The struggle
I don't speak that... care to elaborate?*loud internal screaming*
yeah well... dis guy gonna give himself a stroke and then just die... just before they hang him his head is gonna explodeSorry, I really love the way Titus’s personality and internal conflicts come to play with each relationship. It’s well written and unique for each person
PHEW- DONE. I think that's everyone. If not. I will check later. My fingers are dead now. Please let me know if you don't agree on anything here. This is sort of a mix on how Titus sees you lot, and how he interacts with you. I also used this to try and figure out what exactly his plans are... so... just ignore the plans part. You don't know nothin about that! Mwhahaha! Focus more on the interactions.
King Robert Ravenswood (aged 44-50 ) Misty Gray - The man fortunate and unfortunate enough to be on the mind of Titus almost 24/7. Titus knows. He has seen, and experienced and learned and he knows. He knows the man is a monster. To what extent he might be a monster, he is not sure - but his willingness to entertain the cruelty of his eldest, to the rushed and unjust executions, to the general sense of contempt shown in his actions - which sour his flowery words - Titus knows. And he hates the man. He hates for what he has denied his family. He hates for what he has made Titus... for in a way, his greed and malice is what made Titus. What forced him to abandon the ideas of childhood, and forced him to leave his family, and set out like some honor-less and death bound knight, into the world, to consider such dark deeds as murder and revolution. His father wants the Kings head. To an extent, so too does Titus... the question remains. Who to replace him with... or better yet. Should he be replaced at all? Or should his throne burn? He avoids the man every chance he gets, and speaks very little of him to anyone, lest they get an idea of his inner thoughts.
Queen Arielle Ravenswood (Queen - 45 ) Melanin-Gxdess - As cold as the ice queens that haunt fables and folk tales alike, the woman is an spectre of the castle. Titus does not know her history, but she moves around, quietly, then suddenly loudly - a moving and changing figure, adapting to situations. All this has made him very, very cautious of her, as he does not know her true motivations. And a fears he never will. Publicly she acquiesces to the king's demands, and yet he knows she has her own plans. Her closeness with the other servants - or rather, the male chivalry on display, has more than once had Titus's mind run amok, as he considered schemes of how to use her (possible?) infidelity to his advantage. This provides him with a moral quandary, as he does not actively hate her. In fact, he admires her position greatly - the level of power she retains despite the king, while seemingly not being as cruel. But... the fact remains - in order to destabilize the household, and make it easier to overthrow the crown - taking her out would be critical. And in doing so, breaking the king's trust in her, sending the two men she seems keen on to their deaths, inciting the hatred of the king's children against him even further... her value on the chess board can't be denied. A valuable piece. When interacting with her, he does so politely, quietly and with that servile nature he despises so. It's what he thinks she wants. And because she is what she is, he needs to obey. They rarely interact since he does not engage her - he has no standing to - and whenever she approaches him, it would mostly be out of some or other curiosity he would try and assuage as quickly as possible.
Christopher Matthias Ravenswood (Eldest Prince - 24 ) Misty Gray - The Crown Prince. The Cruel Prince. He wears his future crown on his soul like a banner. His duty like armor and his general air of superiority irks Titus to no end. The spawn of the king, and every bit as rotten. Every moment of teaching him feels like an eternity, as while the man is brilliant in some ways, his arrogance knows very little bounds. Every order barked at Titus grates against his soul. To think that this man is to replace the current king frustrates him even more. This worthless sack of miserable self-aggrandizement to become king, not having known consequence in his entire life. Not having known loss. Spending his youth using and exploiting the poor and the weak. Titus spends as little time with him as possible, which is fortunate, for every session seems to give him even more grey hairs. He needs to be replaced. How to do this... well, that's still up for debate.
