[Faerie Childe]

Name: Artemis "Art" Meade

Alchemist Title: The Polarity Alchemist

Background: Art Meade decided they were going to rule the world the day after their parents died because East City hadn't properly funded it's firemen for decades. The way little 12 year old Art saw it, they couldn't be less qualified than the current powers that be. They went to live with a family friend, Madame Christmas, but spent far more time in the local library, reading what little useful history they were allowed access to. When that research suggested peaceful revolutions rarely work, they started looking for an alchemy teacher.
Master (Master Hawkeye replacement) had made his name redesigning the trains of Amestris to run without coal. Art expected it to be difficult to convince him to take on an apprentice. In actuality, they mentioned the idea to the Madame one night and she (likely ecstatic that the child was finally interested in something monetizable) got the 16 year old Art the apprenticeship in a month. They knew better than to ask how.
Master (Master Hawkeye replacement) taught them a lot over the years - but nothing violent. He was of the belief that violence created more problems than it solved, and combat was the most disgusting possible use of alchemy. Art agreed with the second statement, but was too ambitious to give credence to the first. So, after three years, a 19 year old Art left their master behind to seek out the (Kimblee replacement). This brought them to the State Alchemist program, and the Ishvalan War of Extermination.
Art (now known as the Polarity Alchemist) learned to kill quickly under (Kimblee replacement). Their master's technique of moving electrons to ionize (and magnetize) objects was honed into a deadly weapon of battlefield control. Much harder than killing was convincing themself that everything they did was necessary, that someday, when they killed the Fuhrer and rebuilt Amestris, it would all be worth it.

Personality: Art Meade tries very hard to feign belonging in high society. They have taught themself to enjoy fine dining, fashion, and social etiquette - though they are known to be an incorrigible gossip. They do everything possible to keep the "street rat" rumors from popping up. When the mask is down, Art is a mixture of calculation, ambition, ego, and a frenzied need to prove themself a good person. They give charity constantly, do small kindnesses for their office underlings, anything that won't get in the way of their grand plans. They have a loyal team now, who believe as their child self did that when Art takes power, things will improve. But as time goes on, they have begun to doubt it themself.

  Description:
  "No matter how many times I do this...I still don't have boobs."
  The first, and most obvious, part of Angel's appearance is that she's obviously very masculine. She's not transgender by any means, the thought that her body is anything less than perfect has never crossed her mind, but she has wondered why she was made with a completely flat chest. Had Father been trying to design her as a boy? Did he not balance the elements properly? Was it for stealth reasons? If Angel felt self conscious about her body, these might've been questions she asked, but being handsome rather than cute doesn't bother her one bit.
  
  Angel is tall, standing taller than most women, with a physical build that could be described as "average". She has mildly wavy black hair, that she's let grow down to her shoulders, and piercing red eyes. While not noticeable if you're not looking for it, her upper k-nines are also somewhat long, giving her the appearance of a stereotypical vampire. Regardless, there's nothing that truly sets her apart from the average human, even lacking the Ourobouros mark that her younger siblings would have.
  
  Personality:
  As the oldest of the Homunculi, one might expect Angel to be the most mature...Except, she's not. While she has no lack of confidence and seems smarter than any teenager has any right to be, these two traits have made her stubborn and outright immature at times. Convinced she always knows what's best, at the very least. As the prototype for the rest of the Homunculi, she embodies not only her own sin, but most of the others perfectly, too. She's known to be lazy, flirts with anybody that catches her eye, will eat absurd amounts of food she likes, and in battle can be quite brutal. In the past, she might've also gotten jealous easily, but at this point she seems to have scrubbed that entire part of her personality away because of an incident between her and Envy. In terms of greed... beyond wanting every cute stuffed animal she sees, that sin also isn't too prevalent.
  
  That isn't to say that she doesn't have good traits to her personality. In terms of embodying her sin, that's a more subtle part of her personality, at this point. She's easily the one of the ones that blends in with humanity the best, being social, cheerful, and extroverted. She can't even tell if this is all an act or not anymore, as she's grown so used to being around humans that it's easier to carry on acting like she's truly one of them.
  
  Around her siblings, a different part of her tends to show, though. Cunning, cruel, ruthless...Those are all parts of her, too, even if she can resist the urge to act on those impulses most of the time. Perhaps it's because she doesn't need to worry about any of her siblings breaking as easily as a human, or perhaps it's because they're her siblings rather than "everyone else". She's supposed to be their big sister, so petty fights with them are normal, even if the form that normalcy takes around them would be deadly for most people.
  
  Notably, despite her personality being one that easily blends in with humans, her behavior comes off as eccentric, to put it lightly. While her affinity for small, enclosed spaces could be written off as just a personality quirk most of the time, it starts becoming hard to justify when she's in the vents or a kitchen cabinet instead of a dog create or under a desk. This isn't even the only odd thing about her, it's just the most obvious. As the sin of Pride, she's absolutely convinced that her way of doing things is the right way, regardless of what most other people say, and getting her to change her behavior is near impossible.
  
  History:Yeah I'll work on this with...the other Homunculi.
  
