?AUTHOR'S NOTES?
A Beast Tamer and vowed warrior of the Valkyries.
Hello and welcome to "The Fall of Gaia : The Lost War." I'm very pleased to hear that you have interest in taking part in my roleplay. It was inspired by a favorite game of mine but then grew into something much more and far off from my original idea. I put a lot of time, effort, and thought into this roleplay and hope you enjoy it and like the concept. And yes, this is my second attempt with the roleplay. I wasn't thoroughly attached to my characters and didn't like how the roleplay started so inspiration was lost rather quickly. Here's to a new try!
About Character Creation; here you can create your own unique character to feature in the roleplay of The Fall of Gaia, but before you start creating a character, make sure you have a firm grasp on how the race, class, and additional information of your character will work in the storyline. If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ section or ask me yourself. Before your character is accepted, my co-Game Master Humor or I will inspect your character down to the smallest detail to make sure they will flow well with the storyline and do not conflict with any additional information or plans I have for the roleplay. I do ask that all characters carrying the "Mary Sue" gene, please be saved for another roleplay because all characters here need depth and unique characteristics in order to survive the Lost War.
I am accepting characters at any time until further notice and everyone participating in the roleplay is allowed up to four characters at a time; meaning, if you kill off one of your characters or if they die, you are free to create another one. However, you cannot duplicate a character that has died and must come up with a new, unique character to play. Characters can die and if your character finds themselves in a battle they can't handle, they may die. So proceed with caution and have fun creating your character!
I hope you enjoy your time here and thank you very much!
?RULES?
Eva, the Goddess of Equality.
- Literacy. This roleplay is made for the literate; please be knowledgeable of being literate and having proper grammar. Being literate does not mean you have to be an extremely high experienced roleplayer. There will be no punishment or shame if you forget to place a comma in a certain spot or how to spell a word. This is an understanding roleplay.
- No one-liners. This roleplay will never, ever accept one-liners and those who continuously post one paragraph. This roleplay is driven off of creativity and detail, so please be kind those roleplaying with you and respond with as much creativity as you can to move the roleplay forward.
- No Mary-Sues. All characters come with flaws, different personalities, and weaknesses. No character is perfect and I personally will not allow any characters in this roleplay with the typical characteristic combination of timid, shy, frail, with a tragic back story of her parents beating her for everyone to pity her. If there is one character I cannot stand, it's that character. Have a realistic character.
- No claiming a character. When I say "no claiming a character," I mean you cannot look at someone else's character and say, "Hey, can they be my character's love interest?" For one, they've never met. For two, that's just annoying.
- Do not mix character photos. In Character Creation, I do not want a mixture of photos from real to anime to descriptions. Photos are allowed, but they are only "anime" types, and I do not want characters with modern day clothes and school girl outfits flooding my fantasy world roleplay, thank you.
- No God Moding. This goes for all races and types of characters. No character is indestructible, whether they are a God or not. Here, I make the decision of who dies and who does not die. If your characters get into a fight, fight realistically. Also, this means you cannot kill off Gloia's Beasts without my agreement and you cannot take over my roleplay. If Gloia or Gaia are reborn or if another God takes over or even if someone else becomes a God, it will be on my call.
- Be polite. While taking part in my roleplay, you must be kind and polite to all roleplayers. I do not want to see any fights between roleplayers or someone will be kicked out of my roleplay.
- PG-13. I'm not one-hundred percent sure the full rules on PG-13 on this site and if I am wrong, I will correct myself. But anything past kissing must go somewhere else. As long as it's not on our main thread or where we can see it, I don't care what happens as long as it goes somewhere else. Other than that, we will keep a PG-13 rating on this roleplay in general.
- Four characters per roleplayer. Each roleplayer taking part in this roleplay can have up to four characters and they can kill them off at any time. Just because you can only make up to four characters at a time does not mean you cannot create another character after yours has died. I personally just believe four is enough before it becomes a hassle to roleplay.
- Be realistic. Be realistic from fights, to wounds, to facing enemies, and even to love. In the real world, love does not last forever and people can fall in and out of love, and cheating can happen. If your character falls in love, they can die, break-up, or leave them for someone else. Just because they fall in love does not mean they have to be forever and always within the roleplay.

?MY CHARACTERS?
FIONA DEMENTO
Age: Twenty-two / Twenty-five.
