The humans found a new diamond called the Trykon. It was cyan and glowed in the dark. It was gigantic, weighing a ton. They spread the news to all of their allies. However, all of the races wanted the Trykon for themselves. One attacked the humans so they could never get their hands on them. Then the humans attacked. All of the allies turned into enemies, and attacked each other whenever they had the chance. The killers killed. And the killers died. The humans declared war on their enemies, and their enemies did the same. With advanced weaponry and advanced modes of transport, will you and your race defeat all the other races and get the Trykon?

Why would a giant diamond mean jack shit to intergalactic alien races?

Diamond has lots of properties and can be synthesized, but extremely large ones (larger than continents) would be extremely difficult to synthesize and would be extremely useful to a post-singularity culture, although not so rare they'd cause this.


My assumption would be this diamond has special properties.

The diamonds make even better weapons, vehicles, faster space travel, Life support, a island sized one can power a planet for 5 years. To put it bluntly diamond op as shit and no one will share.
