The boy was startled slightly, but was happy he could relax with the formalities. He pulled up a chair from the corner of the Gazebo and sat down at the table. He tried not to snicker at the introduction of her family, grinning slightly at her introduction of Klarion. He was kind of funny looking, and certainly looked like the type that would clash with Cecilia. But then again he was always taught not to judge a book by it's cover. So instead he sat back in his seat, and observed the rest of the table. He beat not be obnoxious on his first day he decided, especially at the table. He glanced over at Klarion, slightly annoyed but not enough so to show it much. He simply looked at him and stated "I don't think I will need to, for I have no desire to fight her. While I will be sparring her a lot throughout our sessions, being able to beat her is not my end goal. Plus it takes a lot of weaknesses to know a lot of weaknesses, so I would advise you save the words and settle this with a real match away from the manor after lunch. Of course this is assuming you have the spine to." He was quite good with words, especially for his age, and found that they came to him when he needed them the most. He sat back in his seat, picking up his drink and sipping slightly . The problem was, he knew he didn't have the spine to fight any of them, they were much older than him, and they had the Solberg bloodline traits, each of which were unique. The question was... What could they all do?

As the door to the garden opened to reveal a butler leading a young boy towards the gazebo, Bianca's interest was now directed towards the stranger. At first, she had assumed the boy to be one of the Solberg siblings. But when Cecilia began introducing him to her family she thought otherwise. What business would a child have at the manor? Especially one she had no memory of belonging to a notable family.

She didn't overthink the situation. After all, it wasn't her problem or her place to bring up the subject. Instead, she remained silent, choosing to not be involved with the others. When she heard her name being addressed, all attempts of staying out of conversing with the other members of the Solberg family came crashing down. Bianca suppressed an annoyed sigh before her eyes focused on the young woman.

"Pleased to meet you," Bianca responded, a faint smile appearing on her face. "It was pleasant so far. Your estate is quite impressive. On the subject of spending the night, I intended to stay here until evening, or possibly later depending on her long it takes your brother to make a decision." Bianca mumbled the last part to herself, tapping her index finger on her thigh in irritation.

She couldn't leave the estate, not until Julius came back to her with a response to their agreement. If she was even able to call it that. She wasn't sure if he even thought about addressing the matter. There was a little voice in her mind telling her that maybe he was mocking her again, but she chose to ignore that. He seemed obscure, but not the type of person to fool her for this long.

Her attention was needed once more, but this time the crimson haired Solberg spoke to her. "It was," She stated simply, choosing to not further the subject on her meeting with Julian. Discussing the matter with one of the most hot-headed members of the family wouldn't have been very bright on her part.

Klarion rolled his eyes, “oh please, spare me the details like everyone else does.” He winked at Bianca, “I have ears y’know sweetheart. You don’t have to lie to me.”

He laughed at the young apprentice and ruffled his hair,”I like you! You’re fun, definitely worthy of my little sister’s leadership.” He raised an eyebrow at the latter, “if one could call it that.” He grinned at the boy, “And my dear child I do have a spine. And a gun. But I won’t use that because I have honor.” He paused, “and magic. And a knife.” He counted them off on his fingers. He swatted the air as if there were flies, “no matter. I’ll take you up on your proposal for educational purposes.” His crimson eyes grew wild, “who am I kidding I need a good brawl at least twice a day or I break out.” He rubbed his forehead, feeling for pimples.

The child perked slightly at the mention of a gun. Surely it wasn't protected by magical properties, odds were he could easily summon the item, however he decided better of it, figuring that he better keep a good first impression. He flared at the man for a second. "Well it's just lovely that you like me Sir, because if it isn't already obvious I don't like you. " He didn't like the man's arrogance, or the way he treated everyone in his family as if they were lesser than him. It was obvious simply because of the way he talked to each of them. He then took another sip from his drink, and watched the rest.

