The Human and the Arvion

At the age of 6, Ian was taken from his parents and lived with abusive humans, who would pluck his feathers, and break his wings, rendering him unable to fly. These humans however were associated with the Takamura name, once Ian's father, (Leon) found out about it, he was furious, and went to go hunt him down. Upon hearing that the Takamura leader was in hiding, he went in search of the man's son, Shumei, which leads to where we are now.

The day was ending soon, the sun was starting to sink below the horizon. An older Arvion male, with white wings flew through the sky, looking for a certain human, by the name of Shumei, he was the son of the leader of the Takamura family.

Finally spotting the younger male, he started to descend downward, to block the boy's path. He landed with a swift movement, making feathers flutter to the ground, giving some sort of effect to the moment.

"Are you Shumei Takamura?" the man asked, his voice dark, and rather angry sounding.

Shumei was on his way back from falling asleep in the park, it was honestly a dumb decision to take a nap there from the beginning, but it was better than whatever the teacher had planned for him in the algebra class. The sun was already shinning its last bright lights, and the sky was painted in the dark orange color of its last efforts, as he made his way back home, yawning loudly. The streets were empty, few humans or Arvions were left on the streets as it was getting rather late, and due to his own father's doing few dared to go out when the night approached them.

Halfway on his way home an Arvion appeared in front of him, blocking his path. White feathers fell down from the sky above them as if an angel had fallen, but this man was far from any angel, and Shumei knew that very well simply by judging the tone in this man's voice. Instead of answering the man, Shumei examined him a small while, thinking of what he should do in such a situation, before only letting out a loud sigh and looked back at the man with his only visible emerald color eye. "I do not need to answer someone who does not introduce themselves first. You are blocking my way," Shumei said to the man, giving him a quick cold glance before he tried to pass the man, wishing to avoid any kind of confrontation as he felt this was unnecessary.

The man glared at him, "If you wish, I will introduce myself, I am Leon McGee, no need to introduce yourself, I already know who you and your blasted father are," he growled, still blocked the boy's path. "Now tell me, where is your father?" he asked, a rather devilish smirk crossed his face as he looked down at Shumei. He knew the boy had the answer, but he knew that the boy may not give it to him, as it would be betraying his own father.

Shumei's effort of passing him failed, as he expected, and looked up at the man. Leon McGee... that rang no bells in his head whatsoever, but he was terrible at remembering names anyway. He hardly remembered what his homeroom teacher's name was, and had been yelled at several times for forgetting it. The mention of his father, made Shumei look at the Arvion now in front of him and the smirk that had spread across the Arvion's face. Of course that would be it... That bothersome father of mine... He keeps getting me in trouble, even after he went underground. Shumei thought as he avoided Leon's eyes, as they were giving him the chills.

"What that man does, is none of my concern. For all I know he might be dead, and for all I care he should be. Again, you're blocking my path, I'm going home. Go and bother someone else," Shumei answered Leon coldly, not thinking twice about his answer as he once again tried to pass the Arvion. Despite all the troubles that his father brought his way, it would be worse to put him in danger of being killed. It was none of his business what his father was doing anyway, so why should he get involved? Shumei only sighed at the very thought of his father and looked at his clock, it was getting late and he didn't want to waste more time on the stubborn Arvion in front of him.

Leon towered over the much shorter boy, "That wasn't what I was asking, I don't care what he's doing, I need to find him," he said, the roughness of his voice getting worse. This boy is so annoying, why won't he just tell me? he continued to block Shumei's path, his wings doing much of the work.

"I do not know. Now go and bother someone else," Shumei answered him directly, again being blocked by this man as he let out a sigh. He was clearly not going anywhere until this stubborn Arvion got the answer he desired, so for now it was better simply turning away and going the other way. Shumei knew he didn't do good with pushy people as they somehow managed to hit one of Shumei's few nerves in an annoying way, so instead of trying to pass Leon he turned his back on him and began walking the other way. It had to be easier this way as he no longer had to face the man, and he could simply walk away from yet another unpleasant encounter.

(*thinking of what to do that may end up cruel*)

Leon let a growl leave his lips as he took a step forward and slammed Shumei against the wall rather harshly, "That's not the answer I need," he said, so much anger was filling his voice, and he had lost control of his rage. He knew he would regret this afterwords, but at this moment he didn't care.

