Roleplay Type(s)
The first year of their grand opening of Hogwarts School it had taken the founders years to get everything setup and established now it was time. They had gone around the world selecting students they thought would best fit within their school. So now here they all were boarded upon the Hogwarts express as they traveled into a world of mystery and delight the founders made their ways amongst the students as they traveled. The students would still have another hour or so before they arrived so it was best to form some connections before arriving. Once they arrived they would all be sorted into the houses best suited to them by the rules set forth by the founders themselves.

The air was filled with the buzzing of conversations, magic, and the scents of fresh treats as a kind woman went to each section delivering food for the kids. They were all free to roam and cast magic as they awaited to arrive at what would become their home for the next several years. Though of course there were plenty of adults around ready to stop anything from going too far as not all the students were on the same level of learning. The train chugged along blowing its whistle every now and then as the countryside showed out the windows the bright and lovely.

(The students are all free to mingle and guess which houses they will be placed in! They’ll be arriving at the school soon and currently have the ability to speak with the founders, teachers, and one another before the school term officially starts!)

You are worth finding. Worth knowing. Worth loving. You and all your one million layers. I know you think yourself to be full of poems and rage but you are more than your anger. I miss the girl who was really happy.

    - Your big bro

/* ------ right side ------ */

Clara had been on the fence about upping and starting a new school, especially when she had been so close to graduating from her original school, but it wasn't like there was much she had a say in when it came to the rest of her family. Her mother made all of the decisions, her father went along with them, and Cosmo was irritatingly over the moon at the idea of going to a new school that had just opened.

She had to admit, it didn't sound like a terrible idea for there to be schools more catered to and around their magic. It was hard to learn everything on her own at home or with tutors, but she supposed those as stupid as her brother would require a more rigidly strict program to keep them on the right track to be something more than a fountain of Quidditch facts. Something that wasn't even useful when there were so many fans of the sport already. Really, the analogy was to paint her brother in a bad light but in hindsight it had been generous given her true opinion of him.

Cosmo sat across from her in their compartment of the train, rambling on and on and on about all of the things he hoped the school would have and how excited he was to be able to go to a school that allowed them to leave the house for longer periods of time than just a few hours a day. Clara supposed he was right on that one; neither of them enjoyed their time home. She wondered why Cosmo didn't when he was the golden child, but then she decided she didn't care.

"What house do you think I'll be placed in?" Cosmo asked, brown eyes blown wide in childlike wonder. This wasn't the first time he'd asked his sister this question (nor the hundredth), but he still looked just as fascinated as he had the first time he did. Sometimes it was more like she had a five year old brother instead of one that was the same age as her, which made it difficult to dislike him during times like these. Still, it had been a long and uneventful trainride. Clara was bored.

"I don't know, maybe they'll make up a whole house just for you." She replied dryly, faking a smile. Cosmo seemed unphased by her sarcasm (more likely unaware) and his face beamed as if she'd said something far nicer than she actually had.

"I mean, who could blame them?" Cosmo joked, motioning to himself. "I mean, have you met me?"

Clara scoffed, turning her head and looking out the window. The sun was finally starting to set, painting the sky a pretty array of red, orange and purple colors. Trees zipped by at a fast rate but there was still no school in sight. She hoped she wouldn't be stuck on the train for much longer. It was hard keeping Cosmo entertained but she was starting to get antsy. Her body was aching from sitting for so long and though she had napped part of the ride, she felt groggy from an entire day wasted doing nothing but sitting.

// both are open for interactions! if nobody interacts with them ill have clara leave the compartment and someone else can go in to see cosmo or bug clara. ill get cosmo's pov up once more people have a chance to reply

Sebastian Black
Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
Sebastian Black strode through the narrow aisles of the Hogwarts Express, his tall frame cutting a distinguished figure amidst the dimly lit carriages. His dark green eyes scanned his surroundings in search of a familiar face among the multitude of new ones, walking past sliding doors and hearing snippets of hushed conversations that echoed through the wooden interior. It was mostly nervous young wizards talking about how excited they were to see the new school and get sorted into their houses.