Cecilia watched with an amused expression as the events unfolded. At least something entertaining was happening. At any other time, she'd have advised her apprentice not to speak with such bravado, but there wasn't any need. It was obvious that Wayne already knew he couldn't last in a fight with a member of the Solberg family. At least, not yet. If the two felt like a match, there were plenty of precautions she could take to ensure no serious damage was done. She leaned back in her chair and allowed her mind to drift. Why on earth did tea with a member of the Lunatonne family have to be so bland? Looking for the briefest moment at Klarion, she couldn't help but wonder if this was how he felt all the time. With luck in everything he tried, any conceivable thrill would be few and far between. Then there was the question of skill. Did he really have any? "If you two really are going to spar, I'll have to take a few precautionary steps beforehand." she informed.

The child looked at her, laughing to himself. "You must not have heard me correctly. I said that you two are going to fight, I know I can't beat either of you yet, I practically just learned how to use my powers, let alone beat a member of the Solberg family with them. I am simply implying that if the man wants to talk trash then he needs to back it up. I admit I am not stupid enough to fight either of you. But I want to see if he has the spine to fight YOU in combat." The child say back in his seat, leaning back slightly and putting his hands behind his head, his elbows forming an upside-down triangle as he did so.

"If I might ask, how come your father did not accompany you here?" Alannah asked curiously. Even though, she eavesdropped on her conversation with her brother, it still did not make sense to her. "And don't be shy, we have plenty of rooms if you require one. My brother can take a while when it comes to important decisions."

She stared at Klarion in disbelief. Was he threatening a child two decades younger than him? "Klarion, he is just a kid. Give it a break." Alannah glanced at Cecilia's new apprentice. "Wayne, right? I suggest not interacting with that one," she nodded her head towards Klarion. "Also, kindly show some proper table manners when in front of people you do not know." It was a habit for Alannah to nag others into being prim.

As the cup grew wings and flew away along with her attempt of calming poor Julius down, Jasmine let of a soft "Oh" as she watched it fly away, "My teacup.." Muttering at the sight of one of her lost teacups. She made haste to pour Julius another cup of black tea with extra sugar, setting it near where his head laid, "Here is another cup Sir, I apologize for the last cup." Despite the fact that it wasn't her fault for the disappearance of his drink, she felt the need to apologize for the rather difficult day that he was experiencing. More requests for tea came along after wards as well as a few more guests joining the little get together. "Right away." Jasmine made her way around the setup table where the drinks were all lined up, pouring each request of drinks into teacups despite some drinks not actually being tea at all. She liked when all the drink cups matched with each other, often bothering her when cups do not match with one another.

Jasmine passing out all of the drinks and their coasters, including a small treat for Genevieve on the side as well. As much as she wanted this time to be spent with the family getting along, if she continued lacing drinks with emotions, she wouldn't have enough for lunch nor dinner. Her magic wasn't the most powerful when it came down to it but I did give people reasons to want to obtain it, especially before big events to calm down nerves or heighten stamina or anything of the sort, even cause fear during torture.. but Jasmine would never do such a thing!

(Sorry if my responses are lagging, I've been really out of it)

Cecilia laughed a little "That figures. It's hard for me to pay attention to anyone for long when things are so.." She searched her mind for a more civilized word. " dull," she decided. "In any case, I was just in a rematch with Klarion before you arrived. Julius interrupted us," she explained. She rolled her eye listlessly at Alannah's insistence on proper table manners. They were already bored stiff. if this event became any more lifeless, she was going to scream. "Just make your decision already you insufferable weak-willed louse of a Lord." she thought. At least there would be a few things to look forward to after this meeting was completed. She and Klarion would finally be able to settle things.

The child flushed with embarrassment when Alannah called him out on the way he was acting at the table. She was right afterall, but he had supposed it was fine. After all his focus was centered on the rougher side of the table. He sat back in his seat slightly, finally replying with an embarrassed apology. Although he wasn't completely sure she was referring to him, he still figured it best to apologize, just in case.

Alfred stepped out of the carriage. The retired butler looked up at the illustrious estate that he called home for so long. He had been gone for a few days now, running some much important errands. He was in a worse mood than usual as he had some very unpleasant news for the head of the estate. Walking in, a maid bowed to him, "Welcome home, Mr. Alfred." He didn't bother to bow back. "Where are the children?" He asked, stroking his beard sullenly.

