The Monsters of Reality (Idea and Masturi42040)

((Thanks!))

Rachel woke up sprawled across her bed with a throbbing headache pounding at her temples. The remains of a cold sweat had her feeling queasy and sticky. She got up to take a shower. The water took a while to heat up, so Rachel looked in the mirror and brushed her hair, knowing that she would need to again once the shower was done. Rachel thought about the day before as she undressed and got into the shower. She had been met by three men and two woman. The Council of Five, they had called themselves. They were apart of the coorperation against evil. Rachel had been recruited; it was her first day. Cleansing hot stam turned her bathroom into something of a sauna, she stood there, letting it clear her mind. Rachel opened the door once she dressed, the rest of the house was cold, especially the brown tile below her feet. Making her way into the kitchen, Rachel started up the coffee maker. The sound of grinding and a struggled trickle of liquid was familiar, and gave her comfort. Rachel dumped the coffee into one of her sealed cups, adding two sugars and a splash of creamer. It was time to go to work. Rachel paced out the door into the crisp morning air, taking a small sip of her scalding coffee and tucking a piece of blonde hair behind her ear.

(Rodrick´s POV: )

"Good morning sleeping beauty." I greeted her with less than a grin on my face. Seriously, making me wait like that. She hadn´t changed at all, had she? Lazy as always, even after losing her memories. "It´s six in the morning already, you have to start hurrying. Get used to it already."

I pushed myself away from the wall, and pulled out my small notebook. It was a tiny black thing, about the size of the palm of my hand each page, just enough for me to note down some details when I had to. When people did what I did long enough, one is bound to start mixing things up if they don´t keep some form of notes.

"It seems our work today involves a pyromantic. Mexican... I guess you´ll have to translate again if he speaks. Jeez, just cause you´re with me they only give me these small fry..." I rubbed the back of my head, sighing in disappointment. "Just cause your ability is one of the few that allows us to deal with those international incidents, though those aren´t usually the powerful ones. Oh, well, what can I do..."

I turned my back on her, giving a couple steps before stopping. I glanced over my shoulder, hurling a set of keys at her.

"You´re driving. 44th bowel street." I announced, pocketing my hands again as I headed towards the glass doors and their shine from the early morning rays.

Rachel rubbed her forehead as to ease the headache that pounded at her temples. "Yeah, yeah, okay. I'll get up earlier next time." she replied, a tint of annoyance tailing her sentence. Rachel sighed and set her coffee mug down, scurrying back upstairs and throwing on some clothes. She threw on the black slacks and white shirt, her work coat was down by the door. She blinked hard and stumbled to the bathroom, slathering the bristles of her toothbrush and scrubbing her teeth quickly. Rachel rinsed out her mouth with some tap water and rushed herself downstairs. Her jacket was laying over an arm of the couch, covered in cat hair. She glared in the direction of a fuzzy grey cat and brushed it off best she could with her hands. After much strife, Rachel managed to put on the coat. It felt formal and uncomfortable. Rachel shifted uneasily. "Alright, I'm ready." she called, jingling her car keys to attract his attention.
