The Inventor's Neko

Itsuki looked at the clothes Korina held, as he had picked out a couple of dresses in case they got formal visitors. Like his parents or any business partners. He smiled at her, as her tail wagged back and forth. She seemed to be enjoying shopping, just like any other girl. "I found some too, but I don't know how good they'll fit. "Excuse me miss? May we borrow a room to see if the clothes fit her?" Itsuki asked the shop keeper, still a bit angry that she had eyed down Korina earlier. It wasn't as if she was infected or anything, and they were costumers nonetheless. She should have treated them just as if they were.

With a slight rolled in her eyes the store keeper nodded and pointed to a door that was labeled fitting rooms. Korina followed the direction she pointed in and headed towards the door. She laid the clothes on a chair and turned to look at Itsuki "so.. Should I just put them on and show you?" She asked tilting her head, she wasn't quite sure of she wanted her to wear anything specific or to just see of it all fit.

"Just try it all and then show me, so nothing is too big for you. We wouldn't want you to walk all over your new clothes now would we?" Itsuki said with a smile as he followed her directions to the fitting rooms. She just made it to my: "Reason I lost hope in humanity" list. My brother's there too... He chuckled at the thought of the list and looked at Korina with a smile. "You go ahead and try them all on, there's some dresses there too that I chose, they may look a bit weird, but you'll not wear them often," Itsuki said as he felt he was taking care of a small child, but he shook the thought out. She was given to him to help him in his house, or was this a way for his brother to make him social? Who knew what that man had in his mind anyway?

Korina nodded and closed the door. To start off she decided to try on the things he picked out for her, mainly to see of she liked them but she wouldn't be to picky, she was lucky he was this giving to her. The first dress she tried one was one that seemed formal and fancy, it was black and went to the floor, the top was one shoulder and had little sequins bunch up on it. Sure it covered her tail but she didn't mind, there was still room to move it. Before she went out she looked in the mirror, it seemed like it fit well, it was certainly better than what she called clothing before. But what did she know, she's never done this before. She opened the door and peaked her head out first to make sure Itsuki was still there before stepping out "is.. This too big..?" She asked quietly

Itsuki smiled as maybe the dress wasn't exactly something that fitted her as good as he thought. He examined her with his eyes, before checking that she had enough room to move around in the dress. "Does it feel tight Korina?" He asked, looking at her. It seemed a bit long in the length, but maybe it was suppose to be that way? He should go out more often, maybe he would have known these kind of things. "If it's not too tight, then I think that fits you very well. You are very cute in that," Itsuki said to her, petting her head with a smile. It was just like having a pet, only a bit more lively as this one spoke back.

Korina's cheeks flushed a little bit at his comment and even more when he pet her, she's never been touched like that before. The truth was it felt good, soothing in fact. "It's not tight..." She replied "it doesn't feel too loose either" maybe it did fit. She gave him a small smile before returning to the dressing room, she figured all the other clothes were supposed to fit that way. As she tried on the rest she looked at herself in the mirror, it was kind of fun, so many colors and textures. She was a grown up and yet she felt like a child, all these new experiences made her feel like one. So many new things she had to catch on fast. When she was done she came out in a floral sundress she had picked out, figuring it would be better to wear this than the sack. The rest of the clothes were draped in her arms "I hope I'm not causing you too much trouble, with you buying me clothes and all"

"Of course not. You're in my care now. It's the least I can do," Itsuki said and smiled to her as she seemed to enjoy herself and open up a bit, he couldn't live with a girl that was too afraid to speak with him either. That would turn out awkward, and he was already a bit socially awkward, as he mostly kept to himself working on his inventions. "We'll buy all of these then," Itsuki said and paid for all the clothes she had tried on, and carried the bags out to the car. "Korina can you wait by the car a few minutes? I'll be right back," Itsuki asked as he left her by the car, and walked into the crowds, disappearing among the people as he made his way over to a hardware shop to buy a tool he needed for his newest invention.

Korina helped him organize the bags in the car and was about to get into the backseat before he told her to wait. She stood back up and watched him as he disappeared "oh... Ok.." She replied but doubted he could hear her but she still stood and waited. After a few moments of forever a smell caught her nose, something sweet. She bit her lip wanting to find the source but unsure of what will happen if he sees she's ignored his orders. But the smell didn't seem like it was too far away, she would be back before he got back right? With that thought in her mind she shut the car door and wandered through the streets keeping her ears pressed against her head so people would think she was human. Finally she got to it's source, it was a bakery and they had just pulled out fresh pastries. She leaned her hands up on the glass displays to look at the curious foods.