Gender: Female.
Hair: Fair Blonde.
Eyes: Blue-Green.
Skin: Fair Porcelain.
Race: Angel.
Class: Valkyrie.
Faith: Gaia.
Weapon(s):
- Glory, a golden spear forged by the knights of Illuminus. Attached to the staff is a pair of chains for Fiona to grasp after she has launched the spear at her foe to yank them back to her. At the end of the chains are two balls of iron for her to attack with as well if she were to spin her spear.
- Victory, a golden shield forged as well by the knights of Illumius and blessed by the priests of Gaia. The shield is fashioned with decor of an angel's wings with fierce spikes protruding from the sheild in order for her to use as a weapon as well as a method of defense.
- Truth, a small sword meant for gladiators and warriors given to her by Serenity when she was born. The sword was said to have been hers in her previous life and held by Serenity to be given to Fiona after she was reborn from Gaia. Fiona keeps it attached at her hip for only close combat.
Wing Color: White.
Biography:
- When Fiona was reborn, all she could remember was the harsh light of life being breathed back within her as her eyes shot open to the powerful lift in her chest. She felt a cool breeze, like a spring evening welcoming her with the scent of wildflowers dancing in a friendly wind. The fragrance of roses was overpowering, shaking her but also embracing her within the world she had been born back into. She fell from the sky, just as any other Angel with the brightest beam of light spreading across the land to greet a coming Angel into the land with the blessing of Gaia radiating from her porcelain skin. When her knees kissed the soft earth again of a vacant meadow residing just within Illuminus's countryside, she was greeted with the welcoming hand of the crimson halo baring Angel of Gaia: Serenity. Taking her hand, Fiona was born again within her life of Ominia, baring the wings gifted to her by Gaia. She was raised by Serenity with little knowledge of her previous life except for how she had earned the privilege to be reborn as an Angel.
- Fiona was born to her previous life as any other child of common wealth. She was born to a family with a mother, a father, and a sister soon to follow. Her father was a countryside farmer whom had once been a blacksmith of the kingdom of Illuminus, but moved into a less crowded life to live out his life with his childhood sweetheart, the daughter of an inn keeper of Illuminus. However, her parents, like many, were taken from the Lost War after attempting to move from the countryside of Illuminus to New Pearl after her father had bought a home by the sea to attempt the life of a fishermen as well as a farmer. As they were traveling to the seaside, rogue soul merchants appeared to gather their stock. During the attack, their father attempted to protect them to the best of his ability but for only a sun tanned farmer with a weakening back, his skills were no match to ruthless merchants. Before Fiona's seven year old eyes and her sister's four year old innocence, they watched in terror as their father was slaughtered before them. Their mother, on the other hand, was captured in a fit of rage, bashing her fists weakly against those who terrorized their family. Tied to the ground and tossed to the side in a state of shock, Fiona attempted to take her father's place in protecting her family by standing to the merchants, which mainly consisted of trembling in front of her hysterical sister. The merchants smirked and debated whether to raise them to sell as souls or sell to a brothel as servant girls, but just as their fingertips outstretched to snatch them away, an arrow interfered with their connection.
The guards from New Pearl had arrived, hearing the shrieks of their cries, but just as the arrow had pierced the earth, the merchants had scooped up their mother and dashed to the mountains of Shadei. The sisters of Demento were left as orphans and gathered to be carried away to New Pearl where they would discover a life not as they had planned. The girls were raised in the New Pearl orphanage, raised by retired priests of Illuminus and trained in the worship of Gaia as well as the ways of a knight. Since their home had to be sold since her father could no longer run the land, it was sold in their name until they could come of age to be sent to Illuminus. When the girls were raised to where Fiona was old enough to care for her sister, they were sent back to the kingdom of Illuminus to continue to be raised in the ways of the knights. With the funding of their father's failed investment, they resided in a home for the two while continuing on their paths to become knights. - When Fiona's sister was kicked out from the church from her misbehavior, Fiona had to work twice as hard to become a knight in order to care for their home. It wasn't soon afterwards she received her blessing from Gaia to be released out into service as a knight at the age of nineteen. While her sister tended to their home and worked in the city inn, Fiona served as a guard to the king. It wasn't until Fiona had prevented an assassin from Jaisai from slaying the king that Fiona earned her name and was allowed to be released into the battlefield under the king's name. With such honor, she lead the Knights of Gaia with the Valkyries at her side, serving for the glory of Gaia as well as the name of the king. Fiona was celebrated, a victorious warrior against the demons and protector of souls, but when she would return home, she would find her sister more and more withdrawn from her. She never joined in on any celebration but instead disappeared as soon as the sun fell from the sky.
