Yeah, I kinda know that I gave it too little time, but I think I won’t be able to adjust my character the way you advised without losing the main concept, so I guess I’ll have to drop this. Good luck guys.

  Appearance

  A rather limber seeming man, Orrossant has exactly the kind face you can trust. Almost always with a smirk or smile in some way, and a set of tired looking eyes this man at a glance seems entirely laid back however when given something to peak his attention his eyes brighten up with thought and intrigue. On the darker side of an olive skin tone the man isn't too bad to look at which assuredly he uses to his advantage. A roman nose, freckles across his cheeks and large eyebrows marked with a line or two of scarred tissue where follicles no longer grow denote a sun-kissed face marked by an experienced life thus far... but not particularly hardened by it. His hair is a deep black with broad curls that is swept back from his forehead but hangs loosely and dishevelled everywhere else on his head. With sideburns and a goatee the man looks anything but professional but again... at least he isn't hard to look at if you enjoy someone a bit on the easy-going side.
  
  His shoulders and shoulder blades are covered with deep black tattoos of oblong but angular shapes that interlock together like scales of a cracked, metamorphic plane of rock and considering how much he likes sleeveless clothing these markings are very much on display as they crawl down towards his bicep. He claims to have no other tattoos but his legs from the knees up to his waist are encircled by a spiraling tattoo of black thorns- though he will try to deny the existence of these markings where-ever possible.
  
  His casual clothing is a bit more opulent than one might expect of such a seemingly casual man, wearing fabrics of deep reds, oranges, golds and mauve's his entire ensemble will often reek of an air of nobility, class and possibly a hint of the exotic to those unfamiliar with the airy, loose clothing styles of Edana.
  
  When it comes to outfits where he needs to be a bit more protected his look becomes far more muted in colors, dark blues with black accents and while still worn fairly airy they will be much more kept tighter and heavier to his person as to prevent a stray hand from grabbing him in places where he tries to make an escape. These fabrics are also notably made to resist heat, electrical currents and were he fully covered properly (remember, sleevless) it does a find job of protecting him from the cold. He will almost always wears a combination of high ballistic impact armored vest (which he now is happy to have access to with military resources) coupled with a chain shirt underneath the top layer as well as some light leather and hard plastic additions that pass as armor on his knees, elbows and shoulders and a single thick, insulated leather glove on his non-dominant, parrying-sided hand to prevent glanced blows or stray elemental magic from catching him off guard. The protection from what he wears seems to favor weighting at the back as any attack he can see coming he at least as chance to get out of the way... but sneak attacks? He knows full well that one needs as much protection from those as possible- otherwise his armor is rather lacking to prevent an inhibition of his flexibility and movement.
  
  
  He much prefers many smaller pouches and pockets, attached to belts and bandoliers to single larger packs with everything he'd ever need in them, thus he travels light. His belt has his daggers sat on either side of his hips appropriate to which hand will be using which dagger and small fabric loops to hold small glass vials filled with different colored liquid he seems to always want access to as well as a few zipper pouches along the same belt and a secondary bandolier which crosses diagonally across his chest.
  
  He walks with a saunter, and sometimes more stringent folk might consider him a constant drunkard with how his speech sometimes slurs out with an almost constant smug lilt to it but what is likely his most striking feature is his hair. In most cases it is in fact just a normal head of (what he'd call luxurious) hair, this man however has been touched by the aspects of fire somewhere in his life and his body reacts accordingly. When caught thinking through hard scenarios or constructing a complex plan the tip of ever strand of hair will begin to glow as if danced over by a flame- it's not burning, there is no God awful smell of burning hair but the embers are there. The more excited, passionate or... shocked into fear the man is the less his hair will appear as plain locks and the more immolated his head will become until a literal plume of fire dancing over his scalp is all that is left. It produces light as a normal fire but it is nowhere near hot enough to ever burn. The man seems to have some vague control over it in the way one might control the redness of their face when angry by trying to calm down, or the shaking in their hands by trying to bolster their confidence- that is to say not much. It is an odd trait sure, but he'd never considered it particularly in the way, it helped be a conversation starter at least... though whatever principalities had their influence within Orrossant they must be wild and untamed like the fire itself.

