Fantasy The Library Enactment

(( @Elle Joyner ))

Rowan smiled and punched his fist into the air as well. "Stand strong, library sister!"

Though the crash had startled him he couldn't help but feel happiness because he had met Arizona. It was funny he felt such opposite feelings at the same time; frustration and glee.

"I wonder if the librarian's heard the crash," he said as he started walking over, waiting for Arizona to follow. "It was rather loud."

Daisy felt a bit relieved that Alex wanted to go over there. She really did want to see what was going on, since everyone else seemed to be going ther as well. She gently tugged her hair out of its ponytail and let it hang loose in curls once more as she got up from her seat. She pridefully didn't like tying her hair up unless it was practically necessary. She slid her books into her bookbag and slung the straps over her shoulders. "Coincidentally, that's what my grandpa called me," she said to the 'Delly-duck' comment as she brushed past him, lying completely. She felt it was nice of him to make such a gentlemen gesture, though knew it was probably all in mockery.

She glanced back once more at the librarian, whose expression darkened further as the crowd started forming. I'd better watch out in case she lashes out, the girl thought cautiously. She looks ready to start yelling in the library, and no one can really stop her.

Clothes

Anabelle walked out the dance studio into the street. Her hair was pulled up into a messy bun, her ballet shoes tied to her duffel bag and beats blasting music into her ears. As she headed towards the library, she danced and received weird looks from people around her. She ignored them and let herself be absorbed into her own world.

When Anabelle entered the library, she immediately felt warmer and happier. As if the books surrounding her fed her endorphins an all you can eat buffet. She noticed there were some other people milling around and looking at books. She walked to the fiction section and started picking up books. When she had five books stacked up, she walked to a table and set them down. She had read all of the books, though this time she was using them for a bit of research. The Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Halfway to the Grave, Shadow Kiss, Shatter Me and The Fault in our Stars. She was making a collage of quotes from books she had adored to turn in as her art final project. Last time she was here, she had recorder all the book names and page numbers of the quotes. She took out her journal and her pen and flipped the first books pages and began writing.

Sometimes as she was reading some lines, Anabelle began reading the books, immersed herself in the words and worlds. Reaching the end of a chapter or song usually broke her out of her trance, but she felt like reading the books until she was finished. Though she hardly had enough time reading five books, so Anabelle tried her best to concentrate on the task at hand.

“And in the end, we can blame the stars or tell ourselves that it wasn’t meant to be, that it wasn’t destined to happen but deep down we know that the stars were not at fault and it wasn’t “meant to be.” The fault was in ourselves” – John Green (The Fault in our Stars). Anabelle finished the last sentence when she heard a loud crash, even above the waltz of Tchaikovsky. She lowered her headphones to her neck and looked at a section not far away and a bookshelf fallen. The librarian had a furious mask on and Anabelle almost laughed at this. The woman almost never went out of her desk. She was done with the books, so as she closed her journal, she decided to check out what was going on. When she got there she raised her eyebrows at the mess and started picking up some books and shelving them by the order. "Did you do this?" She asked the guy who was also putting books back in place.

As she stood and followed Rowan, she cast a look to the librarian and was nearly turned to ice by the woman's hateful glower, aimed in the direction of the fallen shelves. Already, another boy was righting what had fallen and was starting to replace the books when they arrived and Ari smiled, grabbing a book from the floor and locating where it belonged.

"What a mess..." She said, softly, reaching for another book pile, "Good thing no one was hurt."

She handed a few books to Rowan, before looking to the shelves again, "You never realize how many books the library has, till something like this happens. Oh! Lord of the Rings... I meant to check this out a few weeks ago."

Looking over at the other boy who was helping, she grinned politely, "I'm Arizona, by the way."

Ironically enough, while he had no issues with being a complete pain in the neck and very rarely catered to anyone if he could avoid it, Alex had managed to maintain, to some degree, a level of chivalry. His mother had taught him that, regardless of who she was, he was always to treat women with respect and it had stuck...

"Well then, your grandpop must be a brilliant, handsome and exceedingly bright man. Glad we have so much in common." He grinned and as she passed by him, he caught the subtle whiff of her shampoo, taking a deep breath. It wasn't at all an unpleasant scent... nothing too flowery or perfumed. Nice.

When they arrived at the scene of the accident, Alex whistled, shaking his head, "Looks like a train hit the stacks... Anyone know who did it? Pretty messed up, running off like that."