- Two weeks had passed since Fiona had returned from the battlefield and on the fourteenth night, she followed her sister as she exited their house once again. Keeping a safe distance, she watched as her sister wandered deep into the countryside, far away from the kingdom, and it was then that Fiona had discovered where her sister had been disappearing to. There, beneath the sinister moonlight illuminating the lake, she saw her sister bare bodied with none other than the king within the water with her. In shock, Fiona withdrew. Ashamed of her sister, she could not bring herself to look at her sibling for days. And when her sister finally brought her silence forth, Fiona confessed what she saw in an outrage. All Fiona saw of her sister was her widened eyes, startled at Fiona and in shock at her sudden outburst.
The next day Fiona returned to the battlefield and within the countless nights of blood spill and avenging the dead, Fiona received a letter from her sister with a broken seal. Within the letter, she had detailed that the king had told her he loved her and was planning on making her queen from his sickly wife. Soon afterwards, it would be sure that Fiona would find herself within the castle as well and that she was in love with the king as well. Fiona burned the letter, unable to cope with what she had read. The king's wife was not sickly. Fiona had been to the palace enough to see that. She knew exactly what the king meant by having a sickly wife. Three weeks had passed and Fiona had isolated herself from the kingdom, distracting herself from what her sister had fallen into. Soon she returned but what she returned to would become a nightmare she never had expected from her arrival.
When she entered the gates, no one cheered for her return or proposed a night at the tavern. In fact, no eye could meet Fiona's, avoiding even a mere glance in her direction. When she returned home, all was still and empty but there was an unsettling feeling in the air. It was then she had noticed the letter on the dining table. Pealing the letter open with hasty hands, Fiona's eyes searched the script for an explanation and within the letter informed that her sister had been sentenced to death for betraying her kingdom and attempting to murder the queen. Fiona fell to her knees, unable to find her mind to hold what she had read. Her sister had been put to death by drowning, sentenced by none other than the king and queen of Illuminus, two weeks prior to her arrival. In her fit of rage, Fiona stormed to the castle, blade in hand and eyes set for blood. - This was the day that Fiona died. Storming to the king's chambers with blood fresh on her blade, she stormed to his room and snatched him from his bed. Blind with her anger, she cried out for reason from the king for murdering her sister. Slamming him into the stone walls of his corridor, she demanded to know why they drowned her sister and as he choked his last words, he told her that the one who delivered her letter to her from her sister had read the letter, informing the queen. Fiona breathed, her chest heaving with her fury. Why didn't he try to stop her? Why didn't he deem the one who told the queen a liar? He just let her sister die. With this, she slit the king's throat to avenge her sister and slaughtered the king within his chambers.
As the story goes, Fiona was an assassin sent by an unknown source and Fiona was not Fiona. The queen had apparently slain the assassin before they could kill her as well and as the story goes is how Fiona met her tragic fate. Soon after the death of the king, the queen raced to his chambers and arrived to see a sobbing Fiona. With her weakest moment, the queen quickly killed Fiona and had her body removed from the kingdom in secrecy. When those who wonder of Fiona's fate, it was said that she died in battle as a honorary soldier of the king.
When Fiona was reborn, the queen birthed this tale, unable to dishonor Gaia's chose of Angel. But since Fiona's rebirth, the queen has summoned every reason possible to keep Fiona from the kingdom and away from the castle from her hate against her. Fiona, on the other hand, has no memory of her past life or even of her sister. According to what Serenity had agreed to tell her, Fiona was a powerful warrior and knight of the king who died in battle, her sister long gone in her depression of losing her only family left.
Extra Notes:
- Fiona is Lilith's older sister.
- Fiona has absolutely no memory of her past life or what her sister even looks like, nor her name.
- The queen despises Fiona with all her being and has done everything in her power to unofficially cast her out from the kingdom.
DELILAH "LILITH" DEMENTO
Age: Nineteen / Twenty-two.
Gender: Female.
Hair: Crimson Red / Teal.
