The Fall of Wonderland

Hey guys! I just want to check if there is any interest for this idea I had for a role-play. Basically, its going to based off the tale Alice in Wonderland, though its going to take a few darker elements, like horror and insanity, since theres nothing on RpN quite like it. The plot will base itself on a group of player characters who find themselves in a new revised Wonderland, which has since been taken over by Alice herself, though Alice has long since lost her mind after murdering the Queen of Hearts and stealing the throne from her. All of Wonderland has effectively become her plaything, a land of sorrow at the whim of Alice's insane decrees, and generally the inhabitants are put through misery for her entertainment. Eventually, she gets bored of tormenting her own subjects, and so calls upon the White Rabbit to take people from the world above and bring them to Wonderland, so she can agonize them at her leisure. This is where you come in.


I'll get working on it right away if theres enough people interested, and I'll post updates to the thread as I develop the storyline/plot. I'm looking for around four of five people before I get working on it. If anyone has any ideas or questions, feel free to ask me, and I'll be happy to answer them.

i think in order to have this continue for a longer time, you'd need a stronger plot line??? i've seen RPs with really good ideas fail because there's no apparent plot line(s).

Alright, so since theres a few people interested but want to see more of the plot, I'll post what ive worked on so far.

Alice sat alone in her throne room, as she normally did to recover after a long day of 'checking up' on the citizens of Wonderland. Her Wonderland.


The Throne she sat on was still stained with the blood from her encounter with the Queen of Hearts, she liked seeing that red splatter there every-so-often, it reminded her of the Queen's rather remarkable way of living, always so addicted to chopping off people heads, especially hers. Alice couldn't understand it, why chop off someones head, and have all the fun gone in seconds, when you could play with them for much more time. Terribly inefficient of her, it seemed, but it still garnered a bit of fascination from Alice, enough fascination to have the Queen's headless corpse portrayed as a trophy in the throne room.


Alice heaves herself off the bloodied throne after a moment of pondering, her complex dark dress fluttering momentarily in the air as she gets up. She had been getting rather bored of her current subjects... she needed something new, something fresh. What would the Queen do in such a situation?


She had it. With a ravenous smile and a click of her fingers, she summons her faithful servant, the White Rabbit, to her side. She stands and stares at the small creature for a moment, she didn't have very many loyal servants, but she was pleased that the Rabbit, in his small suit and tie and constantly clicking watch, decided to stay by her side. She would have been upset to kill him if he didn't.





"I need you..." Alice says slowly, beginning a careful pace around the room. "...to go up to the surface world, see if you can't find me any new friends to play with." The Rabbit stays silent, checking his watch momentarily before nodding and writing something in a small notebook kept in his suit pocket, and giving her a bow before rushing out of the room. Alice's pacing stops as she collapses back onto her throne with a heavy sigh, she knew it would only be a matter of time now.


The Rabbit transverses Alice's Wonderland rather quickly, taking in the atmosphere before he had traveled back to the bland surface world. The Castle no longer was covered with the Queen's cherished red roses, having been replaced with monstrously sized thornbushes that Alice adored so dearly. The sky was almost always immersed with black clouds, threatening rain that never really came. The forest remained much like it was under the Queen's reign, the Mad Hatter was still... well, mad. Though perhaps Alice had plans to change that to, the Forest had certainly grown more vicious under her influence.


After a while, the Rabbit finally makes his way to the far end of Wonderland, where the tunnel to the surface world could be found. He takes one last look behind him before he enters, he doubted that he would even find anyone to make it through the Forests of Wonderland, let alone make it to the castle. Regardless, he had been set his task, and so he prances into the tunnel... to find some more victims.

Quick question: so with the inhabitants of Wonderland, are they going to be people that we could rp as to interact with the people from the surface world, or are they going to just be npc's, or did you have something else in mind?

I was planning to have a few of the more prominent characters of Wonderland played by players, such as the Mad Hatter, Tweedledee/Tweedledum, Cheshire cat etc. Though most would be NPCs. I also have something secret planned for one of the surface world characters :3

ok another question (hehe sorry): Is there a specific reason why the white rabbit picked certain people to go down the rabbit hole, like from an experience they faced or something about them, or was it just totally random? (if these questions are bugging you i can stop if you'd like)

Don't apologize for asking questions, its ok I appreciate someone being inquisitive cause it lets me work out some finer details that I may have overlooked :big grin: This being one of them, to be honest.


Anyway, to answer, the White Rabbit would pick people who have particularly interesting quirks or characteristics that would suit them coming to Wonderland. Even the tiniest quirk would be considered. For example, perhaps someone who hates a certain color for no particular reason, or spends their free time pulling the wings off flies, maybe even someone who prefers to sit on the arm of a seat instead of the seat itself, just tiny things that might be considered weird or out-of-place in our world would be welcomed into Wonderland.

Anyway, since there is a bunch of interest in the idea, I'll try finish up turning it into an actual RP soon I'll tag everyone who comments on or likes something in this post so they know when I've finished :big grin:
