One Time Luck
Persephone had grown tired of her role as a goddess. Her time in the presence of other powerful Gods and Goddesses had grown monotonous. She had always felt like an outcast amongst her brothers, sisters and cousins. Her father, Zeus, causing havoc among the family as well as others who he has inflicted his powers upon. She had fled from her role as the devotional daughter and become her own person as a mere mortal. With a new identity as Sophie Rivers, she had become a florist in a small town in southern Georgia.
Sophie came to the town of Savannah as a single woman looking for solace in the quiet life of a small town. She opened a flower shop and named it Bloom and Whimsy. Her few years in Savannah were quiet and quaint. She loved how peaceful and uneventful the town was. She had been infatuated with the flowers and plants that she worked with daily. It was healing for her. She got to be away from her duties while also being able to do what she loved and what she was meant to do with plants and the harvest.
She kept to herself in most ways, but she did socialize with the population of the town and had made a few acquaintances and friends during her stay in Savannah. She figured she would stay here as long as she possibly could. She loved everything about her life now. Without being under her father’s thumb she had truly blossomed into the person she always wanted and dreamed to be.
As she began to open her store for the day on a warm Saturday morning, She took in a deep breath and smiled at the scent of the florals in her shop. Her shop was decorated in warm and bright colors with accents of complimentary cool colors to make the colors flow. The salty warm air flowed into the walkway and made the start of her morning feel almost ethereal. She waited for her first customers as she brewed a pot of coffee and started watering and pruning the plants.