Eyes: Blue-Green / Red.
Skin: Fair Porcelain / Pale Violet.
Race: Demon.
Class: Succubus.
Faith: Gloia.
Weapon(s):
- Demonic Grasp - When Lilith was reborn and her form was altered to fit her new demon body, she was given very long nails as sharp as daggers. Her nails are a form of her weapon as well as her most used line of offense. When using her demonic form and powers, her nails can grow to an extreme length in order for her to pierce through her victims and can easily cut through flesh with a swift swipe. Her nails are always pointed and kept at a decent length for a succubus, ready to attack at any given moment.
- The Embrace - Along with her bat-like wings, two hooks reside at the peak of her wing's arch. These serve just as well as her claws, able to hook into flesh and grab onto whatever is near her. At the edges of the other points of her wings resides smaller horns which can also help her grip onto her victims and be used for defense when shielding herself with her wings if anyone wishes to run towards her. Her wings also cause her to be very swift from flight and quick, giving her unnatural speed which can be used to her advantage.
- Demon's Whip - A demon's whip is a term often used for their tails, if they bare one. It is very common for succubi to bare tails with a spade or pointed tip. They lash around quickly and can pierce through wood, flesh, and even sometimes metal. As sharp as a fierce sword, they are very deadly when one is not aware of their snake-like movements. Lilith often fashions her tail around her to cover her body or be worn as a belt.
- A Succubus's Charm - As known, succubi are very fatal when it comes to the hearts of men, and even some women. They use their bodies, eyes, voices, and touch to their advantage. Succubi tend to be very persuasive and their voices can be very misleading, almost giving them the power of a siren to cause men's minds to muddle and bend to their will, depending on the strength of the man's mind. When they cannot speak, they can use their female charms of their bodies to lure men into their traps and whenever someone locks eyes with a succubus, they fall to their hypnosis, which is where warriors and knights have come to know to never look a sultry woman in the eyes. Succubi are often formed to be any man's desire but when a succubus ventures into a man's mind during his sleep in attempt to poison his mind, they can take the form of whoever they desire as long as they are either asleep or under their hypnosis.
Appearance Notes: Before Delilah was reborn as Lilith, she was one of the fairest maidens in the land with hair as red as the petals of a crimson rose and skin as white as snow. Her eyes bared the same color of her family's and her sister, but since her rebirth, she bares a only her previous body and face with all her noted features taking a dramatic change. Lilth also bares dark purple, bat-like wings and grey devil-like horns curving from her head with frightfully sharp nails.
Biography:
- Lilith was originally born to the world as Delilah Demento, daughter to the Demento family and younger sister to Fiona Demento. When Lilith was born, she took on the genetic appearance of her mother with fiery red hair and skin as pale as the moon but bare her father's eyes, just as her sister. Growing up, Delilah was always the curious child and the troublemaker, the one who was always scolded and had to be constantly watched over by her older sister but no matter if she was in trouble or not, she always laughed like everything around her was a game to her. When her family attempted to cross the land in order to move to New Pearl and she had to endure the site of her father being brutally murdered while her mother was tossed to the ground by the merchants, she was silent for an entire month. It was assumed that she would never speak again within her second week at the orphanage in New Pearl and she became quite the hassle at night from constantly sleep walking away from the orphanage.
One night she even disappeared and wasn't found until three day's time, deep within the woods just beyond New Pearl, staring down a well. That was the day Delilah began to speak again when the priests shook her and scolded her for disappearing, claiming she could have died. "I wasn't going to! The man in red was taking care of me!" She exclaimed, screaming and kicking away from the priests. This was when the priests began to hold a firm grip on Delilah's restrictions, keeping her from playing outside after deeming the man she saw as none other than Korth. It was to protect her soul from him, they told her, as she watched the other children and her sister play outside. As Delilah grew, the priests began to notice her fascination with water. At first it was assumed perhaps she was gifted by Gaia and was to be a mage, but as they waited for her gifts, they found nothing but the simple fact that Delilah would stare at water for hours but never touch it. She would never swim with the children during the winter but instead watch them, saying things like the Red Man said it's not time for her to drown and such. One of the exercises the priests attempted to get the "Red Man" from her mind was baptizing her within the ocean for a blessing of Gaia. Delilah was locked away in the children's corridors for a week for biting one of the priests until he bled after going into a fit of hysteria to escape them. - As Delilah grew older, she resumed her previous personality of becoming curious and quite the troublemaker. Unlike her sister, she held no interest in becoming a knight or receiving a blessing of Gaia but instead attempted multiple times to run away with the money they received from their father's land. Each time she was caught, even once with a local fishermen's son in a neighboring barn of a farm. By the time she was fifteen, she was practically deemed the demon child of the orphanage, known as New Pearl's troublemaker and mischievous girl. It was even rumored once that she held an affair with the town's blacksmith whom had a wife and children, but all the rumors were dismissed by the church even after the blacksmith and his family moved from New Pearl to Illuminus. When Delilah and Fiona were sent to Illuminus, it was time for them to assume their positions as knights and receive Gaia's blessing. However, while Fiona received the blessing within a short time, Delilah was removed from the church. She was found with one of the fellow orphan boys drunk and in quite a "bare" situation and when she did not receive her blessing, she was sent to work at a tavern to help her sister bare the funds of their housing.
