. It's getting close to sunrise."

With a shake of his wavy blonde head the Prince promptly and curtly responded"No. I'm not going back. I am going to marry that handsome shop clerk and there is nothing you can do to stop me!" With a swish of his white cloak he hopped out of the tree and entered the shop.(hmmm we need a clerk lol)

With a flick of his wrist Eddy moved the shadows from the trees and attempted to block the prince's path.

"I've stopped you before, Your Majesty. Who says I cannot stop you this time?"

The Prince smirked and stroked his guards face. "Jealousy doesn't become you Eddy. You are much too handsome for that! Now please step aside so that I may speak with my bride- er groom-human thing....Dingblastit Edward- Phil whatever your name is! You messed up my cool moment!" The Prince's pale face crimsoned as he scolded his guard!

While this was going on the Shop worker quietly crept out of his hiding spot into the front of the shop.Shaking, he slowly approached the two intruders with his Cell phone in hand. "W-who's there?! I have the police on the line! So you better show yourself!" He yelled into the darkness

"You mistake your kingdom's worries for jealousy of a simple guard..." Edgar knew what he was getting himself into on the day of his induction into the royal guard, but he never realized how protecting a prince was more along the lines of babysitting.

The usual cool demeanor never wavered as the prince stroked his face then exploded into nonsense. It was a very typical situation for the two of them, especially with the new found love the prince had with a lowly shop owner.

Edgar lowered the shadow, took some coins out of the purse that hung loosely on his belt, and placed them gently on the table. "I'm sorry for the intrusion. Here's for the expenses. We shall be leaving now."

Without a word Edgar simply grabbed the prince by the ear and attempted to drag him all the way back to the palace.

"N-NO! You can't separate me from my sugar sweet honey baby lovey dovey baby wife groom person! I won't allow it" The prince's aqua eyes filled with tears as he began to claw and reach for his new love. "I need him Egbert! I NEEEEEED HIIIIM!"

In that moment the prince began to glow a bit allowing the frightened worker to look at his lovely pitiful face. Against his better judgement he stepped forward and snatched the prince out of Edgar's grasp pulling him close. "I'm sorry. He doesn't want to leave so let him stay"

The prince shivered in romantic ecstasy as he stared up at his beloved rescuer "I knew you would love me too~" He cooed. Then he shot Edgar a sharp glare and stuck out his tongue.

A dim light began to gleam through the windows as the early morning sun rose over the horizon. Due to the sensitive nature of his eyes Edgar knew that he could not stay very long and watch over his majesty in his current state.

So, much to his dismay, he reached into his cloak pocket and took out a thick pair of sunglasses before placing them over his eyes.

"If it pleases you, my prince, then you shall stay." Since his expression was nearly unreadable due to the bandanna and the sunglasses Edgar felt at ease that the prince could not see an eye roll from the guard. "I shall be your escort. I'm sure you can understand," Edgar had to pause, realizing he had not yet become acquainted with the shopkeep. "I'm sorry. It seems I have not given my name and you yours." A bow of courtesy was displayed by the guard before returning to his straight back position. "Edgar Weeks, personal guard of the Moon Prince," He gestured to the man now holding onto the shopkeep. "And you are?"

The shop keeper blushed and let go of the prince...what is actually going on here thought. "My name is Artemus. It's nice to meet you...um who is this kid?" He looked down at the prince who was still gazing at him in awe.

"I'm the moon prince!" He chirped flinging his arms around Artemus' neck

"Uh, okay but what is your name?"

"I want you to name me!" The prince began to kiss up and down Artemus' neck causing him to fall on the floor out of shock. The prince climbed on top of his fiancé and continued to kiss him.

"Edgar please get him off of me!" The man cried

With a reluctant sigh Edgar plucked the prince off of the shopkeeper, now named Artemus, and placed the prince in a chair.

"Please excuse his majesty. I can assure you, he means well," Edgar placed a firm hand on the prince's shoulder to make sure he did not move an inch out of the chair. "We shall see how long this little escapade lasts."

