Fantasy The Curses of the Gods

AshleyBergie

Country Girl
Alright so I have an idea of a group of children (18-25 of age) who were cursed when they were born by the gods. Its up to them to figure out how it happened and to solve it before it can transfer onto their children and never to be fixed.

Curses:

  • Turn into a beast every week

  • Bad luck

  • No true love

  • Poorness (Skinny, rag like clothes)

  • Greed (Hated by all, Fights, Beat up)

  • Replays same death every month with no way to stop it

  • 24/7 Nightmares whenever you sleep

  • Alcohol turns to water

  • Desserts (Cake, cookies stuff like that) turn to dirt

  • Any liquid can cause any exposed skin to burn (Water, juice anything)

Now these are just some that came into my mind. I wanted to see if anyone would be interested and see if anyone else had any other interesting curses that I can add to the list ( :D )

I think the idea is really interesting. The main idea that crosses my mind is a slice of life/comedy kind of vein.
Can I maybe get some examples? To see if it would be a great idea

Well, the curses certainly do appear to have comical potential. I think a good, classic example, would be the "bad luck" curse. Add a few retorts and inner comments from the characters, and poof! you got comedy.

The other part, slice of life, seems fitting cause it lets us explore the curses well. This doesn`t mean there couldn`t be a deep, powerful plot, simply things would take their time to develop without the extra pressure of this completely exterior thing.

Did that help clarify?

I guess we could do something like that. We will just have to see if everyone else that would like to join likes it

I am actually fairly interested, I love the idea and it has a potential in every direction depending on one's desire and interpretation. Count me on board if you can.

Also, what would the general plan be for absolving a curse?

I've got a good curse, but it wouldn't work with any characters that are under the age of fifteen.

Well I thinking the curses all come from one source. The gods. They knew since a young age something was wrong but they didn't learn till about a year ago the gods have cursed them. That have to find every way possible to get ahold of the gods to try and fix it.

(Now the gods can be like a Egyption God or something. So like they could go the the tomb where they find they need to bring gifts to get rid of the curses)

Alright. I guess any kind of curse can help since I'm not truly able to think of more curses. If you guys have any that would be great cause once I find maybe four or so more curses I will be able to create the thread and all.

Fun idea for a curse, rubber-banding (teleporting between two locations). Basically being at the wrong place and when ever you get to the right place you are teleported right back to the wrong place.

Slowly finding out it was a sign from the Gods for a group called "The Travelers". A group cursed for owning a piece of stolen Egyptian gem, a Turquoise necklace and ring that belong to the high rulers of Egypt. Even though they had found a way to return it the gods were not pleased with them for one in the group replaced the real gem in the ring with a fake one. The Gods didn't know which had done it so they decided to curse the blood line and the unluckiest one whos birthday landed in the birthstone of Turquoise was to carry the curse. Each member of the group was placed with a different curse. Its now up to them to figure out who in the bloodline has the gem and return it back to the temple of Gods and leaders.

Anyone want their character to be the one holding the gem?