Shumei had no time to react to the growl behind him before he was forcefully slammed into the wall, as his breath was quickly slammed out of him. He looked up at Leon, he was clearly even more angry now that Shumei decided lie, but he wasn't about to sell out his family. That wasn't exactly true, but he didn't wish to get involved, pretending to know nothing was the only way to not be involved with such a bothersome and annoying group after all. "That's the only answer you'll get," Shumei answered Leon, looking him straight into the eyes not even fazed by being thrown into the wall from before. "Now, can you let me pass? I am going home. I don't have time to waste on you any longer," Shumei said to Leon, trying to get free from his grasp as he wanted to get out of the situation, and get something to eat. He was getting rather hungry after all.

Leon growled again, "You disgust me, do you know what I have gone through because of that sorry excuse of a man? He hurt my son, he can't even fly right now," he muttered, making sure that Shumei couldn't move away from his grip by wrapping his wings close enough to the both of them. "I want a real answer, because I know that you know where your father is, and I will force it out of you, even if i have to," he growled angrily.

Shumei only sighed as he saw his last routes to escape get sealed off, watching as the wings closed in on the two of them, no longer being able to move as much as he could. "What he has done does not concern me. I already told you, I do not know. You are not only wasting your time, but mine. Be a bit considerate about others," Shumei said with a sigh once again trying to move, but found himself unable to as Leon was still grasping him, it was almost starting to hurt, but this man knew nothing of what he had already been through, this was nothing. "I don't like repeating myself, so this is the last time. I do not know," Shumei repeated himself trying to think of a way to get out, but was only left sighing as he tried to grab his cellphone, maybe if he called the police or something they could help him out. Even if he sees my cellphone he'll end up being a bit distracted, probably going to look for father's number, luckily I don't have it. I don't want anything to do with that man, because if I do this is where I would end up, and that will be quite bothersome for me...

Leon glowered at him, "Do you really think I'd believe you? How can you not know?" he muttered, moving his arms so that one was grasping Shumei's hair, causing his head to be thrown back into the wall. The other was grasping both of the boy's hands, "I don't feel like dealing with little intitled brats, so let's put this simply, either tell me where he is, or you'll be unable to move for the next few days," he threatened.

From the shadows, a boy around Shumei's age watched, keeping his broken wings to his back as he watched the scene unfold. Damn it dad...I told you that I didn't want you hunting down anyone! Now you're just making empty threats, the kid is barely my age! He felt a small amount of anger go through him, I may have to step in.

"I wasn't expecting anything, just-" Shumei stopped as his hands were grabbed, making him drop his phone to the ground as yet another escape route was out of the question, as he barely tried to struggle out of his grasp, but quickly found out that was impossible. Leon's other free hand grabbed his hair and puled his head up to look at him, throwing his head back at the wall one more time. Ah... here it comes, the normal routine. I was wondering when he was going to begin, I was expecting this far earlier than it came. Maybe he's one of those slow guys, he sure seems like one of those deaf guys. I've already told him I don't know. Shumei thought as he looked at Leon, sighing as he was in quite the predicament at the moment, where his hope for escape had already left. "Go ahead, see if I care," Shumei told Leon, grinning from one ear to the other, bracing himself for an attack.

Leon let go of Shumei's hair, and placed his forearm against Shumei's neck, "You're just a worthless child," he growled, before pushing down harder, probably making it harder for Shumei to breath. "If you can't help me find your own father, why should you even live?" he growled, his anger was defiantly taking over rather rapidly.

Shumei was a bit relieved that Leon let go of his hair, it was getting quite annoying having his hair constantly pulled, but it was only for his forearm to be placed on his neck, slowly squeezing the air out of him. "Because I might be lying, and if I am... how are you going to find him? Or are you too dumb to realize that? You are such a bothersome person after all..." Shumei managed to squeeze out, trying his best not to show any clear signs of pain as the sun was now completely gone and the two of them was covered in the darkness of the night. I wonder if he's going to kill me... and if he's going to do it quickly or slowly. Then again... I've wondered about that many times, and I somehow always seem to pull through. Maybe if I die it'll give this bird brain some comfort.

