Fantasy The Land Of The Rising Sun (OOC Chat)

Kloudy Kloudy Would Yu be able to trick him (Well- maybe not even completely trick, lol~) Him into thinking she was on 'his side' I just thought of an interesting piece of dialog if you'll at least let Yu get a few words in before the 'face-smashing'. XD

Yeah okay, I'll let you get a word in edgeways. But you better talk fast, Khaoul isn't going to wait about for you to finish a monologue. His hunger grows infinitely...

Oh, she ain't a 'monologue' kinda character~ Short, seductive and rather malicious is how she'll roll.

Short - okay, can't dispute that.
Seductive - not gonna work on me, I don't have THAT kind of hunger. xD (But I could just for you ; D)
Malicious - hey, maybe we could be friends after all? I mean, Khaoul wouldn't cut off a source of meat after all, if one could supply.

Come now, you have me all worked up as to what you could be offering in your next post. But go, don't let me distract you. I await your response. >: )

Somehow I missed this.

Francis is going poorly. I've not even looked at the sheet, much less, copy/paste it into my writer-thingy.

Damn it.

I'll just do everything else, and keep the backstory clean for... Proper collaboration.

If you need any help with historical accuracy, just give me nudge. I'll do my best.

That's all right, Eleph, I'm actually having fun reading about history. Who knew it would be so exciting? Right now, my brain's absorbing all this information like a sponge! It's a goddamned miracle, Eleph, usually I feel like my brain's turned into mush.

I'm thinking about this Francis character while I'm thinking of Walter. Oh, and you should give basic information about him. Give his full name, age, and background. Did he come from a rich family that essentially "donated" him to the church? Was he a university student or teacher in Cambridge or Oxford?

I'm thinking about it. I want him to be a humble sort of character. So, peasantry as an origin would be preferable. Maybe his parents died, and his uncle sent him off to a monastery to live off his life — or maybe his parents were booted off from their lands, and because they were too poor to handle a kid, they sent him off to a monastery. Two possibilities, either a postulate or an oblate.

His age, I think, should be late twenties or early thirties — still bright, yet experienced enough for the abbot to trust him.

There~ Only one 'word-y' paragraph but she addresses that in her next sentence so- yeah. XD

Actually, you've given me a concept to work with. He's like one of those real disciplined monks — secretly a bit unconventional, as he oft finds himself questioning the concept of religion, though he never reveals it — who's also very curious. However, because of his lessened contact with people, he's very simple-minded, sometimes a bit too honest, and extremely dense. Not necessarily insensitive, but he just doesn't understand complex emotions and gestures.

Another thing, a running gag really, is that he's really superstitious. While he secretly questions the foundation of religion, and may be leaning towards pragmatism as a whole, he's still overtly careful when it comes to ghosts — anything remotely weird/bad happens, ghosts. Saw a kitsune? Ghost. A half-demon? Ghost. And as a result of that, he can't help himself but try to exorcise everything.

Well well, I want my character to be as rowdy, vulgar, and as irreverent as possible. He will crash into taverns and inns with his trusty warhorse, demanding that he should bed the local whores. He will catapult the heads of his enemies straight into towns and castles as a prank. He will lay traps down on the road, and wait for unsuspecting travelers to pass by only to get themselves caught inside a net, and they will have to beg Walter to let them go. This man will be the thorn on everybody's side!

Just kidding, Walter won't go that far, but he will have some of his moments.

Alternatively, I was also thinking that Walter should be a former religious zealot turned atheist knight, but I have no idea how to pull this off.

So now, I'm thinking that he should be the unwelcome bastard son of an Earl that keeps on quarreling with his half brothers and sisters. And these little quarrels eventually turn into violent conflicts, with Walter spending a few years fighting his siblings off before he earns the right to a few estates of his own. Then he gets summoned to the Hundred Years' War and fights a campaign there and he learns more about medieval military strategy. When Walter returns home, his estates are ransacked and he is forced out of the country by his hated brothers and sisters.

Well, I should also think more about how Walter and Francis became friends...