"Okay I- Korina?" Itsuki looked around for Korina, no signs of her. He sighed, of course she would wander off on her own if he left her alone. He put the tool inside of the car along with the other bags, as he walked around the streets. Eventually spotting her by the pastry shop, and smiled. At least she didn't wander off and get lost... He thought with a smile as he walked up to her, gently patting her head. "You want some?" He asked her, as her face seemed glued to the glass, her mouth almost drooling. He had to chuckle at her reaction for the pastry shop, maybe the cookies he bought on his way to the hardware store wasn't such a bad idea after all, she had behaved very well back at the clothing shop after all, a small reward was in order.

Korina gasped and stood up straight hearing his voice and feeling a hand on her head. Immediately she bowed muttering her apologies "I-I'm sorry, si- Itsuki, I- I disobeyed you..." She clutched into the skirt of her dress "I- I just got... The smell was so...." She was having trouble racking her head over an excuse, none of them were good, she was given a simple order how could she be so foolish? She fell silent expecting some sort of wave of scolding or a blow if this man was anything liked the one who bought her. After a few moments she looked up not seeing a shred of anger on his face "y-you're not... Mad?"

"Not really. Temptation is a natural response to our instincts. We both got it, and sometimes we just can't fight against it," Itsuki said with a smile patting her head once more. Maybe her senses were bigger than his, it seemed as she could smell the pastry, even though he had no clue that there even was a pastry here, even less smell it. "Is there anything here in peculiar you wanted? Or should we just buy the one who made you drool?" Itsuki asked with a small chuckle, drying away some drool in the corner of her lip with his handkerchief. She was honestly more like a child than a pet, how did his brother manage to take care of his own "pet"?

Korina's cheeks flushed once again, but this time more in embarrassment. Had she really been drooling? She didn't really notice, though the pastries looked delicious. She folded her hands behind her back and shook her head "n-no, it's ok really. You've done so much for me today with the clothes and everything, I couldn't bother you with something like this" she nodded but still all of this felt weird. Even with the stories she's been told none of them talked of this. He was being so gentle when so many are tough to the Nekos they bought. She was his servant wasn't she? Supposed to obey his orders, head his commands. Maybe he really did think of her as some sort of pet. "Shouldn't we be.. Getting back to your house?"

Itsuki took out his golden pocket watch, a keepsake from his late grandfather, and looked at the time. It was getting a bit late, so it was probably best for them to head on home. Quickly he walked in and bought one of each the pastries in the window that Korina had been drooling over, and chuckled as he walked out of the pastry, holding his hand out for her. "Here take my hand, it's easy to get lost in these streets," Itsuki said as he smiled and began walking towards where he had parked his car, as dinner time was approaching.

Hesitant at first she took his hand with a small smile as they walked through the streets. As it neared dinner time she walked a little closer to him as the town almost became busier with people walking around to find meals of their own. She bit her lip and got into the back seat of the car straightening out her dress as she sat. She looked at him through the rear view mirror " I forgot to say thank you, there were so many different things, and after I was handed over to you I felt a little better about this arrangement" she nodded

"It has been my pleasure, if we're going to live together. We might as well get along," Itsuki said and smiled to her in the rear window as he began the drive back home to his house. He wasn't about to ask her about her past, or how she ended up getting sold to his brother in the first place, bad memories were nothing people wanted to talk about, and you didn't need to be a scientist to know that. "I bought some cookies in there along with the pastries, if you want you can eat one of them now, but don't eat too much as dinner is approaching us," Itsuki said to her, smiling. "Oh, and try not to spill anything in the car," he added as washing the car could sometime be a real annoyance to him.

Korina gave him a nod and decided to save the pastries for later, wouldn't want to make a mess. She brought her attention again back out the window taking in the surroundings that quickly passed by. She loved the thought of a new better home, but still that was selfish. Usually being sold was a bad thing, you were taken from your family and never really saw them again, and already she missed them. As they approached the house she shook those thoughts from her mind to try and stay focused on the now. Getting out of the car she grabbed her bags filled with her new clothes and waited for Itsuki to approach the front door before her

( dinner)

Itsuki grabbed the bags he had bought, as it seemed Korina wanted to carry her own bags. He smiled to her as he walked over to the door and unlocked it, letting them both inside. "You can place your clothes in the closet in your room. It may be a bit smaller than you're used to," Itsuki said as the room was about the size of an average room, with a bed, a closet a couple of bookshelves and a red carpet covering the entire floor, and a small bathroom on the side with a toilet and a sink. Beside the bed was a large window, reaching from the roof tot he floor and the window still sat a small mattress and some pillows, it looked as it was an additional sleeping space, or just reading place as Itsuki used this room to be by himself, or as a guestroom. Itsuki went and placed his bags on the kitchen counter, as he walked into her room, hoping she liked her new room. "Do you like your new room?" He asked her with a smile as he hadn't been in this room for a small while, it was very nice being back in here.