  When Furher Glockner had started dating his future wife, he requested Pride revert her physical form to that of a five year old, to pose as his daughter. Pride...wasn't fond of this idea, considering the process of letting her body mature again to be "a massive pain", considering she only has the ability to reverse aging and not to accelerate. If he failed to get hitched, she was totally going to be the only one suffering the consequences of his decision. And who picks a wife based on her not fearing him, anyway? Why was the only option having her as his wife instead of an enemy? She bet he was just a masochist. Regardless, he could only claim to be a single father for so long before his girlfriend would want to meet his "daughter", so before long Pride decided to listen to his request.
  
  That day, her identity as "Angel Glockner" was born. A young girl who was going to start her first year of school when summer ended, who started spending time in the military base her dad worked at because she wanted to spend more time around "daddy" and less time with babysitters. An extremely social child, who loved interacting with the adults around her and would get the State Alchemists to show her how their alchemy works. A fraud, vigilantly studying each and every person's talents to figure out how to most easily subdue them, hiding behind a pair of sparkling red eyes and a cute appearance.

  Powers:
  Age Manipulation- Angel is capable of reversing her own aging, though accelerating it is impossible for her. Reverting back to a child-like body is easy, but afterward she grows at a completely normal human rate, until she hits adulthood where her body stops changing, like the other homunculi. She's had to do this for a few reasons throughout her life, and no matter how many times she goes through puberty it never becomes any better. This power, in general, is not very useful.
  
  While her memories stay intact and her personality remains mostly unchanged, her maturity does seem to fluctuate to a degree. Perhaps because of how hormones affect her mood.
  
  Shadow Manipulation- Angel can manipulate her shadow as an extension of her own body, similar to how Pride can in the anime. Unlike in the anime, these aren't her true body- Her true body is her human form. Rather, as long as she casts a shadow, she can extend her physical form through it as tendrils that...work the same as in the anime. Sharp teeth and all. The teeth are sharp even before eating gluttony because I don't even know if she'll be eating him or if the Homunculi will survive. I'm personally hoping to derail the plot and that the Homunculi will survive because I like playing sibling relationships.

  Envy, sibling- Angel's relationship with Envy could be described as rocky, with Angel having a particular disdain for them after what could graciously be referred to as a "prank" by Envy ended with her hanging from a noose, unable to breathe but also unable to die from something as mild as suffocation, because Angel had stolen their significant other. Despite that event being a rather extreme form of torture from a human point of view (and the view of Angel's lungs), the strain this left on their relationship seems more akin to siblings that argue a lot. Still, given the opportunity, Angel would shove their head in a bathtub full of water without any hesitation. Perhaps she'd even put some soap in there first.
  
  "Mom"/"Mama"- Angel will switch between what she calls her "mother", depending on her mood. Even if Angel can acknowledge that their relationship is fake, just a result of Father's mission, she's developed an undeniably affection for her mother. The years they's spent together should just be another blink in the eyes of somebody over 300 years old, yet it seems like the presence of proper parental affection has made an actual impact on Angel's life.

  "The cutest Alchemist in the army, at your service!"
  Gabriel's primary concern in life seems to be radiating adorableness, if his refusal to wear a uniform and instead adorn himself in anything he deems "cute" is anything to go off of. He's small, rendering the top shelf only a dream of his, with light pink hair and bright green eyes.
  
  Automail:
  Michael's right arm is automail, after losing it in the Ishvalan war. It has an alchemy circle etched into the back of it. He has a glove that's roughly the same colour as his skin to hide it, and he generally wears long sleeves, so he doesn't have to see his arm. He's not ashamed of his automail arm, but he doesn't like the reminder what happened in Ishval.

  Still rips his shirt off when excited. The aura he gives off when preparing to hug people is terrifying. Michael is known to be a kind, caring individual, who's adopted a cute demeanor that he carries through every part of his life.
  
  History:
  A soldier, a young State Alchemist, a living weapon, and a child drafted into a civil war. Those words best describe the point where Michael's life started to become notable. Hailing from a family with an alchemic form passed down through the generations, Michael, standing only 4'5" tall and with little understanding of what war truly entailed, was drafted into the Ishvalan civil war at only 14 years old. He was tested as a State Alchemist, and quickly certified, demonstrating his family art tremendously.
  
  Looking back, Michael wishes he'd better understood what he was being dragged into. If he'd failed the certification on purpose, he probably wouldn't have been kept as a soldier, as he'd been caught in a draft targetting Alchemists. Yet, he was naive and caught up in the propoganda that he'd be protecting people and that fighting for Amestris was something to be proud of.
  
  Learning what it means to actually take another human's life, especially the lives of innocent civilians, is something he wishes he could forget. Protecting people from those that want to bring them harm, that takes it's own psychological toll, but facing the reality that he was the person he'd initially thought he was saving people from...Is something he can't seem to recover from. Interrogation, torture, and so many other things he had to participate in weren't things a 14 year old should've been part of.
  
  Especially when his attempt to save two innocent women ended in another Alchemist killing them in front of him. After that, Michael suffered a mental breakdown the next time he was expected to fight, and he lost his right arm and almost his life as a result of it.
  
  He doesn't blame people who left the military due to no longer wanting to be a human weapon. Michael, it would seem, had been so broken he didn't know what else to do with his life. During the time it took him to fully recover from the loss of his arm and having it replaced with an automail one, he didn't feel like he could fit in anywhere else. Interacting with anyone other than children had become hard. He failed tremendously at any other job he tried.
  
  At the age of nineteen, still smaller than 5' tall, Michael returned to his position as a State Alchemist, though not to the Ishvalan War.