There was no trace of nervousness in Sebastian—and that much was obvious in the way he carried himself, each step of his exuding a quiet confidence as the warm glow of the lanterns framed his dark features. With Hogwarts promising him partial freedom from his parents' watchful eyes, Sebastian hadn't made any effort to find his uncle who had landed a job as one of the professors—the last thing he wanted to do was spend more time with family, even if Draven wasn't as bad as the others. Instead, Sebastian hoped to find more of his friends who had received a letter of invitation too, bored of talking to Augustus Featherington who really knew how to drag a conversation out.

Passing by one of the compartments and glancing through the doors, Sebastian's eyes finally landed on two faces he recognised. They weren’t exactly who he’d been looking for, but he did know Clara and Cosmo Winter. Of course he did. They were wealthy and noble purebloods like himself, so naturally, their families were acquainted. No one appeared to be sitting with them yet and he figured it wouldn’t hurt to check in with them, even if one of the siblings were less fond of him than the other.

The dark-haired male gave the compartment door a knock to make his presence known before sliding it open and looking inside. “Cosmo, Clara.” Sebastian nodded at the pair respectively to greet them. “I thought I recognised the two of you.” he added, closing the compartment door behind him and taking the seat nearest to the door on Cosmo’s side. The interior of the compartment was cosy, its surroundings lit by both the lanterns' golden hues and what remained of the setting sunlight still shining through the window. The polished wooden walls reflected the flickering light of the lanterns, casting ever so faint dancing shadows.

“I trust your journey has been as uneventful as mine?” he jested, just glad to not be stuck talking to Augustus anymore. Briefly glancing out the window after he asked the question, he thought to himself that it was at least beautiful outside.

‘ Do us proud Charlotte , Show this school what being a Malfoy is about!’

Lottie kept echoing the last words, that Her parents had spoken to her, before she had boarded to Hogwarts Express. As she was off on the long journey to the new up and coming wizarding school that her parents had requested even with her days and weeks of complaining that she attend. It would only be good for the Malfoy Family, to have a child attend such a school as Her father mentioned as being their youngest child and a daughter. She was well aware that, they were not exactly giving her a choice in the matter. Much to her complaints. She had been very spoiled and hardly ever had to lift a finger so this was much displeasing for her.

She had settled into a compartment near the front of the train. After awhile Lottie fluffed out her fancy grey dress while she tucked a blonde curly back into her snood (a fancy hair net ) as she was was trying to keep her appearance in tip top shape even on this blasted train. Trying to avoid getting any where near the much less germaphobe, fellow people on the train. She was a Malfoy after all and Malfoys were a proud wizarding family. Which she was determined to bring her family the same amount of honor. Well, as much as she could, with it being her only job was to add to the family by eventually finding a match of the same level or higher. That was the way of her family after all ! And she was proud to uphold the same values.

Even if a lot of families were slowly losing that same level of pride that her family seemed to share. Which was a shame in her opinion. But alas, she would just not associate with those sorts of people. All she knew is that she just needed to find the way to get the attention that she so desperately craved among this crowd and seek attention from the right sort of people. She had been starting out of the compartment window for awhile enjoying the view from the train. Before eventually being bored enough to pull out her needlepoint, as she began to painstaking rethread the needle to continue to work on her embroidery. This was an activity her parents would approve of after all!

She honestly was enjoying being the sole person in that compartment for the moment. Though she would eventually grow bored enough go find attention somewhere. But for now she was sitting in silence while working on her simple embroidery project, while she enjoyed the simple silence of being alone with her own thoughts. Though part of her was absolutely curious to see what would happen at this school. But soon enough she was certain, that she would find out.