Daisy couldn't help but make a face at Alex's comment. "Not that much in common," she muttered, deciding that perhaps it was better to keep the snarkiness down when around other strangers; not everyone was tolerant to rudeness. She didn't even remember much about her grandpa, but decided to along with her white lie. Lying came so easily sometimes that it scared her; they just slipped out one after the other. As she approached the scene with Alex, a few books were still on the ground. Absentmindedly, she picked up two books and gracefully put them back into their correct spot without much hesitation after straightening up the pages from the impact. She disliked it when books were bent out of shape from either age or misuse; she preferred when they were brand new and clean. She had expected everything to be cleaned up, but perhaps not.

She heard Alex whistle and comment, as well as a few of them getting acquainted over the fallen books. "I'm more worried about the librarian, who looks like she's going to make sure we die horrible deaths," she said pessimistically, shooting a quick glance to make sure the librarian still looked angry. Yep. She did.

Jessie had been reading quietly in a corner watching the other kids socialize. When one of the less aesthetic kids dropped a book shelf ,he immediately rushed over "These poor books " he exclaimed beginning to clean them up and put them back

Jake smiled as a group began to congregate around the shelf. He didn't recognize most faces that were gathering around, but it was nice to finally see some people actually worried about the old books. He smiled at the group as they arrived, exchanging smiles with some specific people. He noticed that a few people were talking to him trying to see what happened. One girl in particular had asked him if he did this. He looked to her with a charming smile. "No, I didn't. Honestly, I don't know who did. They ran off before anyone could really see who it was. My name is Jake by the way." He said to the group. "Nice to meet all of you." He hugged his books tight to his side as he skimmed through the saddened faces of the group.

Hayley bent down to help gather the books up, staying out of the others way as she started to arrange them in a pile. She noticed the others crowding round doing similar tasks and it made her smile. It was obvious that they cared about books as much as she did, and it was nice to see. What wasn't so nice was the librarian storming over looking beyond angry.

"What happened here?" the elderly woman asked, looking from person to person trying to find the guilty party. "You people ought to have more respect for books than that," she snapped.

Hayley looked up and tried to explain that it was an accident but the librarian wouldn't hear any of it.

She glared down at Hayley as she interrupted her, and rolled up the sleeves of her beige knitted cardigan. She couldn't be older than her late 60's, but she acted as if she were at least 10 years older. Her glasses were perched on top her her grey streaked hair, and her bright blue eyes began to scan the children again. "Clear this up," she said simply and began to walk back to her desk, muttering about teaching each of the 'troublemakers' about respecting books.

"Is it me or is this lady crazier than a someone hacked up on tracker jacket venom " Jessie laughed snorting at the book reference. He fished putting his books in a neat pile looking at the other's doing the same. He smiled a bright toothy smile

Hayley laughed at the joke. "That's a good one," she said smiling brightly. "I'm Hayley," she said, introducing herself. She brushed a lock of dark hair behind her ear nervously as she picked up a book that had slid underneath the shelf.

((@Sea - Sorry - I wrote this last night, but apparently it didn't send X_X))

Alex watched the group, crossing his arms, certain there were already enough cooks in he kitchen. Besides, there was no sense in jumping in to organize the books when the librarian was likely to just come and redo them, herself,. And speaking of the librarian, Ale had also noticed her sour expression and smirked a bit at Delilah's remark, shaking his head.

"Nah. I don't think she's angry... that's pretty much how she usually looks. Unless she just doesn't like me, which... well, yeah, I guess that's a possibility. But anyway, it's not like we knocked it over, and most of it's cleaned up, anyhow."

But as the woman rose from her desk something in Alex... perhaps the will to liver... drove him to begin gathering books, himself.

"Jessie" hecsaid warmly. Jessie held the books tight against his chest and then held out his hand for the girl to shake "It's very nice to meet you"

Hayley shook it, smiling at him sweetly. "Nice to meet you too," she said shyly. She bent down and picked a pile of books up, setting them on a nearby table.

He almost felt guilty, stood at the side watching them work bit he shook his head as she shook his hand. He could see the librarian was going to shout and he didn't want to be there when she did so he tried to slink away towards another shelf

Rowan took the books Arizona had handed him and examined them for any signs of wear or tear. Only one of the books had a scratch from the fall, but Rowan knew he couldn't fix it at that moment. He quickly remembered the title, placed the books back and vowed to come back later to fix it. That is, if the librarian ever calmed down.

"It is odd how many books can fit into such a small space," he agreed with Arizona before he picked up one of the last books and read the title.

"Lord of the Flies," he read aloud. "I haven't read this in ages."

