Part 1: The First Victim
Just like every Friday night, Teddy Daniels was walking on one of the many steel bridges here in London. Today was a foggy day and a little rain started to fall from the sky, nothing usual really since this always was the weather in London. Rainy, depressive and boring. That's what the majority of people taught. This steel bridge was quite important for Teddy, not because this was one was the closest to his most favorite pub called 'The Young Queen' but because on this bridge, exactly 5 years ago, Teddy Daniels was proposed a job that will change his life. Indeed, the job which involved stealing a black Jaguar for some local British firm, pushed another job and then another and in this continuous loop of job after job, Teddy Daniels was offered to be the head of security for London's most gruesome, respected and wealthiest British firm: The Daniels Firm.
The Daniels Firm was led by Dan Daniels a.k.a 'The Doc' or 'Doc Dan' or 'Danny'. Dan Daniels was in fact the separated brother of Teddy Daniels and now they were reunited after such a long years of absence from eachother. Both grew in separate orphanages, both were criminals, both did time in the joint like criminals say, etc. Both lived same stylish lives but now they were finally together. The Daniels Firm was controlling everything in London, from any legal business to illegal business. Cops, judges, lawyers.. everyone was on their payroll. Teddy felt like he achieved something in his life. If his parents were there somewhere on the globe, they will be proud of what the Daniels Brothers became. However, everything changed this Friday night..
Just like every Friday night, Teddy was crossing this bridge to 'The Young Queen', the local pub for the gangsters of London. It was a routine for him, which made him really predictable. This bridge was not really popular and it was always calm, relaxing, the smell of the water nearby made Teddy smile, as he enjoyed his lifestyle. Being dressed in a gorgeous and expensive dark grey suit with a dark blue tie, a long sleeves white shirt, plus some perfectly tailored black shoes, the man's steps were soft on the brick-like road. He was wearing a dark grey trench coat with a fedora. Hands in his pockets, Teddy kept his green eyes observing his surroundings, his nostrils catching that same smell of the water nearby, enjoying this a lot.
Teddy eventually stopped. He arrived at half distance from the pub as he looked straight. What he saw.. Petrified him. Quite literally..Right in front of him, like directly from a horror movie, a man was standing on that same path. Black trenchcoat, black gloves, black shoes, black suit underneath no doubt, black fedora.. Yeah, all fine but it's the face that really caught the attention. Instead of a face, there was a mask. A white mask which seemed to be glued to the stranger's face, it seemed like that newcomer's mask was fresh white paint completely covering the man's true identity. Teddy gulped and truly, he could feel shivers travel through his spine. No.. It can't be.. Teddy managed to speak after his shocked stare."No.. You.. You're not real.. I'm--"
He couldn't finish his sentence as a modified M1911 bullet pierced Teddy's forehead perfectly. The shot was quiet since the barrel had a silencer. One perfectly placed shot. Teddy Daniels lifeless body dropped dead on his back on the cold road, while a really small pound of blood started forming underneath. The stranger has vanished, no witnesses, the perfect crime, right?
The next morning, a crowd of medics, police, analysts, all part of the London Police Department established a perimeter and begun working on the body and the surrounding clues. But there was none! No clues, not even a single hair dropped on the scene. Detective Robert Portman, popular for his unorthodox methods, his service in the British Special Forces, his 3 tours in secret undisclosed locations was called to the scene. Despite being 30 years old, the man was always in shape and was unmatched for his detective services. However, as Interpol's based agent in London, he was on the trace of The Daniels Firm for quite long and this murder would sparkle some chaos, that's for sure. Robert Portman's car, a black Audi R8, was parked on the bridge nearby the crime scene.
The man himself was already on the scene, inspecting the dead body of Teddy Daniels. Robert was a Caucasian male, well dressed in his flashy red polo, black silk pants and black city shoes, black sunglasses covering his blue piercing eyes, along with blue gloves to not infect the crime scene. He was well built, its muscles moving through its polo but despite this, his commitment could be seen to discover the murderer. His first clue was a modified bullet of a M1911 with the inscription in gorgeous golden italic engraved letters on it which read 'The Pro.' Dropping this bullet in a small plastic bag, he sighed, knowing this was going to be a dangerous mission. He heard stories of The Pro but he wanted to be sure before proceeding further.
In fact, he could discuss it with his new woman detective partner who had yet to arrive. Maybe two brains would work better than one? For the meantime, Robert stood next to the bridge railing, gazing at the morning weather, which was quite sunny actually. Robert's black short hair helped him protect his precious head, even if his ex-girlfriend always wanted him to be bald and have a beard. Robert had hair but no beard. How is this detail important? Not a clue. Robert was simply waiting, thinking about how to proceed further.