"In the garden with guests. They were having a-" She was cut off as Alfred collapsed into a shadow, darting towards the garden. He was retired, but he felt it was still important to keep an I on them, especially when they were together. It took him moments to reach the garden. Working at the estate for five Solberg generations gives one quite a detailed layout of the estate. Quickly without being spotted, he jumped into the shadow of Julius.

Julius raised his head slightly as an unfamiliar voice reached his ears. It was one of the many butlers, who seemed to have a young boy in tow. "Hm? I dont remember you being born..." he said to himself, then sat up straighter as the boy was introduced, having not been related at all to them! That was new; but what was this about an apprenticeship? This boy couldnt be much older than Genevieve, and he was being accepted as an apprentice? To whom?

When Cecilia spoke up and said that this boy was hers, Julius had to stifle a laugh. "Now just a moment. This boy is an apprentice...to Cecilia? Oh, you poor lad." He mused, shaking his head. Another cup of tea was set down in front of him, and he looked up to Jasmine with a smile. "Truly, you are an angel on high my dear Jasmine." He told her, carefully picking up the cup and examining it so no more tricks would happen. He brought it to his lips and took a sip, smiling while breathing a sigh of relief. "Ah, elegant yet flavorful, as always. Oh, wont you do this fool a favor and marry me already!?" He asked her in a dramatic fashion, his arm reaching out to her as if she was separated by a cliff. This was a sort of running gag Julius had with Jasmine; he first asked her to marry him as a joke when they were young, and back then, she wasnt working for them; she was just a playmate. But seeing at how it made her fluster as a child, Julius saw fit to keep the joke going, no matter how old it got. He always did get a kick out of her reaction.

However, the boy was getting increasingly rude with each response. Ah, now he saw why he was with Cecilia; the rebellious type. He decided then and there that he didnt like this boy all that much, and he committed himself to keeping him away from Genevieve. He leaned over to said sister sitting by his side and whispered to her. "This boy is a right piece of work. It would probably benefit to....not socialize with him." He whispered to her, carefully peppering his sentence with more friendly words.

Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine as he sat back up. He had felt this feeling many times before, but he was never able to pinpoint the exact reason for it. "Huh. That's strange...I get the odd sense we're being watched..." He said to no one in particular.

The boy, still embarrassed by Alannah's comment, abruptly stopped talking with Klarion, figuring the antics and trash talk best for after the lunch. After all, even in his family with minimal income, table time mannerisms were still taught. He shouldn't have made such a bad first impression on the entire family. Now he would have to work thrice as hard to earn himself even a dose of respect, which stunk, for instead of a nice lunch full of mannerisms and excellent first impressions, followed by a battle between Klarion and Cecilia, he would now have to work for two, maybe three days to be respected by the less rowdy of the siblings. He finally took a sip of water, deciding he should try to cool his face down. The combination of embarrassment, and the anger he had towards himself for being so idiotic, had turned his face bright red. He took another sip of water, keeping his mannerisms in tip top condition, even though they were nothing like the ones this family expected.

Genevieve

~ ~ ~

The girl had been following the conversation silently. She nodded at Jasmine as she received her tea, and the little girl was pleased to get a treat as well, munching on it while she looked at the new face - apparently an apprentice of Cecilia's. The girl was a little confused; how come he was an apprentice of Cecilia's and not someone less, say, impulsive. Come to think of it, all of her siblings could come up with rash decisions, making them very unpredictable. It was entertaining, but could also be exhausting and dangerous at times. She couldn't count the times the house had almost burned down, crumbled or exploded. And how many times they had to patch holes in walls after their "games". While her siblings destroyed the estates walls and other objects, Genevieve had caused trouble amongst those employed at the mansion since she hadn't understood that thoughts were very intimate to a person and she shouldn't share others thoughts with anyone - it had taken her years to learn how to keep secrets, but once she did, she barely ever caused problems.

Cecilia's complaint about something being dull made the girl hiss at her sister, as she assumed her talking about the teatime - nobody, simply nobody, was to talk like that about something that was almost holy to the little girl.
- How come you never can be quiet? Her eyes shot daggers at her sister, although otherwise she appeared calm and composed. Perhaps she was a little rude at her sister, but currently she was also frustrated and angry. The girl lifted the teacup up from the coaster, taking a sip before placing the cup back down. No, sometimes she would have to be rude in order to get her siblings to listen to her and take her seriously.