Amren Raenswood (Eldest Princess - 23 ) Ms. Sparrow - She provides him with the first of his real moral problems - outside of him considering the killing of a man and the ruin of his family. Her mischievous nature might be somewhat alarming to him, but that does not make her a bad person. Her sense of adventure, and her interest in language, exotic foods and her humor has endeared him to her many times over. While she might be a bit brash, a bit too temperamental - he finds that he likes her as a person. Which makes him avoid her for the most part. Teaching her when she needs to learn something, or when she requests it - but, the thought of coming to know her better frightens him. Because to know her and to like her would undermine his mission. To break her family would mean hurting someone who was clearly a person. A person he could have been friends with in another lifetime. She is the first crack in the dark mirror that is this family. Showing that there is some light behind it. A light that Titus does not always want to admit is there.
Arthur Ravenswood (Prince - 20 ) Braddington - The knight-Prince. The hero, full of all the charm and bravado one might wish for in royalty. Dedicated to his people, and loyal to a fault. Another cut of glass, cast aside. In teaching him, Titus has come to reconsider his entire plan. For... if the eldest king died, and the eldest brother would be removed. Leaving Arthur to rule. The appropriateness of that has not been lost on him. What stays his hand, and undermines his ambition is the fact that Arthur clearly loved his family. And he would be lost without them. To place him into a position of king would destroy much of what his family is. How much of that luster and bravado would be lost? Would the good king be turned dour and morose? Would anyone be able to blame him? As the prince sets about, avoiding his studies for the most part - unless they suit his need to serve the people - Titus, as with Amren, avoids him for the most part - as seeing the prince reminds him of the inevitable point where he will have to destroy his world, and place upon him a bloody crown, or burn the throne his family is built on.
Olivia Ravenswood (Princess - 20 ) apolla - Another spirited family member which undermines his resolve. She is as active and as excitable as they come, with a rebellious streak that even Titus can appreciate. Her disinterest in academia makes their relationship somewhat rocky, so he tends to offer her classes on topics or ideas she likes, often offering for them to have classes in the solarium - having noted that she hates being indoors for study. It's not helped much, but he tries his best to facilitate her. Within the long game he thinks of her as a massive support for her twin, Arthur - perhaps as a point of strength and resolve when he needs to assume power.
William Ravenswood (Prince - 18 ) Moka-chan - The boy prince, as energetic and as loyal to his brothers and sisters as they come. His devotion has slowly started festering in the mind of Titus... as dark ideas started forming in his mind, during the midnight hours when all lights are out. The boy is easily coerced. He had taken to telling him stories of far off places and amazing adventures - sharing the information he needed to study through narrative. Seeing how easy it was, seeing how keen, and proud... how dependent he was, he started playing a larger and larger role in Titus's mind. For, if anyone could be driven to protect his family - even from themselves - it would be him. And so trust needed to be developed. Loyalty. Friendship even. For, eventually, when the king needed to go - whether it be the remaining father king, or his bastard of a son - William should be the one to do it. His brother Arthur would never kill him, and at most would put him away for the murder of his brother or father. Yet... every time he sees that smile. That charming laughter, that grin - Titus internally cracks. He does not want to destroy this young man. He does not want to destroy his spirit. He should not be so easily swayed and prone to gossip. Things can only end badly for him. And it will be a tragedy.
Adelia Ravenswood (Princess - 16 ) arryn - The Child Princess. The recent tragedy that befell her struck Titus's heart. It made him seethe, to see the young girl be so broken by her own brother. To betray her so. It cemented in his mind that the Prince needed to die. Margaret had been a good person. A kind young lady. This was a monstrous act committed unto two pure souls. He has been conflicted in having to harm her family even more, but he also seeks to offer her revenge - even if she might not know it as such. He teacher her when she needs to be, and takes great pride in her development as a fine young lady of culture and sophistication - but has also taken to leaving her in peace now as she grieves.
Amalia Fiera (Christopher's Fiance - 23 ) seasonedcat - Titus feels immense pity for her, and her situation. Her gentle soul only furthers this, as he looks upon her and worries for her sanity and safety. Her quick devotion to him shows her to be too trusting. Too gullible. Considering the history of the man, and the death of at least one woman subject to his advances - he can't help but hope she will remain quiet, unobtrusive and safe until all this is over. He sometimes listens to her playing, but very rarely interacts with her - but made sure that she knows he is available, should she ever require anything.