  Personality

  Personable, flirtatious, optimistic and laid-back, you’d think this man would make an awful soldier at a glance, and while this is actually fairly true he puts on an amazing act to the contrary. He doesn’t so much have a disdain for government organizations as much as a lack of respect for that which inhibits his freedoms; though he has his reasons for ‘wanting’ to join. Religious organizations? Those are ones he might more openly poke fun of for their willingness to put trust into things he sees as unreal and impotent. Orrossant believes wholly in the power of the individual and one’s own abilities to adapt and overcome to obstacles: the strength of hard work. As such he is quick witted, shockingly resilient but probably too mercurial and capricious for his own good.
  
  At least he's good at pretending he's not.
  
  In addition he is above all else a con-man, a thief and an inveigler; trust him only as far as you can throw him if you only used a single finger to do so. He cares about a lot of things but almost all of those things are self-aggrandizing, hiding his true intentions beneath layers of machinations it can difficult to tell exactly what he’s thinking - unless instant gratification presents itself, in which case his mind then becomes rather one tracked. It wouldn’t be an incorrect assumption to think that maybe he himself wasn’t entirely certain of why he is the way he is, purposefully keeping himself at an arm's length from genuine emotion and relationships have since ended up muting his own understanding of himself. He does however have a good amount of understanding of the world outside himself to make up for it, he knows a handful of languages [literally only two] and has a penchant for collecting unique magical artifacts… in fact he’d much rather take an interesting bauble of insignificant power than triple the money that item might be worth, as such he can be quite the hoarder of things unique and magically potent- he is far less of an expert on these things than he will ever claim to be though.
  
  Due to his almost chronically compulsive lying streak the man has slowly weaned down his capability to keep his own stories straight without the help of a little black book he refuses to let out of his sight. Assuredly without said book he would be incapable of keeping plans, and goes into an absolute panic whenever he doesn’t have it on hand. This does however make him much more amenable than he’ll ever admit- it’s just if those orders directly conflict with what he wants at that very moment he will shrug them off without hesitation and follow through with his own whims. This has gotten him in trouble before with various authority figures over him but he has yet to meet a situation where things haven’t worked out fine for him.

  Occasionally scatterbrained and suffering from an undiagnosed but very real case of long-term memory loss, he has gathered so many fake names and titles in his travels and escapades that he quite blatantly has since grown fuzzy on which of them was his birth name and isn’t entirely sure how much of the past he ‘remembers’ is real or of his own construction. The good news however is that he is more worried about the present than the past and the future… at least that is what he tells himself. In honesty (which he is very bad at) he likes to keep himself occupied with whatever presents itself, as otherwise he dwells on what he sees as a lack of a real identity as a person and on a lack of meaningful connection to his history and others around him.
  
  
  Orrossant is a man of contradictions to be sure, he lies to everyone around him but no one falls for it more than himself. He values hard work and the power of his individuality but prefers to take the easier route of keeping himself occupied with pleasures and plans than to perform any meaningful introspection while maintaining a shocking amount of personas between these plans. He is a truly skilled socialite but does everything in his power to keep others at an arms length in order to get what he wants from people and the world around him. He hates the feeling of not being in control but actively puts his fate in the hands of other things and reaches far beyond the scope of what he might be able to reasonably control, a black journal perhaps.​

  Brief Bio:
  Orrossant’s early life is more or less a blur to him, dulled by his formative years being soaked in skullduggery, hedonism and a few more violent encounters than he’d care to admit he’d lost. There are a few things he does remember however, he had an older sister, and his mother was a holy woman. A woman who had taken an archaic vow of celibacy to her God who she broke for the man that was his father; a man who had left the family behind when Orrossant was far too young to recollect what he even looked like.
  
  Faced with a mother who blamed her own children for their father leaving Orrossant had to learn to face the world with both mistrust and a happy face lest others try to take advantage of him or think he’s up to no good. He left his sister and mother behind at a young age and from then on the man would claim he had a good life, not an easy one... but a good one.
  