- Delilah was known as the sultry woman of the kingdom, whispered to bed many, but what Delilah's biggest sin was when she fell for the king. It was an early, dark morning when the king made an audience with Delilah just as she was closing the tavern. He claimed he had seen Delilah around and heard of her beauty and had become smitten by her, "bewitched" by her beauty. With such a handsome face and with such power, no woman could refuse the king and that is when the affair began. They spent countless late evenings and early mornings together while her sister was away. They would stay locked away in her home for days only for him to leave in the early morning to his wife and throne. Even though his daughter was practically her age, she did not care. He presented her gifts and beautiful dresses, offering her romance and riches and promising her a throne if when his wife would pass. She was in love but not only with his wealth and royalty, but she was truly in love with him.
When her sister returned from the battlefield, the king and Delilah had to resume their affair in a different location. The king would claim he was going for an evening ride and Delilah would slip off into the night where they would meet at the lake not far from the kingdom, just in the countryside of Illuminus. Even though Delilah grew up afraid of the water, this fact seemed to have left her mind when the king beckoned her from the land and she slipped into the water as if it had been her home all along. The day her sister discovered her, Delilah felt her heart drop and like all of the world had begun to collapse. If the queen were to discover her and the king's secret, it would surely be her head. In panic, she wrote her sister a letter and sent it to the battlefield to reassure her this was all as it should be and as she watched the courier dash, that's when she began to feel a familiar prescience and when the nightmares began. - As she waited for word from her sister, the king had begun to stop visiting the lake or her home and she was left in her bed alone. She was greeted with nightmares of running through the woods like when she was younger and seeing the man in red armor waiting for her within water. It was on the seventh night that she heard the knock on the door and dashed to open it, hoping her king would greet her with open arms, but what she found was quite different. Surrounding her home were the people of the kingdom and the guards, one holding a letter from which he read her fate. By orders of the king and queen, Delilah was to be put to death for attempting to seduce the king and see harm done to the royal family for the glory of Gloia. She was deemed a succubus in disguise and to seal her spirit away, they decided to drown her and trap her spirit under the water. With no real physical strength, Delilah put up as much as a fight as she could and was carried away to her death with the kingdom shouting out terms such as "Harlot!," "Demon!," and "Succubus!" When Delilah was tied down to stone and thrown into the lake where her and her king once met, she faced the same fit of hysteria when she was a child and the priests shoved her under water. Biting and cursing, she fought all she could but sank under the water under the full moon. Choking on the harsh cold of the liquid surrounding her, she tossed herself around in attempt to free herself but as she looked to the surface, she began to see the red armor she was once so familiar with before her mind went blank.
- When Delilah was reborn, she found herself underneath the water of that lake, curled into a fetus position - not sinking, but floating. She lifted her eyes to the surface and began to swim to the world above, her wings carrying her to the surface. When she reached the surface, she threw her body onto the ground to find a armored pair of boots before her. Korth had met her at the shore of the lake and carried his new succubus to their world. With no memory of her past, Korth told her that she was a girl murdered for believing in Gloia letting him and all the demons reign over Ominia and he saved her. He raised her to believe in Gloia's way, never telling her of her sister or her true past but instead built a hate for all beings other than demons and those who don't believe in Gloia. Ever since, she's been causing destruction to the land and has become one of the most infamous succubi to roam the land and tempt others into pledging their love to Gloia.