Gabriel Lancaster (Head of Security - 42 ) Misty Gray - He has no strong opinions of the man. He is a charming, well developed man with what seems to be a good head on his shoulders. Titus assumes that much of his devotion to the family comes from that 'servile mentality' he despises, and he hopes that the man sees sense enough to not subscribe to it entirely. He has noted his interactions with the queen, and has not noted on them - seeing that they might be useful in the future. When interacting with him, Titus makes sure to stay calm, quiet and generally polite - not wanting to tip off the man to his internal struggles. He knows that the man will protect the family no matter what... and, Titus has sort of made peace with the idea that if anyone is going to cut him down or prepare his noose, it's probably going to be Gabriel.
Stephen Crowley (Prince's Adviser - 25 ) Melanin-Gxdess - A pompous asshole that Titus has no interest in. The man never says anything of value and his escapades irritate him. He can see that others are keen on him, but the only times Titus ever thinks about him is when he is thinking about how to take out Christopher, and how to make sure that his pet-bootlicker is not around when he does so. At the moment the best thing the man can do, is seduce the queen.
Celitje Van de Teuling (Lady's Valet - 34 ) - Teh Frixz - Perhaps one of the most competent people Titus has ever met, the woman oozes style, class and an elegant minimalist nature that appeals to him greatly. He does not have much to say to her, but he makes sure she knows of the order of the lessons for the day, and informs her should Olivia require anything special prepared for her studies. He hopes that she will stay with the princess despite the future, and make sure that she remains secure and stable, so that she in turn can stabilize Arthur. Beyond that, he knows she has a thing for gambling and he has offered her a game of chess on more than one occasion. He has also asked her to teach him Cyrillic - but she has not yet agreed.
Genevieve Montjoy (Love Interest - 18 ) - Hysterical - He has no idea why anyone would want to marry into this family, and if they do so - he worries for their sanity or their peace of mind. If she does marry into this house, he will offer her any support he can... even if that support is quiet dissuasion.
Mary McKinley (Maid - 22 ) Moka-chan - He finds her to be charming, kind and gentle. All the things he fears would lead her to ruin within the palace. If she should catch the attention of a prince... he fears for her. He would make sure to visit her at least once a day, making sure she is fine - all under the guise of making sure that the foods she prepares for the prices and princesses are good for mental acuity and development. He also prefers to eat in his rooms, and will often come fetch dinner from the kitchens, and bring back the plates and utensils when done, often washing it himself and offering her help if he can. He has also tried getting her to spend some time practicing her reading - having noted her keen interest in the world. It has been going slow due to their filled schedules. He also loves her accent, and will note that it sounds nice when she slips, wishing that she needn't be forced to hide it. He also warms her, subtly, against affection for any of the children - hoping that in telling her to keep it professional, she might stay alive longer.
Maxwell Tanner (Stables/Farmer - 21 ) Misty Gray - An energetic young man, with a love of nature, horses and people. They have very little need to interact, Titus always staying far away should the other potentially get horse hair on him. The young man's free spirit is something Titus admires, and he wishes the other the best of luck in his life... but... he has seen the looks. Of awe. Wonder. And yes... admiration far beyond anything subtle. When he needs to go fetch Arthur or William from the stables for their lessons, he has noted the looks of longing. The lingering eyes following the moves of them. The boy was going to get himself into trouble. But, Titus could not interfere. He could not mention it, lest inquiry be turned towards himself. So, if they speak - it's curt. Polite. Hoping for the best, but expecting the eventual worst.
I did not really think of them as ships. I don't know if he is going be with anyone. I think he might have too much on his plate. We will have to see.TYPE There totally a noose with Titus' name on it.
Seriously, though, bravo on writing up all of those ships. They look about right for my characters.
Hey now. He is the image of politeness and calm. No need to get violent. XDYeah,"ships" might have been the wrong word. I'm still slightly woozy, haha.
I've identified a few characters who would need to be very careful to avoid punishment in that palace. RIP everyone!
Currently working on Maxwell's, but it won't be as majestic as TYPE 's
Ahhh, about that...Hey now. He is the image of politeness and calm. No need to get violent. XD
We can all hope.Misty Gray ... Bean? Really? So the king dies in the first post?
