This is your off-duty channel.​

Here’s where we plot, joke, hype each other up, and scream about in-character drama. But just like spacewalks, there are protocols to follow so nobody gets spaced.

1. Be respectful.
   This is a mature, inclusive space. No bullying, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or anything that makes others uncomfortable. Zero tolerance.
   
2. Keep the drama in-character.
   IC betrayal? Love triangles? Spooky psychic visions? YES.
   OOC fights, passive-aggressive comments, or call-outs? Absolutely not.
   
3. Communicate with clarity.
   Need to take a break? Want to bow out gracefully? Just let us know! Life happens, and we’re all cool as long as you keep us in the loop.
   
4. Tag or DM when plotting directly with someone.
   It helps keep the OOC chat tidy and avoids confusion. Big plot convos? Feel free to take them to DMs or a plotting thread.
   
5. No spamming or flooding.
   It’s okay to get excited—but try not to flood the chat with five messages in a row if it can fit in one.
   
6. Have fun. Hype each other. Be cool.
   We’re here to tell a creepy, cinematic story together. Support your fellow writers, share playlists, scream about your ships. Make this a vibe.

I really love the vibes you have for this- so intriguing! Before I start crafting a CS in earnest, just wanted to check in with everyone ( noil Bronco ) on which role(s) you were angling for? That way I can avoid doubling up if I can. I'm most interested in the Merc, followed by the Techie, but if y'all are already dead-set on those I could probably go for the Captain or the Outlaw.

Hey all, my merc is up- hope you like (and DreamRider1 hope everything in her profile works- I made sure to read through everything you put up) ^^

I've also outlined some ideas I had for plots/shared backstory in the 'Relational' section of her CS- lmk what you guys think? For the characters I don't yet have ideas for, please do feel free to toss some my way~

Found it! Very helpful and great read (kyrellium is giving me Crystal Skull vibes- gotta bring it back to Akator! ;P )~

Perhaps we could give people time to get in CSes and do some plotting before opening the main thread up for posting? We don't even have a captain (or, indeed, most of the crew) yet :/

Totally! Like I said in my proposed plots, just based on the archetypes I think it would be great if the Muscle and Merc were meathead buddies, and after reading Ace's profile I'd say these two are perfect for each other- especially since Thrym would be totally impervious to Ace's snark and not care about it never giving straight answers to things.

Also, since there's so much overlap in their skillsets, I'd say it would be hilarious if they played a game of one-upmanship against each other on combat, surveillance, and interfacing with systems. Like 'I'm picking up movement about three clicks north- heavily armed', 'Well I'm picking up that they're in a T-550 Rover and their primary weapons are NC-3s; also, the driver is complaining they didn't have enough to eat for breakfast' ;P

I think they could easily have gotten buddy buddy over the course of the voyage, since it probably took the ship a minute to reach Vega Prime, though I'd also be open to them knowing each other pre-mission as well ^^

Understandable- excited impatience is, after all, a hallmark of RPing~ I just tend to get nervous without at least ballpark timeframes for 'this is how long people who stated interest have to get in a CS, after which we will start'. I also get worried when RPs with a defined leader role in the cast don't have that role filled before the RP's start (though that's really only ever an issue if the GM is unskilled, which I don't believe you are ;P ).

Anyway, in the meantime perhaps you could assuage your impatience by plotting with people as they join? xD

Ahaha yess, let the rivalry friendship begin! Honestly I think Thrym would be jealous of Ace's ability to be smoothly snarky in social situations when even just meeting someone for the first time gives her a damn panic attack xD

Honestly that should work. I didn't nail a hard date on it, but the botched hijacking could've happened when Roddy was a bit younger, and Natasha was at the latter part of her merc days.
