Philip knew this would all come crashing down on them. They'd probably have to evacuate the church, which meant he was to be left behind. He couldn't force anyone to help him outside, and he didn't want to considering he would slow them down significantly and ultimately get them killed. He nudged Sage, and handed her his back pack "anything goes wrong, you take this and move, I'll just tie you down more. There might still be something useful inside.." He clutched his knife at the sound of the wood being pushed on at the back door, hopefully he was able to help in the case that they did get in, he most certainly could not stand watching everyone fend for themselves while he lay there helplessly and immobile.

 

[Catharsis]

Sage was a bit confused at what Philip said, his ankle was healing. "your better now though?" She said looking at him curiously. "And we may need you, you seem to know your way around and your strong, you saved me and Justice and you proved that." She said looking Philip directly in the eye.

 

[Gitmuny]

His ankle was healing, but not healed, and besides, Jessica told him any standing or movement would risk any chances of walking on that leg again. "Just trust me, if I can't get up on my own and keep up with guys, just cut the dead weight. You said it yourself, I'm strong. I can hold them off for you." He wasn't sure by the way she looked in his eyes if she was concerned or angered at the idea he had proposed.

 

[Catharsis]

Sage looked at her friend. She grew angry at his idea, he was acting weak, but even the little 7 year old beside him who had just lost a arm was being braver than him. "Cut the shit Philip, your coming with us. That little girl right beside you lost a arm, and here you are complaining about your damn ankle." She said angrily, she didn't even bother to look at him.

MacKenzie jumped back at the girls harsh words to Phillip.Rain walked back inside looking at everyone making a head count.ok everyone is here but justice and Jessica she thinks to herself.

The doors were being rammed open now, it was only a matter of time before they would start moving in. His heart sank and he felt terrible from what Sage had just told him, but he only let that show for a fraction of a second. "Here goes nothing.." he whispered to himself, as he tried picking his weight up from the floor, and onto the pew. He managed to get up but he could tell there wasn't going to be any running on that leg, he held himself up on the pew with one arm extended downwards towards the edge of it, he looked down at Sage, again, hoping she would look back, but to no avail. He grabbed his knife and started heading towards the door, positioning himself in some sort of fighting stance for when the zombies came in.

Flashback...


Justice's eyes lit up as he ran around the church yard, his sister ran not far behind him, but Justice could always outrun Sage. His parents sat off to the side wearing their Sunday bests speaking to other church members. Justice remembered Sage's easy smile as she tried to get her bow, which Justice had taken from her. Sage's hair was pinned back, but her hair still flowed in the wind as she tried to get her bow back. Justice remembered the day fondly, it was the last Sunday he would go to church with his family before he left for college. That evening his family had gone out to a goodbye dinner at a well known resturant. At the resturant him and Sage had played around ticking off the waiters, whilst their parents laughed and tried to calm them down. That night he hugged Sage and began to him room, but he was pulled off to the side by his father. His fathers eyes were brimmed with tears, this was odd to Justice, who had never seen his father cry, 'I've never been more proud of you.' his father had said hugging Justice. That night, although he would never admit it he cried himself to sleep debating on leaving for college the next morning. That was one of the best days of Justice's life.


Justice thought of this all as he turned around to late to notice the Biter. Just as he raised his gun up


the biter tore into Justice's neck.

My heart is sinking, im not too happy about it either, but we have to remember there are other predators in this story, and i think this will have an affect on the other characters in the story.


 
Inside the church Sage was doing all she could to prepare for the upcoming biters. She was unaware of what was happening outside She raised was unsure of what to do. She wasn't sure there was much she could do, there were two different predators outside, and she wasn't sure which one she should be more afraid of. It was then when she heard her brothers scream. Her eyes expanded wider than they ever had before. She looked to Philip,and her concern grew. She got from behind the pew and began to run to Justice.

Rain heard justice scream and turned around just in time to see sage run past her."Sage,no."she screamed knowing that it will just end in her getting bit.

