Pursing her lips, Evelyn did not like him not telling her what was in the bag. She wanted to find out, but now and not later. Yet, he did not leave time for her to fight back. Instead, he made his way towards the door, giving his farewells to the shop owner. Evelyn followed closely, still disliking the fact he held the door open for her. Not that she hated gentlemanly acts. In fact, she loved the one where the men buy the food and alcohol. However, the rest just seemed to treat women as dainty. Evelyn had proven she was anything but dainty. Maybe not as skilled as Isaac was in battle as she needed to be saved a few times, but she was hardy and had a bloodlust that a soldier could respect.
The streets were still just as crowded as ever, yet no one else mattered as Evelyn zoned in on what Isaac was doing as it was suspicious. He was looking at the rooftops and had brief looks of nervousness. That was noted and from then on her eyes too kept glancing at the roofs. Were they being followed?
Not much time to consider the thought as a beautiful red carriage stopped beside them. It caught Evelyn off guard slightly and she became tense for a split second. Then relaxed as Odeth peered towards them. Isaac, much to her disliking, opened the carriage door for her and beckoned her inside. With a sigh, she stepped in, needing to lift up the sides of her dress in fear of tripping. The inside matched the outside well. Red cushions that felt soft to the touch with gold detailing to help the red stand out more. As much as it looked wonderful to Evelyn, she wished it was silver instead of gold. It would have matched the dark red better in her opinion.
Once inside she waited for ISaac to enter and close the door. “Where are we going now, ISaac?” She asked but already suspected he would be just as vague as earlier.