  He spent his time working with gangs and guilds who would have him in his home city of Edana- far outside the scope of villages getting destroyed and innocents getting torn apart by monsters- just hardly able to keep himself out of the gutter for a long while, he only finally ended up striking ‘rich’ when a particular con he was running made him a sizeable haul of cash. This same con however ended up screwing over a particularly powerful man on Orrossants side of the tracks, as such he had to start keeping a slew of fake personas but none of them seemed to keep him hidden in Edana for very long, so he had to skip town and start again with whatever cash and possessions he could carry. This pattern continued, the man targeting any organization he could worm his way into whether it was official or not and eventually leaving an area with a bag full of whatever valuables he could when his threads-of-deceit unraveled due to enough scatterbrained mis-steps.
  
  Now, after so many years of this running around, he was still so young, sat on a brink of needing to make a run for the last bastion his influence hadn’t touched, Lumen, a land of law of pride. However, for the first time in a long time he’d run out of people to call on to get him in to where he could set up… shop. It was only be fluke and a careful ear that the man was reminded of something very tangible he could dig his claws in to. The military. However with a lack of a real name and hardly any papers it would likely be the hardest challenge he’d face to wiggle his way into. Sure he’d have to handle the strict training for a time but maybe a something to keep his sleep schedule in check might do some good for his mind and body- on the way he’d told himself all kind of opportunities he could have in such a military- maybe seduce a high-ranked official and honey pot them? Maybe find the edges of some corrupt conspiracy and blackmail those involved? The truth of the matter is the young man was in fact… starting to run out of places to hide.
  
  It turns out faking papers wasn’t the hard part, the training wasn’t either, his experience with the seedy underworld of a land so filled with magic and strife had prepared him for these trials- and in fact he’d surprised even himself with how well he performed against some obstacles- but the real hard part was the waiting patiently and [mostly] obediently for some kind of opportunity to show itself. Though like always he’d find something eventually, he didn’t actually know what it was, but it sounded important. The ‘Council Vangaurd’ was what it was called - once more he had a target- and only after making sure his name was in the running [the shmoozing he’d done with whatever higher-up he could get into contact with helped with this.] that he’d actually found out what he was in for. He wasn’t actually all that disappointed [at first, he only later realized he was going to have to deal with this ‘monsters’ he’d hardly had any dealings with] and it’s not like the rest of these military meat heads couldn’t use his skills anyhow. Of course, through all the roles he’s played in his life thus far he has yet to try playing the part of a ‘hero’, and this possibility excited him. Who knows, maybe he can make something out of this opportunity too, it would not be like him to not try. Though… they could fail because someone far more qualified was replaced by himself in the vangaurd, and if they do and the lights go out? Well… he comforted himself with the thought that at least it’s easier to hide in the dark.

  Orrossant works best with a twin pair of daggers he’d procured through his travels, one meant for doing the real damage and one designed specifically to help him parry. These daggers have a slight magical aura so insignificant that he doesn’t even know it’s there… however a proficient enough magic user might be able to pick up on the latent energies- maybe something powerful is hidden in these weapons. He is proficient with firearms but doesn’t come into this journey with one- too loud.
  
  Skills:
  Orrossant, as we know, is a notable liar but in fights he is also an incorrigible taunt for better and worse, using his formulas to help bolster his already tactically charged combat styles a person of his skill set needs. He also has some proclivity to the art of escaping bonds, able to dislocate some bones in his body and perform acts of contortion- though the range and usefulness of this skill is limited.

Botbook , Orrossant is finally ACCEPTED! Welcome to the Council Vanguard! A very quirky addition who will make Morgan's life all the more challenging. I imagine her getting wound up over Orrossant's flippancy towards authority. I could also see him aligning himself with Kaiden, but not putting any effort towards befriending anyone in the Vanguard.

In the interest of the plot, please don't post until I say you can. We're in the middle of the first fight and it has been established each member currently involved are the only members of the Vanguard. However, you will be able to literally join the unit soon.