As she had followed the conversation between the boy and Klarion, Genevieve had let out a little sigh - such nerve to talk back to Klarion, who was part of the family he would be staying with. Well, at least Alannah appeared to tell him what is what, or even if it was aimed at Klarion, it seemed to work on the boy. The girl then noticed her brother, Julius, leaning in towards her. He informed her that she perhaps shouldn't socialize with the boy, and the girl nodded in agreement. After all, Julius was older than her and might've noticed something she didn't. Besides, it would be very unlikely that she would enjoy the boys company, considering that he seemed like the type that was into fighting and causing trouble - just like Klarion and Cecilia, so they would probably get along well. But if the boy was to approach her, the girl wouldn't be anything but polite to him. She did not intend to be rude to someone who had been taken under the wing of one of her family members, unless the person was to provoke her, in which case she would not hold back.

The girl took yet another sip from her tea, putting it back on the coaster - it was delicious, Jasmine really knew what she was doing, and that was the reason she had gained the little girls favor - amongst those working in the kitchen - in the first place. Genevieve's attention was grabbed by Julius, who seemed to mumble something about being watched, she remained silent, wondering if her brother was just being paranoid or if something really was observing them.

|| Klarion simply winked at Alannah, “oh dearest, do you think I would sink so low? Tis merely banter.” He chugged his vodka, “besides the child asked if I have a spine and I was merely proving it.” The crimson boy paused and thought about what she said. The sinking feeling he felt earlier in the garden returned. His hands began to crackle and he shoved them into his pockets. His faced contorted in annoyance as he remembered his moment of weakness earlier that day. What was wrong with him? He brushed it off and eyed Cecilia, “Do I have a spine, Cece?” He seemed amused at the little nickname he had thought up.

The crimson boy sank lower in his seat. It was tiring to act like brat. All his remarks and teasing took so much out of him. It used to be fun but it was more like a chore now. Everyone had their set personalities and mannerisms. He set his in stone a long time ago and he felt he couldn't just up and change it. Everyone fit neatly in a box of who they are and he wasn't going to go banging on the walls now. Klarion sighed. He was so tired all the time. No matter how long he slept or how little he moved, he was always tired. It was not physical exaustion, his antics earlier had proved that. It was mental. His head was always heavy, his mind always chaotic and blurry. The second eldest just felt as though it was all finally catching up to him. All the guilt and regret he had bottled up through his childhood and late teens. It was all coming out. He felt unstable, like he would break at any moment. He felt like a broken vase, clumsily propped up on the mantelpiece, poised to fall. Nothing came without shame or regret anymore. It scared the Solberg man. His fear itself scared him more, to no end in fact. He didn't get scared. At least, not how he used to. With his powers, he was never scared of anything. Klarion knew something would always break his fall, he knew things would always go his way. However, there was one thing his luck couldn't save him from. Himself. He would slowly drive himself into the ground until he was finally six feet under. Klarion gulped, eyes going glassy again, 'Don't you dare.' He thought, 'not in front of them. Don't. You. Dare.' He swallowed, throat bobbing. He closed his eyes and exhaled. He got out a cigarette and lit it with a finger. He let the smoke fill his lungs and basked in the comfortable numbness it brought.

He perked up slightly, staring intently behind his elder brother, “Alfred? Why do you always insist upon sneaking around?” He smiled warmly at the shadow, “you’re getting rusty, old man.” He chuckled, “but you wear your age well.” He kept himself amused at how ignorant Julius was to his own shadow. Klarion has gotten used to Alfred's sudden appearences, much like his own. Both of the men had a habit of appearing out of no where. He only managed to notice the families old butler because of the slinking swish of the man jumping into a shadow that he had heard so many times but disregarded. ||

Spotted. And so very soon... Alfred knew he was losing his touch, but it might also be that Klarion was just very perceptive. He had it in him to be a great leader, but could never be asked to apply himself. Then again, the boy was content where he was at. Many Solbergs before him were the same. He'd much rather if he listened in a little longer. It seems he had a new member of the staff to train. Since he was found, there was no need to hide anymore. He arose from his shadow behind Julius, his face plastered with that perpetual frown. "Good day, Lord Klarion." He bowed. He didn't need to bow, what with him being retired, but it was a force of habit now.

