The Exchange. (MidnightWolf and Rodyn Banks)

In the beautiful city of Tampa, Florida. There's an American family who takes in a female from Tokyo, Japan. The female knows little English, but the American family manages to help her. The host family has a daughter that slowly but surly falls in love with the Japanese girl. What will come of there love?

[Spacing Out]

"She'll be here any minute now Bea" Her mother said to her. Bea was next to her mother in the baggage claim area.She waited there for an hour now but She was still really excited to meet the new exchange student. Though she met exchange students in the past she never met one from Japan! But now all she had to do was wait.

Kiyomi Takenaka, a Japanese female, had just gotten of of her last flight and was very exhausted but excited to see the family she'd been sent to.'She was walking with her phone to her ear, talking to her mother on the other line while looking for her host family. "Hai, wa i, watashi wa tsukutte kanzen ni bakkin mama."(Yes, yes I made perfectly fine mom.) She said in her native tounge still looking for the family. "Watashi mo anata o aishite, mama." (I love you too, mom). She hung up. She then walked over to the baggage claim area and waited for her extra bags to come around.

 

[Spacing Out]

Beatrice looks around along with her mother then finally her mother spots her. "Bea I think its her. Put up the sign" Beatrice puts up a big sign that saysbKiyomi Takenaka on it,trying to get her attention.

Kiyomi looked over seeing her name on an enormous sign with her name on it. She walked over to the people who where holding the sign since she didn't see her bags haven't came around yet. "Hi!" She said then bowed her head. She arose from her bow then smiled at the family. "It is nice to finally meet you." Her heavy accent showed threw each word she spoke. She then pulled out a gift which was wrapped neatly. "I am honored to be your guest." She said whole heartedly. "Please accept this gift." She gave the wrapped present to the female that seemed to be the mother and another that looked as if she was the teen.

 

[Spacing Out]

"Thank you for the gift Kiyomi, I appreciate it. My name is Valerie Dupois but you can call me Val or Ms.Dupois and this is my daughter Beatrice." she said. Bea was still in admiration of her thick accent. That it took her a while to realized she was mentioned. " pleasure to meet you Kiyomi! Please call me Bea" She said with a smile on her face. " I'll help you out with your bags." She picked up some of her bags then they all headed to the car. They arrived by the porsche then Beatrice loaded the bags in the trunk." You can sit in the front or the back Kiyomi."

Kiyomi smile once they introduced themselves. She found it a little strange how in America that said Mr., Ms. Mrs while Japan used ending titles such as -sama or -san, but she tried to adapt as much as she could, saying it over and over again in her mind. She was also practicing Bea's name as well trying not to add -chan at the end of her name. She followed the Dupois's to there vehicle. She loaded the last of her bags in the trunk. "I think I'll sit in the back." She responded to Bea.

 

[Spacing Out]

Bea smiled " OK then." Bea sat in the sat in the back with Kiyomi. Then when everyone was settled Ms.Dupois started driving. "Would you like something to eat before we go home Kiyomi?"

Once Kiyomi settled in the car, she nodded in response to Ms. Dupois's question. "Hai, onegaishimasu." (Yes, please) she said happily. She was hungry since she hadn't eaten anything on the last flight. "I-I mean yes, please." She corrected herself. She was used to responding that way that she'd forgotten for a second that she was in America. She was a little embarrassed that she'd done that.

 

[Spacing Out]

"Ayamaru koto wa nai n desu." (There's no need to apologize) Bea said."Watashi wa Nihongo wo benkyo shiteiru.( I'm still learning Japanese) so what would you like to eat?"

 

[MidnightWolf]

Kiyomi smile at Bea. "Ano..."(Um...) Kiyomi thought for a second. "Yoku wakarimasen."(I'm not sure.) She said. "Ano... Watashi wa mae ni hanbāgā o motte ita koto ga arimasen."(Um...I've never had a hamburger before.) She stated truthfully. "Watashi wa sorera ni tsuite kiitaga, sore o tameshita koto ga arimasen."(I've heard of them, but never tried them.) She was now feeling a bit more comfortable, but still a little bit nervous.

 

[Spacing Out]

"Daijōbu (Alright) Mom she wants to try a burger." Bea said with a smile. " Got it!" Ms.Dupois said as she made a turn.When they made it to the the place ( probably five guys or maybe a diner).Ms. Dupois got out of the car then Bea followed. "Come on Kiyomi." She said beckoning her to follow.

Kiyomi nodded then followed Bea after getting out of the car. She smiled as she looked around at the scenery. Everything was just so different to her. Kiyomi gave out a little yawn as she walked. She couldn't wait for what was yet to come.

 

[Spacing Out]

When Ms.Dupois and Beatrice order ed their burger and drinks .Bea smiled towards Kiyomi "alright, its your turn.".

 

[MidnightWolf]

Kiyomi nodded. She walked to the counter hesitantly, and ordered her food. She got herself a regular cheeseburger and a Mounian Dew. She followed Bea and took her seat. She didn't start eating yet. She waited for Bea and her mother to start eating first before she did. She somehow found it rude for her to start eating first.

 

[Spacing Out]

" you should have a bite since its your first time." Bea said smiling. "You'll like it. It taste amazing!" She said then she took a bite of her burger.

 

[MidnightWolf]

Kiyomi smiled and nodded. She assumed that you ate the burger with your hands, so she lifted the burger up and took a small but reasonable bite out of it. The taste was amazing to her as she crewed. "Oh, wow," she said in amazement. "It's really good!" She smiled then took a bite that was little bigger that the first one.

 

[Spacing Out]

Bea smiled in delight " I knew you would like it." Ms.Dupois looked at both of them then asked "So what grade are you in Kiyomi?"

 

[MidnightWolf]

Kiyomi smiled at Bea then directed her attention to Ms. Dupois. "Um...," she thought for a second trying to remember how America's grade levels work verses grade levels in Japan. "10th grade." She said. "I'd be in 10th grade."

 

[Spacing Out]

"I'll be in 10th grade as well! I hope we have classes together!" Bea said she couldn't wait to show her around school and introduce Kiyomi to her friends.

 

[MidnightWolf]

Kiyomi giggled and nodded. "I hope so too." Kiyomi could wait to go to the school she was transferred to. She looked down at her plate and saw that she'd only eaten half of her burger. She didn't want to throw it away thought. "I think I'm finish with my food. I don't think I could eat anymore."

 

[Spacing Out]

"Alright then let's go home so you can get settled." Mrs.Dupois said "alright let's go Kiyomi." Bea added as she got up waiting for Kiyomi to walk with her to the car.

Kiyomi followed them to the car and went inside the vehicle. She scooted herself over to make room for Bea. She yawned quietly as she looked it the window. She was a little tired from today, and she could wait for what the future would behold.

 

[Spacing Out]

Bea sat next to Kiyomi as her mother drove them to their house. Bea went out of the car then grabbed some of Kiyomi's bags. The house was bigger than most which was why beatrice thinks her mom wanted to host a student.Bea's mother opened the door for them as they walked in.

Kiyomi got out of the car and grabbed some of her bags from the trunk. She walked behind Bea to the house. She stepped to the side to where she wasn't blocking the doorway and slipped her shoes off. "Where to need me to put these bags?" She turned to Ms. Dupois and asked.