Extra Notes:
- Lilith was named by Korth.
- Lilith is Fiona's younger sister.
- Like all other succubi, Lilith is in love with Korth.
- Lilith has yet to come into contact with the queen of Illuminus so her being reborn is unknown.
S'AURORA MYA'SHO
"My wrath shall be felt, through the light of the sun and the stars. I am the child of the moon at the true ruler of all the lands, by the word of the stars. I will cleanse the land of the abomination its become by my light."
Age: Nineteen.
Gender: Female.
Hair: Starlight Silver.
Eyes: Sunset Golden.
Skin: Pale Indigo.
Race: Elven and Anashi.
Class: Mage.
Faith: Herself.
Weapon(s):
Rah'mya, in translation meaning: "Moon of Rage." A moon shaped staff given to her as a wedding present from her tribal leader. It's a beautiful golden staff that the tribal leader had stowed away from their ancestors from before their journey to the forests of Amazi. On the moon, words from the Bara'ku's language are carved witin with their tribe's motto, "From the grace of stars and moonlight, to the fire of a setting sun, let the earth rise." At the tips of the staff is a sharp point fashioned within the staff to be used as offense, but the large shape of the moon can be used as a method of defense from it's large, circular size. S'aurora focuses her energy and magic through the staff.
Illumination, the power gifted to S'aurora by Gaia. It is a very rare power that is not often seen, but somehow was given to the "moon child." It is the overpowering ability to summon light to blind her enemies, burn their skin with the sun's flames, and destroy any darkness, like the sun. It is the opposing power to darkness, but is not overpowering to the skill. It can also be used to heal minor wounds and bring forth balls of light to act of objects of force.
Mage Element: Light.
Appearance Notes: S'aurora has an odd appearance for being the only one of her race. Her legs are built almost in a human manner, but are cut off after her knees to morph into that of a satyr's with pale white fur to come into hooves of an animal. Her ears are long and perked of that of an elf's, but are located higher than an elf's from her Anashi blood. A horn protrudes from her head that pulls from her indigo skin into a pale silver but as the horn gathers to a tip, colors of gold begin to settle and swirl into the silver. S'aurora bares tribal tattoos and scars given to her by her tribe. They were burned into her flesh by the fire of her tribe, then soothed by the healing of her hands to create a deeper indigo on her skin. She was given these markings to signify her gifts to her tribe and were kissed by all of her followers to mark their blessings upon her.
Biography:
- S'aurora's story is that of a glorious one to those who do know it. To those who speak her name and worship her gifts, she is Ominia's true ruler. She is the light gifted to them by the want for freedom and the mercy the souls weep for. She is the answer to all of Ominia's prayers and the one to bring them into a new world where she would be the mother of a pure world filled with freedom and the righteous will of her people. However, none really know of her story because it is a story that is often never told. The way her tribe tells the story, S'aurora was found in a basket after a storm where the breaking moon illuminated her sleeping face as they wandered out into the sea to embrace this child that had survived the wrath of the vicious waves. The moment her new found father bared witness to her face, they knew she was different not from her animal characteristics, but her elven ears and elegant golden eyes, as well as the glittering horn protruding from her head.
Taken back to the village of the tribe just within the forest of Amazi, not far from the cherry blossomed trees of Jaisai, she was presented to the foreign Anashi. They admired her strange appearance and she was taken in by the tribe's leader as their own. The tribe gifted her with the name S'aurora, named after the illuminating lights and stars of the night sky, and with the second name of Mya'Sho, meaning simply "moon star." - The tribe was a small tribe from the Anashi decent that had found refuge within the forests of Amazi, lead by the older brother to Ar'ku. Nun'ku once lived among the fellow Anashi of Shadei, but even as the two were raised in the teaching of Gaia and Shadani, Nun'ku was always the son to bare questions. He could never understand the reason to follow such foolish and selfish idols or why the great animal warrior Shadei came to aid a goddess that had shamed their world. Even though he was still brought to his worship of Gaia and Shadei, Nun'ku still bared his wild ideas of a world without worship of Gaia. It seemed ridiculous to him to let a goddess who had fallen to the power of their twin resume their position as their ruler. Not only had she shamed her children, but she had betrayed her gifts to her children. The Anashi were raised to give thanks to not only their gods, but the earth they were blessed with that gifted them with life. Anashi were animals, a being one with earth but Nun'ku could never cross the idea of feeling as if they were all being shamed and as foolish as their previous leaders.
