[11th of September 2008| Radio transmission received]
Is anyone there? [A man's voice starts talking through the radio, visibly tired.] Oh god, this thing actually works.... John! Theo! This thing works!
[27th of September 2008]
Good morning, survivors! Theo had an idea to make this radio tower into an actual radio station! We even found some music tapes to play. We will try to get you updated if anything important happens. That's also the main reason we're staying here; if help actually comes, then this could be crucial. That's all we have to say for today.
[The transmission cuts to a song, "Princess of the Universe."]
[13th of October 2008]
Good morning, survivors! Radio New Hope here. Because that's how we decided to call ourselves now. Theo's idea, don't question it. We have important news today. The decayed are running... Not everyone, of course. Just a few we found yesterday and today, they just started to do so... If you see a horde in the distance, don't think you can outwalk them; there is a chance of the Runners being there. And they do not stop when they know where you are. But you can still kill them. Don't lose hope! Also, we've found new music tapes! ....
[24th of February 2009]
Good morning, survivors! Radio New Hope here. The winter was hard and unforgiving, I know. John and I were on a scavenging run yesterday, and we've found... or rather heard something strange. It was one of the decayed that saw us; it didn't have any arms or jaw. But it started screaming so loud! My ears still hurt. And a lot of regular walkers and runners were immediately alerted. We've had a run for our lives. We don't have much information about this type, but we're trying, okay? For now, just try to avoid them and don't trigger their scream. [Sigh] Anyway, let's cheer ourselves with some ABBA?
[7th of March 2009]
Good morning, survivors! Radio New Hope here! And we're here to keep the radio silence away with some tracks from her Majesty, Queen, with Freddie Mercury himself! From the latest information, our community had some newcomers! Humans are still alive; remember it.
Look at Theo, for example; he's reckless and somehow still alive!
[24th of May 2009]
Good morning, survivors! Radio New Hope here. Check twice before going into new buildings; we've encountered another type. It's like the virus is trying to adapt as much as we do. Those who are decayed are fat, but not like a regular person; they have giant bubbles on their stomach. And if they see you, they literally explode in your face with guts. One of ours got infected because some of this shit got into his mouth... Please check every corner; they aren't common, but that makes the element of surprise, just like screamers and runners. [The man's voice is clearly exhausted.] How about we turn ourselves to Bobby McFerrin and his advice? Don't worry and be happy for what you have, because humanity isn't dead yet. No matter how hard the dead try to take us with them.
[28th of July 2009]
Good morning, survivors! Radio New Hope here. I'm happy to announce that our community is again expanding. We're happy to welcome those who were listening to our radio! I don't know if someone was even counting, but this hell started almost two years ago. And I'm proud of what we've achieved so far. I know we're not the only community out there. I know that other survivors got to this point. I know that humanity isn't dead yet. That if we just try, we can go through this! We've overcome the decay since. And people who tried to take something for themselves. I know we've lost a lot: family, friends, lovers, brothers, and sisters. We did. All of us. But WE are still here, and we REFUSE to give up. That's why we keep on surviving. Ahem! To cut ourselves off from the seriousness, let's go back to something... To the bone!....
[30th of August 2009]
Good morning, survivors. Radio New Hope here.
Dear God, do we have news today... We were on a scavenging run and saw a strange decayed one... This one was different, way, way more different than the others. We've discovered his presence way too late. It's like he was stalking us. For hours. I thought I saw him only in the city, but somehow he followed us back to our base, and... and... Dear god. One of those can do so much damage... It killed twenty-six people; it was fast and strong... Ahem... You can identify this type by their skinny body and lack of skin... I don't know if it was just this one, but... It was taller than a regular human... John called this one a hunter. Sorry, I can't cheer anyone up. We have to rebuild what we've lost. We still can't give up....
[25th of September 2009]
Good afternoon, survivors... We've been through a lot; actually, today marks the two-year anniversary of this shit show, I think. Are we supposed to be happy? I'm sure I'm not! [Man's coughing is heard pretty clearly, as well as banging on the door in accompaniment of growling sounds muffled by the door.] So? What's going to happen? Two years... Two years, I've been sitting in this radio tower for two years. And nothing happened, no help, no magic cure, nor a miracle to save us. [The banging on the door increases.] John and Theo are dead, just like the rest. I didn't get to bury them; they... They turned... More hunters decided to lead a horde here... [The man coughs more violently,] and one of them got me... If anyone was listening to this radio... Thank you... What? Do you expect a big monologue? What the hell am I supposed to say? HA! At least I saved myself a bullet! And I recommend you do so as well. This station will play music until the tower's dead. That's the least I can do.
[The audio cuts to classic rock from the '80s.]
Well, that was a long intro. How do you like the thought of the 'decaying world'? I thought about doing this roleplay for a long time again. But with a better style.
Side note: The world is miserable. Just like in the intro, once you think it's quiet, you get slapped in the face.
If you want to know what I have to offer:
- long and detailed responses
- worldbuilding
- I'm not a jerk who will constantly send you messages to encourage you to reply. I know that private life exists.
- I'im willing to cooperate and great the plot together. In other words, I won't force you to write something you don't like and I'm willing to discuss new ideas.
What I expected:
- I don't fuckin' know.
Want to go on an adventure in a post-apocalyptic world, empty and decayed, full of walking corpses and occasional psychos who are trying to survive as well?
What do you say, deal?
Is anyone there? [A man's voice starts talking through the radio, visibly tired.] Oh god, this thing actually works.... John! Theo! This thing works!