(Sorry false alarm. I will be going to dinner in a few though)

When Korina was showed where she would be sleeping she was astonished. She couldn't grasp how large it was, and he thought it was small. She out her bags to the side planning to unpack them later. Walking a bit further into the room she ran her fingers across the bed sheets. They were so soft, the bed itself looked like a cloud, so inviting and warm. She looked at him with a smile "actually... This room is about the size of my old house, maybe a bit bigger" she bit her lip and nodded "and I do like it, I think it's more than I could ever ask for!" She laughed lightly, I don't think I could thank you enough"

"Nothing to thank me for. I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was smaller, since you came along side my brother. He owes a mansion, and I only owe this house. I'm glad you like it though," Itsuki said with a smile, looking at his pocket watch one more time to make sure. "Well, it looks as if we're getting close to dinner time. Should I show you around the house before we begin preparing for dinner?" Itsuki asked her as he opened the door for her, ready to show her around the house.

(That's okay. Enjoy your meal :3)

"Oh, at master Yutou's house I slept in the servants quarters" she looked down and rubbed her arm "the conditions were much like home but i didn't stay long, one morning he just got me and left, I didn't have time to gather the few belongings I was able to bring" Korina shrugged and looked back up, he probably wasn't interested in that. "I think maybe a tour of the house would be nice before dinner" she smiled a little "I'll need to know where things are if I'm to serve you correctly"

"Oh you forgot something over at Yutou's? We can probably go and pick that up later," Itsuki said with a smile as he began showing her around the house. Upstairs was his office and his bedroom, she was allowed entrance in both rooms, but had to knock before entering his office as he was usually working when he was inside there. If not the door was usually locked, there was a large bathroom with a bubble bath next to her room if she ever needed to refresh herself and she was free to use whatever she felt necessary in the bathroom. Otherwise it was the kitchen, connected with a small dining table and the living room. Most places were a bit messy, filled with different blueprints and papers. Itsuki was never good at cleaning. Outside there was garden with lots of flowers, it was fenced off due to it being a bit too close to the forest. "There you go. You can call for me when dinner is served, I will be in my office until then. Oh, and be careful," Itsuki said after the tour with a smile as he showed her where everything was in the kitchen before he left her alone and disappeared into his study.

Korina made sure to pay close attention, she didn't want to embarrass herself and ask where something was again. She bowed as he left feeling she said thank you too many times. Now she had to find out what to cook. She looked around in the cabinets and pulled out some beef and vegetables thinking about some sort of stew. It was what they made at home, luckily her family was still able to afford food. When everything was ready she spooned some into a bowl for him and went to set the table. She headed upstairs when it was ready for him to eat and walked up to the door that she remembered was his office. She politely knocked on the door "sir?..erm, Itsuki? Dinner is ready"

"Already? Well you are a quick worker aren't you Korina?" Itsuki said as he put away the blueprints he had been working on, it was his newest invention. Hopefully it would work, but for now it was the blueprint that was the issue. He put them away in one of his drawers as he walked outside and saw Korina on the other side of the door. "You're very efficient, I like that," Itsuki said and patted her head before he headed down stairs to where the table had been set, and saw only one plate there. "Aren't you going to eat? You must be hungry," Itsuki said as he began placing another bowl on the table for her to sit beside him.

"Oh, no no, I have those pastries to eat later" Korina folded her hands behind her back and gave him a small smile. During her short time at Yutou's mansion, his neko gave her advice so she wouldn't be sent back or put somewhere worse. One nope the things he told her was that she wasn't allowed to eat at the table, another thing was to not ask Itsuki about his work, that it would seem like she's snooping and his work shouldn't be her concern. "Really it's fine" she added as she saw him place a bowl down. She didn't want to trouble him at all, he's already done so much for her.

"Oh come on. You can't eat pastries for dinner. That's not healthy, come here and sit down. It's only eating. I won't bite," Itsuki said and smiled to her, as he pulled out the chair for her. He hadn't eaten dinner with anyone for a good while, and he might as well take the opportunity now, plus. Korina wasn't serious about eating pastries for dinner was she? That was far from healthy, and under his roof that was not going to happen.
