Fayre's cheeks turned a bright red. Of course she knew she could get hurt. She simply didn't want to her him. She stared bashfully at the ground kicking around the snow at her feet. This was also something she wasn't used to...embarrassment. She certainly had not expected him to laugh at her. She let out a huff of air before speaking. She was still looking toward the ground. Trying to hide the redness in the face.

"I know I could get hurt...I just didn't want to hurt you..."

She looked up at him, her face still a light shade of pink, but much better than the beet red it had been a few mere moments ago. "I am no stranger to injuries.....I get hurt wandering in the woods by myself quite often."

Of course, her injuries in the forest were simply due to her not paying attention. She had a horrible habit of admiring the wilderness and the creatures and then falling. The injuries she received from sparring would be worse, but that was fine. "As long as you can take care of me I'll be fine"

"I hope you're ready!"

Fayre gave Jon a small wink and walked back to her original position to ready herself once more. Once Jon was ready as well she would take a lunge forward swinging towards his left side. She thought about going for the head, but concern for Jon's safety would cause her swing to be unsure and she would make a split second decision to go for the side.

Margaery stared in awe as she watched Cassia move with deadly force and yet she some how managed to appear elegant. Margaery didn't so much as flinch until she saw Cassia impale the man. The metallic smell of blood hit her nose and her whole body reacted. She recoiled slightly. She had seen death before when she was with Renly, but something made this more shocking. Perhaps it was the way that Cassia moved or perhaps it was that this man had been trying to harm her.

Margaery took a deep breathe and backed away from the scene as the other men fled. It seemed they were a spineless bunch. Attacking women they perceived to be weak and then running when one of their own was killed. Once the other men were completely gone, Margaery slowly approached Cassia. She made sure to avoid blood so she didn't ruin her gown even further. She stared at Cassia for a moment. She seemed to be hardly phased by the situation that just unfolded. Margaery could manipulate people without blinking an eye. It was true that her actions had possible lead to a death, but she never swung the blade herself. How can she appear so calm?

Margaery's voice was shaking as she spoke "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" With a new wave of strength, Margaery moved over to Cassia and began looking her body over for injuries.

Jon tried not to laugh again in his relief, as it nearly overwhelmed him, that she was aware she could get hurt. His expression softened as it seemed she didn’t want to hurt him. At least, not physically. She hadn’t seemed to mind tossing barbs at him earlier, but at least that had to mean she didn’t truly want him dead or harmed.

She had just been angry. That was all. He had to keep reminding himself of that. “I appreciate it, but I am prepared for it,” he said, and resumed his stance, tensing again, as she took to hers once more. He gave a nod – he would take care.
If she was terribly injured through this, they had a maester near at hand, but he intended to keep his own strength in check. He’d learned from dealing with many untrained men here how to do so, and he would do his best here. He was prepared when she came forward, and he saw the hesitance that slowed her strike, and made it a bit sloppy.

He did not take advantage, but blocked it with ease, stepping with the blow and turning his body slightly. However, though he put himself in a position to better retaliate, he would not – he would stick to his promise and let her lash out for a bit, so he could observe how she would respond to defensive maneuvers, and see her strikes without her fretting too much over stylistic concerns, or whether or not it was good.

Then he would be able to instruct her, after seeing where it was most needed.

Right then, he was thinking it was in her hand and her swing – besides not hesitating, or being obvious in her intentions.

They ran off, and so Cassia slowly lowered the blade, but did not plan to drop it. The thought crossed her mind when her eyes returned to Margaery, who was careful in her approach, hesitant. She seemed rather surprised with it all, brown eyes wide. Cassia didn’t know if tossing the blade aside would help Margaery to see the woman she’d seen the other day, or not. She did not know if it would help at all.

Before the act of tossing it aside could be made, Margaery spoke, voice shaking. Still, she found the strength to come forward, and Cassia tossed the blade aside then, to appear less threatening. Less volatile.

Not that she had considered herself volatile then. Every act was thoughtful, rather than rash. She was not some berserker.

“I was untouched,” Cassia answered, noticing how Margaery’s eyes went over, “They were unskilled, I am fine. Are you?” She started to reach out, but hesitated, and pulled her hand back, “I tried to keep you in my vision, but I could not see all,” Margaery did not appear wounded, thankfully. The white would have certainly shown blood easily if she was.

At least now she knew that she was, in fact, capable.

After Fayre realized the speed at which Jon responded with, she realized that she did not need to be as concerned for him as she previously was. This was not the little boy that she had seen so many years ago. This was a man that could hold is own in, likely, any situation. She pushed a deep breath aggressively from her lips as she sped up her swing. Perhaps her stance was a little off though because on occasion, she had to correct her footing. She nearly fell several times. With her bow, she needed to concentrate and for the most part stay still, but this was entirely different. Her hands also hurt incredibly bad.

