History:

In the year 92 of the Third Era, Gillan was born into the minor Dunmeri noble house of Llarethi. His parents were skilled mages from the House Telvanni who were under the employ of Rilvin Dral, archmagister of House Telvanni. Gillan's youth was dominated by his luxurious but strict Telvanni education that he had in the wealthy city of Llothanis. For almost twenty years, the young Dunmeri mage was seperated from his parents who aided their master in his mushroom tower with his enternal search for more knowledge. When Gillan had reached the age of twenty-two (still a very young age for a Dunmer), he was sent to Port Telvannis, the capital of the Great House to continued his education there. On the age of fifty-nine Gillan's education and training was finished and he immediately worked under the employ of Archmagister Dral who took a great fondess of the young Llarethi. Whilst House Telvanni remained to survive throughout the many years of the Third Era and when he reached the age of eighty, he became the personal battlemage of the archmagister for more then two hundred years.

In the year of 411, Archmagister Dral died of Coprus and his body was quickly turned into ash but with the sudden death of the Telvanni archmagister, the Great House turned into choas. Dral's successor was Ashila Neynan, a Telvanni mage with an age of six hundred years (rather young for a real Telvanni Mage Lord/Lady) who's ambitions weren't what the Telvanni had expected. Archmagistrix Ashila was a great supporter of Imperial traditions such as the royal monarchy of Mournhold governing the country, though she wouldn't publicly announce this until the Oblivion Crisis. Gillan with his entire house lost their positions in the household of Tel Thenim but their influence in Port Telvannis remained strong. After twenty years of remaing quietly in Port Telvannis, events in Cyrodiil shaked Tamriel entirely.

Emperor Uriel Septim VII's sons were all assassinated in the White Cold Tower in the year 433. The Emperor was escorted out of the Imperial palace by the Blades who brought him to the jail to escape via the sewers, but the assassins were more cunning then they thought. The Emperor was killed and the Amulet of Kings stolen, soon Oblivion Gates appeared throughout all of Tamriel. One at Troval that completely took over the city as was the same at Kvatch but the town was saved by the Hero of Kvatch. Later the Crystal Tower of the Summerset Isle that was destroyed, Stormhold but the Argonians made the Daedric forces fled. Finnaly the sacred Dunmeri city of swords, Vivec but with the aid of the Imperial Legion and the Tribunal Temple was the city partly saved.

The queen of Morrowind, at the time, Rolora Hlaalu had defiled the Temple wich was her larst mistake as monarch. Indoril and Temple forces took over the city of Mournhold and completely surrounded its royal palace, locking the queen up in her residence. Meanwhile the wise Mage Lord of Sadrith Mora, Vorar Ecuvaletion headed for Vivec and with extreme clever use of illusion magic managed to sneak through the Deadlands, steal the ancient Sigil Stone and close the Oblivion Gate. It was after this event that Ashila Neynan, the archmagistrix of House Telvanni publicly supported the queen, wich lead to Master Vorar inviting her in his halls of Sadrith Mora, the only thing that was ever seen of her was her head when it was delivered in a box to the queen one week later.

The Mage Lord of Sadrith Mora sailed with a large entourage of trusted mages and sharpshooters for the Telvanni capital city of Port Telvannis and took over the city's defences and goverment. Those who defied the newly pro-claimed archmagister's rule were killed and their property seized, that were the strict ways of the Telvanni. Archmagister Vorar had known Gillan for years and made him one of his most senior lieutenants and even had him command the assault on Gah Sadrith. When the Oblivion Crisis had ended the Fourth Era began, Vorar Ecuvaletion ruled the Grand Council of Morrowind through his devious plots. The Ecuvaletion faction was the dominant power in the entire East of Tamriel, until the elections. The Redoran archmaster was proclaimed Hortator of Morrowind by the Grand Council and even the Lord High Councilor wich made him the Sovereign of Morrowind.

The Ecuvaletion faction's influence diminshed even more when the Red Tower became unstable and errupted causing the deaths of thousands of Dunmer and the destruction of a lot settlements but with the power and wealth of the Great Houses and the Temple, a reasonable could be saved and brought to the Mainland. The politics of the overly ambitious Redoran Lord High Councilor lead indirectly to the Argonian Invasion of Morrowind and it even letting sack the magnificent capital city of Almalexia-Mournhold. The Redoran army was able to later push back the Saxheel forces but Morrowind still lost most of its southern lands. The Dunmer looked up to their Gods, ALMSIVI but they were long gone. Lord Vivec the Warrior-Poet had been said to have been captured by Azura during the Oblivion Crisis, ending the presence of the Tribunal on Nirn whilst the other powerful individuals of Morrowind such as Divayth Fyr and Vorar Ecuvaletion that were perhaps the last chances of saving Morrowind had all strangely vanished. Gillan Llarethi fled Morrowind during the Red Year and headed immediately for Skyrim and took refuge in Winterhold, where he still had some friends.

After the several months, the once renowned battlemage and lieutenant of two extremely powerful Telvanni archmagisters became a common teacher at Winterhold, surrounded by the race that was his people's ancient enemy. For two hundred years Gillan has remained at the college teaching his students and when possible he watches Morrowind in the distance, in silence for his thoughts were filled with the events of the last years of the Third Era.
