The End of All

Felix surreptitiously let out the breath he was holding in, thankful Loren wasn't going to make them split up.

Every time they talked about bullets, Felix felt awful. They had been in such a hurry to leave the house neither of them had gone for the gun accessories, and yeah, if Felix decided that most of the blame for that little stunt was on him and not Loren, who was older. He could just imagine their dad reprimanding them for forgetting all the tinier parts that belonged to the rifle but were stored in a separate place.

They'd really dropped the ball on that one.

He was pulled from his thoughts as Loren started talking again. Felix nodded at her suggestion. Yeah, the first door on the right worked fine. He once again checked behind him, just to make sure no zombies or,  worse, humans, had in the five seconds since he last checked appeared at the door.

Once he was secure that there was indeed no new enemy the two of them would have to face, he took a step towards the door Loren had suggested. Personally, he didn't see the difference between the doors, and was pretty positive they'd all lead to disaster.

Damn, was he glad to have his sister back to make some of the important decisions.

He took another step, before pausing, remembering something pretty crucial.

"Uh," he asked quietly, turning around awkwardly for a second to face his sister, "Wh-who should lead?"
