The last survivor of the Freelands
The Six cities of Vinargal
A point of soreness from many in the world, the Six cities were the last refugee of the remaining nobility and world leaders after they sent their armies like lambs to the slaughter, and their nations were destroyed. What had once been a private retreat turned into a safe haven, as it's location lead to only a few ways for safe passage. Though it's time has long since passed from it's glory days, it remains a site to behold.
Many treat those that reside there with disdain. Those that do blame the families there for leading their ancestors to their deaths, and leaving the world to it's doom. Each city is placed above the other, each one at the top living better than below. It stands as a testament to the hubris of humanity, and a symbol of how their arrogance lead to their homes being destroyed. To make up for what they saw as an act of cowardice, Many of the younger generation leave to become Hunters, if nothing else to redeem their families.
One of the recent addition to the staff, the Mistress of Aura, grew up here, and is acclaimed to be the point of pride from the city state. Her fame, generosity, and general kind-heartedness has caused many to take a, begrudgingly, second look at the people. Thanks to the coin she spread out when she left, many restoration projects in the lower cities are underway.
Debluff, The city of Tombs
An incident that still haunts the living memory of many, the city of Debluff was a mining colony, and one of the most advanced for it's age. The machinery was all top notch, most of it's defenses were automated, and the building itself was resided of over a pit of lava. Many thought of it as a fortress, all but impenetrable. It's name even spoke of it's rise to prominence, and the hope that humanity could rebuild.
That Hope soon came crashing down.
They were prepared for outside threats, an invasion.....not breaking into an underground tunnel leading to the dungeons. Almost overnight the city was engulfed in battle and in flames. Over a thousand hunters were stationed for that cities defense. Nearly that number died there, along with most of it's population. The death-toll caused it to forever be known as the 'City of Tombs'. The battle has also scarred many of it's survivors, and those who live to this day say that it haunts them still as they sleep.