Phillip heard the scream of Justice, and quickly after Sage ran outside. oh my God. He didn't know whether or not to pursuit after her, or stay inside and try and protect who was in there. He peeked out of the door, there definitely was no way he could get out there fast enough without being noticed by the gunman, his limp held him back. He desperately wanted to find out if Justice was okay though, he was the only level-head in the group. If he died, there was no hope for this band of survivors, soon they'd start breaking apart.

 

[Catharsis]

Sage ran to Justice in time to see the gun come out the back of the biters skull. When the biter fell, Sage saw the mark on biters neck. "No no no no." she said turning her head, This couldn't be happening, her brother could survive with her, not the other way around. Justice fell to the ground putting his head in his hands. Sage fell beside him " No Justice we can fix it, we can fix it just like we did the little girls arm. Jessica can fix it." she said hoping. Justice looked up " No, baby its not that easy its in my neck.' he said hugging Sage stroking her hair. He was being strong only for Sage, he was really falling apart, knowing his life was over. " I can suck the venom out i can help you. " Sage said shaking her head. "This isnt a snake bit, you know its not venom that does this." Justice said in a cracking voice. He hugged sage hoping no biters notice them

((So I guess Jessics goes unnoticed for shooting the gunman... okay. Cool, no problem. But big problem... I just don't like that his user is making him invincible so that's why I got Jessics to shoot him. Yet I'm ignored for that :/ ))


Jessica heard Justice scream, she quickly ran away from the gunman and toward the scream. She saw Justice on the ground and a biter by him "no!" She dug her machete into the biters head. She knelt beside Justice and shook her head "you're okay. Youre okay" she looked around for sage. She saw her running toward and stood up killing a few biters around. "Shit"she mumbled and looked at the the gunman who was injured from the gunshot. She shook her head and knelt back down beside Justice who was dying.


Emi heard the scream and shook her head, "no no." She looked st Phillip, Charlie and MacKenzie "come on, we have to go or we'll all die" she hissed and helped MacKenzie up, "stay by me" Emi said and leaned Phillip on her shoulder "Charlie help him, or we'll all die." When they were set she quickly left the church and to where Justice lay. (Just thought we should move things along??)

When Phillip laid eyes upon Juustice's body, his whole world became overwhelmed in fear. Thoughts like "why him instead of me" danced around inside Phillip's mind. Justice was a good leader, and a great person, and those things... Just took him. Most importantly he felt terrible for Sage, for her to see her brother be in that state, must have been devastating. He pushed Charlie away from him, and began to walk on his own, he tried to pull Sage up from the ground "come on Sage, there's nothing left we can do, he's gone." He didn't want it to sound insensitive at all, he was just laying out the facts. There would be time for mourning, that time just wasn't now. They needed to focus on escaping otherwise they'd share the same fate as Justice.

Rain felt sorry for sage.I mean her brother just died and not by a human but by a freaken undead I mean its awful. She saw that the undead was coming closer so she decided to fight some off while they left to give everyone some time.

Justice looked at Philip, and then Sage, he kissed her hair " Go Sage, ill turn any minute." he said letting go of her arm. "No i wanna stay with you" she said sobbing. "No you dont. Listen to me and listen closely, you need to go back in that church, and get all the supplies, get the group, and go. I'll offer a distraction.." he said looking her in the eyes. " What kind of distraction? ' Sage said growing scared. Justice stood, hugged Sage one last time, " If you see me turn, shoot me.." he said walking into the herd of the living dead.

Jessica watched Justice go into the horde, "everyone who csn walk, go get the supplies right now!" She ordered and ran to the church, grabbing Emi and hers backpacks she helped grab others stuff snd ran back out handing people their things. She quickly glanced bsck to where Justice looked and turned the grouo in the other direction, "go!" She ran away with the group.


Emi sighed and shook her head, "this is shit!" She said out loud to the group. As they ran away