Seeing that the work was done for the most part, he sat on the ground, leaned against the back of the book cart, and opened the book up, beginning to read. That was Rowan for you; he could read ten different books at the same time and not get confused. He could also read anywhere, which served helpful at times.

****The librarian returned to her desk and pulled out a large dusty book from under her desk. She flipped through it quickly, searching for the page she wanted. Stopping she pulled her glasses down from her forehead and began to chant loudly. The books began to move of their own accord, flying up into the air. They flew open, the pages flicking back and forth as more books joined them. Golden sparks seemed to be sparking off the pages onto the skin of everyone. The librarian watched in amusement as the books began to move faster and faster, up towards the ceiling as the sparks began to shower down like a fountain. She laughed as one by one, they disappeared going into the book.****

Joe gasped as he watched them disappear, he saw Hayley vanish and let out a cry running towards where she was "Hayley? Hayley?" He fell to the floor, crying as he himself vanished

Rowan heard the chanting and looked up in confusion. It wasn't often that he wasn't focused on reading, but his mind was still alert from the crash. He saw the others, and noticed Joe crying. He was about to ask what was wrong when Joe disappeared altogether! Rowan's eyes widened in shock as he stood up.

"What's going on?" he asked, moving toward the spot where Joe had been. He felt himself growing lighter until he could only see the faint outline of his shirt.

The book dropped from Rowan's hands as he began to disappear. He was sure the librarian would yell at him for dropping the book, but he couldn't help it. As he looked over, he saw content on her face. He raised his eyebrow in confusion but too soon he too was gone into the book.

Daisy knew something was wrong the second the librarian took off her glasses. Librarians never took off their glasses, because they were most likely reading glasses and librarians liked reading. She was even more bewildered when the librarian started chanting. She was confused and scared when the books began to fly around, as if by the magical chanting done by the librarian. "Oh...so she's a witch," she whispered quietly, mostly to herself. "My parents never warned me about this." Adding humor to a situation was not what she did for other people; it was what she did to help herself keep up a facade. She was honestly really freaked out by now and felt that her cool headed mask was slowly slipping away with her sanity. She stared at the books as they flew and danced towards the ceiling, levitating higher and higher. She wanted to leave and run and never come back to this kooky library, but something made her stay where she was, as if the dancing books captivated her in their odd, entrancing rustles.

The shower of sparkling light rained down on her and the others. It was almost like a scene from a movie, like when Tinkerbell threw fairy dust on the children. Each glittering spark that hit her left a cool, blissful sensation. It was calming and frightening, like a magical warning that something was about to happen to her. She doubted the librarian lived to make the world sparkle. She saw the others beginning to disappear and her heart skipped a beat. This wasn't death, was it? Before she could ponder anymore, she felt a lighted headed and saw herself slowly becoming transparent until the library disappeared into darkness. Her last thought was that she was going to hypothetically kill whoever knocked over those books.

Jessie sighed as his body began to here lighter and disappear "Not again " he whined as he was sucked up into the book

Johnathan was really taken by surprise by the loud shifting of books and the Librarians insistent chanting. He was so surprised, he tripped over his own feet and fell against the wall. The sparks that rained down from the sky were almost blinding and he could hardly see the others beside him. One by one they began to disappear, almost into thin air, and this worried John so much, that he tried to get up and run out of the library. But he couldn't move now. The sparks swirled around him and he could feel himself lessening in weight. His body began to fade away like a memory, and soon, there was nothing left. Darkness followed, as did silence.

Jake was one of the only ones that had been watching the Librarian far before this. He watched as she sat and studied each movement trying to diffuse her intention. But, this elderly women was hard to read and Jake got a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach when the Librarian took off her glasses. He turned to Hayley and was going to say, "Hey, let's get out of here. I have a bad feeling about this." But, as fate would have it, he didn't have the time. Before he knew it, the library was in full chaos and it seemed to be originating from that old Librarian. He wanted to desperately get his friends to safety, but he to was restricted and stripped of his movement. Not to long after, his body was gone and only his thoughts remained.

She'd been about to respond to Rowan, the book in her hand sliding onto the shelf when she heard the shouting and suddenly, with her heart plummeting into her stomach she spun to see abject chaos around her. She tried to run... tried to scream... tried anything but standing there like a complete moron, her chin on the floor, but she couldn't seem to make the connection from her brain to her mouth or feet.

This wasn't right. This was the library... The librarian was a bit pinched and angry, but this... this was over the top. This was insane. It wouldn't register... couldn't register what was actually happening. All she could think what just how incredibly wrong it was.

