Essentially at the beginning she was against the party and had arrested them for conspiring against the kingdom. See she was of the belief magic was evil as her kingdom had taught. But then one of the party members finally showed her how horrible her supperiors when they pointed out they were crafting an infant mage which was an automatic soft spot for Selra. So she broke them out and confronted her old commander.