The maid was right everyone was present. Alfred had built a very clear profile of this generation, a skill he acquired in his forties. "And a good day to you all." Genevieve was present, so he had to keep his mind as still as he could. Something he had learned to do with the fourth lord's youngest daughter. He didn't want her to over hear what he had to say to Julius.

He was glad no one noticed his three day absence. Well, as Glad as a man as Abu Bakr Afridi could be.

Cecilia caught sight of Genevieve's expression if that look wasn't sharp enough to convey her anger, the way she delivered each word of her question would certainly finish the job. "Don't make that face. One of our guests is already hard enough to look at. I've got no intentions of losing my other eye." she stated, just above a whisper. "That goes double for ruining your precious teatime, Genevieve." Faced with Klarion's question, she donned an amused smile "No. You've got anger and fire in spades but if you've got a spine, this is the first I've heard of it." She paused at the mention of Alfred. True to his personality, he'd snuck into a shadow unseen. There was no telling how long he'd been gone. After all, she'd just returned to the estate herself.

When the boy heard Cecilia's comment towards Genevieve, he realized he must have missed what Genevieve said, and decided to stay out of it. However the boy couldn't help himself after Cecilia's comment towards Klarion. Despite his hard work to not laugh, he let out a slight snicker before returning back to his quiet state and sipping on his glass slightly before setting it down. Just the antics alone made this teatime interesting for him. He was beginning to think that he may enjoy his time here more than he enjoyed his time with his own family, but maybe it was the fact that it was something out I routine that was appealing to him. Only time would tell.

"Oh, dearest. Do you think I would sink so low? Tis' merely banter."

"I'm sorry, brother, but do you know yourself?" Alannah asked Klarion, one of her eyebrows arching in judgement. "I would not say fighting him is exactly beneath you." Her eyes narrowed, staring at the fresh cigarette her brother had slipped out. "Kindly put that out properly when you are done."

She glanced over at Wayne. To her satisfaction, he seemed to be behaving himself now. She would murder Cecilia if she ended up being a poor influence on him. Alannah brought the tea cup up to her lips and took a small sip. Despite the usual bantering, nothing was too chaotic.

"Alfred?" She watched as the old friend emerged from the shadows. It was an action she used to grin foolishly at when she was younger, but now found it terrifying. It reminded her of her dreams, well, nightmares. The fear only flashed across her eyes for a flicker of a second, however, and was quickly replaced with a bright smile. "It's nice to see you again."

"The pleasure is all mine, Lady Alannah." Out of every lord in this generation, Alfred worried about her the most. She was still finding her place in the world after all, something that took the other children not much time at all to figure out. Some days she was happy to see him. Other days, they were at odds. It seems this was a good day for her. Alfred opted not to get on her bad side. "My apologize for the absence. I had business to attend to elsewhere."

He knew that keeping lords and ladies of the estate in his stream of thought kept Genevieve from prying around his fore thoughts, so he kept at it. He didn't want the youngest lady to know what was going on in his head. After all, his somber thoughts contributed to the wisening of such a young child. Alfred didn't think he could forgive himself for that.

He turned to his Lady Cecilia, an adventurous sole. She was much like the second lord he served, finding answers that could not be found in the estate. She was notorious for running away and returning days later with a story to tell. Alfred used to scold her when she came home, but quickly came to realize it was something she needed. She grew up to be a fine lady of the estate, exceeding even his expectations. "Good to see you again, Lady Cecilia. I trust your recent escapade found you in good fortune." It was hard to tell what was going on the retired butler's head when his face was always plastered in a perpetual frown. Seeing her return did put him in a mood almost resembling jubilant. But then again, his mind kept going to somber places.