The book dropped from her hands and with a tearful gasp, she watched as her body began to fade, one limb at a time and then finally... there was nothing...

"What the hell!"

For all the jokes, for all the smart alec comments he could dish out, Alex had absolutely nothing resonating in his mind during the scene of terror beyond fear, and he didn't like it. It was like a bad dream, and for a moment he wondered if he wasn't actually sleeping. But it wasn't a dream... it was real, and he couldn't stop it from happening.

His gaze snapped to Delilah as she began to disappear and when he reached for her, he noticed his own hand faded. He yelled... he swore... he said things he was sure his mother would slap him for...

And then... there was only silence.

Zoey heard some weird noise and looked around, people start disappearing. At this point she was freaking out then when she look at her own hands, she noticed they start to disappear into nothing too. She yelled, asking for help, but none came. She thought she was imagining this, people don't just start disappearing in the middle of the day! Her thoughts were screaming at her from every direction and her vision starting to become blurry, then there was nothing. The library was gone, the bookshelves, the books in the library, the people, the chairs, the tables, all disappeared in front if her eyes and there was nothing.

(Sorry I didn't get any notifications for this and just checked the thread now)

"That sucks. I'm Anabelle" She said with a smile to Jake as she stacked more books. As the librarian came close and snapped at the group, Anabelle stifled down a laugh. She had hardly ever seen the old woman move or even recognize someone, now she had done both. She bit her lip and ordered more books to not giggle, if not the librarian could get even madder.

The books were almost done being shelved so Anabelle stepped back from the cluster. Then she noticed the librarian pick up a book and flip through some pages. The girl furrowed her brows when the librarian started muttering. Then things started to get even weirder. What kind of bad mojo was the old woman doing? Anabelle looked around and saw the other kids disappearing, then she disappeared herself.

(I feel terrible for doing this, but I'm gonna start the story. Because otherwise I'll probably be waiting forever for the others to all post...)

As the library disappeared around our heroes, they found themselves being sent to a world much different from their own. Full of princes, dwarves and magic that they only read about in storybook's. But now they get to live out their own story, through the lives of other characters.

FAIRYTALE_CASTLE_Wallpaper_sf4hu.jpg

What happens next is completely up to them, but as they wake up around the land several things seem to be embedded in their minds.

Follow the story to freedom.... Injuries remain.... Fail and you are trapped forever....

A beautiful queen sat sewing by her window in the middle of winter, when the snowflakes were falling like feathers. She pricked her finger as she worked, and three red drops of blood fell on the black ebony wood of the window frame and on the white snow below.

"I wish for a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and hair as black as ebony," she sighed.

And as it happened. She had a little girl with skin as white as snow, with lips as red as blood and with hair as black as ebony. Her parents called her Snow White. But only a few days after her birth, her mother died.

Her father, the king, had truly loved his queen, but he needed a mother for Snow White, so he searched for

a second wife.

He married a princess whose face was lovely as summer, but her heart was cold as ice and she worked dark

magic. She was so vain that she could not bear to think that anyone could be more beautiful than she was. When she came to the palace, the only thing she brought was a mirror in a golden frame.

Each night, she whispered:

"Mirror, mirror, on the wall,

Who is the fairest one of all?"

And the mirror would answer:

"You, O Queen, are the fairest one by far!"

This made the new queen very happy, for she knew that the mirror could not lie. She preened herself in front of the glass and smiled in satisfaction.

But Snow White grew more and more beautiful every year until, one day, when she was seven, her wicked

stepmother asked her usual question, to which the mirror gave a different reply.

It was on this night that our heroes landed, each falling into their own character's bodies.

((If you still don't know who you are, click here.))

Hayley opened her eyes and groaned as the sunshine burst into her eyes through the trees. Although she loved sun as much as the next person, but not when she was just waking up. It felt like it was burning through her skull. It was then that she realised that she hadn't been surrounded by trees when she'd blacked out. She'd been in the library. She flipped over in a panic and tried to stand, only to wobble and fall backwards. She looked down to see that her pale skinny human body was gone and had been replaced with fur and a tail. She shrieked. "Oh my god, I'm a freakin' rabbit? I've got to be dreaming right?" she said to herself, looking around quickly. She spotted a river a few steps away and did her best to hop over to it. Splashing water onto her face and thought about pinching herself to wake up. That was until she realised that she didn't have any thumbs. Looking around again, she searched for anyone she recognised and that's when she saw them.