After a few more swings that were expertly blocked by Jon, she could not take the pain in her hands anymore. She stepped back and dropped the sword to the ground. She swiftly removed her gloves to show that her hands were covered in blood. She wasn't sure if it was from not holding the blade tight enough or holding it improperly, but whatever happened she knew it needed to be fixed and fast. She stared at the cuts on her hands. They were not too deep, but they still hurt far worse than one would expect. It appeared like her skin had simply broken open from doing something so intense and then the cuts got deeper due to her continuing to swing.

"well...I guess I need to work on how I hold the blade. "

In truth, Fayre's hands didn't have any kind of callouses to protect her from such an injury. The tips of her fingers did from using her bow, but that was it. The rest of her hands were as soft as a ladies hands could be expected. She picked pieces of cloth out of her wounds that had come off of her gloves. She looked up to Jon again embarrassed. Her pale cheeks reddening .

"I didn't do as well as I hoped. You wouldn't happen to have anything I could use to wrap my hands with, would you?"

Margaery didn't mind the blade. It was the blood that bothered her. The smell and the look bothered her, but not nearly as bad as lingering sensation she got from it. The vision would stay with her for days. It always did, but this may stay for longer. Not only was she attacked, but she witnessed someone die. It would cause many nightmares. She did relax slightly once Cassia spoke though. She relaxed fully when her companion stated that she was unharmed. She returned to her graceful and poised position. " I am not hurt...Thank you for saving me"

Margaery smiled widely and grasped Cassia's wrists in excitement. It appeared her adrenaline finally kicked in, but she was also hit with the sudden realization that it would be even easier to convince Jeoffry and Tywin to allow Cassia to stay at her side. Her eyes gleamed with excitement and her mind raced. It normally wasn't this easy to do things, but the little hawk had more than proved herself at this point. There was no feasible way the Jeoffry could deny her.

"Cassia, this means it will be so easy to make you my guard. If it hadn't been for you I would be dead. The male guards were too far away from me to help. I could simply tell Jeoffry that men cannot possibly protect me in every situation. A female is needed to be with me when I am to do other things."

Margaery tugged at Cassia excitedly. She wanted to hurry to King's Landing as soon as possible. Sure, her marriage wasn't confirmed, but once it was, there would be no reason for Jeoffry to say no. "Quickly, let us get back on the road. The faster we are to king's landing, the faster I can get you started with your official position."

Blow after blow, Jon blocked, and noticed how she did not have much balance on her feet, nearly falling over, and overly focused on her stance. Not only that, she seemed to be damaging her hands with each strike, simply wailing on him with all her strength. He flinched a bit, feeling the sword tremble in his grip as it took the blows, but he didn’t feel the same pain.

Of course, his own hands were calloused, and his gloves heavy, helping to absorb each blow.

Needless to say, he was shocked when Fayre pulled back suddenly, and dropped her sword. He lowered his, and his eyes went wide as she uncovered bloody hands, “What—” he’d never seen hands in such bad shape, and it panicked him immediately.

He didn’t stay still as she muttered of needing to work on her grip and picked clothe out of her hand. He was already moving to fetch some of the clothe bandages they had outside for wounds that needed immediate treatment, and he came back with them, reaching for one of her hands to start wrapping it just as the question left her lips. “Yes, but we need to have you see the maester.”

He didn’t want her to walk there with her hands bleeding like that, though. Especially not in this cold, when she couldn’t slip on her gloves. Sure, she wouldn’t be out long, but the risk of frostbite was still there. He would wind the clothe around her hands, if allowed, as much of it as he could to help to cover the red stain bleeding through.

Thankfully, Margaery was well, and Cassia would have been content with that, content to lead her somewhere away from the body where she could have some peace. They seemed to have come down to the river for the same reason – a reason that was suddenly forgotten when Margaery’s eyes lit up and she caught both of Cassia’s hands in her own.

She was back on the tangent of Cassia becoming her guard. She supposed this would make things easier, if it didn’t upset her own guards that she’d taken a sword and handled a bandit so easily.

She had a point, of course – a woman warrior was of use in situations where it would simply be indecent to have a man around. Cassia did wonder if it would be so easy with Tywin, after all, once she was in King’s Landing, she would have baths drawn for her, and would not need to worry of bandits such as these at a river. Whenever she was out in public, she would be near the Kingsguard.

The thoughts didn’t continue long as Margaery tugged at her and she let out a long-suffering sigh, “And here I had hoped to finally get a bath,” Margaery’s desire for it was probably gone, given the blood in the water. She wouldn’t want to bathe now, no matter how far upstream they moved. “I had better have a good one in King’s Landing for this.” She allowed a smile to pull at her lips, and she followed Margaery’s tugging, to go along with her and make her triumph clear to others.