"More or less," Cecilia replied, "It's good to see you too." She thought a moment before deciding it was best not to ask the old man about where he'd been or what he'd been up to. In truth, he could ask her the same question and that was a subject she'd rather avoid for now. Alfred's business was none of hers unless he decided otherwise. "Whatever you've been doing, I hope it went well," she said. Something told her it hadn't. Perhaps it was the look on his face, but that had always been a little hard to decipher.

The boy acted as if he was looking down at a watch on his wrist, despite the fact that it was non existent. He did keep it under the table, so as not to provoke anyone or be rude. It was a teatime, how long could it take? While he found the tea enjoyable, and that antics hilarious, the anticipation of the coming battle between two Solbergs was to much for the young child to bear. Instead of making the bold move and asking how much longer it would be however, he took another slow and quiet sip of his tea before setting it back down on the saucer. Most of him hoped that Cecilia would win, but part of him believed that Klarion would. He didn't think much on it however, he would simply have to wait until the battle begun. While he tried to make it out to be a simple task, he knew that it would be no simple feat, after all he could barely wait until the match begun.

A rare sight indeed to witness a cavernous, warm exhale spout from Damien's mouth. His muscles groaned with fatigue and stiffness as he toiled over the flowers. The faster he moved his hands, the faster his mind faded away from his problems. For he was sure if the breakfast's battle was of any reference, the damage to the garden would be laborious to fix. All he had to do was keep on moving, and everything would be fine. There was no room in his heart for wavering, and so he clipped his flowers diligently until his arms were adequately filled. He wasn't certain whether tea time for the Solberg family was quite finished yet, so he signaled to a subservient gardener to inform him of the situation.

His patience was hardly tested as his fellow gardener returned with swiftness and knowledge. She whispered into his ear of the events that had transpired. His eyes provided insight into his inner emotions if only for a moment before he blinked. The edges of his lips strained themselves to keep their shape. "Thank you," the young man smiled, ruffling the brunette hair of the woman in front of him. "Now, take these flowers and deposit them into Lady Alannah's, Lord Julian's, and Sir Klarion's rooms with a note asking for their opinions," handing over the arrangements, Damien nodded for confirmation. She nodded back at him, a determined look in her eye. "Good, you have my undying gratitude," Damien commented, waving her off.

A tension alleviated from Damien's shoulders as his mental list of chores just got shorter. No, that wasn't the reason why his shoulders felt lighter. The luster of his tie had grown over time, and he could feel his magic take effect. "Thank the heavens," Damien sighed, caressing the accent of his tie. Constant maintenance of this garden was required to prepare it for the midseason soiree, and he couldn't afford to rest. The grass, the fields, the shrubs, the fountains all needed to be perfect for this event. It was going to be difficult, considering the rising tensions between the Solbergs, guests, and that new arrival.

The silver-haired Lord raised an eyebrow as Klarion spoke, but was looking behind Julius to...well, no one. He looked from behind him and back to Klarion a few times as Klarion addressed Alfred, a cranky old man that had lived here at the Estate for quite a while. As a boy, the old man frightened Julius some; that stare he would give, and his odd ability to just pop up out of nowhere, had been burned into his memory. Wait...pop up out of nowhere?

He turned around, and fell out of his chair with a shriek, falling to the floor. Alfred had appeared behind him without any warning, and as Julius righted himself, his siblings greeted the old butler as if nothing new had happened. "What is wrong with you people!?" He exclaimed with an annoyed look. He stood up and straightened his coat as he picked up the chair he had pushed over. "Mister Alfred, as happy as I am to see you with however long gone you've been, I certainly hope it was important enough to warrant giving me a heart attack!" He told the old man, sitting back down in his chair with a huff.

It took awhile for Wayne to notice the man just popping out of nowhere, and by the time he did it had lost his surprising effect. He simply laughed at Julius' exclamation as the man fell out of his from surprise. He had tried hard not to, but he found the situation quite laughable. He took another sip of the tea, wondering how much time had gone into this perfection. He guessed that as the saying goes 'You get what you pay for' and the Solbergs either payed a lot of had some staff that were unaware of their talents. Then again, the staff may have just been loyal. He finally drank the last bit of tea, seeking to savor every last enjoyable drop, before returning back to sitting back in his seat with his hands folded across his lap, his feeble attempt at being proper.
