Snow nodded and said “Thank you Julie. And don’t worry Harlow I have a day or so before I have to leave. I wish everyone could come but I know y’all have work. The next one though I want everyone there.” The group agreed with that statement and David said “Just let us know when. We’ll watch out for Julie while you’re gone don’t worry. She’s family after all.”

“Maybe on the next trip we’ll have two more tiny passengers joining us or two big bumps coming along.” I say with a laugh and Julie nods. I cuddle closer to you and I knew when you left I’d be emotional because I was already so attached to you and now I had the added hormones of pregnancy and I knew it would make me a cry baby.

Snow smiled and said “Our family is growing y’all.”

Of course when you left for the book signing I cried because I was a hormonal baby and the day you left is when my pregnancy symptoms started going crazy. I had horrible morning sickness and I was feeling constantly exhausted. I was busy with work for the past few days and I’ve gotten home and crashed. We had our first appointment when you came back from the book signing and from my calculations I was already two months pregnant and I got pregnant after our honeymoon. The day we spent together doing things all day definitely worked. I had a pregnancy app and I was tracking it. Julie and David had an appointment already and I was currently 9 weeks pregnant from what I’ve calculated and Julie was 13 weeks so she was only four weeks ahead of me. We were talking back and fourth about symptoms and showing our bumps. I had a tiny bump but it wasn’t nothing big. It was mainly bloated and Julie had a tiny bump too which was cute. We called ourselves bump buddies and we were working together today.

I was in the middle of doing something when I felt a cramp in my stomach and I excuse myself to go to the bathroom. I pull my pants down as I sit on the toilet and I realize I’m bleeding. My eyes become wide and I take a deep breath to not freak myself out. I come back from the bathroom and Julie can tell something is wrong. I tell her I’m bleeding with stomach cramps and she automatically drops what she’s doing. She grabs her stuff and tells me we’re going to the hospital. She told me to call you about it and so I called you on the way to the hospital.

Snow had just finished his last hour of book signing when she called. Once he was off the phone with her he called the person from the bookstore and told him he had to head home to check on his wife. The guy understood and set up a time for them to call in a couple days to arrange another book signing. Six hours later Snow walked into the hospital room to find Julie and Harlow talking.

We arrived at the hospital and I was check in pretty quickly. I got checked out to make sure everything was okay and they told me everything was fine. They checked the heartbeat just to see if it was still there and I was relieved but I told them I wanted to wait for you to come to see the ultrasound picture because I wanted us to experience the first look of our baby together. I wait for you to arrive and Julie was keeping me company. When I see you my face lights up and I smile happily. “I’m so sorry we made you come back. We were just really worried something bad happened. Our baby is fine and has a little heartbeat. The doctor said it was just something normal that happens in the beginning of pregnancy and the doctor confirmed that I’m 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant.”

Snow was relieved when he heard that. “I’m glad everything is okay. And don’t worry about it. I’m glad you called. I was pretty much done there for the time being anyway. They want to call me in a couple days.”

The nurse comes in and she sees you here. “She told me she wanted to wait for you to do the ultrasound and so I can perform it now.” She tells us and goes over to the machine. I moved my gown up and she turns the screen to us. She puts the wand on my belly and our baby pops up on the screen. I smile happily and I hold your hand.

Snow squeezed her hand gently and said “I still can’t believe we’re going to be parents. I can’t wait to meet our kid.”

I glance back at you and I squeeze your hand back. “I can’t believe it either. I love our little baby already and I can’t wait to meet them.” She plays the heartbeat for us and it fills the air. “Everything looks healthy on the ultrasound as well so you two are good to go home now.” She says to us and I nod smiling as she leaves.

Snow looked back at Harlow and asked, “you ready to go home sweetheart?” When she nodded he helped her off the bed and once she had gotten changed he drove her home. Julie had gone back to work as well so when they got home it was just them

I got out of the hospital bed and I get dressed back in my normal clothes without panties because I ruined those with blood. I walked out of the hospital with you and I say goodbye to Julie. Once we’re home I go upstairs to shower and once I’m done showering I come find you. “Did you see how adorable our little bean was?”

Snow smiled and said “Yeah I did. I can’t wait to hold our baby for the first time. The beginning of our brood of children..our family will be perfect my dear.” Just then he got a text from David saying that a customer had just walked into their store holding a copy of the “Great Separation”. Snow was happy that the books had gained such a popularity. He was kinda interested to see what people would say about his next book.

“I can’t wait to feel movement and watch my little belly grow. Our little family is just beginning and I can’t wait for it to grow.” I wrap my arms around your body and I close my eyes laying my head on your chest. I relax against your chest and I yawn softly. “I can’t wait to tell our families too but I think it’s best to wait until I’m out of the high miscarriage area which is 12 weeks because the percentages are really low at 12 weeks.”

Snow held her close and said “We’ll make it don’t worry. My mom has always wanted a grandchild. She’s going to be so excited when she finds out. What’re your parents going to say?”

When you asked about how my parents would react I just sigh a little bit and I glance up at you. “I don’t know how they’ll react but I’m hoping they’re excited. It won’t be their first grandchild unfortunately but it could be their first granddaughter because my brother has all boys so far.”

Snow smiled and said “I hope it is a girl. Which I know, it’s strange for me to want a girl first but I honestly do. But so long as its healthy I don’t mind what we’re having. When do you want to start thinking about names? We could wait till your third trimester or start deciding soon if you’d like.”

“You’ll be wrapped around her little finger.” I teased with a giggle and I nuzzle up to you. “I think after we figure out the gender we can discuss names because it’ll save us from coming up with two names and if we really fall in love with a name and it’s not the gender of the baby then I don’t want it to be a disappointment. Unless you don’t want to know the gender until it’s born. Is that what you want to do?”

Snow smiled and said “Yeah you’re right. I’ve always known that as soon as I had a daughter she’d become my whole world. And that’s fine by me. If you’d like to wait to find out the gender until our kid is born we can. But we should at least narrow it down to two names by the time they’re born. A boy name and a girl. That way we’re prepared.l

“I think that would be a nice surprise actually so let’s do that. Speaking of birth how are we doing this thing. I’ve always never been a fan of hospitals very much and I’ve always been interested seeing how a home birth would go. I think it would feel so comfortable and we don’t have any limitations.” I put that out there for you and I would be okay if you didn’t want to do that.
