Thalia_Neko Insane speculation here, goes off of revior.

Ellie is "dead." Physically. However in a desperate attempt to preserve her life, both Vira and Ellie agreed upon letting Ellie take over Vira's body. In doing so, Ellie replaced Vira (in otherwords: Vira is no longer alive). Because of this, Ellie (in her grief) assumes Vira's personality to the point where she believes she herself IS Vira.

Which could explain why Vira "sees" her sister and has those "good" qualities.

Annnnnd that when she died her soul imprinted or her ghost possessed Vira but not because she wanted to but because Vira polarized with her and made her power (maybe a possession power) and used it to "keep" Ellie alive and with her in the guilt she must have felt because.... she killed her.
