• Sorry to add more here, it's just that five traits doesn't fully encompass a person to me and I felt the need to expand.
  
  
  And let me just say that Doré has a level of differentiation between her 'onstage self' and her 'offstage self' similar to that of people with multiple personalities - when she's acting she's as different from her actual self as night is from day. Which is how such an introverted snark managed to get hired as such an enthusiastic, friendly character (and how she's so good at dealing with people in the park when she's not good at dealing with them when she's not working).
  
  
  Out of Character/When not performing
  
  
  Doré is in many ways like Rapunzel - but not the one she plays. She's closer to the one from the original Grimm's fairytale, and had a somewhat similar life (see 'Other') section. She's only open when she's performing - when she's in the dress and the wig she's bright and bubbly and properly naïve and world-happy about everything, but she tends to be rather the opposite when she's not working or 'out of character'.
  
  
  Doré is a very… conservative person. She's highly introverted and has spent most of her life prior to her time at Disney alone. Because of this she has trouble talking to people without the mask of a character and often will shy away from a conversation if there are too many participants when she's 'just herself'. She's simply not comfortable with large numbers of people. She's also highly naïve - she was raised by her grandmother and, due to health problems early in life and her grandmother's general mistrust of the world around them, was kept inside for most of her formative years. While she's learned a lot in the time since she's been out in the world she's still woefully undereducated in some subjects. Thanks to this a lot of pop culture references and innuendos can fly right over her head.
  
  
  She started out very trusting of everyone - after all she'd never learned to be otherwise - but along the road that took her to the Happiest Place on Earth she's learned that there are a lot of bad people out there in the world. As such she can be very mistrusting, and often things that her grandmother was right about the outside world - and that perhaps leaving her care wasn't the best decision she could have made. She tends to be very distrustful of people's motives these days and has a hard emotional shell up at all times. She's built her own internal tower and lives at the top of it, must as the character she represents once did (though, obviously, for entirely different reasons) - the only difference is that she is not willing to let her hair down.
  
  
  She can be rather snarky and sarcastic, and tends to hide behind the sharpness of her tongue a lot of the time. She's been burned before and she isn't fond of the idea of putting herself out there again - either because it might end in heartbreak or because she's worried that she'll be scorned for her lack of knowledge (in the street smarts sense - she's plenty book smart, since she didn't have much to do around the house other than cram her head full of useless knowledge in a desperate attempt to entertain herself) about the world around her. Honestly, if her natural personality had anything to do with her casting she should have been Meg, but the dramatic transformation that comes when she changes into costume pushed her more into the role of Rapunzel, who seems to fit her like a glove, no matter how unlikely the casting might seem before one sees her actual performance.
  
  
  In Character/As Rapunzel
  
  
  The moment Doré slips into her dress and puts her (really very heavy) wig on it's like someone flipped an internal switch - she becomes an entirely different person. She's bright and friendly and open as can be. Her smile, while seemingly permanently affixed to her face, looks totally natural, and her interest in each and every new thing comes off as totally genuine. She's transfixed with the world around her as only those who have spent their lives shut away can be - she marvels at the things around her, and takes true interest in each and every one of the children she poses for pictures with and talks to.
  
  
  Doré carries with her a certain wide-eyed wonder and innocence she hasn't legitimately felt in years when she's in character - it's almost as if she reverts back to the way she was before she left home the first time (again, see 'Other' section). Her walls are down and she's a true treasure to be around. Slightly awkward in the 'I've never been around so many people and outside before' way, mixed with a streak of confidence, excitement, and daring that fits to Rapunzel's character charmingly well. She has a natural chemistry with her other actors and is incredibly friendly - even backstage. She keeps her bright personality up and stays in character from the moment the costume is on until the moment she takes it off. It's almost impossible to recognise her as the same person in character as out.

  Doré was born unplanned and unwanted by her mother, who had her at the age of sixteen. Horrified at the prospect of raising a child, Doré's mother dropped her off on her parents doorstep and took off, leaving behind a wailing baby and little else. Doré's grandmother, on the other hand, loved Doré deeply, no matter the fact that she hadn't expected a grandchild so early. She took to her with a deep affection and raised her as a second daughter - one she was determined would not go the way of the first. Doré was raised in a very strict but loving environment, and was home schooled for the entirety of her pre-colligate life. She was rarely allowed outside and was secluded almost totally, her grandmother-turned-mother fearing that if she allowed Doré into the outside world the young girl would surely run away and become burdened with child just as her mother had done.
  
  
  And you know what? To some extent she was right. Sometime after her seventeenth birthday Doré decided to go on a little excursion on her own when her grandmother was away for a few days, wherein she met a boy of a similar age to her own. She fell deeply and instantly for him - in part because she'd never really talked to someone of her age before, let alone someone handsome - and allowed him to sweep her off her feet. She ran away with him shortly after, much to her grandmother's sorrow, convinced that this was 'true love' as just about every seventeen year old is. Turns out that what she saw as 'True Love' he saw as 'Easy Sex', and shortly after she gave her everything to the boy Doré found herself abandoned. Fortunately enough she wasn't pregnant from the encounter, but she did come away swearing off people as a whole. Once bitten and twice shy, she's been rather bitter and standoffish ever since. Too ashamed to return to her grandmother, but needing a way to earn funds enough to support herself Doré turned into what every young girl in New York is at some level - a waitress aspiring to be an actress. Through this she found herself falling in love with taking on other characters - she could become someone else easily and loved to do so. What's more, any attachments she formed while in character were easy to drop off when she shucked her costume, and so she didn't need to fear the risk of rejection and abandonment. Eventually her path of auditions led her to apply for a position within the Magic Kingdom - she was absolutely thrilled when she got the job, and that's about the point where her story joins this one.

  Doré has short blonde hair in a simple pixie cut that she keeps neatly tailored, mostly because it makes it easier to get her wig on and keep it there. No one wants a ton of hair under a wig (it just gets way too hot), and her hair for Rapunzel is far longer then she could naturally grow out, so it's definitely a wig, unlike some face characters. She's not the tallest, standing at about 5'4'', and has a delicate frame with a pointed nose but childishly rounded cheeks and fine features in terms of skin tone.