She had only taken a few steps through the train and her energy had already been drained. The constant chattering of what felt like hundreds of students, a number greatly exaggerated in her head, continued even as Evelynn made her way past them, eager to find a quiet compartment. In reality, the hurried taps of her footsteps could have just as easily been as loud as the conversing witches and wizards. The timid blonde was one of the last of the aspiring students to board the Hogwarts Express, and she approached it from the opposite side, but that didn't stop her from being as quick and diligent as possible. Her eyes caught an open seat in a compartment of several others; none of whom she recognized.

She wore a simple, mid-quality off-white dress with a mahogany-colored corset around her waist. It was like the witch crawled from a storybook, with a beauty that had not matched the social status that her attire had suggested-- or, more than likely, an intricate care for her appearance on the first day of school.

A glance was given between Sebastian, Clara, and Cosmo. Her lips parted as though she wished to say something, and she stared at the trio for what was likely far too long for comfort. Moments passed in silence before Eve would finally move on past their compartment, awkwardly staring forward again as she clutched a book to her chest. She had almost broken her first rule of engagement on this train: do not be the first to speak up.

As she made her way further to the front of the Hogwarts Express, she found what was currently a lone compartment with one woman, who was fiddling with an embroidery. Evelynn decided to sit herself down across from Lottie-- a choice which she hoped that she would not come to regret-- though she chose not to say a word. Instead, she chose to stare out the window, as if waiting for the train to move so that it could take her away from this place.

victoria

the gryffindor

Despite the reality that Victoria Ashworth was embarking on a new, unfamiliar path in her life, the tension that had plagued the young, dark-haired girl's muscles seemed to ease some upon boarding the Hogwarts Express. Leaving behind the life she had come to know and the family that had inevitably come with it for a little while was of little loss to her. If anything, it was almost liberating. While she had little idea of what challenges she would face at the freshly constructed school of magic she would be attending, she was fairly confident she would be able to handle whatever that was to be thrown her way. After all, she had survived this long.

However, Victoria had not truly escaped the entirety of her family. The boy who sat across from her in the relatively small compartment was proof of such. Rhys Nightingale was her uncle's son—her cousin. Although Rhys had never been as wicked as the rest of the family was, he was just as complicated and aloof. He was the kind of person who might send shivers down one's spine. If Victoria had not practically been raised with him, she might have felt just that. Instead, her cousin's company brought some level of comfort and familiarity to the half-blood.

"Do you think it will be long before we get there?" she inquired, unconsciously fidgeting with the edges of the silk cloak she wore. If she were to be honest, Victoria detested sitting and waiting for long periods of time. It did not help that her current company was more or less ignoring her by pretending to slumber. Well, perhaps he was not exactly pretending to sleep, but rather he had essentially closed himself off from conversation by keeping his eyes closed and remaining silent. Even so, the act did not discourage her from continuing her rambling.

"Do you think we will know anyone attending?" She continued, "Personally, I'm not sure how I would feel about such if so. I never much cared for the majority of the company your parents entertained... But, I suppose it could make things a little more interesting though, don't you agree?"

"Cousin?"
But, her cousin did not respond to her inquiry, nor her direct acknowledgement of him. Alternatively, he chose to continue his little ruse. Insufferable bastard. Maybe if she just gave his shin a little kick—

"Don't," he warned, cracking open his molten honey eyes as if he had somehow sensed her contemplation. Had the his eyes been open, he might have truly been able to glimpse at her thoughts as Rhys possessed a particular skill that allowed him entry to other's thoughts. But, in this case, it seemed that it had simply been Rhys’s knowledge of her character and, perhaps, a gut feeling that had caused him to respond in such a way. "You'll have your answers soon enough, Ash."

A jolt of sweet victory flared inside of her. She lifted her chin slightly as a smile took form on her full lips. "I wasn’t doing anything nor having any sort of wicked thoughts, dear cousin. I was merely giving some thought to the near future and was sharing my inquiries with you." She replied, feigning innocence. By the quirk of his brow, it was evident that he knew she was just jesting him though.

"No matter, I suppose you are right. I shall have my answers soon enough." With that, Victoria turned her attention away from Rhys to peer out the small window beside her.