The prince blew a kiss at Artemus then scowled at his guard. "It will last a lifetime because, we are getting married! Gosh, Egbert try to contain your envy!"

Artemus laughed, his face reddening a little bit. "I'm sorry little guy but I already have someone in like...so I can't say that I'm interested in your offer.sorry"

The prince smiled angelicly "Really? Who is this person?"

"My co-worker Drew..." Artemus giggled absent-mindedly.

"Edgar find this Drew person and kill him."

"Ehehe- WHAT?!

"Your majesty, I would like you to think this through." Edgar placed the hand that was not currently keeping the prince at bay on his sword hilt, feeling the weight of the decision before him. "You cannot be going around killing your subjects just because you yourself are jealous. Think of their happiness rather than yours for the time being. You have all of eternity to decide who you would like to spend it with. This... Artemus only has a lifetime."

The prince pouted. "That's exactly why he should spend his one life with me and all of my opulence! Tomorrow evening I want Drew to be dead by 9:00 pm. Now I wish to rest! Artemus, my love , take us to your house!

"Sure thing." Artemus growled. He was starting to regret his decision to rescue the prince from Edgar. He eyed Edgar warily. That was not a man he wanted to cross. "Follow me I live right upstairs." Artemus led them past the employee's only door to a staircase in a narrow hallway that led up to an even more narrow hallway that led to his decent two bedroom apartment.

"Okay little prince, you and Eddy share the guest room. Towels are in the towel place. I will be in my room." Once Artemus had gone the prince turned to his guard and smiled "Isn't he dreamy?"

"Seems... like a minimalist, to be precise."

Edgar looked around the small, quaint living quarters and knew for certain that the prince himself could not live here for the rest of the worker's short life. A life of a prince requires that of a castle, a royal guard, servants... not mingling with the common folk on a day-to-day basis.

"Your majesty, why don't we take him back to the palace tonight? He shall be away from... Drew, I believe his name was, and stay with you. That way there can be no mindless killing and you get to be with the man you had seen in your dreams."

"We will leave tomorrow. Tonight I wish to share a bed with you!" The prince smiled sweetly at his guard and led him to their bedroom. "Please lie down on the bed" The prince was always intrigued by Edgar's icy personality, tonight he wanted to see if he could melt it

"Your majesty, I don't think that would be very proper of us." Edgar was thankful for the sunglasses, hood, and bandanna for shielding his face. Otherwise there would be a notable hint of pink resting on his cheeks. "Wouldn't you want to spend the night with your 'lover to be'? Or maybe that is also improper..."

" Are you disobeying me?! I'm appalled!" He squawked, closing the blinds and turning off the lights. "Besides, who is going to know that we shared a bed? I'm not telling if you're not." He pulled down Edgar's bandanna and flipped his hood away. "Don't tell me you are nervous about sleeping next to little old me. I mean yeah, my body is young and supple but still, I'm just the moon prince."

"...If the prince obeys it, I must obliged."

Reluctantly, Edgar discarded his sword and laid it gently against the wall. In one swift motion he removed the cloak, folded it neatly into a square, and rested it gently next to the sword. Next his boots were discarded and stood side by side by the door. The sunglasses were removed since the blinds were down and the lights were off. The rays from the incoming morning sun still peaked through the cracks causing Edgar to squint slightly. The bandanna continued to hang loosely around his neck.

The guardsman lowered himself onto the bed, moving very close to the edge, and laid his head against the pillow. It was going to be a very, very long day.

In a blink of an eye the Prince's clothes were discarded and messily thrown on the floor. "Let's have lots of fun tonight!" He laughed as he climbed on top of the guard and straddled his waist "what do you want to play first?"

"You're majesty," The guard turned his body to face forwards towards the prince. "I understand you enjoy playing with people but that is not my duty as a royal guard. I'm supposed to protect you, not," He gestured lazily to the prince, "Whatever this is. It would be wise to get some sleep."

Hmm playing hard to get well then I shall up the ante! The prince pouted. "Fine. I guess I'll- haha psyche!" Faster than a shooting star, the prince pulled down Edgar's bandanna and kissed him on the lips.
