Hmmm.... seems like Phoenix needs training on how to not kill people with her powers.


Storm Maiden was drilled pretty hard on that herself. :P
 
Heh, yeah... Cory's never really been in the field before sooo just how much to let loose/hold back is a concept she's not gotten a handle on. I'm well prepared for any consequences of that in the future, as no doubt someone's gonna notice the mess on the cubicle floor.
 
I have a feeling it's Boss Battle time!


I just have no idea who to have us face that could actually pose a challenge/not get laid flat by overwhelming amounts of lightning and/or fire.

What would end up with Storm Maiden knocking out the guy in one hit...


After some thinking, I think someone with rock powers would probably be best. Someone who stands there and tanks everything while throwing high velocity rocks at you.

I'm not sure what you mean with that first paragraph, but whatever.  A proper hydrokinetic will use the water to effectively redirect electricity through the water and negate the fire.


P.S. The word you're looking for is geokinesis.
 
I think Geomancer would actually propose a threat to Storm Maiden. A Hydromancer with the ability to direct the flow of electricity in their water would still get beat because Storm Maiden knows how to force her lightning to take the path she wants to take, countering out a counter to her abilities.


For a chuck of rock, the best Storm Maiden can manage in a fight would either be to blast it apart with concussive force or to somehow end up "magically magnetising" the rock... which wouldn't help since her attacks would then get drawn to it.


I'll get that Mr. Geomancer up tomorrow barring unforeseen crap happening.

Not to nag, but it wouldn't be that simple.  Assuming there is a room at the bottom and not just more tunnle, the control center is not going to be that close.  The control center for everything that currently matters is definitely in a different room (a room much higher where we were before), and even if that was magically the same room Leo made sure to mess with the entire systms code, rendering it almost entierly useless.  If you are thinking of the other control room, it will be past several closed doors that, assuming you could stealth your way to, wouldn't open for you and would take so long that the rest of us wouldn't be just entering the vents, rather leaving them at an estimate in your favor.  Plus there'd be people in there much more equipped to handle the likes of you.  Just to finalize it, the rest of the complex is laid out more horizontally under the mountain rather than almost straight down from outisde of it.  I appologise if I was not clear enough with the layout before, but this will not stand.  Truth be told, I wouldn't imagine there being much of any of the complex straight down from the outside.  Sorry, but would you please redo the post?  And just a tip for futrue reference in any RP: Don't cover large events and time jumps without it being predetermined.

I see a bit of a deadlock: do people want there to be people in the conference room?


I'm seeing a few possibilities... all admittedly based around giving the group a goal to shoot for to avoid random wandering.

  • No one there! Lucky break! But notes are there about the layout of the base and where the data is stored and a mention of data extraction protocols that gives us a way forwards.

    Boogeys may or may not be just outside the room though.

[*]Emergency meeting on base defense is happening. They mention a transfer of forces to protect the data extraction effort on lower level whatever. Lucky break!

[*]Emergency telepresence meeting about getting the data disk extracted from the site safely. Person on our side mentions just exactly how the data is being taken off site, giving us a means forwards.

Honestly I'm good with whatever.  Just so long as the posts look fairly reasonable, and all of these do, I'm ok.  Also, glad to see you're back.

oh yeah cool thx @Shog also im thinkin that what danny thought was malfunctions was actually his suit tapping into his emotions and sensing how he feels how does that sound
 
So I was thinking.  Perhaps Whiplash could be captured at some point (this mission or a future one) leading the rest of you to the source.  Obviously I wouldn't want to wait around for a long time while you come up with an infiltration plan and all that, but what are your current thoughts on the subject?
 
Quick heads up, my responses will be quite spotty until sunday afternoon. Don't wait for me to respond, Cory'll just be going with the flow. If there's something that really needs a post, I'll try my best to check in over the next few days.
