"Dubois, in all honesty, wasn't one of my top schools to go to. I'm only here cause my dad played here and nothing else. Having been made somewhere on this campus if y'know what I mean-- **distant chuckling heard in the back** -- anyways, before I talk about the sports stuff, I already made a plan for myself coming to Dubois. Focusing on studies is gonna be one of my main goals this year, if basketball wasn't to work out-- hell, basketball better work out though. I wasn't ranked number one high school player for nothing, I'm gon' prove my dad wrong. Be a better player than he ever one. When I make the bigs, I ain't ever gon' look back for him. Don't show him this shit just yet though, when I'm a five time all-star in my fifth year, y'all can release this. Ha, plus the chicks. Basketball glory's gon' be a big thing 'round here, better use my dad's cred fo' it's all gon, y'feel? A'ight, I'm out, peace, foo'."

Kentavious is a huge joke, even when he's not trying to be funny. The young man has little to no filter, and doesn't know when to stop talking even if it's highly warranted. Heavily due to his large ego and self-importance, Kent sees himself as higher than most of the other children around him, and in spite of his selfishness, this allows him to talk and socialise with other kids easier than most would he. When trying, Kent has a great sense of humour and draws a close crowd with his jokes and stories. He's also a huge fan of the hip-hop and rap culture due to his free-spirited and explicit the lyrics are to rap, much like to himself. Kent is much of a flirt as well, utilising his status and charm to find a way into the pants of multiple women.
Kentavious' love for basketball has always been watered down and doubted due to the way his father, Kareem Marchand sees the sport. The two's relationship is rather frail, and strained due to the amount of pressure and berating his father'd made in his sons past whether it be at basketball games or at practices. He's rather insecure about himself as a cause of his father's parenting skills, leading to his playful and blunt personality front, something he only does as a cause of his self-doubt. As for his mother, Kent and his mother had never been too close since the left the family when he'd aged 13 as a cause of her husband's obsession.

History -
Backstory:
"#92 races down the court, euro-step into the lay up, unbelievable! Kareem Marchand does it again as the New Jersey Nets advance to the Eastern Conference finals!" Film, film, and more basketball film was the majority of Kentavious' childhood. His father, Kareem Marchand, a 14x NBA All-Star, 2x Champion, 3x MVP as well as a plethora of scoring and assisting titles, Kareem Marchand one of the-- if not the best two-guards of the 90's, balling out for the New Jersey Nets his whole career, one of the faces of the Nike brand, as well as 2x Olympic gold-medallist. Most speculate Marchand could've went down as the greatest of all-time if not for a series of knee injuries by the time he'd aged thirty-four. Those stats and more were crammed into Kent's brain, "My legacy," he said, "My future," and "My fire! That's what you are, Kent. You've got a destiny to carry on and you won't fulfil them sitting your ass on the couch, now get up, foo'."
Kent hated his childhood, and even til now, isn't entirely sure if he enjoys the game of basketball for what it is, or if it was because it'd been drilled into his brain by his self-absorbed father-- oh, that's where he gets it from. Kent grew up most of his life in New Jersey, moving from the Dubois campus to uptown Jersey after his father had been drafted by the Nets in the 1992 NBA Draft. Kent's mother had always been loving, and caring for the young boy, and hadn't much of a rage for basketball as Kent's father did in spite of also playing basketball in university. Schooling for Kent had always been easy, whether they only wanted his money and fame or not, Kent enjoyed the constant attention he received at his New Jersey private school. He often spoiled his friends, and he himself spoiled by his mother who spent all her time home with him.
Kent, like his father, had always been a basketball prodigy. Starting point guard at New Jersey State Basketball Academy at only the age of 8, reporters and journalists were always on the Marchand case, berating Kareem Marchand for his constant pressure on the kid. Kent's mother agreed with this, and after years of trying to free her son from his father's basketball hold, she divorced the man, but lost guardianship over the kid due to past drug charges in her teens. Kent, honestly isn't even sure where his mother is now, but always wishes the best for her. As for his father, when not seeing him due to the basketball season, Kent was cursed with an array of personal trainers and equipment.
By the time he'd aged later into his teens, Kent became more and more rebellious, skipping practice ("hey, A.I. skipped practices, he's in the hall of fame now"), and school to spend time with what he'd missed. Real friends, girls, and plenty more. An occurrence that scared Kent was when he'd been charged for raping a girl his age at a pool party at a friend's house. She'd used his lust and her seductiveness to lure him into the room and sleep with the prodigy before coming out with lies that he'd raped her. Aside from all the money paid off to the judge, the girl had been caught on tape by a friend of Kent's admitting to the crime, and thankfully, the whole scandal had been able to sizzle to a stop.
Now, Kent begins his university journey at Dubois on a basketball scholarship, selecting Dubois out of many due to the rich history they have with Marchand. Leading highschool players as the highest ranked nationwide, Kent has been selected for multiple endorsements and sponsors already, and has a steady income even as a child (no one's supposed to know in order to maintain his amateur status).
Trivia
Kent has currently selected jersey #29, his father's number backwards. Shots fired *pew* *pew* *pew*