Leon didn't say anything, but instead pushed harder. "If your lying then you might want to tell me, before i decide to kill you," he growled. He continued slowly forcing the air out Shumei's lungs until he felt a rather painful jerk to one of his wings, which made him jump back with a small yelp. He looked at who had caused it, coming face to face with his son. "What the hell are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay home."

Ian glared up at his father, wanting to move his shattered wings, but deciding against it as it would be painful. "He's my age, stop acting like your so important father, I've told you multiple times to just let it go, but your were stupid and decided to go and hurt someone. If you really want to prove our race is actually smart stop acting like a damn idiot!" he growled back.

Shumei didn't have enough air to answer back, as Leon pressed harder against his neck, as he felt the air slowly getting pressed out of him. However suddenly Leon stopped applying pressure to his neck, dropping him on the ground as Shumei had to hold his neck breathing heavily in and coughing as he had already lost quite the amount of air. He quickly looked up to see his 'savior' as it seemed that the two Arvions didn't just know each other, but also was related. Instead of one I'm going to have two on my tail? Why do I need to be in such a bothersome situation? Shumei thought as he saw his phone and picked it back up, placing it in his pocket before he stood back up.

He coughed a little bit more as he was slowly getting his breath back, not thinking about the two Arvions who were clearly standing there arguing about something, but he had been too busy coughing to catch anything that the two of them were saying. He didn't wish to interrupt them, so instead he began walked in the opposite direction. I swear Shunichi, you brought yet another troublesome situation come my way. I don't want to be bothered by such dumb people, if he wants to kill me then he should just go ahead already. It's not as if anyone would have cared if one more person dies, especially not with the "Takamura" name on his card. Shumei thought as he placed his hands in his pocket, walking away from the two of them.

Leon glared down at his son with a very annoyed look on his face, "They hurt you, and practically made your wings nothing more then shattered bone! You seriously don't have any grudge against them?!" he growled, fluttering his wings in annoyance, sending feathers fluttering to the ground. Because of all the stress, Leon's wings were slowly losing feathers, as he was malting.

Ian shook his head, and moved his wings a little, "I'll recover, if you kill someone you will be in jail for the rest of your life, is it really worth it? Or are you just being an idiot? Because I think its the latter," He snapped back, trying to get his stubborn father to understand his point of view was harder then he had ever imagined, but he would have to figure out some way to do it.

Shumei was already halfway home from the two Arvions that had approached him earlier, one trying to kill him and the other one was stopping him. It's not as if he could not sympathize with the one that wished him to die, but the other one that saved him was far more confusing. "It doesn't make any sense... Why would an Arvion save me anyway? I don't get it at all... what a weirdo," Shumei muttered to himself as he kept walking with both his hands in his pocket, wondering what he should eat for dinner as he had seemingly mostly forgotten what had happened already.

However the image of the other Arvion, the younger one, kept lingering in his head. The wings that was attached on his back were different, they were almost 'broken', and Leon did say that it was his father's fault. Was that what his father was doing now? Plucking their feathers?
"What twisted mind he has, I would rather not get involved in his troublesome world. There is a reason why I am living on my own," Shumei continued to mutter as he finally was home, unlocking the door he walked inside. The second he stepped inside his phone rang, as it was an hidden number, and he sighed. It was obvious who it was already...

"I told you to stop calling me. You are being annoying," Shumei said as he took the phone, looking out the window to see if there was anyone there.

"I know. I just wanted to make sure you were okay," His father answered his cold response, unfazed by it as he had gotten used to the coldness in Shumei's voice when they were talking.

"I am none of your concern. Stop bothering me," Shumei said once again coldly, as his father only chuckled in response as a small sound of what seemed to be a shout in the background could be heard through the phone.

"You're my son, that should be enough for you to be my concern," He answered Shumei, as he only sighed as a response.

"I won't pick up next time. Don't call me again, I don't want to get involved in your twisted troublesome world," Shumei said and hung up, sighing heavily before he contined making his meal.