Nun'ku would often go on fits of preaching during the tribal fires to pay respects to the fallen warriors and the aching of the land. He would exclaim words of peace, words of rebellion, and words of finding a true ruler to bring aid to the land and their people. All gods were a shame. Even Lorthinos would not come to their aid, so they should create their own world with their own ruler, gifted to them by the power of the land left by previous gods. Finally, he was sentenced to the silence of confinment for his words and his blasphemy. That was the final boiling for Nun'ku. Each night, he would visit the tents of those whom did listen to his words and preach to them of a new worship. In his mind, he had all the answers.
They would use the powers left from the previous lords of the land and ask for their own figure of worship by the power of the greatest lights of the sky: the stars. They were the watchers, the glittering protectors of night that guarded them from the utter chaos of a blackened sky. They were the greatest gift from the gods and the reason why the earth still breathed. They had to be the answer.
To protect their opinions, they birthed disguised words and established a protected language that no one else knew that eventually grew into their own language. They would preach together in their hidden language and speak words of freedom and an answer from the gods. But as they gathered into the canyons of Shadei, they were discovered by curious eyes. They were then branded with the name of "Bara'ku," meaning "betraying chief." Nun'ku was cast out from Shadei. In the words of the leaders, he was "opening the door for Gloia by worshipping false idols." Nun'ku and his followers left the world of Shadei by the light of the night to begin a new tribe of the Anashi. Crossing the land, they came to the Amazi forests and jungles, settling just beyond the ocean leading into Jaisai to begin a new life, lead by the worship of the stars, sun, and moon -- the day and night watchers.
The Bara'ku remained small from their lack of defense and number of followers with the wrath of the demons at bay, leaving them to blame Shadani for their misfortune. From their misfortune, they pulled even further from their ancestors by cutting off all connection to the outside world. To them, they were all that mattered and were the change to the world, based upon their worship to the sun and stars. - When S'aurora was found, there had been a hurricane that threatened the lives of the small tribe. Their homes, their food, and shrines dedicated to the earth and stars were all being destroyed. To the Bara'ku, this was the end. The earth had spoken, and so had the stars, deciding to destroy all life on the earth to start a whole new world with what powers the gods had given them. But just as all seemed lost, the storm came to a sudden silence and there, drifting over the calming waves, was the basket that held S'aurora and brought the night sky back to the Bara'ku.
They believed the horn was the first sign and once the child opened her eyes to reveal her golden eyes, they dropped to their knees and wept to the earth. Her hair was as silver as the stars, while her eyes as bright as the burning sun, with her multicolored horn glowing with the color of the moon, and her skin the color of a coming dusk. She was the answer to their prayers, given to them by the sky above to bring Ominia to it's true glory. She was the child of the sun, the stars, and the moon. She was the child to be raised and spread the word of the earth, and the one to bring peace to the land and end all the suffering. She was raised almost like royalty, taken under the Nun'ku's wing and kept in a purple tent with images of moons and stars painted on the fabric. And every day, the people would bow before her tent and offer their harvest or anything of found value to the moon child's presence. She was the princess of the Bara'ku, the rising goddess that they had wished for.
She was raised in a different way than the other Anashi children. She was raised to be schooled in the ways of the old to "help her prepare for her reign." She was taught the old tongue of the Anashi, as well as that of the Bara'ku. She was taught to read and taught of the ways of the lands. She learned of the kingdoms from old maps that the tribe leader had kept hidden, and taught of ways to protect herself, and the old teachings Gaia and Gloia to understand the ways of the world -- how their goddesses had been so foolish. They raised her on their words of her being the answer to their prayers, a daughter from the sky, and the future ruler of Ominia. It was her goal, her life, and her journey to be their leader. - On her twelfth birthday, members of the tribe brushed her long, silver hair and prepared it with braids for the coming celebration of her birth where they would dance in the ocean under the moonlight, thanking the moon and stars. But it was on this day that their belief of S'aurora grew even stronger as she mentioned a beautiful woman coming into her dreams and whispering things she did not understand in her ear. When they asked her what she looked like, all S'aurora could say was that she had beautiful silver hair, just like hers. The tribe leader smiled, informing her that the woman in her dream was her, her future self as ruler of the land. S'aurora took the answer and that night as they danced in the water, S'aurora began to beam with a bright light that surrounded her with the illuminating power of the moon. This was when the Bara'ku bared witness to S'aurora's magic. She was now a mage.