Leon looked away from his son, in utter disgust, "If you seriously think that, after all I've done for you, there is something very wrong with you, and if you are willing to defy my order and follow me when I tell you to stay home. And if you cannot understand what the humans have done to you and why I have done what I've done, then don't you think your the stupid one?" He asked, not a single bit of remorse, or caring in his voice. It was just cold...empty, uncaring. It showed no sign of the loving father that Ian was used to.

Ian looked at his father with a pained face, "If you really think that, then why do I bother trying to reason with you? Even mother turns a blind eye to your actions. I will not stand it any longer, I can't. I can't turn a blind eye while you hunt down humans, I-I won't allow it!" he declared turning away from his father, to hide the tears that threatened to fall down his face. He couldn't show his father weakness, not now, not ever.

Shumei had managed to enjoy his meal alone as his phone had been ringing off like crazy, and he had almost decided to throw it out the window at one point, but voted against it in case 'Leon' came back, maybe he would be quick enough to call help the second time around. Shumei looked outside again, to see the stars blinking down on him as he sighed. What an eventful day... I should just skip school tomorrow, but thinking of a reason is too bothersome... I'll probably just get beaten up if I walk outside anyway, but it's not as if I don't understand why... Stupid name. Shumei thought to himself as he looked over at the clock, to only sigh once again.

Instead of walking back to his bed he took off his black cardigan and threw it over himself like a blanket and decided to sleep on the couch. It was just as comfortable as the bed. Shumei removed the eye patch over his right eye as it was a bother sleeping with it on, and he couldn't see anything on it anyway, so even if it was off it didn't really matter.
I wonder what Leon meant though... if he was going to kill me... why did he wait? And if the other guy wanted to save me... what reasons does he have? Maybe they don't feel enough satisfaction from killing me quickly, maybe they want to torture me first... I honestly don't get it at all... Shumei thought, as he closed his eyes to finally get some sleep inside, hopefully undisturbed as well.

Leon glared at his son, now the back of his head because the boy had turned around, "If you really think that way, then leave, I don't need a disrespectful son anyway," he growled, before spreading his wings and flying upwards in a single movement, "Don't bother coming home," was his last retort as he flew off, heading back to the home where Ian was no longer welcome.

Ian stared at the ground, many emotions going through his mind, mostly of anger, but there were hints of sadness as well. He then snapped out of his daze and let out a slight growl, "Sorry excuse for a father, I wanted to leave anyway," he said to himself, now that his father was gone. He sighed and turned around to go find shelter of some sort.

Shumei woke up after his quick nap, it was still dark, but the weather had worsened and it was now raining. A small smile appeared on Shumei's face as there was nothing he liked more than rain, there were no people on the streets, no noisy cars and the only sound that could be heard for miles was the sound of the rain hitting his roof. Shumei was no longer tired as he sat up on the couch and ruffled through his hair, making it more messy than it was from the beginning. "Where did I place my book?" Shumei asked himself as he stood up and began looking for it effortlessly around the room, but he quickly realized that the book was back at the park where he had fallen asleep along with his bag.

"That's bothersome... suppose I have no other choice though..." Shumei said to himself as he grabbed his jacket and his umbrella before he exited his apartment and began his long walk back to the park, at the very least the white Arvion would no longer be there, unless they had stayed there to argue the entire evening, something which was highly unlikely.

Currently Ian was sitting outside, getting soaked in the rain, since he couldn't find anywhere to go. He didn't have any money, and it was around midnight. He leaned back against a building and sighed, 'I'll probably get a cold from doing this...' he thought to himself. He pulled his coat closer trying to reserve heat, so that he wasn't so cold. Though it didn't help much as the jacket itself was soaked through, and it just made him colder.

Shumei was almost all the way to the park when he spotted the featherless Arvion from earlier, it was the one that had 'saved' him from the other one. He didn't say anything as he slowly approached him and began taking off his jacket, before he threw it over the Arvion and gave him the umbrella. He looked cold, and he didn't like being indebted to anyone, it would only backfire later. "You shouldn't stay out in the cold. It'll become bothersome for others," Shumei said as he stood there and let the rain drip down on him, taking a few steps back away from the Arvion to show that he was not planning on taking the stuff he gave him back, but was still standing there simply looking over at him.

Ian looked at him before sighing and looking away, "No where to go," he said simply. Not really want to explain his current situation, he hated sharing sob stories.