They fell to her feet and bowed before her, grabbing her hands and ankles to cling onto her and pray to the stars in thanks for their gift. Some wept and S'aurora felt tears burn at the brims of her eyes from her confusion of their sudden weeping. It wasn't until later that S'aurora was informed of her new gift being the power to lead her on her journey. - When S'aurora was seventeen, she had fallen in love with her life-long guardian. He was a fellow Anashi, one of the Bara'ku that had grown up with her as well. Admired from afar, S'aurora knew better than to ever approach someone with such an interest. His name was Koroka. He was one of the warriors that protected her from the demons from the outside world. But her father could see her wandering eyes. The marriage was announced the following week. He was to be her protector and the one to lead her to her glory. Even though the Bara'ku had been practically isolated from the rest of the world and almost forgotten by all, somehow the word of their marriage traveled across the land. And with such happy news, came darkened wishes.
The night before her wedding, S'aurora sat within her tent as her handmaidens brushed her long hair, braiding it for her wedding. Her stomach was in knots. She had known his man since she was a child, and now she was finally marrying a man she had been protected by her whole life. He was practically her only friend she had growing up due to her treatment by those of their tribe. But something within her gave her an uneasy feeling. Late that night, she wandered to Koroka's tent and as her fingers brushed against the leather, she could hear the sound of a woman's laughter inside. Her face flushed as she peeked within the tent.
S'aurora had never seen such a sight. Her skin was tainted a purple color, but much more pale than her own. She bared the eyes of blood, and wings that outstretched from her back with a leather texture. The moment the crimson eyes flashed over to her, she could see none other than Koroka below her. Her skin was stained a crimson color, just like her eyes. And there lied Koroka, his throat ripped open and exposing the grotesque sight of death that S'aurora had never seen before.
What happened next is a speculation to the the tribe. All that could be remembered was the bright light of S'aurora's powers illuminating the tribe with an extreme brightness. The next day when S'aurora had awoken from her blacking out, she woke to discover that the demon woman was a succubus and had hung the corpses of their warriors all around her tent, writing her name in their blood. S'aurora never spoke of Koroka again after that day, but instead went through an age of silence where she would not appear in front of anyone until a month's moon later. When she rose from her tent, she shouted out to her tribe that the time had come for her to start her journey and she was to bring light to the land once again.
Two years later, S'aurora has finally begun her journey to become the ruler of Ominia and the new goddess, unaware of any truth within the land. - The truth of S'aurora is no legend. It's known by none and is disguised by the assumptions of her tribe. She was no gift of the stars, but instead the child of an Anashi and an elf. It was a forbidden romance between the two that resulted in a pregnancy. The couple had attempted to disappear from sight to bare the child, but once the child was born, no acceptance was found by either races. She was neither an elf, nor an Anashi, and she was surely going to lead to disaster. Demons often flocked to mixed races, wanting their souls to breed into more advanced soldiers for their undead army. The couple attempted to live on their own with their child in order to lead a normal life, but after the sudden death of her mother due to an illness, her father yearned to return to normal his life as an Anashi in Shadei. He had no way to raise the child without a mother. She was still so young and needed a mother's love and he had no reason to stay without the only reason he had for keeping the child. And there was no way he could protect her on his own.
In attempts to hide the child without the guilt of blood on his hands, he placed her in a basket and let her drift out into sea as he passed over the ocean to return to Shadei from the Amazi jungles. S'aurora is simply a found child that was simply lost.
Extra Notes:
- S'aurora has no idea of what the world is like outside of the Amazi. The only demon she has ever witnessed was the succubus she had seen and does not have any common sense as to what the world is truly like.
- S'aurora's ultimate goal is to become a goddess and rule over Ominia. She was raised on the idea that she was meant to save the world and was born from the stars. She is very sold on this idea and cannot fathom anything other than this idea.
- S'aurora was given the gift of magic by Gaia, not because she's a child of the moon and stars.
- S'aurora's father is still alive and lives within Shadei, not knowing that she's alive.
